ICal invites are 1 hour off

I live in Phoenix, AZ and we do not observe daylight savings here. Everything was working before we went off of daylight savings. Now, whenever I schedule an event through iCloud or on my iPhone, and then send an invite, the person who receives the invite see's it in their calendar 1 hour earlier than the appointment actually is. Example: I will schedule an appointment for 3pm AZ MST and will invite myself to that meeting. Then I will open outlook on my work computer and see the email which will say 3pm. When I open the attachment however, it shows it as 2pm. If I adjust that time, then it sends me a reschedule for 4pm on my iPhone.
I have checked the time zone settings in iCloud and it has me down as Mountain Time and when click on it, it says Phoenix. I have checked Outlook preferences and it also has me down for (GMT-0700) Arizona. How can I fix this?

I am experiencing the same issue...also in AZ.  Did you ever find a solution?

  • Ical events 3 hours off using isync w/ Palm Tungsten T3

Hello there, I've recently started having trouble syncing my mac with my Tungsten T3. All of my ical scheduled events - present, future and even past - have jumped ahead by three hours.
The problem began after I installed Leopard 10.5. I've since reverted back to Tiger 10.4 because of several compatibility problems. But, now all of my events are 3 hours off and some of my tasks aren't syncing to my handheld and vice versa. I've install and updated the daylight savings time update from palm.com and reset my Tungsten T3 several times but I'm still have the same problem after a sync.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Janeen

After looking more closely at the .ics files exported by Oracle Calendar I see that events are exported as if they were GMT; iCal is, indeed, showing the appointments at the correct local time. This makes my first two questions irrelevant.
However, question #3 still remains: why or how does the original GMT stamp persist after manually setting an event's time zone to local time, "America/Denver"?

  • Iphone sync with ical is 1 hour off?

What did i do wrong? both systems show the roper date and time but my appointments are all 1 hour off in ical?

    bruce1964,
Are your Mac, go to the Date & Time preferences. Is it set to set date and time automatically, and pulling time information from Apple Americas/U.S. Time?
    Is the Time Zone correct?
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • ICal invites are not received by some people (I know why, but Apple won't fix it)

I switched to icloud a while back and have the maddening problem of SOME people not receiving invites, and have discovered what causes it (at least in my case):
If the user you are sending to has an itunes (or apple id) account with that email as the login (and that email is NOT an icloud email) they will never receive the iCal invite! Instead it gets routed to their (non setup) icloud account. If they start using icloud for their calendars with this same external email address as login, they will receive them there (directly on their calendar if it is setup). Apple refuses to forward it to their real email address, the one we are sending it to. I have reported it to Apple several times but they are not inclined to fix it, probably because they want to force external users to use icloud. This is mega frustrating. Many of my friends do not receive invites, forcing me to use Google calendar for events with those friends. I prefer the general interface and look of icloud/ical invites, but I need to be able to actually invite people!

Not for me, but let me verify the following type scenario with you:
    1. Your person to invite has a gmail address ([email protected])
    2. That gmail address is their Apple ID/iTunes login name (this is the most important piece)
    3. They may have some icloud service on (like note syncing) but do not use icloud calendaring or mail (or may have signed up for mail but never check it)
    4. Your icloud/ical invite arrives properly in their gmail inbox (at [email protected])?
Is all the above true? For me, the above scenario results in no email being received at the address I sent it to (number 4), it gets routed/lost in icloud if that is their Apple ID login.
Like I said, I do not have the issue you have, all my invites are received regardless of the email provider and user ID's I just send to the correct address and that's it. Frankly if what you said was common the service would be useless, but it works for millions. The problem is at your end, not everybody's.
The login name is just a text string to iCloud, not an address.

  • ICal sync one hour off

    Hi
My MacBook Pro iCal events are all displaying as one hour earlier on my iphone. For example, something scheduled for noon on my MacBook Pro iCal appears to be scheduled for 11am on my iphone. I am syncing via MobileMe. Any suggestions?

  • ICloud iCal invitations are sent out in German

My iCloud calendar invitations are sent out in German even though my icloud.com account settings say the account is managed in English. What can I do?
where is the email generated? within mail? within ical? I'm running an English version of Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion. Mail is in English.
Could this be because the account was originally a mac.com then a mobileme and now an iCloud account. Some sort of legacy information on the account that there just isn't an option to change anymore?!
Grasping at straws here. Beyond annoying!

Found the answer - sorry guys!

Re: how to change language for ical server invitations?
Jan 23, 2012 9:43 AM (in response to philippergo)
I think I have the solution to this issue.
    What Happened to me:
When I send invitations to my friends, they received the invitations in Japanese (I was in Japan for 2 years, that's when I created the MobileMe account, perhaps it is related).
I changed the language of iCloud (in User Name -> Preferences, after signing in intohttp://www.icloud.com). The language was already "English".
    But the problem persisted:
    My Solution:
Go to: https://appleid.apple.com, (Manage Your Account, once signed in, go to "Language & Preferences")
There, you can type in the language for your inviations (English). Check the primary and the alternate mail addresses just in case. Sometimes, if the primary mail address is not iCloud or me.com, the invitations are not sent propperly.
After that, you can save your settings. The invitations are sent in English.
    Problem solved on my side.

  • ICal invitations are sent with work email calendar and respond to personal

Ical is set up to receive my work calendar called [email protected] Work email is a google webmail account. Office workers send invited to me from google calendar. I can accept these and they DO show on my .mac Ical.
On Ical, i have a list of standard calendar topics (home, work, school, etc). I have the shared google calendar set up as a second calendar on the ICal application. No problem.
My VCard has all work information. No personal at all. Work email, etc.
My email mailboxes for both inbound and sent Are in rank order meaning "work" email is draqgged over ".mac personal" on both scenarios.
Problem is This: When I create invites for "work calendar" , a new event pops up, "work email" shows as the Calendar and everything looks good and it does go to the invitee.
    1. Invitee receives the invitation and the invite states that it is from the ".mac PERSONAL" calendar
    2. My name shows as the organizer however has my personal email as the default (Not my work email as listed in my VCard)
    3. Most annoying of all, my "[email protected]" email address(If clicked on by the invitee) states my Wifes name on the email address bar.
I have checked everywhere as to why my wife is showing up as the "owner" or my personal .mac account. Not anywhere on my .me account, .mac account, VCard, etc.
    Help?
I want to send my invites from my work email account using Ical with the responses showing, and responding to the same work email address. Simple right?

I have to admit... Im getting frustrated.
I deleted the shared google calendar. Starting over. I created a work calendar called "MSL" under the "calendars" drop down in ical.
Created a test event, sent it to a personal account, clicked the link to accept and the link sends me to Entourage? See Below... Says iCal... Link goes to Entourage.
MSL Packaging and Fulfillment' has invited you to the iCal event: New Event Test, scheduled for December 16, 2009 at 4:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time). To accept or decline this invitation, click the link below.
    I want to:
1.Sync google calendar with my [email protected] webmail account and my ICAL.
    2. Send invites from my ICAL when using my work address in imail, have them send from my work address, respond to my work address, and show up on google and ical calendars.

  • Palm Desktop to iPhone/IPT--beware!!  DST, hour off!

I happily and easily transferred several years of Palm calendar entries to my iPod Touch 2g back in December. I've now discovered that, since the switch to daylight savings time, they are all off by one hour!
So, appointments for 1:40 are now 2:40, etc.
Fortunately, I received a call from a dentist's office to confirm an appointment-- and lo behold, my Clie/Palm had the time right, but the time was now an hour later in my IPT! Not good!
Not sure what the fix is here... but it's definitely something for everyone to watch out for.
Now, I'm going to have to double-check, scan all the calendar entries in iCal and see what needs to be changed.
I thought others might appreciate being alerted to this problem/issue!

Sadly, I don't think this will help. There seem to be issues with the way iCal interprets imported .ics file data and hands it off to the iPhone during an iTunes sync. So, appointments derived from another calendaring program (e.g. Outlook), exported from there and imported into iCal, show correctly in iCal but one hour off on the iPhone. This applies to appointments that were created prior to the DST time change; appointments created/exported/imported/synced after the time change are correct.
Further, it's specific to the iPhone sync since the appointments do display correctly in iCal. Naturally, I have correct settings for time zones, time zone support, etc. Further, this issue does not apply to appointments created directly in iCal.
There are also issues with the way iCal handles some imported data. I started a thread on this in the iCal forums some time back, but got no responses.

  • Ical invitations not showing up in ical

ical invitations are not shwoing up in ical on mac or on ipad.

I don't seem to be getting iCal push notifications on my iOS devices and my Macs.  I have current versions of Lion (10.7.3) and iCal (5.0.2) and am using iCloud (@me.com) and the people that are sending me invites are using a variety of email accounts for their own iCloud accounts.  The point is that the invitations show up in the Calendar (outlined and background color of grey with the option to Accept or Decline) but they aren't pupulating in my "inbox" next to the "Calendar" button in the upper righthand corner.  Nor are they indicated on my iOS devices.  Both updated with the latest version of iOS 5.X.X. Anyone help?!

  • Non-Mac users being able to accept iCal invitations

I have sent numerous meeting invitations using iCal to non-Mac users. When they receive the e-mail, they are unable to save the invitation to their calendar or accept the meeting request. How can I fix this?

Unfortunately, .ics files, which is how iCal invites are sent +as attachments+, are not recognized by the Mail app on the iPhone. Only Apple can alter that.
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.
Note that the New Invitation Alerts setting on the iPhone applies to calendar invites sent via MobileMe or MS Exchange (those are true calendar invites, not email attachments).

  • Ical appts. w/alerts are one hour off on iphone - how to fix?

when I create an appointment in ical, it syncs fine with iphone, but the alert (and the appointment) are set for one hour later than what they are set for in ical. The timezone on both is accurate...Any ideas?

    Thx Bernard,
    You are very helpful
When you went through the steps, were any of the settings different to those that I suggested?
......Yes, Time zone was uncheck in iCal and MM
I don't think you mentioned importing previously. Where are the events originally created?
.....I have a large spreadsheet of college athletic games that we keep in Excel and I import to iCal, they are ALWAYS one hour off after imported to iCal. Long before iPhone and MM too!
I don't see that MobileMe is especially different to dotmac - except that you now have explicit control over the time zone of the calendar (whereas it used to be set to the one from which you originally published).
...Honestly the TZ Support is a HUGE pain and causes Much more trouble for all than anything it is suppose to help with..., been that way ever since iCal came out...
One hour time differences often crop-up on a phone and are usually to do with daylight savings issues, but you don't mention a phone in your set-up so I am assuming this is not the case.
...again this one hour problem, has been an issue for me long before the iPhone and MM...
I have to say that I don't have issues with my calendars and I have these synced across different systems and devices, so for me it really is a non-issue. (I should also say that I travel frequently and don't have problems with events in multiple time zones either.)
...glad it works for you, but it appears this is an issue for many. I used Now Up-To-Date for 10+ years and NEVER had trouble with import/export/sync...
One thing I neglected to ask you is whether you do need to have time zone support - i.e. do you travel with any of the macs to which you sync or do you get invitations that originate in different time zones?
...I have no need for TZ Support even if I were and astronaut
It would also be enormously helpful if you would provide data on what version of OS X and iCal you are using.
    ....I am on 10.5.5 and iCal 3.0.5
    Thx Much

  • Entourage- iCal events are 5 hours off

My computer time is set to US/Central, Entourage events are US/Central, and iCal is set to US/Central. When I turn on Sync Services in Entourage, events that hit iCal are 5 hours off.
I believe Sync Services is assuming the times on the events in Entourage are all GMT, even though they show up in iCal as US/Central.
Is there a way to resolve this? I've tried it on 3 different machines, and it's broken on all of them.

FIXED. Special thanks to Tarun Reddy for noticing that the problem
only appears when using a case-sensitive filesystem. I used fs_usage
to log all file accesses and wrote a bunch of scripts to get me a list
of possible files. I had a list of 536 candidate files after the
scripting and went through all of them by hand until I found it.

  • IPhone calendar sync two hours off from iCal - Can I fix?

I purchased an iPhone 3G today, this is my second one. Since my last phone, I now have a new MacBook Pro with iCal.
When I performed the Sync today, everything was fine except for the times in Calendar, which were two hours later on iPhone. The time zones were the problem, as the iPhone was set to Cupertino (Pacific) and the computer was set to Memphis (correct zone).
Now, I have corrected the time zones on both and I have performed a new Sync and checked the box to replace information from the calendars on the iPhone with the information from iCal.
However, the times are still off.
    1. Can I fix this issue?
    2. Can I delete the iPhone calendar entries as a whole and start over and re-Sync?
Thanks for the help. It's a minor issue, but it's pretty annoying and I have tried everything I know to fix it.

How bizarre. Mine is doing this too, except it's 3 hours off. I showed up to work 3 hours early because of this. Time zones are the same on my computer and my phone. I'm not sure what the deal is.
