  • IBooks Author keeps crashing whenever I try to copy and paste?

I'm working on a project for school in iBooks Author, and whenever I try to copy and paste something it crashes. It also crashes when I try to type in more than 2 sentences in 'scrolling sidebar' or 'pop-over's.
    Please help
    Thanks.

I have the same problem, and am using the latest version (2.2) on Macbook Pro, OS Yosemite 10.10.2.  It also is taking forever to save the smallest changes.  (I'm saving after each one now because it crashes when I attempt 2-3 changes, even minor ones.)  I've been using iBooks Author since its inception and have never had this problem before.

  • Satellite M30 keeps crashing after reinstall and SP2

    hi,
Can someone please help me. I'm having trouble with my Sat M30. It is 2 yrs old and I've never had problems with it before. However, I recently had a crash and decided to reinstall from the recovery CD. upon reinstallation, I tried downloading service pack 2 and my computer keeps crashing. I have not installed any other software and still keep having this problem. This is very strange since sp2 worked perfectly on my laptop until the recent crashes. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've reinstalled now for the third time and am extremely frustrated.
    the error I recieved on crash was: ***stop: 0X000000f4 (0X00000003, 0X86152950, 0X86152Ac4, 0X805f9f88)
    thanks very much

    Hi
Thats pity that it happens. Did you check the Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Update information on the Toshiba driver page? In the Sat M30 driver area you will find the document which describes what application must be updated to use the SP2.
I would recommend firstly checking this sheet before starting any SP2 installations.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update, select 'View update history' in the left hand pane and then select 'Installed updates' link in the following window.
Locate update KB2962407, right click it and select Uninstall.  When done, restart the notebook, open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update and select 'Check for updates'.  You'll see the update you just uninstalled being offered again - right click and select 'Hide Update'.
When windows has reloaded, use recovery manager to reinstall your original IDT HD Audio driver as detailed in the document on the link below.

    Hi,
Sometimes, a RDP crash on connect can be caused be local device such as printer (with a bad driver), so we can test to disable the "printers" check box on your Remote Desktop Connection by navigating to Options>Local Resources>Local
    Devices and resources, connect again.
I also suggest you temporarily disable anti-virus software installed in your system.
Keep latest Windows Updates to get best perofrmance.

  • IBook G3 keeps 'crashing'. Help?

Well, last year, the hard drive finally went out on my iBook. I took it to compUSA and had it replaced and put a 40 gig in. Less than a year later, I started having issues with it again, and it was under warrenty, so I had them replace it again. A few months later, my iBook had a 'battery' issue, claiming that the battery was completely dead and had an 'X' in the status on the menu bar. A few days after, it would not even turn on. I took it to a place around the corner, Mac Specialist Inc, and they sent it to Apple due to a 'bad power supply'. It cost a chunk of change. I got it back today and noticed that it would get hot, and the fan would not turn on. Then it would freeze at random, and I would have to force restart. After a few times doing this, I decided to reinstall the OS and updated to 10.4.4. Now, all I get are 'BSOD'.. Black Screen Of Death.. telling me to restart. I have gotten it 5 times today at least. I have repaired permissions and S.M.A.R.T. says the disk is 'verified' so, I don't believe it to be the hard drive. The ram tested good too. Could it be a fan problem and it freezes up when it gets too hot??
(I hope Rhonda knows. I notice her everywhere on this board...=) )

Hi, Will. Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Your iBook is experiencing multiple kernel panics. Here are some links I've gathered on kernel panics and what to do about them:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106227
    http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/kernelpanics.html
    http://www.macmaps.com/kernelpanic.html

    I hope something there helps.
P.S. I tried posting this yesterday, but it didn't go through. Sorry for the delay.

  • IBooks app keeps crashing as soon as I open it.

I have an iPad 3 and I've tried resetting and restarting the device multiple times and I have reinstalled the app a few times as well. Nothing seems to help!

My mail app sometimes crashes seconds after I open it.
What works for me is to delete all of the files named "operations" in the ~Library/Mail/V2/*/.OfflineCache folders. If you type this into a terminal window:
    open Library/Mail/V2/*/.OfflineCache
one or more Finder windows will open up in the correct folder. I close the mail app, delete the "operations" file (if any) present in the folders, and re-open the mail app. This fixes it for me, but I've been seen it occurring it every now and then both on my mac and other friend's macs.
So far all the updates up to the current 10.10.1 didn't help.

  • I have an older ibook, safari keeps crashing when I try to navigate beyond my home page. New to mac please help

I am new to mac and was given an ibook. When using safari it will crash every time I attempt to navigate beyond my homepage, I have done all system update and I am not sure what I need to do. Any ideas, tips, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you

This iBook has Mac OS X 10.3.9?  In the Menu Bar for Safari, under Safari, look for an item that says something like "Reset Safari."  You can try resetting Safari, including emptying its cache.
If that does not help, since this Mac is new to you and probably came with the software already installed (and previously used by someone else), you may want to create a new user account for yourself.  Under the Apple Menu, select System Preferences.  Go to the Accounts pane.  Create a new user account that is Administrator.  Make sure it is an Admin account.
From the Apple Menu, log out and log in to the new user account.  In the new user account, it should feel like using a new Mac, with most settings set to default.  Try using Safari, to see if the problem still occurs.  Actually, you may want to create a new admin user account, even if the Safari problem is resolved; it's the next best thing to doing a complete clean re-install to get a fresh start.  You can eventually get rid of the old user account.
FYI, that version of Safari that comes with 10.3 is pretty old.  The current version of Safari (or any recent version of Safari) will not run on 10.3.  You may want to download the latest Mac OS X 10.3.9 compatible version of more recent web browsers, such as Camino, FireFox, Opera, or iCab.

  • Ibook g4 keeps crashing

Hi, I bought my iBook G4 off a friend whos upgraded to a macbook pro a few weeks ago and it was fine, i decided to re-install OS X 10.3 on it to clear everything on it and that was also fine. But within a few days it started freezing and not allowing me to even put it to sleep by closing the lid, the screen would just stay on so i was forced to restart. In the last few days its been happening alot more, sometimes a few minutes into starting up. I unplugged the power cable when it crashed about an hour ago and it hasn't happened since. Is this anything to do with it? Or is it a logic board problem? I've never had kernel panic problems with macs before and im worried ive got a serious problem with this iBook...
    Thanks

jemappellefin, Welcome to the discussion area!
This area is for the discussion of the initial iBook G3s. You probably should post in the iBook G4 discussion area.

  • Maveriscks keeps crashing after reinstall

    Hello everybody,
I just bought a MacBook Pro (13-inch, retina) after a week it crashed over and over.
Then I found that google-drive could be the reason.
I was happy for half a day and then it got worse.
    It Didn't even start anymore.
After more than a week of trying to download Mavericks I gave up and made a bootable stick ....
Now everything is newly installed and i have lost all my data, but again after a short time crashes occurt again.
I checked the disk with Disk Utility, the disk was ok, but the accesrights were messed up.
so I let Disk Utility repaire it.
The crashes are no longer that freequent but still annoying!
I fled from the troubles of windows and now .....
I appreciate any help, suggesttions or alike ... !
    Thanks!!!!!!!!

For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if Safari crashed, you would enter "Safari" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.
