IBooks only imports PDFs when it wants to

Hi,
With a PDF file on my e-mail, I hit open in iBooks and 1 of 3 things happen:
(1) The file is imported to the PDFs Folder of iBooks
(2) The file flashes temporarily in the PDF Folder but DOES NOT import
(3) iBook opens but the file DOES NOT transfer
This problem started happening after I imported over 100 PDF files to iBooks on The New iPad. I have already tried:
(1) Deleting iBooks and reinstalling
(2) Completely erasing the iPad and starting from new
(3) Erasing everything on the PDF folder and restarting the iPad
My feeling is that somehow iBooks got corrupted but it is strange that after the complete reinstall of the software the problem continues.
Some files transfer after a few tries, others you have to wait a few hours and then try again, sometimes after a restart they transfer over.
Any help would be appreciated.

With your Shuffle connected go to Shuffle options and check the box that says, "enable disk use...". You don't have to allocate any space for disk use with the slider if you don't want to: just enable it.
It should charge after that although it will blink amber and will not turn green, leave it in for four hours and it will fully charge.

If you have PDF pack subscription you can avail all of the services like export PDF,create PDF & etc.
Otherwise you have to purchase every service individually.

How can I automatically re-size an imported PDF when I re-size the window?

I and using RoboHelp HTML 8 and Acrobat Pro 9. Once I "reduce file size," I can import PDFs with no problem and they look fine when I view them. But if I re-size the browser window, the images of the PDFs stay the same size, getting more or less blank space around them. I really need the images to grow and shrink with the window. Is there any way to accomplish this?

I think the keyword here is "images," and you have answered that. In fact, that's exactly what I expected. My problem is that I actually have what I believe are conflicting needs/wants from higher up the chain here. I have been asked to produce a document that looks exactly like the original paper version but will work like clicking the "one page at a time" tool in Acrobat when you change the size of the window.
As you can see (and no doubt, expect) in my images, importing a PDF results in a page image which has a constant size in a browser. Unfortunately, importing or linking a Word document results in changed appearance, which is unacceptable to others here. If you have any suggestions for resolving my dilemma, I would be delighted.

Somehow firefox has started when i boot up. how do i stop this and only start it when i want to?

This started when I visited the website of Tom Tom GPS. Now every time I boot the computer, Firefox opens and my home page is Tom Tom. I don't want Firefox to open when I boot and I don't want Tom \Tom as my home page.

Once Firefox is open, you should be able to open the Right click context menu on the icon. From there you select 'Options' and then de-select 'Open at Login'. Hope that helps.

Receiving emails when I want to

How do I set up my 8520 curve to only receive emails when I want it to? At the moment it is constantly going of all day telling me emails have come in and I would just like to be able to open a inbox and then they all come in then..Like my PC
is this possible?
If not can I turn off the notification of emails received so it don't keep bothering me all day long ?

Set your Sound profile to Phone calls only or all alert off.
Maybe a holster would be good too, I set it up so that most alerts only do a short vibe in holster.

IBooks will not open with new ipad and upgraded iOS. It only opens briefly to show an empty bookcase. I installed the most recent update of iBooks. In apps store it says 'open'. But the same thing happens...a brief flash. Strangely, the image and list of my collection actually shows in miniature with all the open apps; so I can close it as I do any other app.

Now that you have your PDFs on your computer's iTunes library you could try deleting and redownloading the app, and then sync the PDFs back to it - as long as you continue to keep a copy of the PDFs on your computer (and preferably on a backup as well) then if the same thing happens again then you could delete and reinstall again (you shouldn't have any problems with the iBooks app, but then you shouldn't have had a problem this time either).
You could try GoodReader (you could have the most important PDFs in both) - but the current version on iOS 7 isn't getting very good reviews in terms of its speed and crashes (it's description page says that a major update is coming soon).

Prelude will ingest only the files that you have selected (checked the box next to) in the Ingest Dialog. Can you provide more information or screen shots of what you Ingest Dialog looks like BEFORE you ingest and what your Project Panel looks like AFTER you ingest?

Not sure what you mean by "tried to use Word". ExportPDF doesn't change what Word can do. Can you explain what you try and what happens in more detail?

I use Outlook for my email on the Safari web browser, and about 90% of the time when I want to attach a pdf or jpg file the email message will crash.

The only way I can get my Outlook to work is if I switch to Firefox web browser. I would rather not switch to a new web browser if I don't have to.
It seems like what ever the problem is that its related the Safari web browser, because it works fine on the Firefox web browser.
I think its some kind of plug-in failure because it giving me a LOC ERROR:
LOC ERROR: Unable to locate localized string for resource ID 5007.
How can I fix this Plug-in?
And, yes my softwer is conpletly updated…

This is my first time posting here, so I'm sorry, I re-read my post several times and honestly did think I provided enough information, but you're right, it wasn't the right kind. So please (continue to) bear with me, I'm really not trying to be ignorant. I honestly assumed the issue was something I was doing wrong in Bridge, nothing to do with my computer specs.

I work with jpg, psd, ai, svg, and pdf files. Most of my stacks are three different file types of the same image, usually jpg, psd/ai, and pdf.
I have not recieved any error messages
I am not having issues opening raw files, I am not having printing issues, I have listed the troubleshooting steps I have taken.
Is there any information you need that I missed? I'm trying not to be a dingus, but I'll have to ask you to be patient with me in the meantime. Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
See how you go.

The Cloud by the song indicates that is is an iTunes purchase but it is not downloaded on the iPod. If you only want download iTunes purchases to show in the Music app go to Settings>itunes and pp Store and turn off Show aLL.

Only imports audio, no video when using DSLR .mov files

I just upgraded to CS6 on my Mac Lion. I created a project using the DSLR settings and tried to import a .mov video clip taken from my Canon 5D camera. Strange thing is it only imported the audio and not the video. I tried many of clips and just audio.
As tests, I tried importing a .mpeg clip from an HDV camcorder and it worked fine. I also changed the extension of the DSLR clip to .mpeg and it still didn't work. The DSLR clips imported fine in CS4, but not CS6. Also as another test, I tried importing on a different Mac computer using Premiere Pro CS6 (from creative cloud) and it imported perfectly. So I'm not sure why it's doing it on my computer? The files open fine in QuickTime.
The only thing that worked was I exported the .Mov files from the DSLR to a HDV .Mov file and it DID import correctly. I don't want to have to go through that step everytime though (or loss the quality)

I too am having this problem. The video I am trying to import is a .MOV file from a Canon 5D Mark III. When I check the properties of the file in Premiere Pro 5.5, this is what it says:

As you can see PP 5.5 notices the video; it even tells me the # of frames in the video but it won't display it. It might be worth saying the video files from my Canon XF100 work just fine. This is extremely frustrating. Any help would be very much appreciated.
