ICal dates completely wrong

I just noticed that iCal's dates on my MBP are completely wrong. For example, though it correctly states that today is December 30, it says that December 30 is a Friday instead of a Wednesday. It also says that January 2010 only has 28 days and that February 2010 has 31 days, also completely wrong. What can I do to fix this?

I have the exact same problem. If I use cmd+t to go to the current date (1/13/2010) it goes to the correct calendar but the mini calendar on the bottom left is titled "December 2009" instead of "January 2010".
I also have serious problems with recurring events. I set all my classes for the semester to end on the last day of school, but when I check the last day of school, it seems that they all end on different dates. Also, I cannot change them either. I try to reset the end dates, but even if I change them and hit done, they still revert back to their random dates. Help!

  • ICal synch completely wrong

I hope I am doing something wrong here but no matter what I do , when I synch between my desktop and iphone the ical entries on the iphone get all messed up. Times are off by random amounts of hours and sometimes days.

Thanks for your help. I changed the timezone support to off and everything is fine now.

  • IPhone5 on Sprint completely wrong date

I have the iPhone5 with Sprint, and every other day or so, when I open my calendar app, the date is completely wrong (often like 6 months off), even if I click on the "today" button.  The time seems to be correct.  Unfortunately, when the date is off, several of my other apps interact with it and it changes the date in the apps as well.  For example, I have a pregnancy app, and when the calendar sets itself to today as being in Sept of 2013, it says I am way overdue on the baby.  If I change the settings to manual date and time, it fixes it for awhile, even if I switch back to automatic, but it only helps for a day or so.  I have also tried the airplane mode and restarting my phone.  I have not reset it at this point because I haven't had a chance to completely re-setup my phone.  Suggestions?  Does anyone else know if Apple knows about this issue?  I have seen a lot of stuff regarding Verizon and the iPhones, but not as much with Sprint.

I have this same exact problem too. I have consulted the xda developers here:
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=610026
so far i have recived no input yet. i really dont want to do a hard reset either.
    EDIT:
Here is another website i found addressing this issue:
    http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1455811
there is a temporary fix on that site!  its called "Ziggy 2016 Fix.cab"
    EDIT:
I called and talked to palm, they say that the problem has been identified, and its a issue with the windows mobile operating system so, we just have to wait for a update from either palm or microsoft. until then, we can try to use the temporary fix above.

  • Can I restore a single calendar archive to iCal without replacing my current ical data in other calendars?

I archived an iCal calendar.  When I went to import it back into iCal, a message says "The iCal backup “abcd.icbu” will replace your current iCal data. You can’t undo this action."  Will it replace ALL my current iCal data, or just any data in a calendar labeled "abcd"?

    imci,
As the warning says: "...will replace your current iCal data." All of your current data will be overwritten with the .icbu file.
I presume that you do not want to do that.
One method of accomplishing the integration without losing current data, is to use iCal>File>Export>Export... for each one of your current calendars. That method will create .ics files for the individual calendars. After creating those .ics files and saving them to a suitable location, you can then use the .icbu file to restore from the archive.
After the archive restoration is complete, you can go to the saved location and double click on the .ics files. You will be offered a choice to create a new calendar, or integrate into an existing calendar. Use the choice appropriate for your situation.

  • Trying to copy Tiger's iCal data to a clean install of Leopard...

I have just clean-installed Leopard onto my MacBook, after having done a complete backup of my entire hard drive. I have not used Apple's own Backup software, but rather a 3rd-party backup application, which effectively has just cloned my Tiger drive onto an external hard-drive.
The problem I am having is that I am trying to migrate my Tiger calendars to Leopard's iCal, manually copying across all data, but I cannot figure out which data to copy across to make it work.
Leopard's iCal folders don't seem to match up with Tiger's iCal folders, so I can't just write over like-for-like.
I tried deleting the *User > Library > Calenders* folder from the MacBook, but there was no Calendars folder in the same location on the external drive's backup. All the iCal data seemed to be stored in a *User > Library > Application Support > iCal* folder.
I also copied this folder from the backup to my MacBook (even though there wasn't an iCal folder there on the MacBook) and when I re-launched iCal I got a message saying *"Upgrading iCal calendars"* and a progress bar, but then a second or so later, I get an error message saying *"Failed to migrate iCal calendars"*.
I guess there's more I need to be looking out for...
Does anyone know how to do this?

