IC WebClient Shared Services Business Roles

Dear All
I have a question regarding the some of the IC Webclient Shared Services roles provided by SAP.
I know that as of CRM 7.0 EHP 1.0 SAP provides separate roles for Accounting Interaction Center, Employee Interaction center and ITDS- IT HelpDesk Role along with a  Shared Services Agent Role.
I want to know that  is it recommended to combine the Accounting Interaction Center, Employee Interaction Center and IT HelDesk role into one role or the opporsite way of using separte roles for separate functions.

Well...it depends.
If you want your agents to handle all types of calls and you don't have a big-big company with many employees and a big support desk, the best option (due to maintenance reasons) is keeping everything in a single business role with a multi account identification profile.
On the other hand, if you have agents with separate and independent account, IT and employee tasks and your business processes are different depending on who is on the phone, you need three different business roles.
So, to summarize, it depends on your project needs and your company size.

  • Problem when we log into the Webclient with IC_AGENT business role

    We are facing a problem when we log into the interaction center ( with IC_AGENT business role) after the login screen ( we fill the correct user and password) then system starts the application, but a error appears.

  • Shared Services 11.1.2 + Provisioned Roles for Business Rules not reflectin

    Hi,
    I have provisioned users to have 'Basic' role in shared services for Business rules. We are using Calc manager + classic planning app. However users are unable to see the business rules associated with the forms due to which the rules dont run on save. Is there a intermediary step which I am overlooking?

  • An internal database error occurred in the Business Data Connectivity Shared Service. SQL Error Number : 229

     Recently i upgraded my SharePoint server 2013 to SP1, after the upgrade i received following message in manage database Status page " Databases running in compatibility range, upgrade recommended" 
    for Business Data Connectivity Database. Then i ran Sharepoint Configuration wizard, which fixed that error on that page but i am getting a error message while accessing BDCApplication page in manage service applications pagein central admin"

    The BDC Service application failed due to a SQL Exception: SQLServer host WSQLD05\DV. The error returned was: 'The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'proc_ar_GetAdministrationMetadataCatalogByPartitionId', database 'sp_BusinessDataConnectivity_DV13',
    schema 'dbo'.'
    I checked the Db role of the service app pool account, it has SPDataAccess permission over the Database. i cant recreate another application without knowing the root cause. I hope i can get better option to troubleshoot the issue.

    As per the error message, you can at least grant the BDC service application pool account the EXECUTE perimssions on the sp_BusinessDataConnectivity_DV13 database

    where can we get the below mentioned thing....i tried in service market place but i did not get

    Hi Sreeram,
    The roles you want to assign to the user you have to select for your scenario. The best practice role assigned to an user to navigate to the webclient. The other roles you assign to the user to give authoraization for your scenario. If you will go to C04 document you can get the standard roles which will be assigned to one particular user. For the standard user let sal SALES_MAN we assign the standard roles as peer the best practice as SAP_CRM_UIU_FRAMEWORK ,SAP_CRM_OR_ADMIN, SAP_CRM_OR_USER and BP_SLS_MANAGER. If you need other authorization for the user then copy the standard role and assign the authorization manually in transaction PFCG.

  • Problem with Business Rules access from Shared Services

    Hello,
    When trying to access Business Rules from Shared Services (expand Business Rules and click on the application) I get the "Refer to the Security Guide to configure security permissions for this application" message, but the user is fully provisioned for Business Rules. It happens even logged on as admin. Access from Administration Services works fine. The version Hyperion system 9 (9.3.0.1). What is wrong? Help, please.

    You can't access Business Rules from Shared Services. This is no different from any other application - Planning, Essbase, etc. You can provision users to the application roles, but you can't actually do anything with the application, other than security, in Shared Services. You use Admin Services to maintain Business Rules.

  • Business Rules Instance disappeard in projects folder in Shared Services

    Hi all,
    I have this strange thing happend to me today morning. when i logged into the Shared Services i can find the Business Rules folder but i couldnt find the instance for it.Is there any way i can reconfigure it so that i can see the instance back again in Shared Services.
    Environment: Windows server, Hyperion version 9.3.1
    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Task List Access Manager Role in Shared Services

    Hi
    The documentation says this role "Assigns task lists and tasks to other users". I have assigned this role to a group (in Shared Services), I have given that group Manage and Assign access to the Task List (in Planning), and have even done a security Refresh.
    Yet, when I go in as a user who is in that group, I do not see the Assign Access button in Manage Task Lists.
    Is this a bug or have I missed a step?

    Have you tried generating a provisioning report in Shared Services, have a read of :- http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_cas_help/provrep.htm
    If that doesn't suit your requirements then you could always have a look at using CSSImportExportUtility to export provisioning to a csv file. The utility is located in hyperion\common\utilities and has a pdf on instructions how to use it.

