Ical broken help?

ical will open with month calendar populated but can't click on any item and can't move between weekly, daily or monthly view. After opening the only active function is quit ical. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the discussions, tworivers.
Is this new behaviour? If so, have you added or changed anything recently? (Applications, settings, fonts ...)
Meanwhile, try dragging com.apple.iCal.plist from the Library/Preferences folder in your Home directory to the Desktop and see does that help.

  • Samba4: Debugging broken helper responses with ntlm_auth

    Hello.
I've been using mod_auth_ntlm_winbind+apache2 for NTLM authentication on my Arch web server. I decided to go through and overhaul my old server (thank you dropbear and busybox, makes all the fuss with breaking glibc/filesystem trivial), and in the process samba went to samba4. I'm completely up to date as of yesterday.
Now, all of a sudden I'm unable to get a proper handshake out of ntlm_auth, and nothing has changed with the config of my box.
I'm able to kinit a ticket, klist shows it fine. I'm able to net ads join (I did a net ads leave just to start from scratch), wbinfo -u/-g works fine, net ads info reports sane information, it all _looks_ good, until I try to auth via apache. Then I get a handshake response of "BH NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL" which seems to be the most vague error ever.

I've cut out the base64 strings (I parsed them in an offline tool, they look fine) just for privacy.
Does anyone have an idea on how to even begin to debug this? I've got no idea where to go, I perused the source of ntlm_auth but it seems to just be a helper into winbind, and that's a bit too big for me to eat right now.
    Thanks!
    Matt

Well, I downgraded to samba 3.6.10 (last version I had cached) and everything works now, I only wish I knew what was wrong. I'll stick with 3x. Not sure if I should mark this solved as technically it isn't?

  • ICal Server Help PLEASE!

    Help,
We are trying to setup our new network and hitting issues!
Installed and configured 105 Server in standard mode, activated iCal services and allowed user access.
On the users machines (also running 10.5) we used Directory Utility to connect to the Server and configure the user machine and auto configure the applications. We then opened iCal and created a new CalDAV account and auto linked to the server. It connected fine and everything seems to work!
BUT! Now if iCal (the app) is not running on the server, when we open iCal on a user machine it duplicates the account and sets it as unable to connect (with a broken icon). Yet the original calendar is there and functioning correctly. If we have the iCal app running on the server and then start the user iCal app it does not create a second account and runs fine.
Why is this second account created when the servers iCal app is not running?
As a final question is it correct that each user has their 'own' calendar that everyone else can then access and, if allowed, edit? Hence the need to add delegates.
If that is the case then what is the calendar that appears under the CalDAV connection? How do we directly edit that calendar from each users machine?
Hope that makes sense and thanks for the help!

  • Ical broken in 10.5.5?

I downloaded the latest os release, and now ical appears to be broken. Is the download, or something else that I have done wrong? I opens up, but I can't add an appt or see any calendars. Also, the month in the lower left is January, 2001. Is it just me?

I have the same issue. It started yesterday. Is there a solution to the problem that doesn't involve reinstalling Leopard?

  • Broken Help Topic URL

    Hello.
I just downloaded the aqualogic integrator and am using it's workshop.
I tried finding tutorials through the help menu and found the following link on a page in the help contents:

This link seems to be broken at the time of writing this. I was able to find what appeard to be the Japanese version of this page.
Can someone point me to the correct URL for this or a different Business Process guide/tutorial?
    Thank you
    Kris

    That will work. Thanks.
I am looking for any information oh how to model process using the WLI portion and how to integrate that with the ESB portion of the Aqualogic Integrator 921.
If you can recommend any good resources I would greatly appreciate it.

  • Return/enter key is broken, help please.

So basically, after I downloaded an update for my computer, restarted, blah blah, my enter key broke. Also, my mouse would flash randomly sometimes too, and occasionally i would type a word only for it to be highlighted for some reason and I would accidentally delete it. But my main concern is the enter key. It's making using my macbook very difficult, and I would appreciate it if someone could help. Also, I'm using a 13 inch Macbook pro from late 2012, and the update was an update for mavericks, but I can't remember it's name.

It's probably broken. I've never heard of software breaking a keys, but it's possible, so you might want to back up your data and do a clean install. If it still doesn't work , it needs to be repaired

  • HP Simple Save 2 TB External Hard Drive (3.5-inch, USB 2.0) Broken HELP!

OK so I've searched around for a solution to my problem but have found no answer so I'm trying here.
I've had my HP Simple Save 2 TB External Hard Drive for a few of years now, it's served me great, I used it for storing all my photos but the usb connector has snapped off from the small CD drive inside the casing.
This has simply been through use, it was working fine, not wobbly or mistreated in any way, it must have just came to the end of it's life and now I can't hook it up to my computer to get the photos, I'm desperate to get them back, wedding photos, birthdays etc most of you must know how I'm feeling.
So I looked up a few solutions, one was to buy a USB-to-IDE/SATA adapter and use that to connect to the computer, well it works as far as recognising that a device is connected but won't load the files or folders to view.
As I've looked around apparently the small CD drive that's inside the case has software that my computer automatically loads? Now this is where I'm lost, how do I manage to get this to work?
I'm almost at my wits end, as far as looking every single day on Amazon and eBay to buy a new one to transfer the CD drive onto the broken one to load it up and get my photos back, IF that would even work, I'm not sure.
So if you have any suggestions/help please please get in touch, thanks.

In case anyone it´s interested I restore the autorun.inf into the drive and the problem was that I put all the toshiba software into one folder to be more organized. As soon as I place it back again outside the folder (in the root of the hard drive). It grab the canvio image.