Did you read my post, and the article you pointed me to?
The solution in the article you pointed me to relies on having used Apple's own "Backup" software, and in my original post above, I clearly stated:
*I have not used Apple's own Backup software, but rather a 3rd-party backup application, which effectively has just cloned my Tiger drive onto an external hard-drive.*

  • ICal data backup

Is there any way to restore iCal data from iCloud if you haven't gone through the back up process? The last Calendar archive file on my desktop is from the day I started using iCloud in January.

Boot your old Mac in Firewire target disk mode.
To use FireWire target disk mode:
    1. Make sure that the target computer is turned off. If you are using a PowerBook or iBook as the target computer, you should also plug in its AC power adapter.
    2. Use a FireWire cable (6-pin to 6-pin) to connect the target computer to a host computer. The host computer does not need to be turned off.
    3. Start up the target computer and immediately press and hold down the T key until the FireWire icon appears. The hard disk of the target computer should become available to the host computer and will likely appear on desktop. (If the target computer is running Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you can also open System Preferences, choose Startup Disk, and click Target Disk Mode. Then restart the computer and it will start up in Target Disk Mode.)
    4. When you are finished copying files, drag the target computer's hard disk icon to the Trash or select Put Away from the File menu (Mac OS 9) or Eject from the File menu (Mac OS X).
    5. Press the target computer's power button to turn it off.
    6. Unplug the FireWire cable.
If the target computer's hard disk does not become available to the host computer, check the cable connections and restart the host computer.
This user tip may help you.
EDIT: I read that wrong. I thought you were moving to a new Mac. Too early, not enough coffee
The user tip may still help. You say you can't boot up from the external but can you read it?

  • Exporting sequence from Premiere CC to Audition CC opens completely wrong clips in multitrack

I export my sequence from PP and Audition opens 100% incorrect video and audio!  Nothing is the right clip, totally wrong files are being opened.  I have no clue at all what is going on.  Can anyone help?
Footage is DV PAL.  Audio is single stereo audio file (made in Audition CC) on dialogue track and single stereo music track, both 48KHz 16bit. All audio is going into Audition at 0db with no effects (ie untampered).
I've done plenty of other mixes with the same project in different sequences with no problem at all (starting in CS6 and now working in CC - it's a feature film project with many tracks and over an hour long).  The primary feature mixdown has been done and worked beautifully last week.  Now I'm working on a trailer which is only 3 minutes long, using the rendered movie as my primary source, so it should be quite simple.
I have had a look at the xml (of which I only have the most basic understanding) and the document clearly references completely wrong files, so I think you are right and it's a PP issue rather than Audition, which just seems to be fed crap to start with!
    My specs are:
    Mac Pro 5,1 - 6 Core 3.33GHz
    48GB RAM
    GTX 680 Mac
    OSX 10.8.5
    Adobe CC - up-to-date
playout via Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 (FW400)
    Thanks for any help!
    Dominic
    PS
This is a copy of a thread I started in the AUdition forum but was advised to ask here instead.

Not a direct reply to your question but...
I have only exported video to Audition as a reference track- preferring to use the PP timeline for the master export.  I somehow feel it's less prone to image quality loss (codec dependent!)
To that end, I add the imported Audition mix-down either as a single or multiple stems, depending upon the project requirements,  and place them in sync in the original timeline.