  • Missing roles in Shared Services 9.3.1

    We are going through an install of 9.3.1 at a clients site. Planning is working correctly with shared services, but Financial Reporting is throwing this error found in SharedServices_security.log:
    2008-05-02 11:53:50,718 [ExecuteThread: '13' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default'] WARN com.hyperion.css.spi.impl.nv.NativeProvider.getHierarchicalRoleTree(Ljava.util.Map;Ljava.lang.String;Lcom.hyperion.css.common.CSSRoleNode;Ljava.lang.String;Lcom.hyperion.css.spi.util.jndi.CSSDirContext;Ljava.util.Locale;Ljava.util.ResourceBundle;)V(Optimized Method) - Exception getting Child Roles in hierarchy due to Illegal or invalid id.dflt passed in. Please check the argument.
    When attempting to connect from Financial Reporting Studio or Workspace we get an error stating:
    "You are not authorized to use this functionality. Contact your administrator."
    We are running WebLogic 8.1 service pack 4 on Windows Enterprise server 2003 sp1.
    If anyone has seen or worked through this error, please respond.

    Got resolution on the error. Look for css-9_3_1.dll in HYPERION_HOME\common\css\9.3.1\bin on the server where Financial Reporting is installed. This dll enables FR to communicate with NTLM. Oracle support stated that "This dll is not included in the PATH by default because nobody uses NTLM anymore." When I asked them why it was not documented despite the fact that NTLM continues to be listed prominently as a supported authentication repository, they had no reply. Watch for this one to bite you!!!

  • Essbase Application Doesn't show up in Selected Roles in shared services

    Hello all,
    I have few essbase applications which donot show up in the"Selected roles" column in Shared services though the user has been provisioned with the application. Infact the provisioned users can access the application based on the provisioning, but just that I as an administrator donot see it there in the selected roles department. Again this is only in "Selected roles" column meaning I can see it in the "Available roles" column. The application has been registered in EAS and I have also refreshed the security in EAS. We are on 11.1.1.4. Any ideas anyone?

  • Shared Services: Role Assignment

    When I try to assign the privilege of "Server Access" from Shared Services to a user, clicking on
    Essbase:servername:1 -> Essbase:servername:1 the tree does not open, but opens Default Application Group -> Essbase:servername:1.
    If I add the privilege of "Server Access" by:
    Default Application Group -> Essbase:servername:1 -> Administrator -> Create/Delete Application -> Server Access
    user can't access to Essbase from Excel.
    in addition Essbase can not see the users created through Shared Services. Only the admin user is displayed.

    I faced the same issue with the server access role. If I provision an Essbase Application role , the User can access the particular application. However the user can access the application by just provisioning the Application Role anyway. Then why is there such a role called Server Access? I am using 11.1.2.0 version.

  • Business Role, Technical Profile, Application, Start Page in UI for service

    Hi CRM 2007 gurus,
    I have made all the settings in accordance with C04 to use the UI for the services role (copy of business role SERVICEPRO). Created the relevant PFCG role and a position in the org model; with a user and the business role assigned to the position. But I am getting an empty page on login.
    Then I changed the technical profile from DEFAULT to DEFAULT_IC; then it started giving an error "Permission denied".
    I then changed the start application to CRM_UI_FRAME and the start page to DEFAULT.HTM; then Internet Explorer started exiting on its own after the login.
    Can someone pls tell me what is amiss. Do I need to include some specific application and page as the "Startup Application" and "Start Page" in the technical profile (these are currently blank for the technical profile DEFAULT attached to the concerned business role).
    Points to be won; kindly help asap.

    Hi Deepak,
    few cents that might help:
    - Your problem is definitely not related to authorization issues. (easily derived by the nature of the error message and the point where it occurs (CL_BSP_WD_STREAM_LOADER))
    - The error message you received is being raised when CRM UI runtime tries to load a runtime repository. In case a runtime repository of a component has dynamic parts (e.g. the shell part itself), the repository is being loaded by the system via HTTP or HTTPS, depending on system settings. This results in the system sending a HTTP(S) request to itself.
    Now, there are two likely reasons for this going wrong:
    a) the system cannot "see" itself on the network (hosts problem, reverse proxy sceanrios, etc.)
    b) the runtime repository doesn't exist at all (ressource doesn't exist). This sometimes happens if component enhancements are active in a client (customizing settings) but the respective enhancement component (development objects) haven't made it into the system.
    c) In your case we can rule out this one: the SICF service for the UI component is not active - in that case the response would likely have been something like "Access forbidden" and you confirmed already all SICF services being active
    To get more clarity, you might want to proceed as follows:
    - Set a breakpoint in the line mentioned in the error message. You can access the source code of the releavant method using SE38 even though the include name looks pretty scary in the message (CL_BSP_WD_STREAM_LOADER=======CM02 or so).
    - In the debugger, check the name of the URL that had been tried to access (The variable should be available some lines above the breakpoint where the request gets sent).
    - try to access the same URL directly from your browser.
    Now, if you still don't get a valid response, b) might be the case. If you get an XML file back, a) might be the case.
