ICal bug: cannot copy/paste into location field of exchange 2007 calendar

when you copy text from any application (cmd C) and then try to paste it into de location field of a new or existing appointment of a calendar synchronizing with an exchange 2007 account in iCal 4.0, then .... well nothing happens. You can paste it in a subject or a notes field but not in de location field.

My experience as well (hooked into google calendar), and a frustrating one. I assume this is related in some way to the "yellow exclamation point in edit mode - can only select entire block"? I see that normal "on my mac" calendar locations don't have the yellow exclamation point, and I can select any portion of the text. What's up with this? Is iCal suggesting that google's "Where" field is incompatible somehow? Yet there seems to be no trouble exchanging data between the two...

Problem with copy/paste into WYSIWYG field?

In using Robo HTML X5 my helpfile design is a simple one, but
one issue is stumping me.
-From the TOC tab I will create a new topic, and then edit
the WYSIWYG field on the right, insert graphics, etc. But if I cut
and paste from Word 2003 into the WYSIWYG topic field, all
formatting like bold letting is stripped out, along with graphics.
The graphics have to be cut and pasted individually and I manually
have to reformat the text.
Does anyone know why a copy/paste into the WYSIWYG field is
being stripped of formatting somehow? Is there simple project
setting somewhere?

Hi reiver12367 and welcome to our community
Trust me on this. Mixing Word and RoboHelp HTML are like
mixing oil and water. You really don't want to go down any road
where formatting is maintained during a copy/paste operation.
You might see better results by right clicking the folder
(inside RoboHelp HTML) where you want the topic to be, then
selecting Import. From there, choose the Word document file type
from the drop-down on the bottom of the dialog, navigate to and
choose your Word document. You will have a couple of dialogs to
deal with and the stuff should import in.
Personally, I even avoid going that route if I can. I instead
opt for saving the Word document as pure ASCII text. Then creating
a new topic and copy/pasting the text into the topic. From there I
format as needed.

Cannot Copy/Paste into Find and Replace

Help! I used to be able to do this, but now I cannot seem to
copy/paste source code into the Find and Replace dialog box. I am
stumped as to why this is a problem. I am running Dreamweaver MX
2004 (educational version). I would appreciate any help!!!

Error "you cannot copy an enterprise vault shortcut" in outlook 2007 calendar

I am trying to copy a meeting from a calendar in outlook 2007 that my co-worker has shared with me over to my calendar. I used to be able to just drag and drop it on my calendar and it would make a copy. Now every time I try to copy anything I get this
error "you cannot copy an enterprise vault shortcut" you can restore the item and then copy the restored item. Why am I getting this and how can I stop it or even how can I "restore" the item and get around it.

If your organisation uses the Symantec Enterprise Vault product, this seems to be a known issue:

Unable to copy-paste into a few fields in Safari

Hello, can anybody tell me why you cannot paste text copied from programs, such as Excel into some of the fields in Safari? Take this website as an example: http://www.banamex.com/estudiosfinanzas/finanzas/divisasmetales.htm
it is a currency converter. at the bottom right there is a field "Cantidad". You cannot paste anything in there, you have to type. If you open that same link in another browser, you will be able to paste into that field. Can anybody help? Thanks very much!

your example is the same for me in Safari & Firefox, neither allow pasting, but Camino does.
It's due to a javascript function deliberately set on that field to allow (validate) only certain numbers (no letters etc, only 2 decimal places) - disable javascript & it works more normally.
Presumably, Firefox & Safari present pasted data in a way that triggers the website javascript function to reject it, regardless of the correct content.

Copy & Paste into Dialer - Cannot Edit Number!

I am curious as to why the supposed enhancement to enabling you to paste a number into the Dialer app does not allow you to edit the number once pasted. I do a lot of international calls and people send out email invites (especially US based people) and they send the number as 1 xxx xxx xxxx, omitting the + from the start, which international caller require.
In previous versions of the OS you could select the number as a link and it would ask you if you wanted to call the number. I had hoped that the cut & paste ability would allow you to paste the number and then edit it to insert the + sign.
As this is not available I do not see what the excitement is with cut & paste in the Dialer app.
These little things make all the difference in usability!

