IC Webclient - How to integrate in Portal? (CRM 7.0)

Hi,
I like to integrate the CRM IC webclient UI into the Portal. I managed integrating with 'normal' CRM Business Roles (ie Sales Profesional) using the guide in SAP Help where you export the business role and then upload into the Portal where it generate all the required iviews, pages, etc.
But this does not give me an option to export IC Business Roles.
We do not really want to launch the IC webclient in a seperate window from the Portal. We like the IC to be integrated with the same look and feel and menus as the Portal. As said earlier the other business roles work just fine, dont know why I dont get an option for the IC.
Any advise will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Adriaan

Thats rare to integrate the IC WebClient inside the portal window . Generally you want to maximize the space within the IC Window to make it one page all information application , see more information about customer in a single window, minimize browsing by agent.
Also I can think of is you might have issue around time out .  Generally IC Webclient , the requirements are to have more timeout as Agent might be walking out / breaks etc and they don't want the IC to time out ( multiple business reason , trackin agent status ) . These requirements will clash with your Portal timeout requirements.
This is not a answer to you question but a suggestion.

  • How to integrate the portal system with non-sap system

    Hi Gurus,
How to integrate Portal system with non-SAP system?
I know few ways .......Using Usermapping UIDPW method.
Using Appintegrator .....and using Business repository objects in JCA?
Is there anyother way to integrate if so please give me the names and steps for integrating it?
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi Dharani,
You can get information from the following links:

SAP CONNECTORS:- Basically Connectors are like middlewares , that we use to connect to the backend system including Non SAP systems also. Will try to explain it to u with some examples of SAP Connectors:-
    a) SAP Business Connectors:-
A middleware application based on the B2B integration server from webMethods.
The SAP Business Connector enables both bi-directional synchronous communication and asynchronous communication between SAP applications and SAP and non-SAP applications.
The SAP Business Connector makes all SAP functions that are available via BAPIs or IDocs accessible to business partners over the Internet as an XML-based service.
The SAP Business Connector uses the Internet as a communication platform and XML or HTML as the data format. It integrates non-SAP products by using an open, non-proprietary technology.
    b) SAP Java Connector:-
SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo) is a middleware component that enables the development of SAP-compatible components and applications in Java. SAP JCo supports communication with the SAP Server in both directions: inbound calls (Java calls ABAP) and outbound calls (ABAP calls Java).
SAP JCo can be implemented with Desktop applications and with Web server applications.
SAP JCo is used as an integrated component in the following applications:
    1) SAP Business Connector, for communication with external Java applications
    2) SAP Web Application Server, for connecting the integrated J2EE server with the ABAP environment.
SAP JCo can also be implemented as a standalone component, for example to establish communication with the SAP system for individual online (web) applications.
    To Know more go through,
    SAP Java Connectors
    II) ALE Concept:-
ALE is not restricted to communication between SAP systems, it can also be used for connecting SAP Systems to non-SAP systems.
By using IDocs as universal information containers, ALE can reduce the number of different application interfaces to one single interface that can either send IDocs from an SAP system or receive IDocs in an SAP system.
SAP certified Translator Programs can convert IDoc structures into customer-defined structures.
Alternatively, the RFC interface for sending and receiving IDocs can be used in non-SAP systems.
In both cases you need the RFC Library of the RFC Software Development Kit (RFC-SDK).
This link gives a great insight into landscape for Connectivity to Non-SAP systems:-
    SAP to Non-SAP systems
III) Communication Between SAP Systems and External (Non-SAP) Systems using RFC:-
When you use RFC for communication with an external (non-SAP) system, you can also implement the SAP Java Connector or the SAP .Net Connector for the conversion of data. However, there are no specific security requirements for these components, since they only perform internal system conversion functions.
The additional security recommendations for communication with external systems in this section make particular reference to cases where an external system is used as a server (SAP calls the external system). If you use an external system as a client (the external system calls SAP), the appropriate SAP-specific security mechanisms are implemented on the SAP side.
This link explains in detail all the security considerations you need to take for connecting to an External Non SAP system like, User administration, Network Security etc.
Communication Between SAP Systems and External (Non-SAP) Systems using RFC
    Hope this helps,

  • How to integrate BW with CRM?

    Dear All Experts,
I need to integrate BW 7.0 with CRM 7.0. I have searched alot on forums regarding this. The more I search the more I got confused. some thread says that all CRM reporting is done from BW whereas some says standard crm reporting is done on crm side within Web UI Client.
First of all, I want to activate standard CRM reports which are available on Web UI client and want to show them on the UI Client within CRM. My functional CRM consultant has done configuration on his part to enable those reports. But I have read that in order to view these reports on UI client BW side configuration and extraction is required (BW Adapter Metadata- I know these settings).
On one document, I have read that data is extracted into Local BI client. So my questions are:
    1) Do I have to install BI client on the same machine where CRM is running or can we have separate BI machine connected to CRM system just like normal ECC extraction and after extraction I want to show those standard CRM reports on CRM web UI client for end users.
    2) Normally, when you install datasources from RSA5 and then install data targets with "before and after flow", datasources are automatically linked with data targets in workbench hierarchy. But in CRM case data sources are not linked. It is because transfer rules are not available for all CRM data sources. Therfore, no datasources are automatically linked with data targets in hierarchy in data warehousing workbench. I have to find out manually and link them with data targets by creating transfer rules. (transfer rules are not even given in standard CRM BC).
    3) Some of the datasources are not available and seen either in RSA5 or in RSOR tcode. It seems that these datasources are missing. How can I find those datasources?
Your expert opinion and solution is required.
    Regards,
    Farrukh Hanif

