ICal List View

I used to be able to click on a Calendar and view it in list view but I cannot anymore. I make lots of different calendars and frequently need to delete them. I used to be able to use list view then I could see what appointment i had for the calendar and if they were all old or not necessary I could delete the calendar. Now with import/exporting thru different versions i have no idea what events are in my calendars to i am too afraid to delete them. Hate to delete someones birthday! But i cannot find a way to search for ALL. Is there a character in Mac that searches for everything? I think it he old DOS days you could search . and that would bring up everything. Is there something like that for Mac or am i missing some function in iCal. Not sure why they would remove list view.

abrock,
...Is there a character in Mac that searches for everything?
Enter the " character in the iCal Search field which is located in the upper right hand corner of the iCal window. When you do that you will be presented with a results pane in the bottom of the iCal window. The results pane will have four columns at the top (Calendar/Date/Type/Title). Click on the "Calendar" column to see the results organized by specific calendars.
Alternately, you can (⌘ + click) on any calendar in the "CALENDARS" source pane to deselect all calendars, then the calendar that you want to display, and enter the " character in the search field. That will display only the entries associated with that particular calendar.

  • Ical list view comes up blank

has anybody had the following issue: opening the ical app on the phone, if it is in 'List' view, then the screen will be blank. if you switch to Day or Month view and then back to List again, then the entries display normally. i didnt have this issue on my old 3G, so im surprised to be having it on iphone4, since it doesnt sound like a hardware issue, and i set up the 4 from my backup of the 3G.

  • ICal List view doubling and tripling events on iphone... HELP!

List view worked great for the first month and then 2 recurring events started doubling. In the past week events started tripling. In the other views and on my desktop events are listed correctly, it is only in the list view.
I don't know what is going on and can't find any info on it... am I the only one with this problem?
I really like list view but it's driving me crazy to the point that I can't use it. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you!!

  • Printing list view in ical

I use mail and ical for everything now. Everything is fine except When I want to print the "list view" which shows my “to dos”. It displays the URL the “do to” is attached to in mail. I use notes often in mail and enter to dos in the notes so they will have URL links. The link only becomes a nuisance when I want to print, otherwise it’s very useful.
Why would the long URL paths display when in print view???!!!!! It doesn’t make any sense.
Is there anything I can do?
    Thank you

    ecernek,
There is no event list option on iCal like the one on the iPhone.
That number means that you have an event invitation. Use iCal>View>Show Notifications to choose what to do with the notification.

  • Event List view in iCal?

I would love to have an Event List view in iCal like I do on the calendar on my iPhone. Is there such a thing? The particular reason for wanting it (this time) is that one of the calendars in the ON MY MAC list has a number in a oval to the right.
I believe this is trying to tell me that there is a new event that I need to do something about. Problem is, I don't know where to find it.

  • List view in iCal on my iPod touch is corrupted

The 'list view' seems to be all wonky in Calendar on my iPod touch.
The dates for a given day that's displayed don't make sense:
i.e. Sunday Oct. 27 2030 followed by Saturday July 14 2001 followed by Tuesday Jan. 16 2001 are listed in consecutive order instead of today, tomorrow and next day (with correct dates).
Also, the 'events' given for each day listed don't make sense and are often duplicated.
The 'day' and 'month' views however, seem to be ok and not corrupted. The 'list' field in the month view also seems fine ?
Has anybody experienced this ? Very frustrating, since I like the list view.
I make most of my entries/changes to iCal on our main desktop (iMac 24") then sync. to my iPod. The list view seems ok on the desktop.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
ps. not sure if the problem corresponded with an upgrade of the Ipod software to OS 3.1 from 2.x....

  • In Ical, can you print a list view calendar without notes?

In Ical, can you print a list view calendar without notes?

    cj,
After selecting Calendar>File>Print...> I am presented with a Print selection pane which offers among other choices, a "List" selection:
    What do you see?

  • What happened to list view in iCal? Sync broken?

Since turning on iCloud I can't find list view in iCal. Also, repeated sync with iTunes did not move new events from Mac iCal to iPhone.

