ICal Google Syncing problem

I shared with my mom, who has a Galaxy s4, my iCal calenders. Her iMac is to old and does not have iCloud. Is there another way she could view my iCal events from her android through either her default calender app or gmail? I do not want to have to add my gmail account to her phone

Not sure why you've posted this in the iCloud.com forum. You'd be better off asking on the Google Calendar forums, since that is the product you're trying to share calendars from, or an Android forum, as that is the product you're trying to share calendars with.

  • Google Syncing Problem

For a long time now I've had Google sync set up using exchange for my Google calendar. I'm using a normal Gmail account. No problems. Yesterday I set up a new Gmail account and established a new set of contacts, and set up a 2nd Exchange account on my phone for it. No problems. It brought the GMail contacts down to my phone just fine. Then I added a new contact on the phone and noticed that it never made it to my Gmail contacts, as if push wasn't working from the phone to the Google cloud. It had been almost half a day since I added it but the new contact never synced. So I decided to delete my Calendar account and re-add it back, just to see if syncing was happening at all with Google. Maybe Google servers were down. Sure enough, the calendars didn't sync either. Then I deleted my contacts account and re-added it back, but the contacts did come back. The Calendar account still hasn't synced at all though. I checked my wife's phone, who uses the same Google Calendar account, and her's is working just fine. Basically, is anyone else having recent problems with Google syncing? Is there a way to force the push sync? It sure appears that something's amiss on my particular phone with push syncing. Any ideas?

This was a big "never mind". Somehow the correct calendar group wasn't selected in the groups to display. Operator error.

  • ICal / iPhone sync problems - events don't appear in iCal

I have MobileMe set up on both my MacBook and iPhone. All iCal-created events now appear on my iPhone (although only those after 9th May 2008; none before), but if I create an event on my iPhone then it doesn't show up on iCal. If I check MobileMe on the internet, my web-based version of iCal has all events, including those that I create on the iPhone.
On iCal I have two calendar types: Home (Blue) and Work (Green). On my iPhone there are now four types, for some reason: two Homes (both Blue) and two Works (both Green). I have tried experimenting by creating events in all calendars, but none sync to appear in iCal on my MacBook.
    Help!

After 3.5 hours on the phone with applecare, I believe this problem of not syncing ical from ipod touch to the ical app is resolved. Here are the steps that made it happen for me:
Log out of main account and log into root account. If you haven't set up the root user yet follow the directions in your Mac Help on your computer. Make sure you understand the implications of setting up the root user account. You may want to disable the root user after you are done with this fix.
In Finder, navigate to /Users/(your account)/Library/Application Support and delete every folder in the Application Support directory that has the word 'Sync' in the folder's name.
Log out of the root account and back into your main account. Sync your ipod touch / iphone and see if this worked for you.
    Good Luck!

  • ICal/Google sync issues since iOS 8.2 update

Since the update to iOS 8.2 a few days ago, iCal on my iPhone 5s is not syncing with my Google Calendar.  I have already reset the 2 step verification on my Google calendar permissions, checked to make sure events are in the Google calendar and not in the iPhone calendar, and checked settings to make sure the Google calendar is selected.  The only thing I have not tried (because I'm worried that changes I made prior to realizing thisi was an issue would be lost) is deleting my Google account from the iPhone and reconnecting.  Is that really my only remaining option?  I'm stumped.

I'm facing the same issue on iOS 8.2 iPhone6. iCal is not syncing on the iPhone. It does, however, sync from Yosemite to iCloud.com.

  • Exchang, Mail, Ical - strange sync problem

    Hi
I have a very strange problem... i guess.
After installing Snow Leopard both on my MacBook Pro and my Imac I've set up Exchange 2007.
It all works just fine on the MB, both mail and calendar. Downloading mails and syncing my calendar events. I can also subscribe to my co-workers calendars, all good.
However, on the Imac it's downloading my mail, and syncs with my calendar, but I cant subscribe to my co-workers calendars, and I can't find any differences in the setup in Ical. It wont even show which calendars that's available...
Is there anybody who had similar problems? :o/
    Kind Regards, Michel

