ICal - multiple calendars ics attachment issue

I have multiple calendars configured within iCal (iCloud, gmail, work). Work is configured as default/primary when receiving new invitations. When I accept an ics invite, it automatically appears under iCloud. If i change it to work, the invite disappears from my calendar view. If i disable iCloud and gmail, accepting invites into my work calendar functions properly.
This was not an issue prior to upgrading to Mavericks. Appreciate any assistance
Thanks,
Gautam

Hello
I can offer no help, but sympathize with your dilemma. I love that you can set up several calendars on iCal and view only what you want. I have set up calendars for b-days, bills, school, work, my wife's school..... and I love how uncluttered the separate views are.
It sounds like the only option would be (and Apple must love this!) to purchase an iPhone or iTouch so that you can just keep your calendar with you, and forget about accessing your iCal on any PC.

  • Ical multiple calendars

I was wondering if there is a way to set up multiple Icals for different reasons. Example one ical for school assignments, and another ical for bills. I have one Ical now but when I go the the setting of add a new calender it only allows me to add another color for a new event on the same ical (which is not what I am trying to do). Is there a way to have multiple ical's that will allow for these two different events to be displayed without both of the events having to be seen on one ical?

I want to do the same thing, but only in reverse... I have an iPhone, Me.com, laptop, and desktop... My desktops iCal is perfect after I changed many things, deleted some things, replaced some things... Now, ever other device has double and triple posts, my desktop calendar is fine...
I've tried to replace all calendar data on MobileMe from my desktop, but it doesn't replace anything... Just adds to it. How can I fix this?

  • ICal: multiple calendar problems

I have been having problems with iCal on my Intel iMac, Powerbook G4, and now my iPhone, for a few months now. It started with just the PBG4 and the iMac having minor sync problems with my MobileMe account, like assigned calendar colors on the phone and web version of MobileMe iCal. Now it has advanced to calendars disappearing on the computers, triplicate calendars appearing on both iMac and Mobile Me web calendars, and most recently, all calendars disappearing from computers AND iPhone. If I hadn't backed up with a .icbu file, I might have nothing today. One of the weird symptoms is that I see calendars when I open iCal on the iMac, but within 5 seconds, it goes blank. I can get it back by creating a new calendar and creating/deleting a new appointment, but they will disappear again when I try to edit the calendars. Obviously, they reappear when I restore to backup. ANY THOUGHTS?????

Almost everything back to normal now. Still having some problems with views - new appointments/changes don't show up unless I refresh the page by moving to another date and then coming back. I think the problem was MobileMe and iPhone sync - I didn't do anything to fix it, but I got a notice that my calendar was being reset and then everything worked (almost).

  • How can I share multiple calendars in iCal with several different people?

I need to share multiple calendars created in iCal with all our staff. Do I enter their individual email addresses separated by a semi-colon or a "plus" sign or how. I tried entering all the email addresses with the semi-colon and when I go back to look at sharing, it just shows one email address.

I am assuming that you are referring to a responsive layout that has divisions that reposition themselves according to the width of the client browser window.
Rather than go into a teaching mode on this forum, let me point you to a nifty free Dreamweaver extension that will help you to achieve this. Have a look here http://www.dmxzone.com/go/21759/dmxzone-bootstrap?utm_source=Blog&utm_medium=link&utm_cont ent=DMXzone+Bootstrap+Released…

  • How do I export every calendar in my iCal to an ics file?

I am trying to export all my calendars from iCal to ane  ics file.  It is exporting calendar events that i have been invited to by others but is not exporting any calendar events that I have created myself.  Please help.  I have gone in and done the select all with the same results.

You can use the Password Exporter extension to export and backup the Firefox passwords, but you won't be able to import the file in IE.

  • Multiple calendars appearing in iCal

I have multiple calendars set up on my iCal for different family members. For some reason, some (but not all) of those calendars are also showing up (sometimes more than once) under the "on my Mac" tab in iCal. Any idea why, and how do I get rid of them?

As long as all the devices are logged into the same iCloud account, and are running Lion 10.7.2 or iOS5 as applicable, and have the calendar syncing turned on in System Preference (or Settings)>iCloud then they will all read the same calendars from the iCloud server.
If you have more than one iCloud account then it's still possible by Sharing.

  • Single Event / Multiple Calendars. Share All iCal At Once.....

    Hi,
I would like to share my calendars with my partner - we are both iCal/iCloud users.
We would like a calendar that is for our own personal use, which is straight forward enough, but it would be great if single entries within that calendar can be added to multiple calendars, so an event could be added to 'personal' as well as 'projectX'. Is this possible?
Also, I use iCal for scheduling my work and individual projects - each project has it's own calendar. Is it possible for me to share all of those calenders wholesale without having to share each individual one?... essentially a single read only calender share so that my partner doesn't get the clutter of multiple calenders but get's the overall picture.
Thanks in advance for any help!

How about just inserting the URL's for multiple documents in

  • ICal maxed out. I need to compare multiple calendars.

I need to see many multiple calendars at once (college schedules), more than iCal easily displays. It would help to see them in a graph. Could I use Pages or other app without having to re-enter all the date data?
    Help.

    I guess I don't get it.
RMI servers are inherently multi-threaded, so why are you running separate servers for every client?

