ICal - Google Sync - Availability is not supported

MacBook Pro 10.5.4
iCal 3.0.4 (1263)
Have existing iCal calendar
setup Google account
tried to link iCal and Google calenders
In iCal Preferences - Accounts - Account Information
I get the message
Availability on the server is not supported for this account
I have no idea which "server" or which "account"
Thank you

And it is not about the app being supported or not by the Nokia 603, or Nokia Corporation, but it is about Google not supporting the phone(s).
If Google wants Google Maps to work on the Nokia 603, then Google has the means to make it happen.
Otherwise, what's wrong with Nokia Maps for your needs? What do you think Google Maps does better?

  • I am unable to sync my iPhone4 iCal to my Mac iCal. Snow Leopard does not support the Cloud. What do I do?

I am unable to sync my iPhone4S iCal to my Mac iCal. Snow Leopard is my OS and it does not support the cloud. What do I do?

To makeuse of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mountain Lion, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
The requirements for Mountain Lion are listed here:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

  • BlackBerry Media Sync - Operating system not supported ?

I downloaded BB Media Sync & when I went to install it came up with error message that the operating system was not supported. According to requirements listed, I meet ALL the criteria. Below is the info on my computer & Curve. If anyone can help I will be grateful.
Windows XP, MCE 2002, Service Pack 3
2 GB RAM, 170 GB drive space available
    iTunes version 7.6
BlackBerry Desktop version 4.5, Device 4.2.2.180
    Curve model 8320 w/ 4 GB media card (T-Mobile)
    Thanks, Rick

I have an almost identical setup for both PC and Desktop 4.5. I am with Verizon, but I don't see that affecting anything.
I know it's pretty basic, but have you removed the software through setting on the PC and tried downloading and reinstalling?
    Just a thought.

  • Google Chrome Users and Not Supported method

Google Chrome users are getting the intermittent message Not Supported Method while trying to login or browser the verizon.com site. We are aware of the issue and are working towards a permanent fix to prevent this from happening in the future. I will update when we have them available. In the meantime there are 2 work arounds that fix this.
1, Clear Cookies before Attempting to login. Close the browser after doing this and then try to login.
    2. Use a different browser. I personally use Firefox and have never experienced an issue.
Right now those are the only 2 options for immediate access

Actually, for those of you who want to continue using Google Chrome, there is a third option:
Selection the "customize and Control Wrench symbol drop down menu and select "new Incognito Window" and enter the Verizon login URL.  This worked every time for me while normal login never worked and I received the useless "Not Supported Method" message.
There is also a fourth option to use Chrome without eliminating all of your cookies by just deleting the "Verizon" cookies, but you may have to do this before logging in to the Verizon site.  I have not identified the specific Cookie(s) which are creating the Verizon error message, maybe someone else has time to ID these.  Anyone who feels creative can also write a script to auto-delete the offending cookies at login.
Also, 2 other users reported that Firefox also does not work and they get the same error message, so that is not a simple solution for all.
This problem has been reportedly been going on since November, so don't expect a quick answer from Verizon
Hope this helps you fellow Chrome lovers.

  • IPhone 4 Google Sync Push Email not Working?

    Hi all,
I don't seem to be getting push e-mail on the iPhone. Overnight I sent a couple e-mails to my iPhone, but the phone did not pick up the messages until I manually launched the mail client.
Shouldn't the phone have received a e-mail notification regardless?
I'm using Google Sync with the Exchange Server settings.
I'm on WiFi at home - does Push require 3G to work correctly?
    Message was edited by: coolspot

I recently got an iPad and had the exact same problem! - except I'm using Gmail.
I take it you are attempting to set it up through hotmail as you cannot see the Exchange server settings then?
Well, seen as I couldn't get my gmail account to push emails, I set my gmail up with Exchange and have found that the option to enter the server is found later on, did you try entering the required fields in Exchange and proceeding to the next page of the setup?
Settings > Mail, contacts, calendars > Add account > Exchange > enter your email address, password, and description > Then when you press next the server option should pop up where you can enter col-m.homtail.com, leave the domain blank, and re-write your email address in the username.
I am using iPad 4 version 6.0.1 also and this worked for my Gmail.
    Hope you get it fixed!

  • HTC TB with Ford SYNC USB - "HUBS NOT SUPPORTED"

Anyone else set up their Thunderbolt with Ford Sync over USB connection? I am unable to get it to work. I get "HUBS NOT SUPPORTED" on the SYNC screen no matter what setting I use on the TB. Bluetooth works fine but the audio quality is horrible. This is why I'm trying to get USB to work.

I've had a similar issue and I haven't found a resolution to the problem.  However, when connecting with bluetooth, the quality is much better if you turn the volume all the way up on your media device -- that way it's sending the most powerful signal to the car.  Then control your audio volume through your car for best results.  Hope this helps you until htc (or verizon) comes out with a fix to the problem.

  • ICal/Google sync issues since iOS 8.2 update

Since the update to iOS 8.2 a few days ago, iCal on my iPhone 5s is not syncing with my Google Calendar.  I have already reset the 2 step verification on my Google calendar permissions, checked to make sure events are in the Google calendar and not in the iPhone calendar, and checked settings to make sure the Google calendar is selected.  The only thing I have not tried (because I'm worried that changes I made prior to realizing thisi was an issue would be lost) is deleting my Google account from the iPhone and reconnecting.  Is that really my only remaining option?  I'm stumped.

I'm facing the same issue on iOS 8.2 iPhone6. iCal is not syncing on the iPhone. It does, however, sync from Yosemite to iCloud.com.

  • App Shortcut Widget - Ovi Sync available, but not ...

I've set up a SyncML profile for Google Contacts (so I don't have to waste my MfE) account using the Sync app on my N8.
I want to add an application shortcut of "Sync" (not Ovi Sync) to the shortcut bar.
When I browse the list of applications, it is nowhere in the list.
I would be happy with a "main menu" item if that is all we have available. I set one shortcut to "Tools" which shows "Ovi Sync" as a menu item, but not plain old "Sync".
When I browse the available apps using the Grid Application (from Ovi Store), I can see an Ovi Sync, and a Sync icon.
So why can't I select plain old Sync from the apps menu?
Am I missing something really basic here?

    Hi Spamthroat,
When you see Shazam in the updates available, it means that you can download this application and install it in your mobile. For this, it is not mandatory to have it installed already.
If you want to install this application, go ahead and install it by updating. If that fails you can also try installing the same by downloading the same from OVi store too.
If you dont need to install the application, you can ignore that update

  • ICal Google Syncing problem

I shared with my mom, who has a Galaxy s4, my iCal calenders. Her iMac is to old and does not have iCloud. Is there another way she could view my iCal events from her android through either her default calender app or gmail? I do not want to have to add my gmail account to her phone

Not sure why you've posted this in the iCloud.com forum. You'd be better off asking on the Google Calendar forums, since that is the product you're trying to share calendars from, or an Android forum, as that is the product you're trying to share calendars with.

  • "You can't open the application iCal.app because it is not supported on this type of Mac."???

Can't seem to find this posted anywhere else.  My iCal won't run and has that circle / slash icon overlay.  By the modification dates etc. it looks like the lat update killed it.
Ay ideas or anyone else seen this?

  • Problem when syncing; file type not supported by iPod...

I imported a new CD into iTunes today and when I hooked-up my iPod and tried to sync it with iTunes I received an error message on 69 of my files stating that the file type isn't supported by the iPod. The strange thing is, the files that are getting the error message aren't any of the new files and they've been on my iPod for a long time, some for well over a year. All of my files in in MP3 format so I know that my iPod supports the file type. Anyone experience this before or know how to correct this?
By the way, I tried burning some of the files to CD, deleting them from iTunes and then importing them back into iTunes in MP3 format. The end result was the same and I still get the same error message.

Nevermind, I finally found a thread with a fix. It appears that this is a quirk of iTunes 7.2 that requires moving the files to a new location (out of iTunes), deleting the files from iTunes and then putting the files back into iTunes. That worked and all my files are synced again.

  • Syncing Genius Mixes not supported?

Before turning on iTunes Match, I was able to sync Genius Mixes from within the device's MUSIC tab in iTunes. I cannot find this functionality anymore with iTunes Match. Am I missing something?

I've been having the same problem for quite some time and haven't been able to find a solution. I've space on my phone for all the genius mixes, but after several syncs, it unchecks everything except one genius playlist.
If I miss it on a sync, it takes 1-2 hours to recopy all the music back to my phone. If anyone can suggest a solution, I'd be grateful. And if I figure it out someday baefed, I'll post it here.

  • Syncing with Firewire not supported?

Is it just me or is it crazy to release an iPod with a larger hard disk capacity and then take away the faster option of syncing with Firewire and only allowing it via USB?
Anyone got any guesses how long it will take to fully load a new 80Gb iPod now?
Are Apple going to change this or shall I just take it back to the store and stick with my old one?

This topic has been discussed in great detail, many times before, dating back to October of 2005 with the release of the original 5th Gen iPod.
If you search for Firewire in this forum, you'll be presented with hundreds of posts which answer any Firewire related questions or concerns you might have.
There is really no need to begin a new topic about this.

  • Address book to google sync  does not work

I use Google apps as my primary calendar and address book. I have them synced to the Mac OS X ical and address book (to use off line). I have the Mac OS X ical and address book synced to mobile me to update other computers and my iphone.
The net result is everything matches the Google apps calendar and address book.
    Well, not so fast.
The calendar does work as expected.
In the Mac OS X address book, the Google sync option does not sync (you can enter in your user name and password fine, it appears to make connection fine, but it does not sync). The mobile me does sync as expected.
It is simple, there is not a lot you can do wrong, it just does not work.
As a work around, I am using Googles over the air sync to iPhone which does work, but that means the mac address book is getting skipped.
When does the checked Synchronize with Google happen in address book? When you open address book? Why does the option only appear if you have an iPhone? How do I get the address book to google sync to work?
    Any ideas?
    thanks
    bob

Mine actually performs the sync, but after a few rounds of syncing, some contacts get deleted, some get their photos removed, some get duplicated, and some get removed from groups. The sync basically puts my address book through a blender. I'm syncing both with MobileMe and Google. Well, that is I tried to. I've decided not to sync with Google since that's what seems to initiate the mess.
