Ical error -14

I think this is a client side problem with iCal 4.0.1 in OS 10.6.2, because I'm able to use my exchange calendar via iCal on other machines. The broken machine is stuck in an error loop:
+The account "Exchange" currently can’t be modified. To discard your changes and continue using the version of your calendars that’s on the server, click Revert to Server. To save your changes on your computer until the problem is resolved, click Go Offline.+
Clicking Revert or Try Again just pops up the dialog again with a similar error about another event. The system log message is
iCal: error = Error Domain=CalExchangeErrorDomain Code=-14 ... iCal can’t delete an occurrence from the repeating the event... from the Exchange server.
Anyone know what the error code means, or what can be done to get out of this loop?

I ran into the same problem with iCal in Mac OS X 10.6.3. To fix it, I quit iCal, removed ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache, then restarted iCal.

Any ideas? Is it because i have around 8 calendars? Is that too many?
Could it be 'cos I sync with Missing Sync for my Palm TX?
    H E L P !!
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

When a user launches iCal, they may have one of the following symptoms:
    * When iCal is launched the calendar is blank -- no calendars are listed on the left and no events appear in the day/week/month views
    * Switching views allows all events to appear but the calendars on the left are still missing
    * User can create a new event and designate a calendar but when the event is saved it cannot be seen
    * Clicking in the blank space where the calendars are supposed to be has no effect.
This issue is a Sync Services issue and not directly related to The Missing Sync. Mark/Space has identified a couple of solutions to this problem that others have reported. For more information, see: http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20060207074628694
    1) Quit iCal
    2) Locate the folder, User/Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources/ and delete the contents
    3) After deleting the files from this folder, lock the "Sources" folder. Do this by navigating up one level and selecting the "Sources" folder. Perform a "Get Info" (either through the "File" menu or by pressing Command-I with the "Sources" folder selected) then click the lock icon.
    4) Launch iCal and your calendars should reappear. Note that the relaunch of iCal will create a default 'Home' and 'Work' calendar, so make sure none of your calendars have the same names as the default .
    Do some backups first
    Follow those simple steps
    5) Go to Address Book, click on 'File' menu and choose 'Back up Address Book'. Go to iCal, click on 'File' menu and choose 'Back up database'.
    6) Go to Missing Sync and double click on the Backup Conduit and set it to backup all databases. Then run the sync with just that Backup conduit selected, disable all other conduits.
    7) Go to: /Users/<user name>/Documents/Palm/Users/<hotsync name>/ now hold the 'ctrl' key and click on the /Backups/ folder. Choose the option to 'Create Archive of "Backups"'. This is to safeguard your backed up data in case anything goes wrong.
Now 'Reset Sync History' using the iSync preferences option. The first sync will likely be slower.
    8) Launch iSync
    9) Click on the iSync menu
    10) Choose Preferences (make sure the "Enable syncing on this computer" is checked)
    11) Click the 'Reset Sync History' button. Read and follow the onscreen directions.
    12) This may launch iCal. Also the status of the reset is showing in the iSync display. When the reset is complete quit both iSync and iCal.
Launch Missing Sync and enable the Mark/Space Events and Tasks conduits and set them to Desktop overwrite Handheld. Disable all other conduits.
Then sync, when you do, you will get a dialog box with an orange iSync icon on it. Check the box to erase the device, then click the 'Allow' button. It will overwrite your device. You will get one for events, one for tasks, and one for contacts. The next time you sync .mac or other devices that sync with iSync like an iPod, you will get these same dialog boxes for their databases and you should check the box and click 'Allow' in those cases as well.
If you press the don't allow button you will need to reboot your computer.

  • Just started MobileMe.  Struggled with the setup of iCal but eventually got everything working fine for about a day.  Then I started receiving an iCal error message stating that the URL was wrong.  Of course, sync no longer works.  What is correct URL?

Just signed up for MobileMe.  Had a little difficulty setting up iCal but eventually got everything working.  Whether posting to iCal on my Mac Book or iPhone, sync seemed to be working fine for about a day.  Then suddenly when I opened iCal on my Mac Book, I would receive the following iCal error message:
"The calendar https://cal.me.com/calendar/calendar/principals/users/1.1117025442/ was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct."  I know where it is located but because I did not enter the URL when I set up MobileMe/iCal, I don't know what the correct URL should be.

    Replying to myself:
There was probably some mismatch between old and new stuff. Actually ical appeared in servives list but it does not exists anymore and is called calendar.
So "CANNOT_LOAD_BUNDLE_ERR" makes sense as it just does not exists.
    Now settings:calendar  -> empty
Attempts to fix that have failed for now.
    Any comments ?

  • ICal errors constantly pop up

Help, I use iCal on my MacBook Pro, but my calendar is really full. And therefore messages are constantly poping up, invitee error, cannot connect, etc. Is there anything I can do, as I have a ton of reminders and a ton of meetings. Since iCal errors out so much, I had my IT deptartment install parallels and then Microsoft Outlook and this works wonderfully.
    Error messages:
Calendar can’t save the event “specific meeting name” to the Exchange server.
“specific reminder” had invitees not recognized by the server.     There were no invitees?
Calendar can’t save the event “reminder name.” to the Exchange server.
    I am on OS X
    2.5 GHz Intel Core i7
    8 GB ram
Any ideas as I have had my IT department looking for a solution?
    Holly

That did it, actually. I had tried resizing it to make it smaller, but I guess I didn't go to enough extreme. I dragged the corner and made it just about as small as it would go, and the window popped up right where it should. I brought iCal back up to normal size, and there the edit window is.
An odd fix, but a fix indeed. Thanks!