  • Ical  data missing after OS 10.5.8 update

all of my ical data is missing after OS 10.5.8 update. also must force quit. unfortunately i am not able to access my backup due to problems with disc not being recognized and timemachine.... aack ( this problem occurred prior to update)..... i have my data on my ipod so i'm not completely *... but is there some way to restore my calendar without using my backup?.... is my info still there somewhere in my HD?...
i am using a 24" imac intel core duo processor 2.4 ghz 4MG ram
thanks.... this happened to me before when i installed the 10.5.7 update.... but i luckily had my backup to go into at that time...
should have waited to install the update until i had my backup up and running again.... i guess... oh well....
any help will be more than appreciated.

I have also seen this problem.
My fix for it was to get the iCal package off the install CD.
To do this, download a program called Pacifist. What it does is it reads the install disc, and finds all the packages that the programs are in.
It is really handy for installing individual apps.
Once you have extracted the package, install it as usual. Then you should see all you data back in iCal, until it breaks again.
Note: This is not really a fix, rather a way to get iCal working again.
I have also seen this problem happen when there was no update done, or rather the update was done a month before the problem occurred. This was a real fail update by apple and i hope they make a fix for it in the next update, although now that Snow Leopard is out, your probably won't wee any more fixes, as they will be too busy patching up 10.6, already up to 10.6.2

  • How do I restore iCal data from a Time Machine back-up?

Recently, all my iCal data disappeared, possibly due my efforts to unlink iCal from Google calendars.
I have read posts here, and have tried restoring ~/Library/Calendars in its entirety from a Time Machine back-up from about a week ago, where data definitely existed .... however, iCal remains empty. What am I doing wrong?

Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Restore it from your backup.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Stopping iCloud service erased iCal data on my Mac

I was setting up iCal and decided to postpone the first sync to later. When I wanted to "Disconnect", I got the message that all data would be deleted from the Mac... of course the data would still be available for other iCloud connected devices.
Problem is that my Mac is the ONLY device sychronized to the cloud so far. It deleted my iCal files completely. I was lucky to uncheck the address book before iCloud could get to it. Thanks to Timemachine, I'm back to normal.
Is this normal that if I one day want to stop using the cloud service, it will delete everything from my Mac?
I can't believe this would be designed that way.

It's disappointing and selfish of Apple to force users into keeping iCloud by deleting all the saved data off the computer permanently, when signing out of iCloud. It's basically blackmail; keep iCloud or all your **** gets deleted. There isn't even an option to save it back onto the computer!!! Absolutely PATHETIC.
This is the kind of **** that used to set Apple apart from the others; things that made sense and a sense of care.
Well Apple you've blown it; thousands of people (perhaps even millions?) have lost their data because they have decided to stop using iCloud. I thought iCloud looked cool, but now I see that there is a VERY big catch.
Please, put an option there to copy data back to the computer; if you can copy all the data onto iCloud, then ethically you should have the ability to copy all the data back onto the computer. Please, have a sense of ethics and give users this option!!!
    This option was never removed.
Open Address book then File > Export.
    Turn off iCloud.
    File > Import.

  • View my iCal data from Outlook

I'm currently using iCal to manage my schedule. It syncs automatically to MobileMe, Google Apps, and Plaxo, and it all gets pushed to my iPhone via MobileMe. I also have a few ics subscriptions within iCal, but for the purposes of what I'm about to ask, I don't care about them. It's my OWN calendar data that I care about.
I need to access it from within Outlook 2007 on a government-issued computer. Because it's government-issued, it's a fixed image and no one can install software or plugins locally. So with what I have (Outlook only), I need to figure out how to be able to view my iCal data.
I know Outlook 2007 supports subscriptions, but for the life of me, I can't find anywhere within me.com, or iCal, any reference to what URL I would need to use to have Outlook access my calendar.
    Any guidance?

Is it possible to recover ical data lost in a sync?

Your only bet is to resotre from the Time Machine backup. However when you do this the sync process will promptly delete the calendars again, so you need to work through the slightly convoluted method detailed in this page:
