Ical invite not open

Dear All,
I have an iphone I setup my work email and it is working fine I get and receive email the problem is when I receive an invite I can't click the link (.ics) because the link is inactive.
I will appreciate if any one can tell me please how can i active the invite (.ics) in my iphone?
Regards
softdrink123

I don't think it is supported in the current version as I too cannot accept ics invitiations, but should be available in 3.0.

ical will not open. it crashes immediately. at first, it would open a blank calendar window, spin for a minute and then crash. now it just crashes immediately. i tried updating; but it didn't need it. i tried taking ical app from another mac in the house over a network connection, no luck. i ried reinstalling from os x disk with optionals install of just apps; no luck. i put the library/application support/ical folder in the trash, no luck; i put it back were it was. i don't know where to turn.

Look what I just found on .Mac discussions; I think this is not coincidence:
UPDATE: As of 10/25/07 5 PM PDT, the .Mac Sync maintenance is still in progress. We thank you for your patience as we work to restore service ASAP.
Due to scheduled maintenance of the .Mac Sync service beginning on October 19, 2007, members are unable to sync Safari Bookmarks or Mac OS X Address Book contacts to the www.mac.com website. We apologize for any inconvenience. Normal service will be restored ASAP. Read more for interim solutions.
Due to scheduled maintenance of the .Mac Sync service beginning on October 19, 2007, you may receive a dialogue asking "What would you like to do for this first sync?"
If you have received this dialogue, and have not recently reset your data on .Mac or registered your computer for syncing with .Mac, you can safely select to Merge data on your computer and .Mac. You may have to perform this step once on each computer that is syncing with .Mac.

    Tamara,
I'm not really sure what you want to do. Why can't iCal be open? What can be?
You could get MenuCalendarClock which sits in the menu bar: http://www.objectpark.net/mcc.html
Or ical viewer will put events on your desktop: http://www.icalviewer.com/
Comeback with more details if this doesn't do the trick.

    plaese help

    Having the same problem.
In another thread they suggest you go to iSync and in preferences clear the Sync History. However, this doesn't solve my problem either. So I hope some-one from Apple is reading this thread and can work on a solution?
I'm working with 10.4.7 on MacBook. Opening iCal shows the iCall screen, and as soon as it tries to connect to the webdav server it quits.

    Hi,
iCal is not finding the "GeoKit.framework" on your computer's system.  Perhaps it has been removed or there is some other issue with your computer.
Have you tried rebooting the computer?
If that does not help, you could try making a new user account on the computer and opening iCal there. Can you open it on a fresh user account?
    Best wishes
    John M

  • ICal does not open in mobileme

After I did the update Ical, when I walk into the me.com page does not open the program, is suing and locks. My mec, Iphone and Iphone also no longer sync with iCal and I can not resolve this error, anyone know how can I fix this?
    thanks

You don't say what operating system you're using. The upgrade to the new MobileMe calendar produces different results, and different problems, with different versions of OSX.
Snow Leopard: during the upgrade process your iCal calendars should be moved to MobileMe (this can take some time and you have to wait for it to happen). Once done, your iCal reads the calendars from MobileMe so any changes made in either place will be visible immediately. If this has not happened then this Apple Tech Note provides instructions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3397
Leopard: when the upgrade is completed iCal on Leopard will not be able to see the MobileMe calendars until an additional process is carried out, detailed in this Apple Tech Note:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4330
Tiger: iCal on Tiger cannot read the MobileMe calendars, period. The only workaround is to upgrade to Leopard, or Snow Leopard if possible (Intel Mac required).

  • Ical invitations not working, PLEEEEASE help! (long, sorry)

