  • ICal issue sync Google Calander

    Hello,
I use iCal as my main calander. I read/write events on iCal.
On Google Calander I also have events that delegate to iCal so I edit these events with iCal.
When I added my google-account everything seem to work, but suddenly I get double views.
I don't have any dublicates in Google Calander, nor on any of my iOS devices. They sometimes disappear when I refresh iCal, but that doesn't work all the time.
*Note: MVB Agenda = google Calander
    Delegeren = Delegating
Does anyone have the same problems? Solutions are welcome.

I am having the same problem. I use iCal as my main calendar on my Mac but sync to my iPhone and iPad. Some of the calendars are iCloud calendars and behaving just fine.
However, the Google ones are not and show duplicate entries.
On the iPad and iPhone, there are no duplicates. If I log into Google and look at the calendar there, there are no duplicates. Occasionally, things correct themselves on the iCal on the Mac and no duplicates but then, randomly, they come back again.
A solution would be very welcome. It's driving me crazy.

  • IPad and Google

My family just bought a refurbished 3rd generation iPad. (2012) It has 64 gigabytes of SSD.
None of us have any experience with iOS devices. None of us have ever used the App Store.
I have a gmail account, but limited experience with Google beyond that. My parents have a Tracfone (pay-as-you-go by minutes) Android smartphone. They never activated any of the Google features on it. They do not have a gmail account. They are novice users of a MacBook Pro Retina 13-inch laptop running MacOS 10.9 at the moment. I do not think they ever activated an AppleID.
I was wondering what is available and do-able involving gmail and other Google services on the iPad. Since Android is not well supported on the Mac, I was wondering how to use Google services to share data across the MacBook, the Tracfone, and the iPad. Specifically, I was wondering if/how Apple's Contacts address book, Notes, Safari bookmarks and iCal/Calendar could be shared across all of these devices. Is there a practical way to use gmail, Google Calendar and GoogleVoice to do this?
What about text messaging on the Tracfone? Can this be ported to gmail so it could be accessed from all of these devices?

You can add your Gmail account to your iPad under Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar. If you also add that account to your Mac, you can share contacts. You can use the Gmail address as the login when you create your Apple ID.
    https://appleid.apple.com/account
If the Android phone that your parents have has the same Gmail address as the iPad and the MacBook, they can all share contacts. I've been doing that for years with my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air and Android phone and Android tablet. You can add the Gmail account onto the Android device through Settings>Accounts (labels may vary by hardware manufacturer)>Add New Account.
You can use Google Hangouts for texting on the Android and the iPhone. Don't recall if it's available for iPads.
I also strongly recommend you review the information on the Support page:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/
There is a link to the manual there. It's surprisingly well written and designed for the non-techie. It's worth a read.
    Best of luck.

  • Calendar Syncing - iPhoen, iPad - and Google.

I really am not sure what I have done - but at the moment an entry on my iPhone or iPad calendar  is reflected on the other - fine.
However, I am also trying the Google calendar. If I make an entry on that - it is reflected on the iPad - but not the iPhone. I thougtt I had set up both the same way (they will each pick up my Gmail messages) - but if I go to "Show Calendars" in the calendar app - of course the Gmail one does show up on the iPhone.. How do I get it to do so please?
I am confused in that I would have thought that once the entry was on the iPad (from Google) it would then sync with the phone anyway as it does if I actually make the entry on the iPad itself.
And finally - there is clearly no communication back to Google from either as entries made on iPhone or iPad fail to show on Google.

Hmm! I have tried to do that - but it does not appear to have worked - and I certainly did not do that when I st up the iPad.
**** - this system is as friendly as a cornered rat.   I am cso mconfused - I don't know whether this is all being done through iCloud, iTunes, just over wi-fi - or black magic!
I am also getting the warning messages about my Exchange password being incorrect - what Exchange password? !

  • IPad and Google Sketchup

Hi (I know this is the iPhone section, but there's no iPad forum)
I would be sold on the iPad if it could run Google Sketchup. It would be a perfect client presentation device/viewer. Does anyone know whether it will be able to run Google Sketchup?
    Much appreciated,
    Dave

As of today, the iPad will not run Google Sketchup since it is only available for Windows and Mac OS X. Whether Google will develop a version that can run on an iPad only Google will know.
    Regards.

Go into the control panel. Add/remove programs. Uninstall iTunes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. Then redownload and reinstall iTunes. See if that fixes it. If not there are more indepth things you can do.

  • Ical server and google calendar

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has found a way to have a google calendar run the same way in ical as ical server so that all everyone can view the google calendar through ical server.
We currently have our calendar on google calendar and would love to migrate it across to our server.

  • Ipad and google maps...

I love classic google maps on my iMac, however there seems to be no option on my iPad/iPhone for the "classic" version.
Does anyone know if this is available on the iPad/iPhone?

How do you choose classic view ? The new request desktop feature should show it but I can't find classic view. Go to google maps, once there tap the URL field, pull Favorites down and tap request desktop site (first screenshot). That will give you the second screenshot.
    No classc view.

  • Is there a way to sync my google calander with my iPhone/iTouch? or atleast with iCal?

Is there a way to sync my google calander with my iPhone/iTouch with itunes as you can sync contacts? or atleast how can i sync my google calander with iCal?