Here is what I would do, as a test.
    1) Check to see if you selected within iCal's preference the "Show Birthdays calendar" option. If so, close the preferences window, select the Birthdays calendar and Export to your drive (Desktop) for backup. Then return to iCal preference and uncheck the Birthdays calendar option.
    2) Create a new calendar named Test (or whatever you choose other than Birthdays). Create a bogus all-day event for the new calendar like you would have for someone's birthday in the Birthdays calendar, and place it on a day that you have one of your appointments.
    3) Sync to your phone and see the results. If the events show up correctly on your phone, then return to iCal and change your new calendar's name to Birthdays, create another all-day event on the day of a current appointment and again sync with your phone.
    4) If this too is correct on your phone after synching, then the culprit would be the iCal's Birthdays setting. I would then leave this option off and then import the backup export I made in step 1 into my new Birthdays calendar.
    5) Once again sync w/ the phone to see if the issue is gone. If so, you have your workaround.
If not, or if during any of the other steps the issue arose, I would say the problem lies within your Nokia or maybe even another calendar. That be the case, somewhat repeat the steps above in creating a new calendar, exporting the "bad" calendar, test a new entry in the new calendar to sync w/ your phone, and if successful, import the "bad" calendar's data into your new calendar to see if that is successful.
A bit of work, but it just might resolve your issue. Good luck and I look forward to seeing if it works.

  • ICal events sync problem

    Hi,
I am using Leopard 10.5.1 on my Mac Mini and am adding events and alarms in iCal but they dont get uploaded on my iPhone when I sync it in iTunes.
If it makes any difference, all my calenders were originally created created in Tiger.
    Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem. Whenever I create a new event in iCal it will not sync to my iPhone. No solution yet except to use the calendar in Entourage instead; those events will sync without any problem. This started with I upgraded to Leopard.

  • Ical & iphone sync problem

Each time I sync my iphone to my macbook all new appointments are transferred, but the times on the iphone are reset 4 hours earlier. The appointments and times stay are correct on the macbook.
I have made new appointments on the iphone and they are successfully transferred to the macbook, but the time is changed 4 hours back on the iphone. Has to be an easy fix?
I have checked the settings to be sure time zones and all are set correctly. Anyone have any suggestions? I really just want to use ical and the iphone calendar together. Thanks

On your iphone open Settings -> General -> Date & Time.
If time zone support is on, make sure the time zone is set correctly.
If the time zone is set correctly, try turning time zone support and set time automatically off.
make sure the time on the iphone is set correctly.
Then try to sync the iphone again.
    Hope this helps.

  • ICal - Google Sync - Availability is not supported

    MacBook Pro 10.5.4
    iCal 3.0.4 (1263)
    Have existing iCal calendar
    setup Google account
tried to link iCal and Google calenders
In iCal Preferences - Accounts - Account Information
    I get the message
Availability on the server is not supported for this account
I have no idea which "server" or which "account"
    Thank you

And it is not about the app being supported or not by the Nokia 603, or Nokia Corporation, but it is about Google not supporting the phone(s).
If Google wants Google Maps to work on the Nokia 603, then Google has the means to make it happen.
Otherwise, what's wrong with Nokia Maps for your needs? What do you think Google Maps does better?

  • Ical, icloud sync problem. mac to phone

When I add an event on my phone ical it will appear on the Mac, but if I add on the mac calendar it won't appear on phone calendar. Yet if I delete an event on my mac it will delete on phone calendar. Any ideas?

    jnll,
Use iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar to help you sort out your problems.
Have you checked, or tried changing the iCal>Preferences...>Accounts>"Refresh Calendars:" settings?

  • Blackberry, iCal, Google Calendar: Synchronisation help.

    Hi,
I want to be able to synchronise my appointments and engagements between Google Calendar, iCal and my Blackberry Calendar application. So far, I've been able to achieve either iCal to Google or Blackberry to iCal, but not all three.
The problem I have is that Google Calendars only synchronises from the "Google" Calendar on iCal, and that the BB Calendars application needs a calendar to be created under the section "On My Mac" on iCal to be able to sync. The long and short of it is that BB syncs to one calendar on iCal, Google syncs out of another and I can't get the two to line up or consolidate automatically. Is there any way I can set iCal to consolidate all calendars into one automatically, or get the BB to synchronise to the Google calendar, possibly by fooling it into thinking it is under the "On My Mac" section?
    Thanks in advance.

Google and iCal will sync with no problems

  • ICal/Google Calendar no longer sync since April 23 2011

In the last week of April iCal/Google calendar sync has quit working.  When trying to sync the iCal and the Google.  The message I get is that  "iCal found the CalDAV server 'www.google.com', but couldn't log in with the user name "XXXXXX". Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then try again.  I originally noticed the bouncing iCal icon about April 23-24 and at the time it said that the account [email protected] could not update. I re-entered the information for the account and it still ddid not update.  I deleted the account on iCal hoping that a re-enter of all the information would get things up and running and it has not.
I have looked over the available responses to similar problems and none of them have made any difference.
    Please always include:
    Mac OS X 10.6.7
Program and version you use to access Google Calendar (e.g. Internet Explorer 7 or Outlook 2003):  Safari 5.0.5 (6533.21.1) and Google Chrome 11.0.696.57 and iCal Version 4.0.4 (1395.7)
I also cannot set up the account on the iPad (I was hoping to do so as a work around).  Interestingly enough, my wife who subscribes to my Google Calendar as a delegate still gets the updates and things are working for her on her iMac using iCal.

There is a big discussion on this topic on the google calendar forum: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Calendar/thread?tid=7f08411ae09ca8da&hl=en
    As I wrote there:
I'm suffering the same, but I have some more information about it.  I have multiple delegates, so I have had the "good fortune" to be able to have some of them go bad and still have others to experiment with.
The ones that have gone bad are those where I made a change in iCal and then tried to refresh.
When I made changes on my google calendars I was still able to refresh in iCal and have the change show up.  But as soon as I made a change in iCal, the refresh gave that error message.
Also, I just downloaded the newest OS (OS 5) for my iPod touch (gen. 3).  That was yesterday afternoon.. and yesterday evening is when I first noticed this problem.  I can't imagine it's simply coincidence.
I just discovered one more thing.  Even the calendars that don't work both ways continue to work one way; changes made on Google Calendar continue to show up in iCal, even though the error message shows up that it can't contact the server or has the wrong address.  It's almost like the relationship has turned into "subscriptions" rather than "delegates".
I have restarted my iMac and repaired permissions with no success.
    iMac running 10.6.8
    Accessing Google Calendar with Safari.

  • Google Calendar Delegates in iCal Not Syncing

    Hello Everyone.
I've been stumped on my issue for some time and have been researching but found nothing.
    OSX: 10.6.8
    iCal: 4.0.4
My boss uses google calendar.  I'm his assistant and he's shared that calendar with me so that I have access to it through my google account and I can add and delete events.
I like using iCal.  So I synced my iCal up with my google Calendar.  I used the calDAV method of syncing.  I can add and delete events to my calendar just fine.  I was able to add and delete events to my boss' calendar by creating a delegate calendar through iCal.  Everything worked fine.  However my boss added another calendar to his google account.  I didn't think this would have any effect on my ability to edit events as I simply set up my boss' new calendar as another delegate in iCal.
The problem now is that I cannot get either of my delegate accounts to sync.
I deleted my calDAV and started from scratch in iCal.  I added my googole account and delegates.  Everything works fine.  All of my boss' events load into my iCal but as soon I I try to edit one of them my delegate will no longer sync.
It seems like this should work and be easy but I cannot find a solution to keep my delegates syncing.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
I also have a mobileMe calDAV that syncs just fine with iCal.
    Thanks!
    -Drew

Similar problem here. I can select the delegate calendars within iCal, but it simply doesn't sync any events for the delegate calendars. I'm also returned an error if I try to manually subscribe to the calendars, e.g. using a direct link from the Google calendar settings.
Either way, I think it's all related to a known block Google have implemented to deal with an iCloud conflict. Keep an eye here for a solution...although it's been several months already obviously:
    http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en-GB&answer=99360#
NB. The iPhone select solution will get things rolling on any iOS devices.

  • Ical not syncing to google calendar

Hi everyone. I can't seem to find a solution to my iCal and Google calendar problem. Here is my information:
    MacBook Pro - version 10.6.8
    iCal - 4.04
I have all of my Google calendars set up in iCal. When I enter any events from within Google Calendar on the web, it then syncs flawlessly to my iCal...delegates included.
However, when I make a change in iCal itself on my computer, I get this error: The calendar https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user//www.google.com/calendar/dav/[email protected]/user was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct.
I removed the / that gets inserted at the end of the above address like some have suggested but iCal keeps putting it back in there. I am also noticing that I don't have this problem when I enter events from iCal on my iPhone or iPad. It only happens on my MacBook Pro.
    Please help!!!!!!!

According to Google: "Setting up iCloud sync has caused events to be wiped from Google Calendar for some of our users who were syncing information between iCal and Google Calendar. In response, we've stopped deleting the information until this issue is fixed. Until further notice, deleting any event in iCal will not remove this event from Google Calendar (for iCal 4 users, all changes made after a delete attempt will not be saved in Google Calendar). We've contacted Apple and we are actively working on this. We're also attempting to restore the deleted events. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, we'll keep you posted. As a workaround, we suggest you remove event in the Web version of Google Calendar (calendar.google.com). This change would be properly synced with your iCal."

  • ICal - Exchange - Google sync : losing ownership of appointments

I have two computers - one for work and one at home. I manage my calendars in Outlook on my work machine and in iCal on my home Mac. In order to see my calendar on my iPhone, I sync my outlook calendar with my google calendar using Google Calendar sync. (My work doesn't provide direct connection to Exchange on iPhone.)
The problem I'm having is whenever I sync calendars in iCal with the Exchange server, I lose control of the appointment. After the sync, it treats the appointment as though I'm an invitee only - I cannot add attendees or change an appointment attribute. I call a lot of meetings and they frequently change. Every time this happens, I have to e-mail the attendees and have them manually edit the appointment and have our receptionist fix the room scheduling. Major hassle!
Anyone else have this issue? If so, how did you resolve it? Or, is there a better way to accomplish an Outlook - iCal - Google calendar sync?

  • Sync problem through iTunes between iOS devices and iCal

This is a mess and has been troubling me for months. Please help!
    ***Devices:
    iPhone 5, iOS current
    iPad 1, iOS current
    MacBook Pro 10.7.current, iCal (2.8 ghz ICD2)
    ***Sync setup:
I have and have used a MobileMe account but made sure both iPhone and iPad were set for *no* calendar sync. There's no sync checkbox for Calendar sync with the MobileMe Systems Preferences (there was in earlier versions). For the sake of thoroughness I went into MobileMe via it's web interface and deleted each calendar (creating a "tossme" calendar with no events in it because Mme requires one calendar). I signed out / sign back in periodically because I was getting errors occasionally. The online Mme Calendar is completely empty as far as I can see.
After a sync (for backup) I unchecked the Info > Calendar box and agreed to delete all events on the iPhone and the iPad. That wiped off whatever was on the iPad and the iPhone. Then I re-checked all calendars for both devices, setting them to not sync events over 30 days. The calendars on both the iPhone and the iPad now had events from the iCal calendars on my MBkP. But the iPad and iPhone calendars *also* had a few events not on the MBkP: They had "New Event" from when I created an even not he iCal calendar and then renamed and / or changed the calendar for that even. They *also* had the blank and default New Event.
    ***Test events
I then went to each device in turn and created an event at 4 PM today in the default calendar called, respectively, from iPad, from iPhone, from MBkP ical. I then synced both the iPad and iPhone through iTunes as usual. What happened is *exactly* what's been happening for about 6 months. Here was what was on each device after a successful sync:
MBkPro: Only the "from MBkP iCal" event and no other of these test events.
iPhone: Four events: New Event, from MBkP iCal, from iPhone, from iPad
iPad: exactly the same events as the iPhone has.
I then deleted *all* of the four events *just* from the iPhone and synced these devices in this specific order: iPhone, iPad.
After the deletion inn the iPhone and the since I end up with this: Just the from MBkP iCal on all three devices.
    ***Conclusions:
    These devices sync but
--the MBkP *only one way*, that is *to* the iPhone and iPad, including (annoyingly) every iteration of an event instead of the final form of an event (hence every "new event"….)
--Both the iPad and iPhone sync all events back and forth amongst themselves and take as separate events every stage of any event *from* the MBkP iCal but nothing *to* the iCal on the MBkP. (This generates lots of other dups, by the way…I'm outlining the simplest case here.)
    ***Other stuff I've tried
Back when I could get iCal to sync calendars / events with Mme I using that as a conduit for sync between the three (i.e.: telling iTunes to ignore calendar syncing). And a bunch of other stuff. Same result.
I've examined lots of settings repeatedly. No change.
    ***What I want:
I'd like all three of these devices to
--sync as equals--each of them to sync their calendars / events back and forth (i.e.: the iCal on MBkP taking events from both the iPad and iPhone).
--Each of them to only have the most recently modified version of an event.
--ideally (but not as important) a copy of all these calendars and evens on the web-based MobileMe calendar (although I recall hearing that Apple is phasing out this function).
(Note that I rarely post here, please e-mail me at [email protected] if you comment here. Or does this system notify me automatically of any comments?)

    I'm having the same issue.
It started when I updated the iOS 7 on my Iphone 5 and my ipad mini and downloaded de iTunes 11.1.
Now I can't sync my playlists all at once or even in few selections of playlists, because it gets stucked on fourth step "waiting for changes to be applied" and after some minutes the sync simbol disappear on iphone and continues on iTunes, but it does nothing.
I also left an entire night to see if the problem was slowness to sync, but it did nothing, it really gets stucked. I've also tried a few different ways to sync (restart, reset, clean logs), but it doesn't work and it isn't allowing me to sync a couple of playlists in a row. Sometimes even a single playlist is not syncing.
I believe a new iTunes release it will be required