    1) do NOT put them on the same server... trust me (you'll "lock" each other... hint: CRM jobs run at night... and so do BI loads)
    2) in BW 7.0 you should try to avoid transfer rules and other "old" elements
    3) there's another logic with regards to DataSources in CRM (as compared to ECC)... I can't recall the transaction(s) by heart though (and not on a CRM project right now - I believe this should be mentionned somewhere in course CR900)... you could always try to find them in table ROOSOURCE though

  • How to integrate Oracle Portal running on Oracle Application Server 10.1.2

I have an Oracle Portal running on a Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.
Portal is responsible ( along with OID ) for the users authentication and authorization.
There is a new JEE application that was developed recently, which the Portal users must have access to.
HOW can I put a link into a page of the Portal, that redirects the portal user to a new browser window displaying my new application?
HOW can this new application, running in a separate weblogic 11g (10.3.5) server, automatically authenticate with the same username/password previously authenticated when the user logged into the portal?
    Any ideas?
I´ve already thought in a bunch of ways to do it:
    - put a link into the portal with a sessionId, then when opening the new app, it automatically tries to use the same session. How can I configure this session id during the creation of the portal's page? How can I use it from the new app to use the same session?
    - put a link into the portal with a userid, then when opening the new app, it automatically tries to authenticate using a different authentication provider configurated in WL, which points to Portal´s OID. In this situation, how can I ensure that the user is already logged in and the session has not timed out?
    - Should I use OSSO?
    - Should I use OAM?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Murilo

    Hi Murilo,
A portletized version of your J2EE app would probably have been ideal for your purpose as it would handle both authentication (through SSO) and session information (through Portal framework as the framework can pass session information to the provider/producer). This would require changes to the application however.
Easiest approach would be to use mod_osso to protect your J2EE application. SSO would then handle the authentication for your Portal and your J2EE application.
    Thanks,
    EJ

  • How to integrate Lotus Notes and upload Help Docs into SAP Portal

    Hi Experts,
I got 2 questions with regards to content in portal...
    1) I got nearly 30 to 40 help documents (PDF & WORD) which users may refer when accssing CRM & BW system in portal.
Currently they are stored in the Local Drive....i am trying to find a way to upload them portal...so the users can always have the docs the require
    and
    2) Can any one please update me in detail ...on how to integrate Lotus Notes into portal and configure Single Sign on  currently my Portal and Lotus Notes user id's are different
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Geethika,
    1. IF documents are on your local computer, Netweaver Portal has a KMC Addon (Knowledge Management and Collaboration). Within KM it is possible to run a Document Management Scenario. You can Create Folders within KM, give Access Rights to Users, Create an Iview to browse KM Folder then add that Iview to a Page or Role so users can access it.
For this, please chech the online documentation via http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/20/b46d42ea0b3654e10000000a155106/content.htm
    2. For Lotus Notes Integration, your Lotus Notes Server must be running on Windows Platform.
For the rest configuration please check the following:
Single Sign-On from SAP Enterprise Portal to Lotus Domino

I've the latest version of SAP Ticket Verifier, if you couldn't find it, I can send it to you.

  • Can google search B2C catalog details if CRM integrate with portal?

    hi, guru:
    One question:
if CRM integrate with portal, it is possible that search engine(Google) can search catalog details, there is an OSS message and it seems that as long as they make the appropriate settings for web crawling and the page is static they can do that.
However, do you know if a Search Engine would be able to find the B2C catalog information that is sitting within the Portal (as this is framed and I think B2C needs to be non framed to be found)?

    Hello Chen,
Barring other issues you may have with (a) the OSS message that explains how to create the crawler indexes for catalog items and (b) the ability to display catalog in Portal, a solution is theoretically possible.
<li>Give the [PCD (Portal Content Directory) URL navigation|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/2d/91e33edd37de63e10000000a11405a/frameset.htm] for the B2C catalog to the crawler generator. This should theoretically publish the carwler indexes with target to the portal PCD URL link for the particular catalog area or catalog item.
    *Gotchas to watch out for*:
<li>Proxy, reverse proxy, firewall etc that may be used in the portal / non-portal scenario for external users. I can't give the details of how to solve such issues, but that would require a good consultant. So, plan to consider these in your project plan.
My advise: first check this in non-portal environment to eliminate any issues around the crawler program itself.