  • ICal - Need Help With Multiple Calendars

    Greetings All,
Is there an easy and fast way to merge multiple iCal calendars into one? I have probably close to 100 calendars all due to iTunes & Mobile Me syncing! Problem is with OS X Lion it doesn't seem to be straightforward! Any help would be hugely appreciated. My aim is to merge all of these into one and then sync this across two Macs, an iPhone and an iPad.
The only way I have found so far involves exporting each calendar one by one and this is just taking far too long to do.
    Please help!!
    Many Thanks,
    Edmond

I want to get rid of the two arrays.
I simply joined these two arrays into one array and I select an array subset for the xy graph but that does not work.
Now the two data arrays get mixed again in the chart.
I can't see what is wrong. I have tried many things like indexing the array before the xy graph, directly wiring the array to the graph etc. nothing worked.
    Please help.

  • I just wiped out my ENTIRE Entourage calendar syncing it with iCal.  Help!

Hey there. I'm using Entourage 2004 and I foolishly decided to try syncing it with iCal using the Syncing pane in the Preferences Menu pictured below.
When I opened iCal to have it sync there was a dialogue with three choices and I chose the one that would have seemed to do the least damage. I can't remember now. The problem is, it wiped out my ENTIRE Entourage calendar. I didn't find this out until now when I brought the computer out of sleep. The last 4.5 years are gone. Absolutely nothing is there and the Office Notifications doesn't even start up.
Is there anyway to retrieve this at all? Can I rebuild the database or something? Anything? The kicker is iCal isn't even showing my dates from Entourage even though it started a new colour/calendar for it.
    Please help!

if your phone is still turned on. for example......they overcharge you by $300 one month and just reduce the credit you will have with them. now 2 months before your contract is up, your credit is gone (because they overcharged). you still think you have $300 credit with them.....until they shut your phone off for not paying the bill. probably won't happen, but i just thought i'd throw a scenario out there, as it is very common to have disputes on cell phone bills.

  • My LCD Screen is Broken - HELP!

    Right.
Bought my blackberry a month ago now, within ten days the screen had broken.
Of course, it's accidental damage and isn't covered by the warranty - my own stupid fault.
So, I asked around and sent it off somewhere locally.
They couldn't replace the screen, said the motherboard wasn't working, although since I can recieve calls, texts, emails, the lot, I highly doubt it. The only problem is, of course, that I could only see 3/4 of the screen.
So, I'm looking around the blackberry website and nothing, anywhere, is of any use to me whatsoever.
I found some page that said they charge $190 for any repair or something
    a) I live in England
    b) I can get a new one for that!
Will someone please help and either recommend a place where I can get it fixed
    OR
Give me some clue as to how I can get it done officially via the website, because it all seems to be a load of jargon to me.
    Thank you

There is no "official" repair other than through the carrier.  If you are any good at taking small electronic things apart, it's not that hard to replace the screen.  You can get one here:

  • "No Virtual Host Found for iCal Service" help?

    I have Leopard Server installed.
When I try to "Start iCal" in Server Admin, "No Virtual Host Found for iCal Service" pops up.
Also, I can't configure the server in the Directory Utility. Utility claims the ip address is incorrect, even though I know it is.
    HELP!!!

I just solved this problem by creating a Kerberos record for the iCal server in my Open Directory server's Kerberos realm. The iCal server can join your Open Directory's Kerberos realm through its Open Directory pane's 'Join Kerberos' button. (I think this could be presented better.)
If you're not using Kerberos, then you'd probably solve the problem by selecting 'Digest' as the 'Authentication' method.

  • ICAL Sharing help

How do you publish a calendar so that someone else can make changes to it. They have a .mac account.

The iPhone will only be able to access the iCal server from within your internal network since you do not have outside access setup. The way I setup outside access is to port forward from the router. This will direct external requests to the correct machine on your network. If you have more than one router, I'm afraid I can be of no help in setting up port forwarding. However, if you want external access and use only one router I can try to help.
For internal use the server name that you find is sufficient (xx.local). The example shown is for external access.

    Hi Reffscuba,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I don't know if I would say it is "typical" as I haven't seen this problem at all. Remember, folks come here with problems (or to help solve problems). Think about how many folks aren't here. Unfortunately no one seems to be able to provide an answer to this one (Hard to help sometimes if you can't replicate). Perhaps there is occasional server maintenance?
That said, try again. I just manually checked and had no problem. Send a note to .Mac support if the problem is still there :http://www.apple.com/support/dotmac/applications/

  • ICal number HELP

I had a little number 1 come up on my iCal in the dock.
It is a little red dot with a white 1.
I have one through the help and can't figure what this means.
    thanks

    Christopher:
Create an event a few days ahead, invite someone to the event and when they accept the invitation (via email) the number will become "2" instead of one.
The number in the red ball is the number of confirmed appointments from others.

  • ICAL 101 HELP NEEDED ASAP.

    Hello everyone--
What a great topic. I have been trying to use Ical for me and my girlfriend so we can share one calendar between us.
    My questions are the following:
I know how to create a calendar on my G4 using Tiger and I have all the information in it.
How do I make it accessible to her so she can add information from her computer?
How do I store it on my .mac shared folder?
If I store it on my .mac shared folder, can she edit it?
When it is published to the web, is it read only?
Anyone help will be greatly appreciated. I have edited my last two documentaries on Final Cut and consider myself a Mac proficient but Ical is killing all illusions of that!
    Angelo

The short answer is yes if you both have Macs. See this recent topic: John Jeka, "sharing calendars", 08:29am Aug 28, 2005 CDT
There are many other recent posts that address this issue.
Published is read only; If you want to edit, you have to sync the two Mac computers. If she has a PC all she can do is see your events.
