ICal iPhone sync no longer works - applemobilesync quit unexpectedly

I can no longer synch iCal with my iPhone. I get the message: The application AppleMobileSync quit unexpectedly.
I have already reset my iPhone. Addresses have synced as have applications but it crashes on Calendar sync. The machine also slows to a crawl while it is trying to do the calendar sync. When unselecting the "Synch iCal Calendars" box, I can synch everything else, so the problem is linked to calendars only.
Would appreciate it if someone can help me figure out where the problem is. Detail on configuration and report below.
Thanks,
Charles

I have checked and added that the problem seems to be limited to synching iCal with my iPhone.
Mac Book Pro Mac OS X (10.5.8)

I guess I have reached the end of the line.
Full reinstall and hard-disk reformat coming up soon for a problem that might be easy to solve????
If it fixes will post that this fixed the problem. A rather radical solution. (I am having e-mail problems, gets solved by reindexing but have had to reindex e-mail files after a few days of the first time - so reinstall linked to more than just this).

  • IPhone sync no longer works properly

Hi Not sure what's gone wrong but syncing my iCal with my iPhone 3GS has always worked fine until the last week or so. Now any events I enter on my phone do not show in iCal on my Mac. Plus I am getting more than one copy of an event on my phone - in different calendar colours? I've even tried replacing iphone data with my Mac's data but this does not appear to make any difference?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions,
Does the information added to the Mac show up on the Phone? If so this is probably an issue with the phone's calendar database and I would suggest posting in the iPhone forum: http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=201
Issues with iPhones can often be resolved by updating or restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    Hope that helps.

  • Synching calendars between itunes and iphone 5 no longer works.

Syncing calendars between itunes and iphone 5 no longer works.  I do not get any errors, however calendar items are not updated.
I am syncing via USB on a Windows 8 computer.  It worked a couple of weeks ago.  Since then itunes has had its weekly update, my IOS may have been updated, and I've run a malware removal program on my computer. I curently have iTunes 11.1.3.8  and iOS 7.0.4.  I read the posts and verified ICloud was turned off.
I really need to be able to sync my computer and iphone again.  Any suggestions?

So you'll either need to attempt further repair yourself or take the iPhone to some unauthorized repair shop, pay them, and hope they fix it correctly.
The iPhone 5 has no Touch ID, and an iPhone 5S should still be under warranty, so I'm puzzled as to what you really have and were attempting. If you do have a 5S, why you didn't get it serviced under warranty?
    Regards.

  • ICal/iPhone sync keeps losing events

Several times recently I have entered a new event in iCal on my iPhone. Then at some point in the future, I go to look for the event, either on my phone or via iCal on my MacBook, and the event has disappeared. A couple of times I found that my calendar sync settings in iTunes had switched themselves off. Today, however, "Sync iCal Calendars" is still checked, with the "All Calendars" radio button enabled.
I have lost two doctor's appointments and a friend's birthday this way.

I have been having this problem since I got the iPhone two Years ago. It will work fine for a while, but occasionally get rid of events. I know of 3 in the last couple weeks that have been saved and are fine but then they mysteriously disappear.
The last time I talked to Apple Support, they told me that I am the only person that they have had report this issue and the only person that seemed to have multiple calendars (I have 23, and need them). It is funny how the forum talk about iCal/iPhone syncing issues but apple doesn't seem to know about it.
They had me back up all my events on the computer and restore them. Then re-sync the iPhone. That seemed to work most of the times, but it seems to be a problem again for some reason....I just lost a couple more appointments^%&*^%
I hope they find time to actually fix the problem. As we become more dependent on these calendars, losing appointment information becomes more and more frustrating. Enough to change phones...

My iphone is no longer working I have black screen with a picture of the itunes logo and a USB cable.  When I try to connect my iphone to itunes the device is not detected, can anyone help me? I desperatley need my phone back

I have had a 3GS for 2+ years.  After upgrading to IOS 4 (now 4.3.5) I began having problems.  In the past week, my screen went to the itunes logo and USB cable twice -- unprovoked -- just found it sitting there like that!  I connected to itunes and it did restore from a backup but it is a major inconvenience.  I am also searching for answers, but better back-up regularly!

