ICal corrupt after script from Omni

I ran an export to iCal script from Omnioutliner 3.03 and this created an extra calender (named after the omni file it came from). During the export the system crashed and since then iCal has become unstable.
The new calender cannot be deleted and after I start up iCal it freezes after a few minutes.
Going to /Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources/ shows me a folder for each calender and if I delete the one that is causing the problemens it dissapears in iCal..... for a while and then it mysteriously comes back.
iCal behaves nicely until it comes back and then it's all wanky again.
How do i restore iCal to its usual stable self again?

Are you syncing the calendars? Run Script alarms only work on local calendars, those under "On My Mac" in iCal.

OS X partition becomes corrupt after switching from Bootcamp

So I've had to reinstall os x 10.9.1 no less than three times this week and multiple times before in the past after switching between os x and windows 8.1. This usually happens after I've been using windows for a prolonged period then switch back to os x but it happened today after reinstalling os x from a time machine backup just yesterday. I'll switch between the two and os x becomes corrupt and begins the loading bar sequence after selecting the os x partition via the refit boot manager. I tried repairing the partition using disk utility from the repair partition and an external installation of os x 10.9.1 but every time the disk becomes corrupt and needs to be wiped and reinstalled or install a time machine backup. I've lost count of how many times I've had to do this and to make things even worse both of my external disks have become corrupt after being disconnected for two days while I sort this mess out. Does anyone else have similar issues or can locate an issue somewhere?

Yeah I reinstalled osx 10.9.1 and installed all my apps, put everything back then used bootcamp to create a partition for windows then used wineclone to install my windows 8.1 backup. I jumped from windows > osx > windows > osx inside an hour to move around a few things and I forgot verify bootcamp after I installed the backup and that last time I booted to osx it was corrupted. I used disk utility from my external installation and the recovery partition and both times they need repaired which only came up with the backup and wipe notification window. There have been two occasions where I was able to fix the osx partition from my external osx installation and continue using osx quite perfectly but usually the partition becomes un-mountable after it fails to repair. Usually when this has happened the twenty something times before it's after a prolonged period of a few weeks using windows.
I'm using refit boot manager and paragon NTFS 11 which may be the only software I've installed that could be corrupting the boot.

ICal crashes after migration from G3

Hi - I just took over my boyfriend's G4 laptop after having a G3 "snow book" for years. We erased the G4 HD, reinstalled the software that came with it, used the migraiton routine to move stuff from the old G3 and then upgraded to 10.4.11. Everything is working except iCal.
iCal crashes immediately. The icon will bounce in the Dock, the calendar will appear and then disappear. I've been prompted to "Report to Apple" and I've done so at least 3 times.
How can I overcome this? How can I get iCal to work?

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Tiger Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If that doesn't help, quit all Applications, try moving these 3 files to the desktop and reboot...

Display corruption after resume from suspend-to-disk

Garbage is also visible on the display immediately before entering suspend-to-RAM, but it resumes successfully, so that's not a priority.
The resume process (using uswsusp) appears to complete (reaches 100%) but then the display is replaced by garbage (including ttys). If on an X display, the mouse is visible as a roughly 128x128 square of garbage pixels that I can move around the screen. If I switch to a tty, login and reboot (blindly, as the screen is garbage) then it successfully reboots and runs without issue.
My laptop is a Dell Studio 1555 (with Mobility Radeon 4570).
Using vbetool to save and restore VBIOS state before and after hibernating (via hibernate-script) makes no difference that I can see.
How would I go about figuring out what's going wrong here?

I did try reinstalling, actually. But I did not think to remove the battery and the ram... I'm very curious now: what is the rationale / intuition for that? Or is it just that empirical evidence suggests this may be a good idea?
Anyhow, the reinstall by itself did not help. I tried it out with a pretty bare-bones setup and had the same results. Here are a few other things I noticed:
- After the suspend, one of the cores is always running at the maximum clock frequency, according to powertop (although, according to ps aux, no one is doing any work).
- Even if I ssh to a nearby machine, I get the same experience when running `ls`. The screen fills very slowly. That narrows things down a little bit, but I was already guessing it would be graphics-related.
I have also tried a few random kernel boot parameters after reading things online, but none of those worked, and several stopped the machine from booting at all.

BW FICA extract structures corrupted after upgrade from 4.6C to ECC6

Hi All. After the upgrade an include (FKKBWP) in the extract structure FKKOPBW_BASIC contained a field belonging to the APPEND structure ZAFKKOPBW_BASIC (originating from enhancing the configured structure). Also ZAFKKOPBW_BASIC is not visible in FKKOPBW_BASIC anymore, although when checking/activating the structure it complains about duplicate fields, which can only happen if ZAFKKOPBW_BASIC is still referenced. Furthermore, some new includes have also appeared in the extract, amongst others FKKOPBW_EVOLVED.
I have not been able to find any documentation regarding this. Two different systems were upgraded and the structures were corrupted in both systems in the same way, so this is not a fluke.
The application dumps when one tries to access it via SBIW->Settings for Application-Specific DataSources->Contract accounts receivable->Define Fields for the Extraction of Open Items, because the config and structures do not match.
All of this also applies to the Cleared Items as well.
Has anybody encountered this or can somebody point me to some documentation referering to this problem?