I have an iphone 4 running iOS 5.1.  My husband has a 3GS running 5.x (as current as he can get it, not sure if it's 5.1 or not).
I have my original apple ID from years ago, which I use for just about everything - it is NOT an apple email address.  Then I have the second mac.com apple ID I was forced to make.
Husband has a yahoo.com apple ID, and a me.com (which he never uses).
[Side note: WHY, OH WHY, won't Apple let us merge Apple IDs?? This is absurd!]
I have spent HOURS trying to troubleshoot my ical invitations, but can't figure it out.
When I invite him to an event from my phone-
If I invite his me.com address, he gets an alert in ical.  When he accepts it, it appears in his calendar, and I get a notification (in iCal on my iMac, but NOT on my phone) that he accepted. ***THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD WORK***.
If I invite his yahoo address (the one he uses exclusively) he gets an email that he's been invited.  If he accepts through email, I do not get a notification, but, if I look at the event details, it says he's accepted.  BUT!!!!! The event DOES NOT SHOW UP IN HIS CALENDAR.
But, I can deal with that.  As long as I invite his me.com address, it works as it should (except for me not getting the accept notification on my phone.)
    Now, flip the tables.
    He invites me:
He sends it to my me.com address- nothing happens.  I do not get an alert in ical (on my phone OR my mac), and I do not get an email.
He sends it to my main (non apple) email- still nothing happens.  Not via ical or email.
BUT- if he sends it to my WORK email (which is not in any way associated with any apple ID), i DO get an email.  But, as above, if I accept it- he can see that I accepted, but, it does not appear in my calendar.
I've read some threads here implicating the email addresses associated with apple IDs.  I went through all 4 of our apple IDs and made sure that all possible email addresses were "verified", so I'm not sure that's it. In fact the only email that worked at all for me was the one NOT associated.  But that's crazy- that it will only work if an email is NOT linked to an apple ID? What?
I don't know why it works for him (sort of), but not for me!  If anything I'd understand if the iphone 4 could accept invites but the 3GS couldn't, but it's the other way around!
I tried it about a million different ways this morning, and one thing I noticed:
when I invite his yahoo (and thus send an email) the from address was always crazy- NOT the default address in my email.  Like an old obscure me.com alias that I don't use and have not registered anywhere.  So, I would add that email to my apple ID.  Eventually got all weird aliases linked to an apple ID.  then it sent from my 'normal' mac.com address.
When he invites me (to my work address), the email says it's from his me.com, which is an account he doesn't even know he has, and doesn't use.  he only created it because he HAD to.
Why on earth is this so difficult and confusing?
We're not using google calendars or any third party stuff.  It's iphone to iphone. me.com to me.com.
    Can anyone please help??

    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17319571#17319571
instead of verifying email addresses associated with your appleID, try removing them.
I've read some of similar thread just now, and remove the associated email withing my apple ID
now, my friend can send invites to me ([email protected]) and i can reply within the ical and the event is created in the ical.
however, when she tried to send invites to my 2nd appleID (yahoo.com) i don't get anything.
I know this sounds very stupid. but at least i've got a temporary solutions.
hope this also works for you.
perhaps apple just us to use every service they've offer. there's too many ridiculous way to work in iCloud.
sometime i regret migrate to icloud. MobileMe was MUCH MUCH better in sync-ing

  • Ical invitation not syncing to iphone, ipad,

Ical invitations sent to me and received on my Macbook Pro (10.6.x) are limited to my Mail To Do calendar On My Mac. I can't change the calendar in the Event, consequently, it does not appear on my Iphone. I sync through my mobile me.
Seems like I changed the calendars with 102, and but this seemed to recreated the On My Mac calendar.
    Help!

So, here is what I ended up doing: I simply recreated the events that were tagged with the calendar, then deleted the calendar. I am not sure how it got there or why it became the default calendar for events coming from Mail, but now that it is gone, new events are going to my MobileMe calendars, and syncing, as expected.

  • ICal will not open

I have never had any problems with my iCal until recently, the program will not open. When I click on the icon in my dock, it will bounce at least once, but then stop without ever opening the program. Is there any way I can re-install the program or something like that to encourage it? Have restarted my computer several times. I have my calendar on my iPhone and it works just fine, but I would like to work on it on my computer as well!

    ProfCedar,
Try removing the com.apple.iCal.plist file from your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. To find that Library folder, use Finder>Go Menu>Depress the "Option" key>Library. Drag the .plist file to your desktop, and log out/in or restart.
Next, make sure that you are not connected to the internet. Then go to your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars Folder and remove any files with "Cache" as a part of the file name. Use the same method as listed above to get to the correct Library Folder. Log out/in, or restart and check iCal for functionality.

  • Ical invitations not showing up in ical

ical invitations are not shwoing up in ical on mac or on ipad.

I don't seem to be getting iCal push notifications on my iOS devices and my Macs.  I have current versions of Lion (10.7.3) and iCal (5.0.2) and am using iCloud (@me.com) and the people that are sending me invites are using a variety of email accounts for their own iCloud accounts.  The point is that the invitations show up in the Calendar (outlined and background color of grey with the option to Accept or Decline) but they aren't pupulating in my "inbox" next to the "Calendar" button in the upper righthand corner.  Nor are they indicated on my iOS devices.  Both updated with the latest version of iOS 5.X.X. Anyone help?!

  • App Store, Ical, Preview Not Opening after Mavericks Upgrade

    Hi,
I've upgraded to Mavericks and since the update i've not been able to open App Store, Ical, Preview apps. The apps will not launch from either the dock bar or applications folder.
The apps bounce once when selected then do nothing more.
Anyone else having these issues or know of a work around?
    Thanks

Maps, Facetime, Contacts, will also not open. Nightmare

  • Ical invites not being sent from MacBook Pro but are being sent from iphone

Hoping someone can please help me! I am suddenly unable to send iCal invites from my laptop. They look like they send, but nobody receives them and also the events don't show on my iPhone and iPad2. If I add the event on my iPhone, I do see it on my laptop. I recently did a system update and I wonder if that is the cause. Any help you can give me would be so appreciated. Thanks.