  • IPhone 3GS no longer works with bluetooth since ios 4.3.2 update

Hi all. Since the ios 4.3.2 update my iPhone 3GS no longer works correctly with the bluetooth in my car (2006 Acura TL).  I know it's not an issue with the car and the only thing that has changed is the update with the phone.  Anybody else having this issue?  I have unpaired, tried to re-pair, reset the network settings, reset all of the settings, and did a restore.  I'm at a loss with what to do next.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

Its becoming a problem of epic proportions...so many people are having the exact same problem...I have a Feb 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Series 200 and since upgrading to OS 4 my USB function no longer works like it did before the upgrade.
My Apple has become a LEMON!!
Would be nice to hear that Apple recognises there is a problem...buut maybe they are too busy counting all their money to care!!

  • My 3GS iphone voicemail no longer works

My 3GS iPhone voicemail no longer works after installing OS 4.2. My ATT voicemail box still works ok. I've reset the password and network. Any ideas? ATT can't help as they think its a problem with the phone.

A call comes in, gets listed as a missed call and shows up as missed call. No indication nor a message saying that a voice mail has been left. When I dial my ATT voice mail box by holding down the 1 key, I have a message waiting. Used to be when voice mail arrived there would be an indicator lit on the voice mail icon on the phone and I could listen to the voice mail via the visual voice mail on the phone.

  • AppleMobileSync quit unexpectedly

Since upgrading to Leopard I am getting this error message whenever I try to sync my iPhone. It appears to relate to the Calendar, as that is what is syncing when this message window pops up:
    The application AppleMobileSync quit unexpectedly.
[followed by the usual text re Mac OS X and other apps not being affected]
Buttons: Ignore | Report... | Relaunch
I use iCal, Address Book - (i.e. not Outlook).
Further, it appears that some syncing takes place before that message comes up.
Any other folks experiencing this? Any suggestions welcome ...

I've been having the same problem since upgrading to Leopard. I tried all the solutions here, plus some suggested elsewhere (like removing all the "/" characters from events - I'm calling BS on that one). Nothing seemed to work.
    So I:
    cleared sync history
    cleared out iCal
    deleted entries with a "/" - BS
    restored the iPhone
tried turning off syncing with various calendar groups
tried the "advanced" option in iTunes info tab of replacing all the info on the iPhone
    etc.
I am running Entourage for calendar and email and contacts. I had the settings set right in Entourage to sync with other stuff (Entourage, prefs, check the first two boxes). I was seeing items created on the iPhone show up in the Entourage calendar, but editing them didn't make it back to the iPhone and items created in Entourage never made it to the iPhone.
I have a MacBook Pro and iPhone running 1.1.1. Never unlocked or f'd with in any way.
After spending time on the phone with AppleCare for the iPhone, one of the things I noticed was that there seemed to be very little data in my iPhone. I'd been looking at the calendar only. And since I hadn't done the complete restore of my phone, wiping out all data until tonight, it had looked normal. What I noticed was despite repeated syncs that gave the message "AppleMobileSync" quit unexpectedly, there still wasn't much data in the phone. I looked and there were two videos and no music at all. That made me think that it would be interesting to uncheck syncing of calendars and contacts, and only sync other stuff. I did this (took a long time) and it was successful right through to completion. It occurred to me that it was the first successful sync since the Leopard upgrade.
Then I rechecked the calendar options and synced again. Holy crap, it worked! I'm back in business. Together with the Applecare guy, we decided that the best things to do are these, probably in this order:
    1) uncheck the option in iTunes so that the iPhone doesn't automatically sync when you plug it into the mac
    2) on the Summary tab of iTunes, choose to Restore your iPhone - this will delete everything off it - you may not want to do this yet if you haven't backed it up in a long time
    3) restart your mac
    4) launch iSync and reset Sync history (iSync menu, Preferences, press button)
    5) in the Info tab in iTunes uncheck the sync address book and calendar options completely
    6) sync your iPhone - this will take a while because it has to reload all the songs and videos you have
    7) assuming that sync goes OK thru to completion, re-check the contacts and calendar sync buttons on the info tab and then click "apply" and/or "sync".
Hopefully it will work for you.
    Happy Halloween

  • ICal sync from iPhone 3G no longer works with both MacBooks?

