Ibooks shows book update, list is blank

just as title says. Store tab shows 1 update for a book, i go to the update list, it is blank and it says ''you do not have any purchased books available for download", yet it is under the tab that says "updates (1)" this stupid Update thing is annoying the crap out of me. Its been there for months!

Update for a book or an update for iBooks?
If an update for iBooks apps then I suspect that the update is not compatible with iOS 6.
If an update for a book determine the current version of the book installed and go to iTunes and look at the version currently available. Maybe the version is not compatible with iOS 6.

Tapping the icloud arrow should get it to download to your bookshelf and it should then get 'downloaded' against it in Purchased instead of the arrow. See if any of the following fix it :
- close the iBooks app via the device's taskbar and then re-open the app and re-try downloading it : iOS: Force an app to close.
- soft-reset of the device : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.
- log out and back into your account : select the Featured tab in the app, scroll to the bottom of it, tap on your id and log out, and then log back in

I just got the iBooks update and that fixed the problem, except the book covers look like they were done in a government printing office.

After updating iOS to 6.1 in my iPhone 4s, while tapping 'Updates' in App Store, it is not showing the Apps list, though over the icon it is showing that 11 Apps has got Updates available.

i've had your same proble,
you have to go on settings-->itunes&app stores-->apple ID and sign out.
after this restart your device:
Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home buttonat the bottom center of the face at the same time.
Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it.
Wait until the white Apple logo appears.
ok, now go to settings-->itunes&app stores-->apple ID and sign in again
... for me it worked

Many people are having this problem for the last couple of days. This is a problem that Apple has to fix. If you look around the forum, you will see many, many discusssions about this and they have been going on for a few days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this is a workaround - for the time being.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
1. Go to App Store
2. Select Purchased
3. Select All
4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store.

It's a long running glitch, as the hundreds of threads on this topic demonstrate.
You can wait it out and wait for Apple to fix the servers or you can go into your purchased tab and manually download each update (you'll find the app icons with little update banners on them.
Alternatively, if you sync with a computer, you can use the iTunes on your computer to download the updates then sync them onto your device.

Super Awesome if there was a way to add iTunes wishlist to Reminders. Catorgised lists by music, movies, TV shows, books, and apps and using Siri to add new items and look up songs. Also with a direct link to purchase the item or ask Siri to.

ZCC Updates list is not accurate or doesn't show up.

I am seeing inconsistent or no results at all when I log into ZCC, go to "Devices", and look at the "Updates" column. I can patch, etc...using rug from the client with no problem, but would like to be able to at minimum, get an accurate list in ZCC that matches the output of "rug list-updates"
For example:
My workstation (SLED11-i586) has the icon in that column that there are updates available. When I click on it, I see 133 updates, similar to what is included in my attached file under the ZCC section.
Notice the multiple occurrences of the packages with high version numbers, etc.....
If I do a rug list-updates on my workstation, I receive what is included in my attached file under the RUG section.
A zypper list-updates pulls an identical list from NU.
FYI, the SLED11-Updates-bundle is assigned to a catalog that is assigned to the device, and the same has been done with the distribution bundle.
I have also noticed that when zlmmirror runs, it is re-downloading some of the same packages over and over again. An example output is included in attached file under the ZLMMIRROR section.
(command being used: zlmmirror m --force-nevra -c <xmlfile>
Sorry for all of the attachments, but I wanted to be sure to give all of the details of exactly what I am seeing.
Other devices do not show any patches in the "updates" column at all, even though there are outstanding patches, and some, like my workstations, are showing multiple occurrences of things that have already been applied.
We have a fairly new deployment of ZLM,and I am still working out the kinks, so I am sure that we probably have something misconfigured.
Any ideas? I would be very grateful for any assistance with this!

I had assumed that zlmmirror was just updating/replacing the packages in the bundle, and not incrementing the version each time there is an update.
Of course it updates the packages, but at the same time it increases the bundle version. The latest (deployed) bundle version has always only the highest package levels in. But if you check the bundle detail page in ZCC you can choose a different bundle version and check what packages was there in. But if you expect that you might get every day a sles 10 update, you could have another 365 different bundle versions a year on your zlm server. Therefor I delete the old version time by time.
Is there a setting to limit the number of versions that are kept of each bundle, or do I need to just manually clean that up from time to time?
No, there is no option to limit it.
I was hoping that the "Updates" column icon would give me a list of what is outstanding that matches the list provided on the device by rug list-updates, and that there would be some option to deploy from that list (similar to the Redhat RHN way of updating systems), rather than having to put the packages in a bundle that is direct assigned, or by using a remote execute script to do "rug up -y" as I have been doing. Looks like that is not an option, though....
The update list shows you all bundles on the zlm server that contain higher package versions then there are deployed on the managed device. If you want to deploy such a higher package version, you can select that bundle and assign it to the device directly and then it is a mandatory bundle and get installed the next time the device refreshes. If there are other packages in that bundle that have a higher package version, they also get applied at that time.
I assume you assign catalogs that you run the "rug up -y" frequently ?
Catalogs are just package repositories and nothin ghappens with the packages in the bundles of that catalog except you subscribe to the catalog and then run a rug up. That would check all package sources of the zlm client and install all available updates.
Regarding the zlmmirror and the multiple mirroring of the same package I need to check the hot patch 1 for 7.3. That might have a fix for that. Let me see, there is a tid for it.

Thanks for the post and welcome to the forum. I am very sorry to hear you have been locked out of your email account.
If I had to speculate as to what has happened I would think that when the home move order was placed your email address was not moved to your new account. If your email is not linked to a broadband account or premium mail then the message you are receiving would be correct. However its clear that this is our fault and I am really sorry about this. This is something that I can sort out.

The same reason why you can't use it under iOS5. It's exclusive to devices since the iPhone 4S.
(for selling new products)
So iPhone 4S, iPad 3, iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5.
Thinking about other features, you may be interested in 3D-Maps, but there for, you need an A5 CPU or better.
So iPad2, iPhone 4S, iPad 3, iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5.

Hi, Sly101.
I would recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device. If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close. Test the results after processing these steps.

Go into Settings > General > International > Language and choose British English, then hit the Done button. The screen will go black with a comment about Language Settings. Be Patient, especially if you have a lot of apps. Let it run it's course and Then open the App Store again. Voila! Upgrade list is back. And it stuck when i changed back to plain English. He doesn't know why. I don't either. But I am now a happy camper. Worked on my 3rd gen iPad and iPad Mini.
