ICal Fails to Open in Current Month

Since April, my iCal opens in April instead of the current month. How do I get it to open in the current month?

One of the first things to try is "refresh" the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCAl, drag the .plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior.

Published Calendar Doesn't Open to Current Month

I published an iCal Calendar in 9/08 and it works fine but the icon I have on my desktop opens to the monthly view for 9/08 rather than the current month. I can scroll it forward but would rather it opened to the current month. Is there a way to do that?

I am also having this issue but i am guessing that it is a known bug and if you are very very lucky it might be fixed someday....;=)
anyway, i recommend that you go to the apple feedback page and let them know that you would like this bug fixed. Or even better call apple support phone line, when it starts to cost them money they will fix it..maybe

ICal day view not in current month

Looking at my calendar in day view right now, the right hand column is clearly headed Thursday, 7 November, 2013, the left hand column is headed Thursday 7 January, 2013. Have checked all of the obvious settings and they seem fine.
Any ideas?

How to lock historical periods and want to open current month to write

we are having Aso cube, and we need to lock historical periods and need to open the current month for the users for write. and also need to lock scenario. can any one suggest me how to do this?

I thought so too, but I have not managed to get it to work. I was only playing around with "new features" (as we recently upgraded to 9.3.1.) nothing that required production intensive research.

How to get the current month for a variable based on info object 0FISCPER3

I am working on the financial reports i am failing to derive the Current month from the variable based on infobject 0FISCPER3 PERIOD .
I would also like to get the same month from the prevoius year. Any ideas?

If I understood correctly, you need in your repot
Current Month Plan This year || YTD Plan This Year || Current Month Plan Last Year || YTD Plan Last Year
Your variable 0I_FISCPER3 must be on the object 0FISCPER3 which is nothing but just the Fiscal Period. This variable is a user entry mandatory Interval variable.
if you are entering a range in the input screen for this variable, you will get cumulative values. If you just need to get the value for a month in first column your report, you will have to create another variable of type Customer Exit which will read the "To value" entered for the variable 0I_FISCPER3 and columns for Current Month should be restricted on this variable.
if you are entering a single value in the selection screen of this variable, current month column should be restricted on this variable with "Equal To" operation and YTD colmns should be restricted to "Less Than Equal to" operator with this variable.
0FISCPER3 just have posting period and not year, so you will have to use varialbes for 0FISCYEAR separately.
Please let us know if it helps or if you are using some other variable based on 0FISCPER3 or 0FISCPER.

ICal won't open at all.

I quit iCal and shut down on Oct. 2 @ 7:20 am. Powered up and iCal failed to open on boot as usual. Clicked on iCal in dock, icon bounced once then dead. In Finder/apps, iCal has a red negative sign on the folder.

Welcome to Apple Discussions,
The do not enter sign on the iCal Application usually indicates the program is damaged (this can happen for a variety of reasons, but force quitting is one I see every now and then on the boards).
You can try downloading and installing the last OS update which includes the iCal update: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1048
If the do not enter sign is still there, remove iCal to the trash from the Applications folder and then reinstall it following this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3415
Once reinstalled you will need to install the Combo update again http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1048.

On open, no events in current month on ical?

When I open iCal, the correct month displays, but it is empty. When I select another month then return to the current month, all events appear. Very frustrating!

How can I make iCal in Lion open to the current date?

I just updated from Snow Leopard to Lion and have had all of the frustrations with changes to iCal that are well-documented here and elsewhere. One issue I haven't seen addressed, however, is a new behavior after quitting and re-starting.
Previously, no matter what month/day/week I was viewing when I quit iCal, it would open the next time to the current (month/day/week). Now, it opens to whatever date(s) I was last viewing when I quit.
This is highly annoying - 99% of the time, if I quit iCal while looking at (some date 6 months into the future), that is NOT the date I'm looking for when I re-launch. It's much more consistent behavior to always re-open to the current date, in whatever view (month/day/week) I previously used. So if today I launch iCal and I'm thinking about adding an event a month in the future, I open iCal, change to month view if needed, and go forward one month. This is the way iCal always worked previously. Instead, the version in Lion might leave me on any random month, depending on what I was doing when I closed the program the last time, and so I have to figure out "what month/week am I looking at?" before I know how to navigate. Very irritating. (As is the move of the forward/back buttons away from the month/day/week buttons, necessitating that I move the cursor to two different areas of the screen in order to navigate. Whose idea was THAT?)
I haven't found a preference to resolve this bizarre behavior change. Can anyone help?