Images Corrupted after Moving from Phone Memory to SD Card

Hi, I have a Sony Xperia Z3 16GB version and Recently I had been to a hiking trip and had used my Xperia Z3 on the trip extensively for photos and vidoes. I have taken as much as 600 photos and few videos of size 2.9 GB. Since the phone memory was getting full, i moved the images,videos using the "Move Files to SD Card" option found under "Settings --> Storage". The Transfer finished successfully and the phone memory was relieved. Now after this transfer, i can't open any images moved to SD card. They all were moved to "DCIM --> 100ANDRO" folder. The photos seem to be corrupted. ALL OF THEM This is such a mess and I tried a few tools for recovering the images. They didn't help me any. Can anyone of you have any suggestions on how to recover these photos? These are memories from a Trip which I can do only once in life time Please help. Note: The jpeg image properties show up the File Size clearly which means that the content is still there but somehow corrupted

You could try a check disk - So with the card connected open a command prompt then type the drive letter of the card then : so for example K: then hit enter - Then type chkdsk /f then hit enter - When finished check your cards files

FireFox content corruption after wakeup from standby

Hi,
since I upgraded to 10.8 I have a very ennoying problem. The content of the FireFox Windows is totally corrupted. I have the same problem with CoRD and Safari.
Other programs are OK (Chrome is OK, Office OK).
Screenshot is attached.
Problem is 'Solved' after a restart until the next wake up.
Any idea of a solution?

Startup your Mac in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes much longer than a normal boot so be patient.

Hi,
Can someone help!!
I signed up to iCloud early on and thought everything would be fine after 1st of July when iCloud came into effect.
All my contacts, photo's movies and everything else are all still on my computer and phone.....
BUT all my ical entries have been wiped. And I have only realised now that mobileMe is no longer working.
What do I do. I spoke with Apple and they have said there is nothing that can me done.
Does anyone know any tricks. You will need to be specific as I am not a computer nut too by the way!!

I don't think there are any 'tricks', sorry; there are only things that you can do if you'd had any sort of a backup strategy and have some resources already in place.
If you have a full backup of your hard drive, then you also have all of your old iCal data which can be pulled out and repopulated as of the day that the backup was made.
If you'd ever taken a snapshot of your current iCal status via the iCal > File > Export route, then you could rebuild from there.
Beyond those, not too much to try.

VOs are corrupted after copying from one machine to another

A team of developers are creating custom pages on different PCs for the same project.
In order to have the latest BC4J objects for everyone, VOs (XML file and Impl.java and RowImpl.java) are copied from one machine to another and added to the project.
But when doing this and trying to view the attributes of the new VO on the machine where the new VO si copied over will result in an error:

Please notice that source JDeveloper version and target JDeveloper version are the same and are coming from the same JDev OA patch.
The only workaround i could find is creating the VO from scratch on the 2nd installation, but this reduces very much the development time, because developers are doing the same work other developer had undertaken before, so there is no benefit from this.
I got exactely the same result when copying the VO on the same machine in 2 different JDev installations (with the same version of course).
I have a very simple reproducible testcase with OA Toolbox tutorial:
Requirements:
- Two (2) workstations
- Each workstation must contain same copy of JDeveloper project (JPR file)
- Toolbox Tutorial project
Steps:
Workstation 1
1. Go to Tutorial.jpr project -> Business Components -> oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.schema.server
2. Right click package then select New View Object.
3. Proceed with the creation of the View Object using wizard.
4. Name the View Object as CustomerSupportVO
5. Select EmployeeEO and AddressEO.
6. Select all possible attributes.
7. On Step 6 of wizard, check Generate Java File for View Row Implementation.
8. Click Finish.
9. Save Project.
10. Copy CustomerSupportVO.xml, CustomerSupportVOImpl.java, CustomerSupportVORowImpl.java to shared folder.
Workstation 2
1. Copy CustomerSupportVO.xml, CustomerSupportVOImpl.java, CustomerSupportVORowImpl.java from shared folder to Workstation2/JDEV_HOME/myprojects/oracle\apps\fnd\framework\toolbox\schema\server.
2. Go to Tutorial.jpr project -> Business Components -> oracle.apps.fnd.framework.toolbox.schema.server
3. In the System Navigator, click on Add to Tutorial.jpr icon.
4. Select CustomerSupportVO.xml then click Open.
5. Click ok when prompt to add View Object’s components.
6. Right Click on CustomerSupportVO from Business Components.
7. Select Edit CustomerSupportVO.
Can you let me know if there is a more simple workaround?