That's not how it should work.
As paulsalter noted, you should add Google calendar to your iCal on the Mac and Calendar app on iPad.
If you sync the iPad calendar with iTunes, it would only get updated when you sync it.
If you sync it with Google calendar, the iPad and the Mac will both get updated when you update one.
To add Google calendar to yrou Mac, see this  -> Get Started with CalDAV - Sync with iCal
Then add the Google calendar to your iPad.
See this -> CalDAV: CalDAV Calendar Sync

  • ICal syncs Google calendar with iPad and iPhone but not MacBook Air

    Hi there,
Sorry to post another thread about syncing issues, but the solutions posted in the ones I looked at didn't quite solve my problem, so I'm wondering if I'm having an issue that's specific to the way I've set things up with my devices?
I created a Google account for the sole purpose of having a Google calendar that I could share with my Dad. We both access this Google calendar through iCal.
My Dad generally checks or posts updates using iCal on his iPad and iPhone. Meanwhile, I'm using iCal on my MacBook Air, which FWIW is also running Snow Leopard. (I don't have an iPad or iPhone - this is my only means of accessing the calendar.)
Any change he makes on the calendar will show up on both of his devices, but not mine. Any change I make will not show up on his devices.
I logged into the Google account in a web browser (Chrome, FWIW) and checked the calendar through the same browser - all of his changes aren't showing up on it, but mine are.
I had my Dad reload the same Google calendar in his devices (i.e. delete the account and add it back again) and confirmed he's using the right Google address and password. This doesn't do anything to solve the problem.
What else am I missing? It's a little frustrating trying to fix this because my Dad's in another state so I don't see him that often, and even though I taught him how to use an iPad and an iPhone, he's still not the most computer literate person, so talking him through this is a little tricky.

On the MBPro and the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud
Switch Calendars off then back on.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

    Hello binbingogoABC,
Shopping on BestBuy.com should be easy and fun and not fraught with the kind of trouble that you describe. I regret very much that this has been your experience.
Using the information you provided when you signed up for Best Buy Unboxed I was able to locate your cancelled orders. I have requested more information from my back-office partners. As soon as I have additional details about your situation, I will reply again to this message. In the interim, I'm sorry that I must impose upon your patience.
I'm very grateful that you wrote to us with your concerns.

  • Events created on iPad and/or iPhone won't show up in iCal

Events created on iPad and/or iPhone won't show up in iCal. I do not use Mobile Me, or Google (I learned that one the hard way). I am getting tired of creating events (and contacts) and then having to remember to go back on my Macbook and create them all over again. Any ideas?

    Did you try these?...

Did you plug directly into the computer and not a hub?  Try different USB ports.

  • IPad Calendar and Google Calendar?

I have a couple of Google Calendars that I use, both syncing with my MBP, the iPhone (the web) and now the iPad.
Setup was easy as, the calendars are syncing and showing up as expected with a big BUT.
If I add an entry on the iPad or the iPhone or the web it shows up across all devices and can be deleted from all devices, but I also have an auto rule on my work account to auto delegate all meetings to my Google calendar. These auto delegated meetings show up as un accepted (unless I manually accept them) and work fine on all my other devices, yet on the iPad I can't delete them (there is no option) but I can on the iPhone...
Has anyone seen this sort of behaviour? Is there something I am doing wrong?

and now to add a bit more to it, I have broken it even more.
I watched the father in law set up his new iPad on Windows over the weekend and noticed that he simply ticked the "sync mail" box, selected his accounts and all details (except the passwords) were transferred to the iPad automatically. I figured the same would happen for calendars on my Mac, so playing in iTunes (OS 10.6.3) I notice the tick box for "sync calendars" and decide to turn that on to sync an extra calendar I'm subscribed to in iCal. I left on sync all calendars (including those that were already setup on the iPad) and everything seemed to work....
until I go into Calendar on the iPad, the two original accounts are now doubled up, no problems I think, I'll just remove them from when I have manually added them. So I remove them, but none of the entries go away... After much clicking and restarting and adding and removing it seems that there is no way to delete a calendar from the iPad ON the iPad itself. It also seems if you just untick "sync calendars" in iTunes it just stops syncing, but doesn't delete the calendar... yet it doesn't show up in the settings as a calender, nor can I add new events to it. There is also no way to delete all calendars since if I manually untick all calendars and try to sync from iTunes it decides I must really mean "sync all" so switches to that and re-syncs everything...
I'm about 1 step away from simply restoring the whole **** thing and starting again

  • My calander and contacts are syncing on ipad and iphone but not my photos.

my calander and contacts are syncing on ipad and iphone but not my photos.

Make sure you are entering the contacts and calendar events on your iCloud account.  On your iPad, check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar.  Here make sure you have selected an iCloud calendar as your default, and not something else like On My iPad, Google Calendar, and exchange account calendar, etc.
Then go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the contacts section) and make sure you have selected iCloud as your default.  (If you don't see this settings, this isn't the problem).
If your settings for your calendar is correct on your iPad and it still won't sync new calendar events to your phone, go to icloud.com from your computer and enter any missing calendar events on your iPad that are not on your calendar on icloud.com.  Once your iCloud calendar is up to date, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Calendars to Off, choose Delete from My iPad when prompted, then after a minute or so turn Calendars back to On to sync your iCloud calendars back to your phone.  Then enter a new event on your iPad and confirm that it syncs to icloud.com now.
If your settings for your contacts are correct on your iPad and it still won't sync new contacts to your phone, do the same thing for Contacts (add any missing contacts to icloud.com, turn iCloud syncing off, choose Delete from My iPhone, after a minute turn contact syncing back on, try adding a new contacts to confirm that it syncs).
