ICal is randomnly changing calendar colours.

I went to use my calendar today and noticed that things I normally mark green on my Work calendar are now purpley pink. As I use a similar colour already for another related Work calendar, this is very confusing. I can change the calendar to green, and it stays that way temporarily, but then changes back after a few seconds. This is happening across all my devices - iMac, iPhone 5 and iPad 2.
I'm suspecting an iCloud issue, and I notice that this issue also cropped up in August and was fixed.
Any suggestions/fixes/clues?

  • ISync'ing events to ical and then changing calendar

i put my work scedule into my phone (sony ericsson k750i), when entering the shift times i put them into the phones calendar with the title as "Starbucks" (ie, where i work). then when i go home i iSync them into iCal. however, then i have to click each one manually and move it from my "Home" calendar to my "Work" calendar - which is a bit of a *****.
is there a rule function or some way i can do this automatically

    Hi
Regarding the Sony Ericcson 750i....i see that you gotthe iCal synch working. I just upgraded from the 700 which was a breeze and no problem , HOWEVER the 750i has done everything EXCEPT iCal which I thought was strange. Is tehre something I am not doing? My events are in my iCal until April 2006 but they just dont import - numbers and addresses all easily ported over.
    Any help would be appreciated

  • Why my calender changes the colour?

    Hi!
I'm using iCal on my iPhone 5 and my iPad 3. Since today iCal started to change the colour of one of my eight calendars. Everytime I change the colour on my iPhone, my iPad or at iCloud, iCal undos it back. Why does this occur?
    Best regards
    Alex

My calendar is doing the same thing, except that it's doing it on my Macbook Pro.  Beginning Monday morning, the colors for my Work and Home calendars shared using iCloud, changed on their own and when I changed them back to green and yellow, respectively, iCloud changed them again.  This problem also caused Daylite 4.3 to crash, which then caused Marketcircle to have to put out a patch the same day (Monday).  Why did Apple find it necessary to do this?  Seems I can either share my calendar with my iPhone and iPad and accept the ugly colors Apple chose, or I can not share my calendars and choose my own colors.  Not really a solution.

  • Ical Version 5.0.1 (1547.4) change the colour of an exchange calendar

I have ical version Version 5.0.1 (1547.4) and want to change the colour of the exchange calendar (my work calendar). I have read online about selecting the cal and then click get info and change the colour ut this does not seem to work for an exchange calendar.
    Any advice would be great

problem still persists regardless of which user you sign in under.
    my Imac is
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74)
Safe mode did not make a differebnce as well.
I have read something about running an applescript but i dont really know how to do this and was hoping for an easier solution. Plus dont know the numbers for the different colours

  • Why does iCal keep changing to colour of one of my calendars?

For some reason, every time I open my iCal the colour of my "work" calendar is changed from Green to pink(one of the create your own colours). I keep changing it back to green and it keeps going back to pink. I am incredibly frustrated.
    Any suggestions?

    Okay,
Kind of got a fix for this or at least it seems to have worked for me. *Knock on Wood*. It will take some time and patience.
I right clicked on my "Work" calendar and exported it to the desktop. Then imported it as a new calendar under a different name "0 - Work". (It may import it as "Work 2")
Now you have your original "Work" calendar, in the annoying pink colour, and a new "0 - Work" calendar.
Change the colour of this new calendar to whatever you like. Delete the original "Work" calendar and then wait about 10 minutes. This seems to allow the iCloud and whatever else to finish its "Updating".
Then rename "0 - Work" to just "Work". Again wait about 10 minutes. It's best not to sit there and watch as the updating processes will sometimes change it back to pink or bring back the original "Work" calendar before finally settling on your new changes.
In the end, or at least for me, things are back to normal. I have left it open for about a half hour, turned it on and off and no pink has reemerged.
    Good luck!

  • Change the colour of events in iCal

I need to change the colour of events/appointments in the Mac iCal.  I have imported all of my Outlook calendar via google sync and all my appointments are now just one colour.  I have my medical appointments coloured in orange so they stand out each week (I have many) and all my personal events a different colour, and my volunteer work a different colour so that I can see at a glance in week view what I am up to. Looking at one week with every appointment in one drab colour is not nice.
I notice that different calendars are different colours, but I dont want separate calendars as I need to sync with google to share the calendar with Android phone and iPad.
Please can you let me know how to turn this feature on.  Many thanks.

Click calendars at the bottom of the page the click on the i symbol for info and then you can select the colour you'd like.