I had faced similar issue earlier. I just copied the VO query(and all necessary information) and removed it (deleted) from the project. Upon recreation of the new VO (same name) the issue was resolved.
Not very sure as to why the VO.xml got corrupted in your case, but this solution works.

Workflow corrupted after save from Builder

We loaded a WFT file into the Workflow Builder, and saved it to a database. There was no indication of any error, and the icon in the builder switched to the database schema as expected. When we subsequently attempted to load this workflow from the database into the Workflow Builder we got several errors displayed, and it was clear that much was missing (e.g. no processes were displayed). On examination of the workflow tables, it seemed that some tables had been updated with the new version, others had not. This was the 5th or 6th version of this workflow, and it has always been saved in the same way. It has been saved successfully on a different server. We could do nothing with the corrupted version, we could not delete it or save it again. We had to restore the database. Any ideas what may have gone wrong here?

Problem solved - on the failing servers the WF_LOCAL_LANGUAGES table had only GB flagged as an installed language - the servers which worked had only US flagged as an installed language. Correcting this and the workflow saves correctly.

IPhone 6 iOS 8.1 - Photos blank / preview corrupt after restore from backup

Hello,
I just restored from a recent backup of an iPhone 5s @iOS 8.1 (from today) to a new iPhone 6, also on iOS 8.1.
Everything else is ok, except the photo library. Only those images that have been edited within in iPhone 5s stock photos app over the last few months do not show up in the iPhone 6 library. The total number of images, videos etc shows up as exactly the same on both devices.
In thumbnail view, they're just white boxes. When I click on the white thumbnail, I can see the intended image for less than a second before it turns into a blank white image again. Interestingly, if I try and revert the image to its original version (as clicked by the iPhone 5s, before it was edited in-app), the image becomes viewable again.
I could do this if it were just a few images, but there are far too many of these scattered around in my photo library for this approach to be convenient.
I have tried restoring from the same back up again, no luck. I even deleted the backup from iTunes, made a fresh back up of the iPhone 5s and tried restoring to the iPhone 6 - no luck.
Is there anyway to force rebuild the photo library? Will that help?
Or should I delete all data and settings from the iPhone 6 and start over again ?
Any clues?

OK I was able to fix the issue.
Just in case this helps anyone:
I used iExplorer and navigated to the "PhotoData" folder. I backed up and then deleted the following data files form this folder:
1) com.apple.photos.caches_metadata.plist
2) PhotosAux.sqlite
3) Photos.sqlite
Then I quit the Photos App, hard reset the iPhone and reopened the Photos App. It took a while to rebuild the photo library, but everything seems to be back to normal now.

Problem with iCal events after waking from sleep mode

I have a daily iCal reminder that starts playing a playlist in iTunes at 6:00 am. However, if I leave the computer in sleep mode at night, and then manually wake the computer (BEFORE 6:00 am), the iCal event won't play on time...it's delayed 20-30 minutes. Any ideas why?

Have you tried it with a different mouse? I'm no expert, but you might want to find out, if the problem is mouse-specific.

Graphics corruption after waking from suspend

The image above shows what it looks like. The good news is that there's a process that restores it back to normal: I go to display settings and rotate the view then choose to restore previous setting when asked. Then i restart gnome-shell and everything is clean again.
The problem shows up consistently after suspend and sometimes when booting.
Any advice here is appreciated.

That thread seems limited to nvidia cards and mine is ati. The downgrade of gnome-power-management suggested there did not work for me and I could not find the org.gnome.power-manager.lock-suspend option in gconf-editor.
Please note that I had posted a similar problem last year which I solved by downgrading to older drivers but gnome3 does not work with these.

Screen corrupted after wake from sleep

My screen on my 2 week old iMac comes up pixelated leaving square trails mimicking the movement of the mouse. I have had consultations twice with Apple support junior team members, looking forward to a senior team member reviewing my case. It looks like some sort of eraser wiping the blank dark screen revealing the login screen underneath. Any ideas?
Oh by the way my first iMac was sent back due to dead pixels, how unusual is that?

I have an answer for my problem: for solving a problem I've made several steps:
1. Run farm installation under AD admin credentials - runas /user:Domain1\DomainAdmin1 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN\psconfigui.exe".
This user has been added as farm administrator in the wizard.
This user has been added as DBO in the SQL Server. (This is the main difference with my previous attempts)
2. Execute a command Add-SPShellAdmin Domain1\UserAccount1 in
the Management Shell of Sharepoint.
3. Run SQL server and add Sharepoint_Shell_Access to the Domain1\UserAccount1
(my main account) in the Config database
4. Run CMD file only from Start->Run menu.
runas /user:Domain1\UserAccount1 "C:\1.cmd".
Do not use Total Commander command prompt or file list for executing *.cmd of *.bat files without root administrator account.