The only way I have found to deal with the calendar is to click the search icon in the corner of the calendar window and you get a list view of each day. It's better than nothing

  • All day events in iCal on 3Gs w/ iOS 4.0.2 show up day early in List view

For some reasons, all day events on my Calendar (iCal synced via MobileMe) are showing up a day earlier on my iPhone, but only when I use List view. They appear fine when I use iCal on my MBP or iMac. This happens with all day events on my calendars and subscribed calendars (e.g., birthdays).
If I tap on an event in the Day or Month view, the correct date is listed. If I tap on it in the List view, the day before is listed as the date.
What in the heck is going wrong here?

I am having the same problem. I have tried different scenarios and it looks like its an issue with syncing from MobileMe. I thought I had it beat when I saw my preferences for in iCal were set to to start at 8AM and end at 6PM. I made it Midnight to Midnight but that did not fix it.
I am perplexed - has to be a bug!

  • Days missing from list view if no event entered in iCal

if i have no event entered on a particular day, the list view of iCal doesn't display the day. how can i still see the day in list view?

The List view reveals the day/days with an event scheduled only. If there isn't an event scheduled for a particular day, that day will not be shown when using List view.
The List view is a list of scheduled events only.

  • Printing iCal weekly list view

Experimenting with a trial version of Missing Sync to sync my Palm with iCal. Is it possible to delete the notes that appear under each event when I print the weekly list view? I print out 8 days and I want to keep it to one page. Eliminating the notes would help. Or is it possible to add the time frame to each event in the week view so you can more easily see the begin and end time for each event?
Is the Missing Sync program worth it or should I just use the sync program that came with iCal?

    +1 to it's return.
Seems strange that it's been removed when, with the increased convergence of OS X and iOS, it's a view that available in the Calendar app in iOS.
Like others here, this was the most useful view for me and I'm disappointed it's not there, hope it comes back with the Yosemite .1 release.
    Unfortunately it hasn't .

  • Why is ical on iPhone 5s missing old events only on list view??

i have the latest ios7 on my iphone 5s.  i only noticed this recently that old events more than 1 year old are missing from ical once i am in list view (magnifying glass) but present on day/week/month view?  On settings it is set to sync all events and events are present but not via list view.   The reason this is annoying as month view is just dots which does not help if you have different coloured categories.
Its puzzling bth.  With events showing when not in list view shows icloud is working but i don't get this?
    thanks den

I am not witnessing any instability problems on my 5S. I would check with each of the developers to see if their apps are compatible with iOS8 before deciding this is a problem with your individual device or the iPhone all together.

  • New iCal - where is my monthly/list view??

What is with the new iCal??  I desperately want the old version back!  I NEED to be able to look at the whole month at a time with a scrolling list on the bottom of what is going on when I click on the day.  This particular view is now gone!  Every person I know uses this view.  Nobody wants to see the block color coded list - I just want a simple list.  The list that I want can be found when pressing 'search', but I can't look at this with the (monthly) calendar at the top also so that I can click on days and see the event list for that day.  You would think this would be an even better view with the new larger/longer screen, but they have removed it as far as I can tell.  Any ideas?

To see the month, touch the name of the month in the upper left of the screen and you'll get the month view.  It then shows the year in the upper left and if you touch that you get the yearly calendar.  I see no mention of list view in the current iPhone user guie for iOS 7 (download for free from the Apple website).

  • ICal under 10.5 doesn't print the List view with To Do's correctly.

The problem is this: I have a bunch of To Do's in iCal. I usually print them out on paper using the LIST VIEW (print dialog) so that I can take my To Do list with me. Unfortunately, after updating to Leopard 10.5, all the URL's in my To Do's have wierd links to my email and print funny code on paper now. It's like the added feature of To Do's in mail has caused something here. Anyone else experiencing this? By this way, this only happens with old to do's (before the upgrade), not new ones.

    John,
This has happened to me as well. Our school uses phpicalendar to publish lesson plans to our web server. I have had this happen to three other teachers as well. In order to get them back to the correct server I have to export their calendars to the desktop, create a new calendar and publish it to the correct location, then import their calendars from the desktop. I haven't been able to re-enter the correct URL in the existing calendars - get an error when publishing.

  • Basic iCal functionality-list view

Does iCal have a list view? I am looking for a view of an individual calendar where I can see all the events and respective dates for that calendar. I have a lot of old calendar and can find no way of seeing all the old entries in those calendars. I would like to transpose some of those events into new calendars - selectively.

    Julie,
There are three buttons on the bottom right side of the iCal window.
Just click on the one with the three lines to view events in the list pane.
There are list print options in the Print>View selections.
