ICal Alarms- email (me)- Alarms go to "SENT" in Mail instead of INBOX

I have alarms set up in iCal to send me an email alert. I use Mail, with my gmail acct. and the alarms go to my inbox on the gmail website, but the SENT box in Mail. I rarely use Gmail from the web, so I really need to figure out how to make sure the alarms go to my INBOX in Mail. I've tried setting up rules to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I had a rule setup to push gmail messages I send from the web to my sent box in mail, but have disabled this hoping this would solve my issue; it hasn't. I would like to keep that rule, and have an exception to it if "Alarm" is in the subject. Is this possible?
Thanks!

  • Email alert in SAP when i receive mail in SAP inbox

    Gurus,
I create a notification in SAP.I am sending the notification thro SAP mail. The person who is getting the mail should receive a alert that a mail has arrived. Is it possible to set the alert?

Yes Buddy ! there is a way. If you are sending it using SBWP then just check the box (having column Name:Express in Recipient TAB) next to the Recip. Type column. Or If you are sending it thru FM then set the Flag EXPRESS in Recievers Table (tab).
let me know if still any confusion.

  • Can iCal send email alarms to someone other than self?

I would like to have iCal send an email to someone other than myself via an alarm. Is that an option and if so, how is it done? Thanks in advance.

If you have a ISP based email it can only be sent through Mail via your home ISP connection (or the same ISP elsewhere).
If you use the ISP's web page email access then you can do it from any machine or on any ISP.
Most people use a free web based email like GMail or Yahoo, then they can access through any computer with a web browser anywhere.
I haven't used Mail in years.

  • Not receiving iCal alarm

My iCal alarms are being sent (I can see them in my sent folder in Mail), and they are showing up in my gmail account online. However, they aren't showing up in my inbox in Mail, and I'm not having trouble receiving any other emails.
    What could be the problem?
    Thanks.

  • Ical alarm default email is incorrect, how do I change it to match "my card" in address book.

When I create a new event in Ical the default email that appears in the ical alarm drop down menu is incorrect.  I have changed My Card in Address Book to match my new email address but ical still wants to use the old email address.  I have also completely deleted the old email account from Mail too.  Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

If you've updated the account to have the correct email email address on the other devices tap on the old id id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and log out of it and then log back in with the updated version of the account so as to 'refresh' the account on them.

  • ICal alarm to send email or open script

I know I can set iCal alarms to send myself an email. What I'd really like to do is:
    1) have an iCal alarm that prompted a script
    2) that would create an email message where I can fill out a template
    3) to send to a pre-addressed recipient to remind them of something that needs to be done.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help!

It looks as though the Mac application I was thinking of was AIM, which is still at version 4.7 from 2004 (and still available for download at aim.com). You simply entered a mobile phone number as the buddy and used the application's text messaging.
But I don't know whether it is scriptable.
There are web sites which provide the SMS send feature for free, and Safari is scriptable, but its a bit more of a task to script a web site that may change its display.
Of course, if his mobile has an email address, an email will work (mine is through O2 and has an address).

  • Why do my Ical alarms since 2001 suddenly get sent over and over again?

Hi all ... After a change of Logic board, the Ical Alarms since 2001 get sent over and over again, completely blocking my mailbox.
Is there any way to delete these Alarms once and for all ?
    Thanks for your help !

Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll (or Save Image if you have iOS 8), then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account), choose Delete from My iDevice and provide your password when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud).  Then sign back in (your data will download back to your device).  That should stop the ongoing prompts for your password.

  • Adding a new email address to iCal alarms

This is probably very simple: but how do I add a completely new email address to the alarms? Each time I try to add a new alarm, it gives me the options that are already created - and I need to add a whole new email address. Help, please!

    dixiebelle,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Select (click) the "alarm" field in the event Info window, then choose "Email" from the drop down menu. Click and hold that selection, and you will then be presented with all of the email accounts which are listed in your Mail application, and your "My Card" in your Address Book application.

  • ICal alarms, a deteriorating problem?

This problem of iCal's failure to send alarms when an event comes due, has been reported in previous threads and in other forums. But now I think that this situation grows worse over time. Here is my experience.
In Tiger, and the iCal version I was using then, I could set up an event in iCal and have it send me an email when the event was coming due. This email got sent even if iCal and Mail applications were not left running.
I upgraded to Leopard (10.5) and email alarms would not get sent under these conditions (iCal and Mail not running) but a message could be sent to the desktop.
I then updated to 10.5.1 and the email alarms seemed to be working for a while. Then at some later date, the email alarms stopped getting sent again, but the alarms to the desktop still kept working.
I worried that something else I installed was interfering.
Now, however, I find that neither email alarms or alarms sent to the desktop will happen if both iCal and Mail are shut down. (My computer never is off and never sleeps, only the screen is set to blank with inactivity.) I haven't tested thoroughly but it seems that when iCal is started running next time, there is a flurry of activity as it tries to catch up. I really haven't installed anything new in the period that this latest failure mode has developed.
I have sent feedback to Apple and would have expected a fix after so much time (10.5.1 has been with us for quite some time) but now wonder how widespread this problem is, since discussion seems to have fallen off.

    daniellight,
Try downloading and installing the Mac OS X v10.6.5 Update (Combo).

