ICal lost on iPad

I have just signed up for a mobile me account and my contacts and mail acc's worked but my iCal on my iPad which is not backed up anywhere else has gone. Is there anyway of getting it back? On my iPad when I click on calendars, it does not have the option of seeing the iPad calendar. If I go into disable the mobile me calender then the iPad calendar shows but both don't show together. I NEED my calendar back how can it just vanish.

Go to settings, grneral, and turn off calendar sync. Then turn it back on and see if this helps.

No, the camera connection kit only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app, it doesn't support copying content off the iPad. For your second camera instead of the SD reader part of the kit, does the iPad to camera cable not work with it for direct transfer to the iPad ?
For Lightroom and Nikon software again no - you can only install apps that are available in the iTunes app store on your computer and the App Store app on the iPad, 'normal' PC and Mac (OS X) software are not compatible with the iPad (iOS). There are some apps that perform fairly basic editing functions that are available in the store, but nothing as sophisticated as, for example, Lightroom.

Hi, I quitted Safari and press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously unti the Ipad turn off and on with the logo Apple appears but it has hanged on and fixed to the point. I do it again hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously and the Ipad turn off and on again with the Apple logo but it still is hanged on the same point. I think my Ipad is fault now. I guess I must connect it to the computer with itune, or something. If you had installed iOS 7 it would be Activation locked, but I see you only have iOS 5. You do have a backup of you iPad files on your computer or iCloud, don't you?
If the iPad was running iOS 7, the thief/finder will not ever be able to use it.

Can you set the type of alert in iCal on the iPad?

I have an iPad (1st generation) with the latest iOS5. I love the new iOS and especially the way that iCloud makes things more seamless between my devices. I do have an issue with iCal, however. When I set an event in iCal in OSX, I can set the alert to be a message, message with sound, email, etc. By default, if I set an event in iCal on my iPad the alert is a message. I can find no way to change this. If there is a way, please tell me.
Because of this, I never use iCal on iPad to set alerts because I like to use message with sound. This greatly reduces the functionality of iCal on iPad because, for me, it can only be used as a calendar event viewer. Any help would be appreciated. Note: I have contacted apple feedback about this issue.
In a related, but less important issue, I find that the settings for the timing of the alert are very limited in iCal on iPad. On iCal in OSX one can set the alert time for either the time of the event, or pretty much any amount of time prior to the event. On the iPad, iCal will only let you set it to the day of the event, 1 or 2 days before, or 1 week before the event. A limitation, but not crippling. However, if anyone knows how to set the timing of the event on iPad's iCal with more specificity I would really like to know.

Under Settings, Sounds, you can set an alert sound for calendar events.
For timed events, you can set the alert for a range of times from 5 minutes before upwards (e.g.15 mins, 30 mins, 1 hour). For all-day events, the range is as you described.
You can set the alert for each event as you create it (or edit it later)
You can set default alerts for all-day event,s timed events, and birthdays (i.e. different defaults for each type) in Settings, Mail, Contacts and Calendar, default Alerts.

I recently lost my ipad and need to change my apple ID. When I go to the ID page it gives me the option of changing any of my details except my ID which does not have an edit button next to it. How can I change the ID itself and would I lose access to my existing apps if I did change it? I have spent hours signing out of every feature on both my mac and iphone but how can i do this from my now lost ipad and would it make any difference if i could? I am very confused and frustrated with all the apple jargon on the help pages and support communities. Please can somebody help by talking english to me??

Why do you want to change the ID? If it's because you've lost your iPad just change the password so that the person now in posession of it can't get into your iCloud account.
If you really want to change the address which forms the ID you can do this at http://appleid.apple.com provided that it isn't an @icloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com address - if it's one of those that would explain why you don't have an 'edit' button and you can't change it.
It you were able to change the ID that won't affect your access to apps since the account itself remains the same, though of course the login has to be changed on every device signed into iCloud or iTunes.
If you are going to change either the ID or the password you must turn of 'Find My iPhone' on any device it is enabled on or you will find yourself in difficulties.

you did activate find my iPhone but because you removed it from the devices list, you cant do anything further. You need the device to add it back to the list.

If you have registered your device, you can go to https://supportprofile.apple.com/ and log into your apple id. Your devices appear there with serial numbers.
Additionally, your serial number is included on the original receipt when purchased at any Apple Online or Apple Retail store, or any Authorized Apple Reseller.

It will only work if you have Find My iPad enabled, and it has a connection to the internet with your settings unchanged. You have the option to lock it or erase it remotely if it can be tracked (http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f0165). However, if you erase it you will no longer be able to track it.

The only tracking feature Apple offers is the one tied to your iCloud account (https://www.apple.com/icloud/features/find-my-iphone.html). If you did not have an iCloud account set up on the iPad, or did not have the "find my iPad" setting enabled under that account's settings, then you cannot track it remotely.
There is nothing you can do but hope the police do something, or you find it yourself. Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen property.

However, I hope you IMMEDIATELY changed your AppleID password when you noticed the added email - the only way someone could do that is if they know both your AppleID primary email address AND your current password.

Ok, here's what seems to have worked....but will need to monitor to see if this stays "stable".
1) As suggested by King_Penguin in another Discussion thread [apple support > iPad > Using iPad > Discussions] (https://discussions.apple.com/message/15911962#15911962), I turned off iPhoto startup on the iPhone. Then ejected iPhone from USB.
2) Reconnected iPhone via USB. iTunes did not start up. Started up iTunes manually. Went to Summary page for iPhone, unchecked the "open iTunes" option, selected APPLY button. Let iTunes run its application process.
3) Then checked the "open iTunes" option. Selected APPLY button. Got a dialog box asking if I wanted "iTunes Helper" to be installed; selected YES. Let iTunes run its application process. Ejected iPhone. Closed out iTunes. Reconnected iPhone via USB. AND iTunes STARTED UP AUTOMATICALLY (yay!). Let iTunes do some backup and sync'ing. Ejected iPhone. Closed out iTunes.
4) Connected iPad via USB (on computer). AND iTunes STARTED UP AUTOMATICALLY (yay!).
I don't know for sure that the iPhoto "automatic launch" was causing the interference, but it seems like the "uncheck/check" the "open iTunes" option seemed to re-set the problem that I encountered. I don't want to say for sure that this issue is fixed, but it appears to be under control for the moment.

No, unless you had Find My iPad enabled on it then there isn't any way to try and locate it.
Have you reported it to the police in case somebody hands it in ? You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and if it was a cellular model also contact your carrier.