    Hi Group:
I've got an iPhone 3G, a previous gen MBP and a white MB, all running the latest software updates. For the past several months I have been able to enter iCal events on my MBP, sync to the iPhone using iTunes, and then sync the iPhone to the MB. For some reason I can't guess, that no longer works, and iCal events are not being transferred from the iPhone to my MB iCal app. Did this happen with the iPhone 3.0 software update (the timing seems about right)? I called Apple Care last night and they said only a .Me account would return that functionality, but denied this had anything to do with the iPhone 3.0 update. In fact, the rep said it never should have worked in the first place.
FWIW, here's the error messasge iTunes generates:
"iTunes could not sync calendar events to the iPhone because an error occurred while sending data from the iPhone."
That's the exact wording, and it doesn't really make perfect sense, either. So, is there a workaround for this, or a third-party app, perhaps? Did Apple make this change just to sell more .Me accounts? Finally, is there maybe an automated way to sync the iCal events between the MBP and MB across my Time Capsule network? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

****, that was a brilliant solution. To be clear, what was happening is that I could no longer sync calendars from the iPhone to the MB, but never lost that ability on the MBP. I would not have guessed your solution, as I've never even opened the iSync app, and had no idea it was in any way involved. Thanks, and I wonder if there's some way Apple could add this solution to their database for the Apple Care reps?

  • Just started MobileMe.  Struggled with the setup of iCal but eventually got everything working fine for about a day.  Then I started receiving an iCal error message stating that the URL was wrong.  Of course, sync no longer works.  What is correct URL?

Just signed up for MobileMe.  Had a little difficulty setting up iCal but eventually got everything working.  Whether posting to iCal on my Mac Book or iPhone, sync seemed to be working fine for about a day.  Then suddenly when I opened iCal on my Mac Book, I would receive the following iCal error message:
"The calendar https://cal.me.com/calendar/calendar/principals/users/1.1117025442/ was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct."  I know where it is located but because I did not enter the URL when I set up MobileMe/iCal, I don't know what the correct URL should be.

  • Ford sync no longer works.

After updating my iphone 5 to ios 6.1, it no longer works with my Ford Sync in my car. The phone does not play audio anymore while connected via USB. Audio doesnt play from any apps nor from the ipod through the car stereo. Same if I connect it via the bluetooth audio stream option. The only thing that still works is calling using the phone and that streams through the speakers fine. The software on my car is fully updated also.

I forgot to add in that I already did that. I re-paired both profiles (usb and BT) to no avail. After doing that I also reset the Sync system and deleted all the data. This also did not work. It just says connecting now and doesnt go away.
I also tried the "sync my itunes" app from syncmyride.com. That also did not work

  • Iphone wifi no longer works with one type of router...

    Hello all,
I have been looking at other posts but have not found any resolution. My iphone 3g has always worked on my home wifi but stopped two weeks ago or so. It works fine on other peoples routers and my imac and powerbook pick up the wifi fine.
I found that other people using the wcg200 gateway modem/router with comcast are all of the sudden having the same issue.
Does anyone know of a fix? I hate to think we all have to go out and purchase a new piece of equipment when it was working fine for so long. Any help would be great.
    Thanks in advance

Thanks for the tips! I tried it all but none of it worked.
It seems to be everyone with a wcg200 can't get wifi to work. I have had the phone
for 6 months now and it worked great till about 2 weeks ago or so. Nothing seems to work. Again,
it works fine with other peoples wifi and my other computers work fine with it.
Maybe someone can make this a pet project. I read that comcast updated the ROM on this model without telling us. If that caused it, can anyone think of how to make it work again? I am lost and I hate to have to buy a new modem/router if there is a way to fix this issue.
    Thanks again

  • IPhone 3GS no longer works with Toyota Prius

I have an iPhone 3GS and a 2010 Toyota Prius (model V) that worked fine together until I upgraded to iOS 4. Now it will play music for about 15 seconds and then cut out... with an error message on the Prius dash that it cannot read the USB device.
Anyone encountered this or know any workarounds?
    Thanks.