  • Calendar colours changing themselves

I've been using iCal on Macbook Air syncing the Calendar over iCloud to both iPad2 and iPhone5 for about a month.
I have two calendars - one was in Green and the other Orange (these were the default colours from when the devices were first used and I was happy with them so left the colours alone).
Two days ago the Green calendar started changing itself to Blue and the Orange one started changing itself to Purple.  If I change the colours back to my desired Green and Orange (and I've tried doing it on all three devices) then they just keep changing themselves (on all three devices) to the undesired Blue and Purple.
Both the MBA and iPhone5 are one month old, and software is up to date on all three.
I'm aware of another (old) thread concerning colours and subscribed calendars, but these are not subscribed calendars.

    lksjfl
    Me too.
I have iPhone5 (less then 3 months old) running 5 calenders (each with a different colour).
    All are iCloud enabled.
All are subscribed to by a MacPro (Lion) and an iPhone4.
1 calender is subscribed to by a iMac (early silver casing runing Lion).
In the past few days, calendar colours on the iPhone5 & then the others) keep self-changing.  If you change them back, they self-change again.
All softrware is up to date.
This definitely was not a problem until a few days ago.
Help !  Apple sort this out - it is driving us mad.

  • How can I change the colour of an iCal calender on the iPhone?

I have two iCal calendars on my iPhone that sync to google. It works fine with push but both of hem has the same colour. That makes it hard to see the diference.
How can I change the colour?
I am syncing to outlook so I don't have iCal on the statonary.

I looked into this before, and at the moment there is little you can do to customize the inputrender tag, short of subclassing it and adding the functionality you require

  • Shared iCloud calendar colour keeps changing

I haven't had this problem for a while, but this week my the calendar my wife shares with me in iCloud keeps changing colour.
I am running iOS 6.1.3 and we have had the shared calendars set up for ages. Now no matter what i do her calander displays as blue, even though it is yellow when i log into iCloud on the web.
When I change to colour to purple on either my iPad or iPhone the colour changes on the web iCloud calendar but displays as blue in iCal on my mac, and in iCal on both my iPad and iPhone.
I haven't added any other new calendars or accounts recently, so I have no idea why this is happening (again)
Anyone else having this problem and/or found a solution?

I started having this problem in late June. Both the names and colours for some of my shared calendars suddenly changed to the names and colours used by the calendar owners (instead of the names and colours that I have assigned to them). This had worked just fine ever since shared calendars became available until June, 2013. My Mom and my sister are having the same problem.
I reported the problem to Apple support on July 3, and they ran through some troubleshooting with me. The names and colours are correct on the calendar app in Mountain Lion as well as iCloud.com through Safari on my Mac. However, when the calendar syncs to any iOS device, the namea and colours on SOME of the shared calendars change. This even occurs when setting up a brand new iPad for the first time.
If I change the name and colour on either my iPhone or iPad, the change seems to sync back to iCloud, but, just a few seconds later, the calendar app on iOS begins syncing again and the names and colours change back.
I spoke to two levels of support at Apple who were not able to resolve the problem. The second rep said the problem needed to be forwarded to an Apple engineer for investigation. It's now been over a month, and there has still been no response from their engineers. I've contacted Apple twice for an update, and they said the engineers still have not replied.

  • How to change color of iCal event, without changing the calendar.

I have my work Exchange calendar imported to iCal.  When I want to change the color of an event in iCal, it actually changes the event to a differnet 'calendar' and therefore no longer shows up on my work calendar.  This wouldn't be a problem, excpet my secretary can no longer see the event on my work calendar that shows up on her PC.  So how can I change the color of 1 event, say to 'Important' or 'Must Attend', without changing the calendar?

    Welcome to the discussions, spet.
Right click (Control-click) the calendar you want to change in the left pane and select Get Info. There is a colour selection button to the right of the calendar name..

Unless you are really expert at Terminal commands, try a third party system enhancer. You can Google for an appropriate one for you.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • Calendar Colours

After months of frustration with the well known problem of the iPod Touch changing the colours of iCal calendars when syncing all is fixed! This seems to have followed from the latest iTunes update. All calendars are now perfectly colour synced with my desktop imac's iCal colours.
    Anyone else noticed this?

  • Calendar colours on iphone

    Hi Forums,
i have multiple calendars on my iphne syncd with google cal. this is brilliant but can i choose which calendar iswhich colour on my iphone? all the cals on google are the colour i want, but not on iphone.
    thanks

    Hi,
Try this.  Setup the Google Calendar on your comoputer's iCal, then try changing the color on your Mac to your desired color, see if that reflects to your iPhone.
If you need some support on setting up your Google Calendar on your Apple's iCal, here's a link on Google's page that will help you with the process:
