ICAL ICON DISAPPEARED IN DOC

The ical Icon has disappeared from the DOC . Despite lots of trouble shooting I cannot seem to get it to display. Thank You in advance! FYI. The Contacts Icon is OK...

Have you tried dragging it from the Applications folder into the Dock? See: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2474
If you have tried that can you let us know what else you have done to trouble shoot.

That means that you have an event invitation. Click on the envelope icon in the bottom left corner of the iCal window to display the invitation and choose what to do with it.

My ical icon disappeared from my main screen on my 4G iphone. I can still access the calendar by using spotlight so I know it's on the phone but how can I replace icon?

Stock apps can't be deleted, so either its been moved to another page or placed in a folder. If you're positive you've looked on every page & in every folder and still can't see it, do this: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. See if you see it now.

On Finder Freeze/Relaunch All my desktop files & icons disappear

The title sums it up.
When ever my mac decides to go into spinning wheel mode and I have to force quit/relaunch finder, when I relaunch finder every desktop file & icon disappear.
At that point I'm forced to push the shutdown button on the tower and reboot, then all is well until the next time.
And the next time could be a day or a few days or a week. No rhyme or reason why.
Please help me solve this frustrating problem.

Cloud backup plans can slow your Mac down, and if used simultaneously with your Mac's networking, or you have an unreliable internet connection, could be the cause of your freezes. You may be better off seeing if turning off iCloud temporarily helps. This can especially be a problem with non-Apple routers whose firmware may not be up to date. Multitasking with backups can lead to corruption of your backups. Time Machine should only backup to hard drives twice the capacity of the original, otherwise it spends a lot of time trying to discover which archives to eraes to maintain room. Energy Saver can also create problems for backups, as it takes a moment for the Mac to recognize the connection. Use screen saver instead of Energy Saver when backing up. System Preferences lets you control both. Putting hard drives to sleep when backing up is ill advised.

ICal app disappeared?

I've been using iCal for a couple of years. Yesterday - in completely normal usage - my iCal application disappeared. Or rather then iCal app icon now looks like sheet of paper with pen, pencil and ruler forming a letter A.
I currently cannot access any calendar information.
Guidance on how to restore my iCal application - and my calendar data - most welcomed.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

Ical icon become clear prior to machine freezing

I am running 10.5.7 on a macbook 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Occasionally my ical icon in the dock looses all of its color and becomes clear - just the number remains and it is black. When this occurs, the computer freezes. I had hoped the 10.5.7 update would fix this problem, but alas, it did not. Anyone out there have thoughts on how to fix this problem?

On both an imac and macbook I have had etilqs files appearing mysteriously in the hard drive. When these files show up it, the computer will then freeze. They signify one of two things: a) Firefox problem or b) hard drive failure. We've narrowed it down to a hard drive failure.
The characteristics of this failure are as follows:
1. Ical icon will become totally clear with only the date being displayed in the dock
2. Time Machine will no longer backup and the round arrow around the clock hour hands, disappears.
3. The etilqs files will appear in the hard drive.
The only fix for this is to install new hard drives in the computers.

ICal icon moves to right of dock

The iCal icon relocated itself to the right of the doc. Any attempt to relocate it back to the original location fails. I have moved it into the trash and then opened the Applications folder and moved the icon to the dock but it again jumps to the right. Holding down the control key and checking options and then Keep in Dock or Open at Login does not fix the problem. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks. Jeff

Success !!! Your Safe Boot was the solution.
Thought that you might want to see the communication from August 2010 which I finally located and had the following information:
First, All applications (except Finder) must be closed.
On the Finder menu bar, click on "Go," then on "Home."
Go into the Library folder
Delete the Caches folder
Go into the Library / Preferences folder
Delete the files: com.apple.iApps.plist; com.apple.iCal.helper.plist; and com.apple.iCal.plist
Restart system
This did not work this time but was effective in 2010, so not sure why this and your previous suggestions were not effective .

The internet was working fine til 10:31am philippine time. Was downloading OSX Lion, at that time it was somewhere half. Then all of a sudden internet failed and lost connection. Called my ISP immediately and was told it would take 24-48hours for the service to be restored. THen after ending the call the OSx Lion icon disappeared. I dont know what to do. Im not techie at all. Hey allan. I dont know. Nothing seems to change. I still dont have net connection. Im at a net shop right now. (Not using mac.) What will happen to the OSX Lion that I payed for? The icon was gone. Im still in the middle of downloading it.

I downloaded IOS6 and all my apps, including the App Store icon, disappeared. If I go to the Passport icon, there is an App Store button, but I have to search through all the apps to find the one I want and then click on "Open" to use it. Help!

It sounds like the application you are looking for is indeed still on your iPhone. You can confirm this by searching in the Spotlight Search for this application. It may have accidentally been moved to a folder, or an additional Home screen:

ICal icon on my Mac Book Air displays a circled number at the upper right corner as does Mail for new emails - how do I find out what item(s) that number is referring to? And why does it show up on the Mac Book Air and not my 4S iPhone?

That number means that you have an event invitation. Use iCal>View>Show Notifications to choose what to do with the notification. Since OS X 10.7.2 is required for iCloud integration, I am not surprised that there are anomalies between the iPhone and the MacBook Pro.

I'm running iCloud on a Windows 7 PC. Photoes have been autmatically uploaded from my iPhone. However, the "Photoes" ICON does not load, and I receive an error message of a problem. Then the ICON disappears. How can I access my photoes?
