I called Apple Support and they walked me through it. They told me to basically copy and paste my music to the external hard drive. (I think.) I was having this problem. The settings on my wireless router was set to hide my IP address so it wouldn't connect. When I changed that, I connected no problem. While this is annoying since I don't want my IP address to be out there, I just switch my router when I need to connect to the App/iTunes Store. Hope this helps. It worked for me.

Don't rely upon just TimeMachine as a sole backup system, it's problematic and very hard to manually recover from if there is a problem.

My epub book that I purchased months ago is no longer compatible technology for the ibook. When I first purchased the book it was working fine. How do I fix this? I never even got a chance to read it!!!

settings->itunes & app stores should show your current appleID

TS1398 What to do when you keep getting the message "Can't Connect to ITunes Store" ?

This is the second new phone I have had in less than 3 months with this very same problem. After 3 days of talking to more Apple reps than I can remember, they finally got my replacement phone working last week and now it's back to the very same problem I had to begin with.
Has anyone else had this problem and how did you manage to get it fixed?

I have been unable to "update all" apps through my iphone and ipad. all my software is up todate, i have been to see numerous apple genious's and i even traveled to Cupertino to try and solve this issue. i am able to buy single songs, single apps, etc. the only Clue i can give that might have a relation to the issue is before the problem started, I was signing up for icloud and my itunes username totally disappeared from my devices. i was able to "resecure " the same username, but i think that somehow itunes to differentiating the two identical user names i had??? but as i said, i can still buy single apps, music, etc.
i am going crazy. can anybody help.

Have you tried a Hard reset on your Device?

Cleartune has updates available, but I keep getting a message saying "cannot connect to Itunes store" all other updates work just fine? The one app I paid for is the one that for some reason will not work. How can I upgrade without buying it again?

I loaded cleartune a while back, there are upgrades/updates available, which I'm trying to load. When I choose update, it asks for my password, which I provide and I get a message saying "cannot connect to Itunes store" I have many other apps I've loaded and upgraded just fine. This is a very interesting situation. I did try to update one of my apps within itunes as was suggested. That worked !!
But then I noticed that I had 2 different logins that I must have created over the years. I almost forgot. I have a apple ID and an AOL ID. It seems that I purchased (actually they are all free) some apps with one ID and other apps with the other ID. I must have done this by accident.
So when I log out of one of the IDs on my Touch and then log in with the other ID, I can update the apps.
It seems that something changed on Apple's servers. It seems that until recently I was able to update free apps regardless of what ID I originally bought them with. Now it seems that's not the case. Apple must check this now.
Now that I know what the issue is, I'll make sure I use one ID all the time.

Every time I tap install or buy in the AppStore it gives me "can't connect to iTunes Store" -I'm running ipad mini ios 6.1

OKay guys what happened: My ipad mini was working fine as good as it should be. I was able to install games and multiplayer with the apps. And suddenly everything changed when I tried to go play multiplayer it says something that I can't do multiplayer cause there's a connection problem or something that the Internet/wifi doesn't work..
but I'm connected at maximum 3 bars in my wifi. Also every time I go to AppStore , it loads the games and features but no updates. When I search games they appear. I tried to buy fifa 13 but after I tap the buy button it gives me a message of ""Cannot connect to iTunes Store"" AND I WAS SO MAD AND IRRITATED I turned off my ipad and turn back on nothing happens. I reset the network/just settings nothing happens, I turned off my router and back on . Still nothing happens. Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.

If you can't open a particular ibook then try deleting it from the bookshelf via the Edit button at the top right of the bookshelf, and (assuming that it's still in your country's store) redownload it via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the app (or if you have a copy of it on your computer's iTunes library sync it back from there).

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
