IBooks -- sync current read location between two devices??

I have a book installed on both my iPhone and iPad. I might be reading on one or the other depending on circumstances. Is there any way sync where I am in the book between these devices?
For example I might be reading from the iPad on the plane but want to use the iPhone while waiting for dinner in a restaurant. It would be nice to sync the iPad and the iPhone once I land so when I do open the iPhone book later that night, I don't have to hunt down where I was.
Thanks

iBooks will automatically remember where you left off each time you close a book or return to your Home screen. Tap the bookmark icon in the upper-right corner to bookmark a specific page. Wirelessly sync your Bookmarks, Highlights, and Notes with your other devices using your iTunes Store account by tapping Settings > iBooks > Sync Bookmarks > ON.

    Restore from old iPhone backup can past all data including messages to your new iPhone. Or you can resfer to this iPhone 4/4S SMS to iPhone 5 transfer tutorial. It shows you how to transfer messages only.

    Can music be shared between two devices with different apple IDs?

    The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. iTunes content can be commingled in the iTunes library on a computer and synced to iOS devices. The computer must be authorized to use the content from the respective Apple IDs in the iTunes Store menu.

  • How do I Sync my itunes music between two different computers

    Can anyone tell me the step-by-step instructions for how to Sync my itunes music between two different computer.... one Mac at work and a second at home. I want to bring over all my work music onto my home Mac, some of which is the same but much of it is different.

    Are you able to connect the two computers in any way? For instance is the work computer a laptop that you can bring home and network with your personal one? If the two devices are connected in some away there are a few utilities that can help you sync iTunes across different computers. You could begin your research by having a look at these for instance:
    TuneRanger
    SuperSync
    syncOtunes

    And use the new address to call that device.
    What new address?
    Perhaps you mean the OP needs to add a new email address for his AppleID and use that email address.
    Yes. That's what I meant.
    Change the "You can de Reached by Facetime At" for one of them under Settings->Facetime->You can be Reached by Facetimer At.
    I probably should have specified "Change the "You can de Reached by Facetime At"(email address) ...
    NOW TO CORRECT:  Even though I said you could, you can't.
    I tried this out just now and you can't facetime a device using the same Apple ID.
    So yes, you infact need another Apple ID for this. Not just another email address.
    My Bad. sorry.  I don't deserve the 10 points.

  • How do I sync the same library between two computers?

    I have an iMac and a Macbook Air, and I am constantly buying music betwen the two computers, and my iPhone. I want to be able to sync up my iPhone on both computers, but it keeps telling me I have to resync my entire phone, which is just crazy. How can I sync up itunes? I have .mac to sync my contacts, mail, etc.

    I have an iMac and a Macbook Air, and I am constantly buying music betwen the two computers
    Constantly? The MacBook Air is brand new.
    Even if you sync iTunes between two computers With something like this -> syncOtunes, you will still get this message if you sync to the other computer. The libraries may be have the same music but they are not the same library.

  • How to sync a iCal calender between two people?

    Hello,
    I'm trying to find a way to sync a iCal-calender between me and my wife.
    We have two apple-computers, and I tried to publish my calender, and then my wife "subscribed" to it. So far everything works ok.
    The "only" problem is that the calender is writeprotected in her computer.
    My idea was that we should have a calender that is shared between us, so that we could cooperate with info in it. So that both could put info in it.
    Could someone please help me out.
    /Bernt

    Hi,
    With iCal you basically have two options: (1) publish and subscribe (as you describe below), where you each share a calendar, which as you point out is "read-only" to the viewer or (2) use a sync service (like .MAC) to keep the calendar synchronized (note: it sync's all of iCal, not just an individual calendar.)
    The next version of iCal coming with Leopard is going to support the CalDAV standard, and will allow for better sharing/collaborating with calendars.

  • Sharing music between two devices, iPhone & iPod Touch

    I have a company iPhone with all of my music bought through iTunes.  I just bought an iPod touch and need to know if I can share my music and apps between both devices.  I want my iPod to use my yahoo account as the default mail app and the iPhone needs to keep my company Outlook mail.  How do I set this up?  If I go into an apple store, will they help me/

    - For this:
    Thank you very much!  I just need to be sure my texts from my work iPhone don't show up on the iPod. I can turn off the iMessage app
    Go to Settings>Messages>Send and receive and make sure you emaill address and phone number do not appear. Delete them if necessary. You can then add her own email address so you can message her.
    - The iPod will only use a phone number for Messages if the Account used to set up the iPod includes an iPhone and the iPod has iOS 6. You can't add non-iPhone number to Messages on an iPod.

  • How do you disable the feature to 'keep iMessage conversations running between two devices'?

    I have 2 apple devices- an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2. When I set my iPad up and set iMessage up set it offered me the option to keep iMessage conversations running between the two devices, and i pressed yes. I now cannot stand this feature because every time I recieve an iMessage, I get two alerts, one on each device. How do you disable it?