I am having this problem as well.  Specifically, when I create a new calendar meeting I am able to add users to the invitation and when I save the invite it gets sent.  I have also modified an existing calendar event that has other people invited, and when I exit editing the meeting a pop up window specifically asks if I want to save my changes "and send it to the other invited participants" or something like that.
    I click yes.
In both cases (the original creation and invitation, and the modification and send update to attendees) nothing is received by the other recipients.  Not a calendar event or invitation, not an email with a .ics attachment or similar, or not even an email notification.
Thus, I set up an event in my calendar, invite others, and no one is aware that the event was set up.
Is there any way around this?  I don't think I'm doing anything wrong as the process of creating an event, inviting someone, and sending out the invitation seems pretty straight forward.  It just isn't working.

  • ICal invitations not functioning properly

My invitations in iCal are not functioning properly; perhaps it's something I'm doing wrong.
I have ticked all of the relevant boxes in both iCal and Mail to ensure that the invitations are automatically added to iCal. Here's the problem: According to the Apple instructions, you're supposed to tick on the invitation in iCal, then tick on the mail icon in the lower left corner to view your choices in the Notification area. That's supposed to allow you to accept, decline or tentatively accept an invitation. On my iCal, I don't see any of these options in the notification area. The odd thing is that if I retrieve the inviations via email through Entourage, all of these options are presented within the email itself, which doesn't happen in either Mail or Thunderbird. I prefer Mail and am looking forward to ridding my mac of Microsoft software, so I don't want to have to keep it hanging around just for that one item.
Could someone please point me in the right direction? I can certainly follow instructions, if given.
My thanks to everyone for their assistance in this matter.
    Respectfully,

I'm having the same trouble! Help!

  • Accepted iCal Invite - Not updating iCal

I sent out an invitation to an event through iCal to my company. Employees accepted the invites on a variety of machines -- Blackberrys, Macs, PCs, etc. All invites came back to me in my emails, with mime attachments.
When I clicked on the mime attachments to update the accepted attendees, only some of the attendees switched from a question mark to a check mark in my iCal event. Then I noticed that while all accepted emails looked the same, the attachments were named differently:
"iCal-20091103-131437.ics" - from the Mac user (updated to check mark in iCal)
"mime-attachment.ics" - from PC users (updated to check mark in iCal)
"meeting.ics" - from Blackberry users (still question mark in iCal)
So my question is: why are there different accepted .ics files, and why don't they all update my iCal event attendee list? And is there something I can do to work around this?
    Thank you.

Kludgy fix to convert an Event to "Accepted" status if iCal doesn't do it automatically.
If the invitee's return email to Accept the event does not change to a √, you can manually fix using TextEdit:
    1) drag Event from iCal to your desktop. this will create a .ics file.
    2) delete the Event from iCal and choose "delete and dont not notify" option.
    3) open the .ics file on desktop with TextEdit.
    4) find text "PARTSTAT=NEED-ACTION" is next to the invitees email address within .ics file.
    5) change "NEED-ACTION" TO "ACCEPTED" (without "), save changes and quit TextEdit.
    6) drag the changed .ics file from desktop back to the day in iCal and let iCal update itself.
    7) if you do Get Info on the Event you will now see a √.
I think this automatic update bug has something to do with .ics files have the same id number. At one point when I was dragging the ics file to iCal from Mail, iCal updated the Event with a completely different time and without any Description but the √ correctly appeared. I think my collegues' email app changed some of the internal formatting of the ics file base on what I saw when I opened his attached .ics file.
I hope Apple can fix this.
    Good luck.
    Frank

  • ICal will not open in 10.5.3

Just upgraded to 10.5.3 and tried to Open iCal and got this error message:
"Calendar Cache" could not be moved because you do not have appropriate access privileges for "Calendars".
To view or change access privileges, select the item in Finder and Choose > Get Info.?????
    My questions are:
    1. Why is this happening (never happened for other leopard upgrades)
    2. Where is my Calendar Cache, could not find anywhere with searches.
    3. Where is Calendars, also could not find anywhere.
thx for any help anyone can provide & hope this issue does not occur for other Apple software (AB, iTunes, mail etc.)

Latest update 5 July. I just downloaded 10.5.4 and at least ical opens! The icon is still grayed out (not sure if that is a sign and symptom of some other problem) Not sure how well the program will work with Entourage and the rest of the applications after reading other posts about 10.5.4 Thanks for all the posts and I followed them to a T with no success until I downloaded 10.5.4
NOTE TO APPLE: I bought this machine to avoid the Window problems! It's nice to see you guys are following the leader! This Leopard OS is a mess! I regret nearly every day I made the switch! The IBM compatible laptop I bought after buying this machine (that's right no multiple mistakes) works flawlessly with Vista.