  • Publishing multiple calendars in iCal

Is there a way to publish multiple calendars in one view. It seems that I can
only view one calendar at a time. I want to be able to overlay all of my calendars
so we all know who's doing what when.
I''m a Mom with two girls with lots of sports activities, I want the girls to be able to view all events in all calendars like I can see on my Mac.
    Thanks for any input.
    Roberta

    Hi Roberta,
You can publish multiple calenders by creating a Calendar Group. Here are some styp-by-step instructions:
    - Open the menu 'File' and click the option 'New Calendar Group'.
    - Once this new Calendar Group has been created, rename it (for instance to 'Family', 'Sports' or whatever you like).
    - After renaming the Calendar Group, add the calendars which you wish to publish.
    - FInally... publishing Calendar Group works the same as for single calendars (select the Calender Group and choose from the menu 'Calendar' the option 'Publish').
    I hope this works.

  • How do I select multiple calendars?

Somehow iCal has given me multiple -- as in hundreds -- of "untitled" calendars (a sync issue?). I want to select and delete a whole bunch of them at once. Otherewise it's a painfully slow process of selecting and deleting one at a time. Any ideas how I can select multiple calendars? Holding down the shift or command key doesn't do it.
iCal is hobbled by memory problems until I clear out these uninvited calendars. I get the spinning ball, for instance, if I try selecting a different month.

Paste this into Script Editor's window, click Run, and go for a cup of coffee. It worked here to delete a dozen newly-created untitled - don't know what it will do for you, so it might be an idea to doa backup first.
    tell application "iCal"
set Them to calendars whose name starts with "Untitled"
              repeat with ThisOne in Them
      delete ThisOne
              end repeat
    end tell

  • How to Merge Multiple Calendars?

Somehow I have managed to end up with 11 different iCloud calendars.   I would like to merge them to one or two calendars.  I tried deleting the calendar but then I get a message saying if I delete the calendar, all of the events associated with that calendar will be deleted, which I don't want to do.  Suggestions?
I think that as a result of the multiple calendars, I have multiple holidays showing up on my calendar.  For example, St. Patricks days shows up twice.  This clogs up my calendar with unnecessary events.  How to I reduce the holidays to one?

Thanks for the response, but it now has created a bigger problem.  I was able to follow your instructions on two of the calendars and it worked well.  However, on the third calendar, in importing the exporting ics file into the calendar I want to keep I get the following error:
"The server responded with an error.  The event "xxx event" was rejected by "iCloud" because it already exists".
    I then get three options:
    1) Ignore
    2) Try Again  (The same error message occurs)
    3) Revert to Server (I have no idea what this means - but when I click it, nothing seems to happen)
There doesn't seem to be a way to get out of this import activity and error messages.  I have to Force Quit the program to stop.  I have tried restarting the computer and the same thing occurs.  Now I can't use iCal (although if I go into my iCloud calendar on Safari - that works).
I suppose I could continue to click on Ignore and eventually it would go through all of the duplicate entries.  However, there is probably 10 to 15 years of entries.   There could thousands if not tens of thousands of entries.
Any suggestions?   Maybe I will sit down for a long movie and click on "Ignore" several thousand times and that will solve the problem!

  • Multiple calendar entries in subscribed calendars

I have an IPhone 3GS (software version 4.3.3) and have subscribed to a calendar published from Outlook 2007.
The issue is that I get multiple calendar entries on the IPhone, and only on the IPhone, for calendar entries that have been edited.  If I subscribe to the calendar from a computer, no multiple calendar entries appear.
For example, suppose I had a repeating entry on the Outlook calendar that had an appointment form Tom every Monday morning at 9:30 and that that calendar had been published to the web. Also suppose I've subscribed to that calendar on the IPhone.  Suppose also that I then edit a single instance of that repeating entry and change the appointment to be with Nic and re-publish the calendar.
On the IPhone I will see both the original appointment with Tom and the changed appointment with Nic.
If I subscribe to that same calendar using another computer with Outlook 2007 installed, I only see the new entry.
I have tried unsubscribing from the calendar, unsharing/resharing the calendar, turning off/on the IPhone, and nothing makes a bit of difference.  I've tested this on another IPhone 3GS and it displays the same symptoms.
Under settings, I see the calendar associated with my Outlook account (Comcast), and one subscribed calendar.  The server for the subscribed calendar is calendars.office.microsoft.com/pubcalstorage/vqh8dk8z895660/Houston_Bridge_Stud io_Calendar.ics .
Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution?
    Help would be appreciated.

  • Collate multiple calendar entries

    Hi Guys,
I have a family of 5 all on iPhone's and IPads with thier own calendars.  My wife and I also have work calendars.
To keep track of what our kids are up to we get them to 'invite' us to events in thier calendars (work shifts etc) so that if we are viewing the calendar on our phones it shows up in our own calendar...
The problem happens when we open the calendar app on the iPad and show both our calendar and the kids calendar... sometimes the same event is shown on three different calendars.
Is there some way of getting the Calendar app to condense the double and triple entries into a single entry when viewing multiple calendars?

I had this issues. When I looked in the iCal preferences it still had my MobileMe account in there. I deleted that and all was well.
    Hope this helps.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Right-clicking on .ics attachment?

When I click on an .ics attachment in an e-mail I'm given the option of "Add to iCal". But when I select that it doesn't do anything but open iCal. The event isn't added. What's going on?
Thanks in advance for your advice and help.

hello m4lvolio, thanks for reporting this issue.
however this is a primarily community-run support forum so it's probably not the right place to report bugs (we cannot implement any features & devs won't read here).
if you feel that it's a bug in the browser (and i can certainly replicate the issue), please file a bug at bugzilla.mozilla.org.

  • Ical multiple windows

Hello iCal community.  I have an annoying thing happening where it seems I have multiple calendars that load each time I open the desktop app, and my main calendar window isn't the first one that displays.  I have to use Command+O for that.  I'd like to close all of the ones that show in the attached screenshot and only have the main calendar window open.  I don't know why I have something called "contacts"?  Please advise and thanks.

This will be fun to play with... multiple windows definitely helps.