    Hi DeltaNomad,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
    You can disable the Substitutions feature completely, or add words you frequently use to the substitutions list.  See this information from the Pages User Guide:
    Replace text automatically - Pages Help for Mac
    http://help.apple.com/pages/mac/5.1/#/tanca15d8a79
    When Text Replacement is turned on for the document, a checkmark appears next to Text Replacement in the Substitutions menu. You can deselect Text Replacement to turn it off, but existing text won’t change unless you select the text, and then follow the steps above.
    Choose Edit > Substitutions > Show Substitutions (from the Edit menu at the top of your computer screen).
    In the Substitutions window, select the Text Replacement checkbox, then click Text Preferences.
    Click Text, click the plus sign, then type the text you want to replace (such as “teh”) in the Replace column.
    Type the word you want to replace it with (such as “the”) in the With column.
    Close the window when you’re done editing substitutions.
    Click a button to replace all occurrences of the replacement text in the document, or only in the selected text.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • How can I sync to the last read location between devices?

    Dear forum,
    I have a large pdf file in the cloud (Acrobat.com) which I read both on a laptop and on iPad. What is the proper way to sync beetween the two, so that I can pick up on one device where I left off on the other?
    Thanks.

    Use transaction IDX2. The metadata must be deleted from the cache in IDX2, this can be done by selecting the appropriate system from the list, drilling  down the affected IDOC type and chosing delete
    The next time an IDOC is sent or received, the cache will be refreshed.

  • ITunes no longer syncs podcast pause locations between devices

    This is how iTunes used to work: If I was listening to a podcast on my iPod and paused that podcast anywhere in the middle, when I would sync the iPod with iTunes, that pausing point would be remembered by iTunes. Meaning... If I then started playing the same podcast in iTunes (after the sync with my iPod), iTunes would play the podcast starting from the exact same spot I paused it on my iPod.
    Likewise, iTunes used to remember and share that pause point BETWEEN my iPod and iPhone. Allowing me to listen to the podcast on the iPod in my car, take the iPod into the house and sync it with iTunes, and then sync my iPhone with iTunes and I could continue listening to the podcast on my iPhone from the same pause point.
    With iPhone 3.0.1 installed, iTunes 8.2.1 (6) installed, and Mac OS X 10.6 installed, NONE of the above is true anymore.
    If I pause my iPod and sync it with iTunes and then try to play the same podcast in iTunes, it starts from the beginning, no matter where it was originally paused on the iPod. And the pause point is no longer transferred from device to device.
    Someone please tell me that these changes are not a new "feature". Please tell me there is hope this will be fixed and SOON! Maybe the remembering of the pause point was causing consternation for some users but, let's face it, it's EASY to go back to the beginning of a podcast and it's impossible to remember where you left on in a given podcast, particularly if you listen to 2 or 3 different ones in a week and don't complete them before switching to another.

  • IMessages wont sync between two devices

    My iPad 2 and my iPhone 3GS will both individually send and receive iMessages but they wont sync a conversation.  Ex:  If I send a message to my wife that simply says "TEST" from my phone, the message I sent wont show up on the iPad.  I have checked to make sure that they are both using the same email address.  Anyone else experiencing this problem?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Itunes unresponsive when switching between two devices

    For God Sake help me with this,
    i have so many apps on my iTunes(mac) ,since i updated my itunes from 11 to 12 it has been my worst nightmare ever..
    whenever i attach two or more devices ,switching between devices it becomes unresponsive so that i have to force quit iTunes
    i googled this issue,tried lots of things.but no success
    plzzzzzz help

    Paul,
    Thanks for responding.
    I'm still confused as to which field the script goes in and how to enter it in relationship to any existing script.
    Instead of me trying to explain verbally, I'll show you what I have.
    Document Hierarchy:
    Subform path & script: (I'm assuming I need one for each subform)
    xfa.host.resetData("xfa.form1.Page1.subform1");
    xfa.host.resetData("xfa.form1.Page1.subform2");
    "Radio Button List" Click Event script that shows/hides subforms:
    form1.Page1.FLOC.RadioButtonList::click - (JavaScript, client)
    if (this.rawValue == 1)
        Subform1.presence = "visible";
        Subform2.presence = "hidden";
    else if (this.rawValue == 2)
        Subform2.presence = "visible";
        Subform1.presence = "hidden";
    if (this.rawValue == 1)
        Efficiency.presence = "visible";
    if (this.rawValue == 2)
        Efficiency.presence = "visible";
    I've tried putting the script  inside the curly brackets, outside the curly brackets, at various locations within the above script, but no matter where I put it, it clears the entire form.
    Would you be so kind as to re-write the above script  properly so I can see what it's supposed to look like.
    Thanks!

  • How can I best keep a current iPhoto file between two computers?

    I currently have an iMac and a Macbook Pro. I would like to be able to use iPhoto on both computers, but what I do with one computer, it doesn't sync with the other (sorry I didn't get Mobile Me when I could!!). Anyone have an idea of how best to manage this? Mainly I spend time organizing the photos (1,000s of them, getting them all in order) on the Macbook, while I would edit and make albums on the iMac. THANK YOU!

    This is an age-old question, and a tricky one. In theory, you could store the iPhoto library file on Dropbox or another service shared between both your Macs. However you'd have to be very diligent in making sure to never have both iPhotos open at the same time. I'm not sure what would happen if both Macs accessed the same file simultaneously, but let's just assume the universe would collapse.
    Alternatively, if you primarily EDIT on one Mac, but only VIEW on another Mac, and if they're both on the same local network, you could set up local sharing between the two computers. You can do this in the iPhoto preferences > Sharing.
    I'm sure there are other methods too, but the fact is iPhoto just wasn't designed for this.
