Ibus japanese input not working in gnome

Just like the title says. Both in gnome 3.10 and 3.12. It works for a little time sometimes, but the japanese input gui just disappears after a while and I can't get it back. Any tips?

You might try fcitx with mozc instead.

Kotoeri Japanese input not working at all on Leopard

I recently installed leopard, wiped HDD and did fresh install. after doing all my apps and transferring data etc, i found i couldnt setup up Japanese input (kotoeri). Japanese was not listed under the input menu tab of international settings in system preferences. So i found out somewhere else i should install the japanese language from the optional installs pacakge of the dvd. so i did that, and kotoeri now appears in the list of input menus, but it doesnt work. All the sub options (6 of them for hiragana, katakana etc) all appear in japanese script (which is weird, they appeared in roman alphabet in os 10.4, and the icons look strange too). Anyway, if i select one of them, im not able to type at all in japanese, it just continues to type in english. I tried many different apps, windows, finder windows etc. Nothing. Is there some way to install this functionality, i really dont want to have to install the os again..

I've not heard of anyone else with your problem and don't know of any possible fix other maybe a reinstall. If you know Japanese well, you might try asking in the Japanese forums:

Line-in input not working correctly in Garageband

Problem:
Line-in input not working correctly with Garageband. Problem occurred AFTER installing and using Blue Yeti USB mic, purchased from the Apple store.
System Details:
'07 20" iMac 2.4GHz 4GB RAM, OSX 10.6.5, Garageband '11 v6.0, Logitech Z4 speakers.
Background:
Before using the Yeti USB mic, I used the line-in jack. I'd connect a Shure mic or guitars directly in, but more recently through a 12 channel mixer. Have connected the Shure mic directly into the input jack, and the computer appears to be picking it up (System Preferences->Sound->Input), it is responding correctly there. Have set the output to the headphone (line-out) jack. When I go into Garageband, I can select from Line-in 1, Line-in 2, and Line-in Stereo. The trouble is that it's the iMac's built-in mic that is active (the one above the screen), not the line-in. I've rebooted the computer, checked the connections, reconnected the Yeti mic and I can't find what's causing the problem. Not sure what to do from here, need some help. Thanks

I have Logic Express on the iMac as well and I worked out how to set the input device back to the Line-In. I went back to Garageband and found the equivalent setting under Preferences->Audio/MIDI. Thanks for reading, sorry I didn't sort it out sooner! Merry Christmas!

Xorg 1.6.3.901 input not working

I recently had to reinstall Arch on my laptop after a hard drive crash. I had a working X11 setup with XDM and ratpoison, though I'm not sure which version of X I had and I have no way of checking that. Trying to get 1.6.3 working in my new install has been a pain. The radeonhd graphics drivers appear to be working fine on my RS690M, but keyboard and mouse input are not working. I've tried using the synaptics and plain evdev driver for the mouse, hal/no hal, and turning hotplugging on and off in the server. None of this is working. If I run startx with a minimal xinitrc starting an xterm, I can't use the xterm, and if I start XDM, it appears to be receiving a steady stream of return key presses, because rather than showing username and password fields, "Login Incorrect" is flickering at the bottom of the login window.
Hardware: AMD Turion 64 x2, synaptics touchpad, ATI RS690M chipset mobile graphics card, laptop keyboard (Toshiba satellite l355d-s7809)

Wecam and USB mic input not working after upgrade to Lion

The audio inputs (micraphones) all show up in Syetem Preferences but if I talk into the microfones (on USB soundcard/Trust Webcam) no levels are being shown, I have tried clicking on eatch input it turh but n luck.
I am getting the impresion Lion broke lots of audio atuff so dont hold up mutch hope for a solution (Except upgrading to Snow Leperd).

Beginning with Leopard, Mac OS X supports the so-called UVC web-cameras, you do not need any driver for them. I have just bought a small, pretty and cheap one, Logitech C110.
My older Genius 1321 is unfortunately unusable from SL onwards, but works with Tiger and Leopard. It is not UVC, and drivers are not available any more.
conclusion: if your camera is not UVC will not work via ‘plug-and-use’, you need an updated driver, check with the manufacturer. If they do not offer any, buy a UVC one, they are very cheap, but you do not need anything. The one I have just bought works fine, and also has internal mic.

DPMS/Screen blanking not working in gnome-shell

The title pretty much sums it up. I've tried setting screen blanking in gnome-control-center->power, but it doesn't seem to work. However DPMS has worked in pretty much every other WM I've tried by default.
I've installed gnome-shell and gnome-control-center. Not using gdm.
I've tried 'xset -dpms' which apparently should've helped at least in earlier gnome releases, but it makes no difference on my system.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Apparently there's been an issue where xserver's dpms settings get in gnome's way, and disabling dpms with xset has helped some people in arch forums and others. Although if I'm not mistaken that issue should be fixed already.

Dropbox appindicator is not working in Gnome shell

Hello,
I have installed "dropbox" package from AUR and also "gnome-shell-extension-appindicator-git" (and it's dependencies which are libindicator and libappindicator and some other packages) from AUR too.
My appindicators are now working except for Dropbox and Skype. (but Skype is not my problem here)
The only relevant information that I have found about my issue is the link below but that does not seem to help too.

