IBooks - trapped while previewing a book?

I downloaded a sample book (Chef Keller's "Ad Hoc"), but when viewving the book there is no "back to library button". Now iBooks is hung up just browsing this book, no way to navigate away? That is, I can use the home key to get back to home page, but when I select iBooks again it takes me directly into the book I was previewing.

First, double-click the home button to show the running apps and stop the iBooks app by holding it until the minus sign shows, then touch the minus sign.
Then Press and Hold the Home and Power buttons until the Apple Logo appears, about 10 seconds.
If that doesn't fix it, delete the iBooks app and re-download it. Make sure you sync first, though.

go to your settings, and first go to Safari and delete your history by scrolling down to "clear history and website data". Then go to the advanced settings and select ""website data". It should show 0 bytes. If not, clear again.
next go to iTunes and App Store in settings, and touch your Apple ID, the select sign out.
AFter you you sign out of your ID, restart your iPad by holding down the power button and home key simultaneously until you see the apple logo after the restart.
when you are powered up, go to iBooks. You should get a message that you need to sign in to sync up your books. Sign in, and that should do it.

Can I preview a book before buying it?

From iBooks can I preview a book prior to purchasing it? if so what is the process?

When you select the book it should open another window and show the book cover and the price on the left with a Get Sample button on the same line on the right. Touch Get Sample and it will download.

My iBook crashes when previewed or after exporting it and sync

Hello,
I designed a photography iBook, and added 2 gallery widgets of 20 pics each. My iBook crashes when previewed on my iPad 3 or after exporting it and syncing it to the iPad. It happens after viewing the book and interacting with it.
I have seen that the gallery widgets behave a bit sloppily when you swipe to the next pic, also the second row of thumbails (pics 11 to 20) don't show properly, some thumbails just don't appear.
What can I do? delete the widgets and start again? Is the iBook crashing because of them? Any user having this problem in the past months?

I did it, removed both, started from 0 again. Same problem, thumbails dont show for items 11 to 20. The widget in general works a bit sloppily always, no matter amount of items.
i tried to make images smaller in resolution, same problem.
only solution: never have more than 10 items per gallery, and split 20 photos in 2 different galleries in 2 pages.

IBook opens in Preview only ?

When I open a pdf in iBook, it opens in Preview
Yet it seems iBook has its own reader since there are commands like
See Table of Content etc

Well you can drag your PDF to the table of Contents>Books in the left margin
however, PDF will still open in Preview.
Books will open in the iBooks interface.

Preview my book on my iPad

Hello,
Previously I've been able to open my book to preview it on my iPad. I want to make some changes and wanted to check it again before I make the changes. When I went to open the book on my iPad all I can see is the two chapter pages - none of the other pages. I deleted the copy from my iPad and downloaded another one to the iPad and the same thing happened.
What am I going wrong all of a sudden?
This book is a children's picture book with a widget from hype on each page. Does this make a difference? Before I could see each page and view the animation without any problems. Now nothing!
I don't understand it because it worked for three weeks and now I can't get it to come up.
Please give me some direction.

I said I would wait and try to preview my book on my iPad again. Well I just tired and it happened again!!!
I don't know what is happening. This afternoon I was able to preview my iBook Author book on both the computer and my iPad with NO PROBLEMS.
Just now I tried to view the one I downloaded earlier and previewed with no problems and the same thing happened that happened before. I got the cover to appear in the iBooks app and when I clicked on it to preview all I got were two pages..... one said Chapter 1 and the other said Chapter 2. When I changed it to the list version I got Chapter 1 page 1 and Chapter 2 page 16 - NOTHING ELSE.
I viewed the same version on my Mac and it worked perfectly..... but not on the iPad.
I tried several other versions with the same results OK on the Mac --- NOTHING on the iPad.
Can you please explain what is happening???
Is it possible for me to send you a copy to see if the same thing happens to you?
Could there be something wrong with my iPad?
I have the latest update on it. I am able to view other books that I purchased but not the one I created.
I am at a loss and so frustrated. I cannot publish this if people can't see it on the iPad. What am I doing wrong?

No - you there is nothing more to explain - you boot into safe mode as described in the link in my post and try assembling the book while in safe mode - nothing more to it
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.

Try this:
Open your iBooks app on your iPad
Select the Store Button at the top
Select Purchased at the bottom
You will see your AppleID on the right at the bottom, then Redeem, then Support
Click on your Apple ID, and when the AppleID window comes up with the options, Sign Out
Then Sign In again and try redownloading your book

IBooks in Mavericks lost 700 books

For a short while, iBooks Mavericks showed all my books and pdf's. They all disappeared. I found the directory ~/Library>Containers>com.apple.BKAgentService>Data>Documents>iBooks>Books with about 700 folders, epub files and PDF's.
When I right-click to <Open In> and select iBooks, iBooks tells me the book is already in my library. But there are no books visible in any of the tabs in iBooks.
Some but not all of the books are on my iPad 4. I can'f find a way to sync the new iBooks with the iPad.
I hope someone finds an answers. I'm stuck.

I similarly had a very large library that appeared to transfer when I first opened iBooks on Mavericks. Only books purchased through the iTunes store showed up, and attempts to manually add others resulted in the same "already in your library" message, even though they were not visible. Moreover, I can see no way to manage which books to sync with ipad, iphone, etc except through iTunes, and no way to add new books in iTunes, or to edit authors names, cover art, or other metadata. Many of us have large epub libraries, not to mention PDFs, obtained by legitimate means from sources such as Project Gutenberg, Google Books, and other ebook sellers that are not available on the iTunes store.
EBEO's solution is not a fix. The message now is there are no books in iTunes to transfer.

Lost connection while downloading a book. Can't get it to finish after reconnecting. Status says downloading but nothing happens

I lost Internet connection while downloading a book through iBook app. Now it won't finish. If I go to the iBook store, the status says "downloading" I can't delete it or get it to download. Anyone have a suggestion?

I have the same problem, but it happened when I downloaded a sample of a book so I can not do the solution offered by Beachdogz. I would just buy the book but I can't because it says downloading so there's no buy option. Actually it says downloading downloading (twice) if that helps.

Mine does the same thing occasionally, is your phone jailbroken? Sometimes it will work if you delete the book and reinstall it or put your phone into airplane mode then turn it back off.

How do I get the table of contents to toggle? I opened it while reading one book I had checked out from my library, but it is still open when I start another book. I am using Adobe 4 and Windows 8.1 on my PC.

Thank you for your advice. I followed your directions, but came up with the same results. However, I did discover that whenever I open up the iPhoto Library that is already existing on my MacBook a certain set of pictures shows up. But then when I open up the iPhoto Library from the Hard drive another set of pictures shows up. BUT not ALL of my pictures are showing up on the iPhoto Library from the hard drive. At least the last two years of pictures are not showing up?! Actually, it appears that all the pictures are there from when I started using iPhoto about 5 years ago up until around the time that I got my iMac desktop computer and started using that (2 years ago). I have noticed that more recent videos I have made are showing up in a folder on the hard drive, but will not appear when I open up iMovie?! Any ideas on how to access my pictures from the last 2 years off of the hard drive???

Reporting Services provides a special account that is used for unattended report processing and for sending connection requests across the network. The account is used in the following ways:
Send connection requests over the network for reports that use database authentication, or connect to external report data sources that do not require or use authentication.
Retrieve external image files that are used in report. If you want to use an image file and the file cannot be accessed through Anonymous access, you can configure the unattended report processing account and grant the account permission to access the file.
According to the error message, password of unattended execution account has expired. To troubleshoot the problem, please refer to the following steps:
Start the Reporting Services Configuration tool and connect to the report server instance you want to configure.
On the Execution Account page, select Specify an execution account.
Type the account and password, retype the password, and then click Apply.
If credentials are passed in the connection string, you need to modify password of the connection string.

We are getting "System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory." while previewing the report in ASP NET Application. It is working fine in 3 enviornments but the problem is happening in production enviornment.
Tools Used : VS2005, CR XI R2, SQL Sever 2005

Deleting the temp directory contents then provide read permission to IISWPG process for "temp" directory or just for testing purpose you can provide the full rights.