Clearly Apple's developer beta testers did not do enough research on copy past into the dialer pad for INT'L capabilities
Since they're in so many countries...I'm sure this will be an update soon to follow...
Apple is "rumored" to read the forums for high level observation ONLY...meaning they may check to see that they have 250 posts on bad battery life after an update...but NEVER reply to the poster...
In a few articles I've read on Appleinsider.com it is said that some posters actually got emailed at the email they listed in their user profile to answer a follow up question Apple had...this I'm sure is very RARE though and probably would only happen if a specific step or user action needed to be understood to duplicate an error or issue...

Copy / Paste into Skype

In windows 7 you can copy/paste into skype no problem.
In windows 8 you can no longer copy/paste into skype.
This seems like moving backwards so I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

Since Skype is an international service, setting a default domestic area/city code is not possible. If you are regularly calling the same group of people, you could define them in the contacts list of your Skype program or phone app. When you do that, you could put in the international country code and area/city code before each number. If you are using a Skype app on a mobile phone (i.e., iPhones), you can also make use of the phone's contacts list - if they are set up with the international country code and area/city code for each number.

Cannot copy paste from Outlook 2011 to anything

I'm on 10.9.5 and cannot copy/paste text from emails in Outlook:Mac 2011 to other apps like textedit or textwrangler or MS Word. I've tried killing pboard in the Activity Monitor and from command line, and tried stopping and starting com.apple.pboard with launchctl. Restart has fixed this in the past, but that is not a good solution.
Looking at other threads here and other places, it seems like a pervasive issue that goes beyond Outlook. Any other known fixes? Thanks-

Finished sequences is wrong timebase, cant copy paste into new sequence

I am coming onto a project finishing it for a first time editor and he cut 23.97 footage in a 29.99 seq, there are many time effects etc. I tried copy/pasting into a new seq but everything ends up in different places. I cant change my seq settings as it is grayed out, this is outside the realm of my experience any advice would be much appreciated! Cheers.

Different timebase...OOOCHIE! This is what people get for not paying attention, and what happens with the OPEN TIMELINE being able to edit almost any format. People don't see the RENDER BAR and just carry on...ugh.
Nothing to do but to copy and paste into a correct timebase, and manually close all the gaps. *****, but what you need to do. Been there....cleaning up after an editor.

Now I can copy from one web browser to another, and from one Word document to another, but I cannot copy/paste from the web to Word or vice versa.

If someone could please help Firstly im a complete novice I have had my mac for just over a year and great with no problems until now when i copy text from a webpage and drop it onto the safari icon in the dock it no longer works very frustrated and i have also a issue regarding my email which when i try to get mail nothing happens is it possible to remove my email account and then reinstate it back to its original condition as i have a feeling i have altered settings Iwould be very gratefull any help.

You can make the image a link. You can also select the image
and draw
areas on it to make an image map so that different parts of

I've seen that in the prefs js the proper lines are inserted.

I cannot copy/paste info contained in email. Elsewhere my browser works fine

It's not related to a specific site. The issue is general.
I've not used Firefox in safe mode, and unfortunately, don't know what it is.
What's puzzling is that this only started recently, never was an issue before, and is not fixed with the update. Perhaps it's related to the webmail programme I used that's provided by my website host. The programme is Horde.
(BTW, the copy, paste problem does not seem to occur in Chrome.)

Have uninstalled then re-installed iTunes and it sees my iPhone but doesn't show the battery state.
I have rebooted my laptop and, guess what, iPhone is now NOTseen! Who designed this software, an idiot? Oh, I forgot Apple programmers don't know anything about Windows especially Windows 7. I still think this has to do with the differing formats as if there are pictures on the iPhone, Windows sees it as a camera and it is possible to see the pictures in Explorer, so these must be stored in FAT format. Maybe someone needs to design the phone to tell Windows that it's a phone and tells Windows to load the correct drivers. Maybe that's too difficult!