My problem is that Dropbox is still showing it's systray icon instead of it's appindicator.
Anyone has faced the same problem or would you have any ideas? I would appreciate your help.

Kazakh keyboard input not works

Hi.
I'm can't figure out trouble with kazakh(cyrillic) input to text controls in Flex4.
I'm embedded unicode fonts, and "Copy->Paste" kazakh text from notepad into flash app works fine!
But i need to keyboard input. In my case ordinar cyrillic letters inputs normal, but kazakh-specific
letters (located in keyboard's 1234 and 7890 keys) not works - ? symbol displays.
Please, anyone help me. I'm wasting 2 weeks in attempt to resolve it.
P.S: FlexSDK 4.0.0.12321, FP 10.0.42.34, OS Windows.

When you paste and it works, take the string and look at the charCodeAt() for each character in the string.
Then when you type, see if the keyDown event is reporting the same charCode or not.
Another test is to verify that your browser can allow those characters when typed into an HTML INPUT tag.

MP3 Car Input not working with Iphone

When I plug my Iphone into my car's mp3 Aux input using my current mini plug connector (which works fine with my Ipod)) the music continues to play out of the iphone and not through my cars' stereo. The car is set correctly as the ipod works fine. Am I doing something worong?? Does the iphome not work in that situation? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

because of the iphone's recessed headphone jack, it's likely your cable is not fully inserting into the jack. don't try to force it in there. people have done things from shaving down the plastic on a jack to trying to shop for adapters that fit.

ALL HDMI inputs not working dead on LED wifi 32SL415U TV

Using Toshiba LED WiFi smart tv screen between TWC cable box & occasional gaming/work computer connected via HDMI on both. Since install of TWC 2 mos ago sometimes Cable box goes on fritz and I'd call TWC a few times to reset box. Last night complete black out while using computer, chkd cable box (which is always connected to tv), not working either. Trouble shoot revealed HDMI cables are fine, also bought new HDMI cable, didn't help, so all at once (3) HDMI inputs are DEAD.Connected old VGA cable btwn TV & computer so screen works now for comp...TWC still not working w/HDMI cable.Going to TWC store, hopefully they'll give me components & CISP to try install myself.I've reset cable box & reset Toshiba to default then re-installed box & still no HDMI. 1st question: Is this a known problem that has a basic solution when using TWC w/smart TV & computer used alternately because I see many complaints about this issue online? Since many have this prob then does Toshiba sell the board? Where do I find a repair place in my zip code? link?2. Is it a power surge problem? I've read because apt buildings are notorious for electrical grounding issues that a CISP on incoming coax may help keep this from happening in the 1st place or resolve issue if you put in a new board? 3. Had absolutely np w/Toshiba b4 (except it needs a Qwerty board for net tv & youtube) since I bought it in 2011. Time Warner Cable tech came today. Hooked up components, cable works now. Still a pisser on why this happened only after hook-up install of TWC box. Good luck!

Touch input not working intermittently

I have been using my Winpad 110W for over two months now. Lately the Touch input started to stop working intermittently especially after resuming from hibernation or from cold boot. I have to use the virtual keyboard by using the mouse or attach a USB keyboard to login. Under Windows 7 64bit property field will indicate the Pen and Touch field do not have Pen or Touch Input detected or found. In Device Manager the Microsoft Input under HIDs also missing. I tried to rescan for drivers and etc but still not working.
I have to reboot the Windpad a couple of times and then suddenly it will start working. Ihave the latest drivers, firmware, bios and softwares.
Anybody experiencing similiar problems?
I have also found from my supplier that they are starting to sell the Docking Station NOE111W for $180AUD.

I have noticed this happening when in sunlight or under bright lights. The little mouse pad is the culprit, cover it up and you should be able to work with the touch screen just fine.

Edirol UA-25EX Sound Input not working after 10.6.6 upgrade

Hello,
I am using an Edirol UA-25EX sound card for sound input (mike) and output.
Since I upgraded to 10.6.6, sound input is not working anymore.
I tried to unplug / replug. I tried to reboot. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Edirol's driver for Snow Leopard.
Nothing worked. Any help ?

By switching the sampling rate at the rear of the device, unplugging and replugging it, I manage to make it work again

Caps/Num lock LED indicators not working in gnome

I have a qPad MK-85 mechanical keyboard, and I can't seem to get the LED status indicators for the lock keys to work.
The CAPS and NUM lock function still works, but I don't have any indication whether they'r'e on or not.
It only seems to be under gnome I have this problem, because they're working just fine in grub, windows, and tty2-6.
I have done a search and it seems a lot of other people with mechanical keyboards have the same problem, but no solutions.
So.. anyone here have any solutions?

I have got following URL for one of my web application -

and it works fine. It has got a few variables and as parameter passing I would like to pass on default value to variable.

there is a possibility to modify WAD applications by using parameters to call Web applications ([SAP Help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/43/ef05462480025ae10000000a1553f7/content.htm]). Just tried it with
a dummy query on our system and it works for queries which are executed directly from Query Designer as well.
Just give it a try like this extension:
