ICal All Day Events One Day Off

Once again, I am unable to use my Calendar... This time because any All Day event, subscribed or synced from gmail, are one day off. Seems like a problem that has been around for some time but I just ran into on an update to iOS-5. Any ideas? Switching the dates on all of my other calenders to fit the iPhone problem is not an option.
Also, no fix on 5.0.1

I just upgraded from Blackberry to iPhone 5. Have Outlook on work computer, and Enterprise server. I also have calendar issues, with all my all-day events showing up one day early. I have years of data, so I can't go back and change it all manually. Have tried turning Time Zone Support on and off, with no change. The manually set zone is correct. Any help would be appreciated.

• All day events one day out (early)

Hi
I sync my iPhone 3GS calendar with my Outlook 2003 calendar and yesterday noticed that any All day events were listed on my iPhone for the day before they are listed on Outlook. I have completely deleted my calendar and restored it (which seems difficult in itself) and completely restored my iPhone as well to no avail. What am I doing wrong and how do I rectify this issue. BTW I have only noticed this in the last week and strangely any all day events prior to this week were correct - I can only presume this is something to do with the clocks going forward here (UK) last weekend?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Nigel

Another one suffering the effects of this, most annoying.
It does seem to be effected by ALL DAY events only.
If i remember rightly, when i updated to the latest version of iTunes, all of my ALL DAY events ended up changing to be spread over 2 days. Initially i thought little of it and made the changes, but it has go worse.
If i create and ALL DAY event on the iPhone, when i sink with Outlook, it shows the all day event as running from 0100hrs on the day i set to 0100hrs the following day, thus spreading the all day event over 2 days.
Definately think this is a day light saving issue affecting people in the UK?
I presume a fix hasn't been found yet, I certainly hope Apple are fixing it.

• All emails from one day lost!

We have a GW 7.03 clustered environment running on NW 6.5.7.
All emails from one day on one of our POs has been lost, ie: on the 21st of this month all received, sent, work in progress and calender items for all users on one of our POs were lost.
The only difference between that problematic PO and the other 6 POs, is that its GWCHECK.db became much bigger in size then the other 6 POs one day after the loss! Also the GWCHECK.log at the root of the PO shows several attempts to run scheduled gwcheck jobs with failure: "Failure 'writing' GWCheck database (WpckSetItemStatusByDrn)" in the log.
Subsequent logs from the GWCHECK.log files on subsequent days are normal. I have since re-created the GWCHECk.db and restarted the PO, since then the log is the same size as other POs.
I cannot find any other indication to show me the reason for loosing the emails from that day!
The PO never ran out of space!
Question (s):
1- Could the scheduled task cause email loss based on the above info?
2- If the lost email was never deleted by the users, is there a way to recover those emails form a restore PO location? (knowing that the restore area will show only deleted messages)
3- Will the only solution if the above statement is true is to load the restore PO against an isolated POA while allowing Client/server & Direct access for client connection?
4- Any idea what caused the email loss?
Thank you

After all: a restore executed - by mistake - to the live environment after midnight on the day of! this made it even harder to detect from the GW aspect, but could be confirmed through our backup system logs. What made the matters even worse; the fact that the nightly backup was running as well!!
The timeline from the Gwcheck logs alligned with the restore logs which also resulted in "bloating" the "NGWCHEK.db" to lamost 30 times as much as normal, since the system went into a loop trying to execute the scheduled maintenance jobs.
Thanks!

I am not sure if there is a way to accidentally purge a given days mail. What about an accidental restore? The gwchecks might be in response to a failure to access the databases and the PO tried to recover them. Look at the poa and mrs logs and see if you find any database errors being reported.
Has another episode like this happened since?

Pay no attention to iinami, the amount of replies to people saying their handsets must have been jailbroken everytime iTunes throws out an error is tremendous. (Clearly you don't need to have any real knowledge to get to level 3 on these forums, let's hope apple's geniuses know a lot more than some of their customers.)

Solution below.
Error 9
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

• ICal + iPhone + Exchange 2003 + Outlook 2007 + "all day" Events 7 hours off

Whenever an ALL DAY event is created on either the iPhone or iCal when the event is synced thru Entourage and into the Exchange Server and into Outlook 2007 the appointments are off -7 hours which I believe works out to GMT with Daylight savings time kicked in. Times are correct in Entourage. Correcting the time (making it an ALL DAY event) in Outlook 2007 and the resulting re-syncing does not impact Entourage, iCal or the iPhone. Since iPhone is syncing via iCal as the first step, I believe the issue is with iCal no the iPhone.
Time Zone Support is OFF on iCal and the iPhone.
iPhone updated to 1.0.1
iTunes updated to 7.3.2.6
iCals ver 2.0.5.1069
Vista Premium and Outlook 2007 Fully Patched
Thanks

This had no impact on the problem. I have confirmed that this is an issue with iCal and not the iPhone. An all day appointment on for example August 15 created in iCal shows up correctly in Entourage syncing to an Exchange Server. However, when the appointment propogates to Outlook 2007, the All Day event now displays as from 7:00 pm August 14 to 7:00 pm on August 15.
Time Zone support has no impact regardless of setting on iCal.
Close inspection of the Event in Outlook shows ALL DAY is selected but the greyed out times are from 7 to 7 as described above.

• Changing the deafult reminder time on Outlook All Day Events without turning off reminders

Hi All,
This has been something that has bugged me for years but now even more so I (and my colleagues) have work phones linked with exchange. I am tired of being woken up at 6am the day before an all day event has been set in my calendar.
I have multiple people update my calendar and the reminder time is not always cleared on an all day event. I (and others) want to keep a default reminder time set as it is a useful addition to the majority of calendar appointments, but for the life of me I
can't fathom out how to change the default 18 hour reminder time that is set on All Day events.
I have never understood why MS have made this reminder time set to eighteen hours, which means that the reminder always goes off at 6am, before the majority of office people wake.
We currently use Outlook 2007, but will probably update to 2010 in the foreseeable future.
If this can't be set in Outlook (?!?!?) can it be forced as an administrative policy?
ChrisChris

Hi Chris,
This has been asked for before, but there are no current plans to change the default of "18 hours" or to allow a means to modify the value.
As a workaround, you can use code in a macro, script, COM Add-in, etc. to reset the Reminder time to something more adequate to your needs.

• Displaying more than 1 all-day event per day

I am going through the laborious process of entering data on my new iMac having previously shunned iCal on my MBP. All seems to be progressing well until...
In the first month I edited, 2 all-day events coincided and they displayed perfectly. However a few months later the same 2 all-day events coincided and, despite them being identical to the previous occurrence, only 1 event shows correctly and the second appears as 3 small dots. I have searched high and low for an answer with no luck. I have deleted them and re-entered in case there was an unseen error - same result. I cannot figure out why one day shows correctly and another not ? Any ideas or explanations ? Thanks, in advance.

I have several multiple entries on the same date and they all display in the calendar on the Iphone. This might be because I recorded these entries on the phone and not the computer.

• HT202337 list all-day events in day view on Mac icalendar with Yosemite upgrade

Before I upgraded to Yosemite, I loved that the day view of the iCalendar on the Mac showed all the calendar events (including all-day events) in a list view. Now that I have upgraded, the day view shows in the same format as week view with timed events primarily displayed and all-day events at the top in a small section with a scroll bar.  I use all-day events a lot, and would much prefer the list of events (including all-day events) when looking at the day view!  (It is this way on the iPhone, but no longer on the Mac icalendar.)  How can I get back to this listed events in the day view?? Or if not, is there a way to move down the bar underneath the all-day events section (to show more of the all-day events at a time)? PLEASE? Help??  Thank you in advance!!

• My imac G5 turns off on mi then dont want to turn back on at all but after one day turns on mormaly then turns back off again

my imac G5 turns off on mi and dont want to turn back on at all but nex day tuns on normaly then tuns back off again

It could be several possible issues.
1)  Your G5 iMac could be overheating.  Depending on which model, you might be able to open the back by yourself (not on an iSight model), and using a can of compressed air, youcould blow the dust out of it.
2)  The power supply could be going bad.
3)  The hard drive could be going bad.
There could be several others.
If you have the original, came with the iMac when purchased new Install Disks, you can try running the Apple Hardware Test to see if it can determine any hardware issues.  It can't always find the problem.
Good luck.

• Calendar events one day ahead

My Calendar events are show on the correct days when I view the Calendar on the "Landscape" view mode, But when I look at the Calendar using the "List" view mode all of the events are shown to occur one (1) day earlier. Is there a way to fix this?
I purchased a iPhone 6 last week and synchronized my account using iTunes. I didn't notice any issues until today, but this may have been occurring since the beginning.

I have the same problem. HELP!

• Server refuses all connections randomly one day.

I got home from school, did my homework, and tried to print it through my mac mini server running CUPS. It says the printer is offline. I tried SSHing to the mac mini, but I get this:
ssh: connect to host 10.0.1.31 port 22: Connection refused
I also run a minecraft server from it, and I can't connect to that either. The server also won't show up under the "shared" section of the finder. (AFP)
I tried turning off the firewall, but that didn't help. I also rebooted the computer. Does anyone know of something I can try? The server can connect to the internet fine.
It's being assigned a static internal ip via my airport extreme.

Forget me. My iMac somehow connected to the public network, not the one the mini was on.

• All-day iCal events made on iPhone sync to Mac as one day late.

Had this problem a little while now, can't remember what started it, but it hasn't always been like this. I remember first being aware of it near the end of last year because I wondered if the problem might correct itself once 2011 began.
If I create an all-day event on the iPhone calendar, it will sync to the mac's iCal as being one day later. If I enter an event on my phone that's all day, Saturday the 5th of March, it will show up on my computer as Sunday the 6th.
Events which are not "all-day" are completely unaffected.
Both devices are set to the same time zone, with the iPhone having timezone support on and the mac having timezone support off. I've toyed with trying different combinations of these settings but nothing changes. I have to manually drag the mac iCal events one day earlier once they're synced. This fixes it, because it doesn't appear to then bump the iPhone copy of the event any earlier.
But that's a massive pain and I've lost faith in iCal as a timekeeping device. Anything glaringly obvious that I've missed?

I have this problem too. I have an iPhone 4, and this wasn't a problem when I bought the phone back in December. I think it came a month or so later and I suspect with a standard upgrade of something like itunes, or iphone software... but I can't pinpoint it to any specific update as it took me a while to notice it. For me, it does this with my work calendar which is run through Microsoft Outlook. But it's the exact same thing - and it means my calendar isn't reliable anymore.
I've made sure the time-zone settings are correct, I've updated all software, and gone through all possible settings for both my i-phone and Outlook. Nothing fixes the problem, even our tech guy at work didn't know what to do. I know it's not just my phone as the exact same thing has happened with my boss's iPhone which is an iPhone 3G, and it frustrates him to no end.
I'm really hoping someone at apple can tell us what's going on, especially since it never used to do this and there doesn't seem to be any way to fix it. If someone thinks they know what itunes update this was due to, let me know - I'll see if I can go back to that older version.
