ICal alarms not working when my mac has been off during time of alarm.

Surely there is a way to make all the missed alarms go off when I do turn my mac on? Please help!

To clarify, I set an alarm for 10am.
My Mac is off all night until 11am when I turn it on. When I do turn it on I do not get the 10am alarm!
Am using Macbook Pro 15" OS X 10.6.8

2. Shut down the computer.
    Clean the trackpad with moist not wet microfiber cloth.
    System Preferences > Point & Click
    Try turning off three finger dragging and then turning it on after testing.
3. Is there any Bluetooth device nearby with failing batteries? If so, replace the batteries.

    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
6. Close all windows and quit all applications.

    select Macintosh HD, then First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk Permission
    Ignore the time remaining estimate.
    Last 1 minute may take longer.

The only phone I've ever had that would turn on and sound the alarm is a Blackberry. So, I'd hardly say "most phones" have this function.

okay, you know this is for the Mac pro (desktop mac) rather than the MacBook pro, right? That being said, sounds like you have a problem. Turn off your screensaver, if it's on. if it's a hardware problem, eg the GPU, then take it in. If it's software, try running disk Utility and repair permissions. Failing that, get out your original install dvd's, boot up from them, and try "Archive and Install"

Today my mbp 17" has been crashed few times... finally I found the killer app is dotMacSync...

see those memory usage there.. I only have 2GB .= 2000MB physical RAM
steps:
1. startup the mac
2. launch mail, safari
3. enable bluetooth
4. sync .mac
then the machine starting crawling... the spinning icon ... everything's really slow...
dont know how this happen... I dont have such kinda problem w/ 10.5.1 .. sigh.
anyone else has the same problem?

I am experiencing so many crashes on my brand new mbp 17", no fun at all. I always have mail, safari, Bluetooth and sync. Mac switched on. I will try and switch off sync. Mac immediately to see if my system improves.

It can't! When it is sleeping iCal isn't doing anything. When you wake it, iCal should pick up the missed alarms and notify you.
Leave the machine running if you need the alarms.

Changes made in Book Module do not "stick" when the book has been duplicated

Lr 5.2 stand-alone version (not CC) – Win 7 64-bit
I had made a duplicate of the book (right-click the book Collection and select <Duplicate>). Then I made changes to the original book – changed the font for captions and for body; changed the wording of the body text; changed the padding for images. At some point in the process these changes did not '”stick” anymore. The changes were visible as long as I worked in the Book Module. But the changes were gone and the book reverted to the previous state as soon as I went to the Library and back to the Book Module. Same thing happened when I closed Lr and re-opened it.
Replacing the Preference File did not change this behavior. But when I deleted the duplicate book the behavior of Lr went back to “normal”, i.e. the changes now “stick”.
In my opinion there must be a bug that prevents that changes “stick” when after a Duplicate of a book has been created.

You're not the only one using TCS1. I, too, must endure Adobe's initial FM-RH Integration software offering with its limited patches and multiple workarounds (I don't sound bitter, do I?).
Do you have the latest patches?
When you say you modified titles in your FM book, did you modify the document titles from the book file, thereby changing the file names? Or did you change heading styles within a FM document/chapter?
If you changed the file name in any way, verify in the RH Project Manager that all links to the referenced FM files are not broken. If any file links are broken, you can resolve them in the RH Project Manager.
Changing a heading name within a FM document should not cause you this grief, as long as the file links between FM and RH remain intact.
As I don't know your level of experience, I'll make an suggestion to someone new to FM-RH integration (although, since you're using TCS1, I presume you are an experienced user). When updating the RH project, are you selecting Force Update or Update All. Force Update applies changes made in FM to your RH project. Update All only applies changes made in RH.
Also, RH has a feature that allows you to select specific topics to ignore when running a Force Update (i.e. changes in FM won't be applied to the selected topics). Make sure no topics are selected for this purpose.
If all else fails (and I don't recommend this unless you tried every other possibility), delete and re-import the book. There's another thread that helps you through this process without you having to manually reapply your settings.

P2P Replication Not working after DDL Chage has been replicated

I am using SQL Server 2008. And I have configured the DC DR P2P replication for High availability.
In DC i had dropped one column. after that my replication is not working i am getting "A DDL change has been replicated error" in replication monitor.
In order to resolve this issue i had tried to drop the same column in DR. But still the replication didn't work.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

Hi,
You have two options to make schema changes to the replicated database.
1. Drop the replication, make the changes, and recreate the replication.
2. Make the changes and let P2P replication take care of the changes.
If you drop the column from the table at the Publisher by using
ALTER TABLE <Table> DROP <Column>, the column will also be dropped from the table at all Subscribers.
In this case, the column was dropped in application. I have not tested this situation. I agree with Ashwin. You may recreate the replication to resolve the issue.

Poster image not working when I turn browser javascript off

I have inserted a poster into the downlevel stage and the poster image has been uploaded to the correct folder, along with all the JS files. So, I am not sure why the poster image doesn't display when javascript is turned off in my browser.
Any suggestions? Thanks

The downlevel stage is for browsers that don't support modern standards -- not for disabled JavaScript. JS is required for Animate content to display on both modern and legacy browsers.
You might want to try manually placing an image with HTML/CSS in place of the AN stage if you need to support browsers with JS disabled; which IIRC is a very small percentage of viewed web content

Is this right? My Nokia alarm always used to go off at the desired time even if the handset was completely switched off, but my iPhone doesn't appear to be able to do this?

The iPhone is also not completely off, but it doesn't do anything noticeable when off (such as disturb others in a movie theater by sounding its alarm).
But then of course nobody would surely be so stupid as to set an alarm to go off when they're going to be in such a place.

Do you mean an external HD in an enclosure with USB 2 or a USB stick? In any case, open Disk Utility and make sure it is formatted as OS X Extended (Journaled). You can also Verify and Repair the volume.
