ICal month display

Is it possible to change the amount of weeks shown in the Month display of iCal?
Currently it shows 6 weeks, thereby leaving days with more than 4 events depicted with "x more".
Ideally I'd like to change it to 3 or 4 weeks, any one know how?

Is it really not possible, I can do it on a Microsoft machine, come on Apple, pull your finger out....

  • Text Wrapping in iCal Month View?

How can I get event descriptions to wrap on the month view of my calender? Sometimes only one line of text appears and only the time of the event is visible, while in other events the text will wrap over to a second line and I can read the entire description. It’s frustrating to have to open the edit box to see what the event is!

In the month view, it's all down to the number of events you have on that day plus the size of the window/resolution of the screen.
If there's room, iCal will display all of an event's description, but if you shrink the window or add more events, the description will reduce in size- eventually into two columns - to give a chance of seeing all of them. Once there are more events than fit, you'll see an elipsis ( ... } at the top of the day. When this happens, you can only see ALL that day's events by going to week or day views.
You can potentially fit more in on the month view by turning-off the option to show the event time in month view in iCal Preferences.

  • Annoying  listings in  iCal  month view

I have both my laptop and the desktop calendar preferences set to "show time in Month view." The desktop looks exactly like I want it:
    10:00 am Division meeting
But recently the laptop calendar entries have started to look like this:
    [Nov 20, 2008]10:00am
    Division meeting
I don’t recall doing anything to make this happen and am tempted to blame MobileMe. Its very annoying because it takes up space to have the date printed out for every appointment when there is already a date in the calendar. Further, when I try to print a calendar page it only prints the date/time and not the name of the appointment. I’ve checked preferences, but can’t find where to change this. Its making me nuts.
So,in the month view I want to go from this:
    [Nov 20, 2008]10:00am
    Division meeting
    Back to this:
    10:00 am Division meeting
I'm sure there is something simple I've just overlooked, but I'd appreciate some help

  • Month display

When iCal is in the month view, the current month is displayed. There is no option in which to display the current day position, it is simply whenever it occurs during the month. For instance, in the last week of the month, the current date is in the bottom row of the month display. To see what's up for the next week, the user must toggle to the next month. Simple, but irritating. If there is not a way, there should be to make the current date default to the top or the second row down from the top. That way, the upcoming events can be seen at a glance without toggling back and forth from one month view to another. Does anyone know how that can be done?

    Send OS X Feedback.

  • ICal month view - appointments over two days

Very annoying but when entering a new event in the month view it defaults to an all day event - ok I can cope with that.
But when double clicking the new event to change it to a timed event (still in month view) and tabbing through the dates and time, the duration seems to default to 6+ hours, so after 17:00 defaults to being over two days and it is too easy to miss changing the end date.
Is there a way out of this?

  • How can I print out iCal monthly calendars for my planner?

    MacBook Pro 17"
    Intel chip
    OSX 9.6
Is there any way to print out my iCal monthly pages to make my own planner book?
I looked at a third party app called iPlanner and it purports to do what I want, but it's old and has mixed reviews. I cannot believe that there is not that function built into iCal. Please advise. Thanks you much.

You should design you front panel to more closely match the aspect ratio of the paper.
A possible solution would also be to create a special subVI with the desired print layout. Whenever you want to print, call it with the current display data and make sure to set it to "print when complete".

  • ICal list display error

I've synced iCal on my iPhone with that on my MacBook via iCloud, and although Day and Month display options correctly show the events, when I select List (which, unfortunatley, is for me the most useful setting) the events are moved three days ahead of their correct position. I suspect that there is a problem with the date/time of the List display as today (Sat 14th Jan) appears between Tues 17th and Wed 18th when displayed on the list.
When I add a new event to iCal the events in the List display revert to their correct position, but as soon as I leave iCal or the List display and return back to it the same problem reappears.
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions and/or help!

Problem solved. I turned off Calendars sync in Settings -> iCloud -> Calendars, and when prompted I deleted all the previously synced iCloud calendars from my iPhone. I then turned Calendar iCloud sync back on, resynced the calendars and the problem seems to have gone.

  • ICal month view some events shown only as ..., they show correctly in other views.

iCal month view some events shown only as ..., they show correctly in other views.

This is so utterly annoying- I never had this issue with previous versions of iCal, and I can't even run those versions on tiger now that I've upgraded. The tiger upgrade in general has disrupted my workflow much more than I thought it would-
Because of the way I use iCal, not seeing the full even title in month mode makes iCal pretty much useless to me. I don't want to have to click between dozens of events that begin with "Renders of" to find which set of renderings are due on which days. Nor do I want to go through and rename all of my "Renders of Levels 1a-3c" etc to make the titles more useful. It should just WORK.
Well, let me know if anyone finds a better way of making this work other than "resizing ad lib until things sorta show up"

Why can I NOT select March 2013 Month display in iPad's calendar ?

Just found out that I had subcribed for a calendar which shows the numbers of the calendar weeks. Turned this off and no crash anymore.
How can I get the number of calendar weeks in a different way. So that no crashes occur?

  • 6 weeks in July by month display... --- ... --- ...

Either this has been asked a thousand already (in which case I've been using the wrong search criteria and can't find a related topic), or, I'm doing something incredibly daft.
I would like to limit the month display to four weeks (or less). Is this possible?
Problem is, half my events appear as ... despite the fact that there's shed-loads of blank space in the date squares that show the ellipses.
Would it upset anyone if I said it was lame if the display is fixed/inflexible?

    Apparently not.

  • IPhone Month Display Day Order?

Currently the month display on my 3GS order the Day of Week as:
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
I would like it to display the days in this order
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
My Entourage calendar is set to display as in the latter, that is the first day of the week as Sunday.
How can I change my iPhone calendar month display Sunday as the first day of the week?
    Thanks and Cheers....

This is determined by your iPhone's Region Format selection at Settings > General > International > Region Format.
The Region Format for the United States includes the day of the week starting on Sunday.

  • Why won't my iCal icon display todays date ......

...... in the menu bar when the program is closed?
    It always displays Jul 17th
    Regards
    J

J, iCal will display Jul 17 until it is opened and remains open. When iCal is quit, it will revert to the default Jul 17. If you think that iCal should behave differently, you can send feedback to the iCal developers. For me, there are other ways to find out what today's date is than to rely on iCal's icon.
