ICal lost in the cloud

My wife and I have seperate iCloud accounts with calendars but want to stay connected through our iCal on our iMac desktop. On my iPhone I lost the "OnMyMac" section that has our iCal. My wife still has her "OnMyMac" section. In the process of trying to fix this, I somehow pulled teh iCal on my iMac into ICloud.  Any suggestion on how to fix this and get us both back to a normal setup with our ICloud calendars as well as teh "OnMyMac" section with the iCal on our phones? Both phones are iPhone 4. Thanks!

If you have been backing up your Mac with Time Machine, you can try to recover your iCal calendar there and then export the calendar as a calendar backup for safe keeping.
You might not be able to have iCloud calendars and On My Mac Calendars at the same time, I do not think this is possible. You can share your calendars under iCloud and see them across all your devices.

    Which app did you use to put the data on icloud.  You can't put any "folder" from your computer to icloud.com unless you use a specific app that presents files in a folder structure.  Also, how are you trying to access the "folder", using a different device than the one you used to put the data in icloud?

  • Where do my TextEdit files go in the cloud ?

    I have 2 iCloud accounts and I am lost in the clouds .....
    One iCloud account (at mac.com) has a unique password.  My other iCloud account uses my email address and a different password .....
    The problems started with an iTunes account -- and then something called Mobile Me .... ( me.com  ) - and they just got worse ....
    I cannot find any way to merge the 2 accounts. 
    Wen I make a TextEdit document - it saves it to iCloud by default ....
    But - - I cannot find the TextEdit documents in either of my iCloud files.
    Where is my stuff ??????
    I wish that I could start all over -- but I fear for losing all my contacts, calendars, and mail .....
    Is there a way to merge iCloud accounts -- or keep everything but delete all iCloud accounts and start over ?

    You can't merge accounts.
    Text edit documents in the cloud can only be seen on computers.
    To see them on your Mac, go File > open in text edit.

    All my files are missing on the Adobe Creative Cloud, it tells me I am using 1.2 GB but I cannot see any of my files ,where are them? Please help.

    I'm having the exact same problem, but it's only on files uploaded yesterday, about a gig of files.
    An online rep who used broken English tried to help to no avail - in fact he locked me out of my account!
    After resetting my PW, I'm back on again, but the files are still missing.
    "Cloud" is a good name in this case, as they seem "lost in the cloud".
    Looks like I'll be making a 90 mile trip to access my files. Thanks Adobe!...NOT!

    If you just installed iCloud does that mean you updated the iOS that's running on your iPad?  If so, you'll want to restore all the programs you have from the backup you hopefully made.

    If you don't want to use iCloud, simply don't activate it.
    You can also download the programs again.
    If you live in a country that supports re-downloading apps then you can re-download them.  You can refer to this article for more help.

  • I have some movies I used redempetion codes for in iTunes on my computer hard drive, but they are not showing up on my Purchased list nor in the Cloud. I am concerned if something should happen to my computer that the movies will be lost.

    Like the topic says, in the past year, I have used redemption codes on blu-rays I have purchased in iTunes and downloaded copies of the movies to my desktop. The problem is I am not seeing them in the Cloud if I want to watch them on my iPad or Apple TV. It also worries me that should my computer crash, the movies are lost since the codes are already redeemed. Advice?

    I can only answer your first issue. In your ipad go to settings, iTunes & App Store, click on your Apple ID and sign out. Wait a few minutes and then log back in. The hidden apps shouldn't show any more on your ipad.

    Looks like you restored your backup file to her phone. If you didn't back up your wife's phone first, then the data is gone, sorry.

I waste a lot of time entering information because you can't go to a specific day and enter information, nor can you navigate between months and add information on a specific date by clicking on the date. You can't easily scroll month-to-month and once you do by scrolling through nine months to get to where you want to be, you cannot enter information by clicking on a specific day in the month and entering information. I just called Apple and they verified that this is the way it works. You cannot go to a date and enter information, you keep getting thrown back to today and then you have to go into the calendar and change it manually on the screen. It is just not efficient.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
    Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

    To makeuse of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mountain Lion, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:

    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space

    Connect your devices to the computer with the USB cable (one device at a time) and import the photos via iPhoto or Image Capture.
    If you have not changed any default settings on your computer, iPhoto will automatically launch when you plug in the device. Then follow the import prompts.