  • Mail not recieving ical alarms from gmail

the only emails that mail does not retrieve from my gmail account are ones that i have sent to myself from mail as well as email alarms sent from ical. would like to recieve the ical alarms! please help

    Nate,
    Welcome to the Discussions.
A peculiarity of POP access with Gmail, is that you cannot send, with the gmail account, a message to yourself, and then have it download.
A Gmail account is a bit odd in its behavior. It is primarily designed to be used with web access, but does allow POP access. The server assumes that for POP access you only need to see what you have NOT read, and further assumes that downloading is the same as have read a message, and the same with a message from yourself. Because of this, you will not download message sent from someone else, on but one computer, without some manual intervention.

  • No Alarms Work/ical alarms not firing. I have a solution that worked for me

If anyone has had a look at this thread and still not found a solution...

    try this (busycal)...
    http://www.busymac.com/index.html
I was having serious problems with my iCal alarms. They just weren't firing reliably, and I tried so many things to get it fixed. Nothing worked until I installed busycal. it's perfect! It's been totally rock solid for 20 or so days and I just purchased a full licence. Has very neat features like LAN sharing and google cal syncing. Even if it didn't need these features, I'd still use it because I rely on alarms firing, and busycal does it without issues. Support is also excellent (they email quickly, with accurate/helpful replies, and they've even made suggestions to me about settings I can change to make everything run more smoothly. amazing!) the quality of support, frequent updates and reliable alarms is worth the small registration price along!
and no, i don't work for them, i'm just a very happy user and hopefully it will help some other frustrated ical users out there!
    alex =)

try busycal support. they really are excellent and i'm sure they can help u work towards a solution. click "email support" in the busycal help menu.

  • ICal alarms aren't reliable

Since getting my new iMac (and even after upgrading to the new OS), my iCal alarms don't always go off. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for why this is or which events the alarms go off for and which events the alarms never happen for.
I have one alarm set to go off every day at 10:45 am. Until yesterday it was fine. Now it hasn't gone off for two days in a row. (This alarm was rock solid when I was using a G4. Then I got a new Mac, synced everything, and it worked fine for months afterward. Then, yesterday, all of a sudden, no alarm. Again this morning, no alarm.)
When I set my alarms and appointments for the upcoming week, again, some work, some don't. I've triple checked the settings and I don't think I'm doing anything wrong when setting the alarms.
I live by iCal and really need this fixed. Help!

My experience has been a little different. When I upgraded from Tiger to Leopard 10.5 email notifications of events I had scheduled in iCal ceased to work. (Alert messages to the screen with sound still happened.) Then the 10.5.1 update seemed to fix the emailing notification problem.
But for some reason, recently the email notifications have become unreliable again. I set up a test event yesterday and never got notified. Then today a regularly scheduled (recurring) event came due and it did send an email which seemed to trigger the missing email from yesterday as well.
And unlike the situation when running 10.5, sometimes the event will cause the Mail app to open but not send the email. In 10.5 the Mail app never responded in any fashion.
Later... Since writing the above I have read other threads on this and the following has some interesting thoughts:

  • ICal alarm corruption?

My iCal alarm options are showing some funny things:
send email to <myemail> 15 minutes before
send email to <myemail> 23025 minutes before
Play sound "my email" 15 minutes before
    None - corrupted information.
Any one now what this is and how to fix it?

I have had the same problem for some time. I have reported it at least once but in spite of there being a number of updates to MacOS X since then, nothing has changed. It must be a very simple piece of code to fix.
I keep hoping that it will be fixed in the next update. Maybe in Snow Leopard.

  • ICal Alarms Unreliable

    Hello,
After months and months of experimenting and researching how to make iCal alarms more reliable I am at my whits end with it all. Things work, then they don't, or they never work, or the popup occurs but I don't get the email or vice versa or my ipod reminds me but my mac does not I could go on and on but I can't understand why I need to spend hours and hours fighting with software to make sure its performing a core function. I am missing meetings and reminders to perform critical actions. I was hopeful that Snow leopard would fix everything but alas it has not. I sync through Mobile Me by the way.
Any advice from anyone? I am so busy I cannot do without a calendar and a helpful reminder system that I can rely on, but just trying to babysit iCal all day has become untenable. iCal just keeps missing the mark on reminders...

Hmm. I would suggest that you make two separate recurring events, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, each alarmed for say 15 minutes before. Do not make them all day events.

  • SMS Question - General and ICal alarms

I'm a newbie to SMS -- yes, believe it!
    A couple of questions:
    (1) Does it only work phone-to-phone or can you send someone a text message via computer. If so, how do you do that(i.e. my sprint was <[email protected]>. Is there a like address with ATT SMS?
    (2) I want to set up my ICal alarms to go to IPhone..how can I do that, or do I just use the calendar function? Do I just put in my phone number or do I need an e-mail SMS address as I mentioned above.
    Thanks!