Current month open sales orders

Hello Experts,
I have requirement to build a custom report to calculate open sales order quantity and its count for current month. I know we can use VBBE for open quantity and VBUP for the status to capture the count, however how can i add the logic to get the required information for the current month. Is there a function module or BAPI available which can be of any help, i have to consider the performance issue too, if i were to use multiple tables. Please advise

There is a standard BAPI available for listing Sales Orders.
<b>BAPI_SALESORDER_GETLIST</b>
However to meet your requirement of <b>OPEN sales orders</b>, you will have to modify this BAPI to suit your purpose. You can give appropriate logic to you ABAPer with reference to tables VBUK,VBUP, etc. This means that you will have to create a new Z-BAPI, keeping the above BAPI as the core.
Once this is done you can wrap Z-BAPI in a transaction code or a program/ report, so that it is ready to use by business.
Selection Variants can be used to default the date range as 01/MM/XXXXX to 31/MM/XXXX.

Can you please tell me the condition required to be put on Net Sales for Open Orders.
Which characteristic is actually required? Should I restrict the Net Sales by the Overall Delivery Status of ordered items(0dlv_stso)?

all this works but when i right click on a message or news item and select "OPEN IN NEW TAB" - it fails to open the tab in this current window it opens it in the parent window --
the way i have always used this is to able to select news and right click all news items to read as new tabs and have all news items or messages to be grouped in the child window

the user jay_ff shows how to do it using the Menu Editor Add-on
1. Install the Menu Editor add-on from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ .
2. After the installation, go to Firefox> add-ons (or simply use Ctrl+Shift+A)
3. Go to the Menu Editor "Options"
4. In the "Main context menu," simply grab the "Open link in New Tab" and place it below the "Open Link in New Window"
5. and Voila! You may also change other menu options if you want to!
I tried jay_ff method first and found that indeed changing the Main Context Menu did cause the hotlink context menu to change as well.

Calendar (not called iCal anymore) does not include that capability any longer, apparently. What you have to do now is go to Automator and create a Calendar Alert action. You can add a Run AppleScript object to the action and paste in your script there, then when you save it, it will become available as a choice in the alert menu in Calendar.

Blue TODAY banner on monthly iCal calendar doesn't indicate current date

Why doesn't the blue TODAY banner on monthly iCal calendar on iPad indicate current day? (I.e., today is Wednesday Feb 8 but the blue TODAY banner is still on Tues Feb 7) . I'm syncing to my other devices with iCloud. This problem only happens on the iPad.

Duh... My contrast settings were messed up and I couldn't see that today's date was highlighted.

IPad current month doesn't show any events on load.

I have an iPad original running last iOS 5 allowed.
Whenever I launch my calendar, set to month view, the current month is blank.
I have to click any previous month, which displays all events properly, and then click back to current month which forces the event data to load.
Anyone know why the current data isn't displaying on launch?
I'm on a fast WiFi (30 Mbps dnld) so it can't be a broadband issue.

Sorry, missed that fact. My memory is good, but short.
Try moving the "Calendar Cache" file to your Desktop. Quit iCal, and find the "Calendar Cache" file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars. Move that file to your Desktop. After that, (I remember that I recommended this before), as long as you are moving files to the Desktop, repeat the plist removal procedure once again, log out/in or restart.
You should also consider removing the "To Do's" from Mail before restarting iCal. When you open iCal turn off "Show Birthdays calendar" in iCal>Preferences...>General.
Are you syncing any data? If so, what method(s) are you using?