  • Weird message in iCal "Error Locating Account Information"

    Hi,
I've a problem syncing iCal with Google calendar.
It works in the beginning very well, but sometimes I receive the message:
    Error Locating Account Information
Request encountered an unexpected error (domain CalDAV No Calendar Home Error / code 1).
    And the calendar stops syncing.
What is this message ? Why works well and then, suddenly, stops ?(without change any setting)
    Mac OS X - 10.6.7
    iCal 4.0.4
    Thanks

    Greetings,
That is an error message coming back from the Google CalDAV server when iCal requests an update of your calendars.
1.) First make a backup of your calendars by clicking on each one, one at a time and going to File > Export > Export and then saving the files somewhere for safekeeping.
2.) Delete the Google account from iCal > Preferences > Accounts
3.) Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical and / or "ical"
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
4.) Launch iCal and then go to iCal > Preferences > Accounts and re-add your Google account being very careful to type in the user name and password correctly.
    See if that helps.

  • ICal Error: "No virtual host found for iCal Service" - Help!

Trying to set up iCal on OS X Server 10.5.6
Server is up and running and successfully providing web services on its FQDN. Server is not currently used to support network users / services, but as and when it does it will be the Master Opendirectory server.
I have created a couple of test accounts on the server (simply in the Users group) and enabled both for Calendar Access.
I have provided the details of the FQDN on the iCal page, and checked that the default port (8008) has been opened in the firewall.
In web services there is one virtual domain (using name based virtual server) and the default domain in operation. Both appear to be functioning as would be expected.
When I click on 'start service' for iCal, I get this error.
"No virtual host found for iCal service"
I cannot find any information about this in iCal manual, or online documentation. Can anyone here provide pointer to where this information is, or what it means?
    Would be most grateful.

  • ICal error 403 about access to event in calendar in iCloud not permitted

When I downloaded our school calendar to ical I now receive error messages.. Go offline or revert to server. I choose go offline it does but when I open iCal the same messages appear.  If I choose revert to server I get the error again with another event.
The server responded:"403" to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation

Did you get an answer? This has been happening to me lately and it is impossibly annoying. My calendar is not saving changes and syncing to my iPhone anymore. Help!

  • ICal error message, Server.

Every time I open iCal (version 4,0,4) I get this error message:
“The server responded with an error.  The server did not recognise your user name or password for account “[email protected]”  Make sure you enter them correctly.”
Where do I enter that information?  Does anyone know?  Thank you.

I think I fixed my problem.  In iCal, click iCal, Preferences, Accounts and retype your password.  That seems to have done the trick for me as far as I can tell.

  • ICal Error Message 403 (iCloud)

    Hi Apple Users!
After giving my girlfriend access to my calenders via iCloud I get the Error Message 403. (I also got now acces to her calender.)
"The Access to the account "iCloud" is not allowed
    Answer of the servers:

(I translated it into english, the original message is shown in german)
"Der Zugriff auf Account „iCloud“ ist nicht gestattet.
    Antwort des Servers:

On both iPhones 4S (iOS 5.0) the calender are shown and updated correclty. Only in iCal I get the error message.
    Can someone help me please?
    In advance I thank you.
    Yours sincerely,
    Marc

Sorry reading your error in more detail I get the feeling our errors are not exactly the same.
I do not have access to my colleagues iCloud account.
This started when I tried to import two recent meeting invitations I recieved by e-mail to my iCal.
The error message was identical to yours:
    The server responded:
    “403”
    to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation.
The result being I was unable to import the meeting.
If I create a new invitation in iCal directly I have no problem.  And up until today I have not had any problems importing invitations from this person or anyone else using Microsoft Outlook.

  • Ical error 403

Hello all.  I am running an imac with 10.9.1.  I started having problems with my email account not sending--just lagging in the drafts pile.  I did some things, like resetting the pram and finally got it to work.  A little later I noticed that ical was also having problems...an error message 403.  I checked the community pages and folks suggested turning ical off and then on in preferences....restarting, etc.  ical crashed a few times.  The error message is gone but it is "moving calendars to server account"  endlessly and we are back to--you can't lick ok and trying again gives you the same thing over again.  So what's going on?
    Thanks for your help!

Ok, I think I solved my own problem.  I deleted ical from icloud.  I suspected this was one of those library cache problems....did a little research...did this:  Then did a restart and all was good again.
    ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCal (if these files exist)
    Quit iCal/Calendar.
Make backup copies of these files before deleting them.
Delete the Events directory found here:
    ~/Library/Calendars/*.calendar/Events
Delete the application's preference files here:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.helper.plist

  • ICal error "400" the request for account fail!!

iCal on my Macbook keeps on popping up with the following:
The server responded with an error.
The request for account “myemail (at) yahoo.com” failed.
    The server responded with
    “400”
    to operation CalDAVCalendarSplitDualTypeCalendarQueueableOperation.
I don't even have a calendar account with my yahoo account, since I use my gmail and iCloud calendar. I went into system preferences and made certain the "calendars" option was unchecked for my yahoo account in the Internet Accounts page. Nonetheless, iCal pops up with the same error message multiple times within the hour. I'm not sure why iCal is even requesting for my yahoo calendar, since I have never used it in iCal since day one. Any ideas?

Just out of curiosity, did you install FileZilla recently? The install comes with malware called Speedial. You may have noticed that your default search engine in all browsers is set to Yahoo, and furthermore impossible to override via the normal course of action.
Removing Yahoo from local apps is easier than resetting them. All I had to do was delete the (added without my consent) Yahoo account from System Preferences, and the iCal Yahoo calendar disappeared momentarily.
For resetting Safari, look here: Reset Safari Settings/Preferences
