ICal not finding delegate names. Sno Leo server

Hi
New install of snow leopard server 10.6.8. Using the server just for iCal sharing. Server is set as an open directory master.
I've entered user names. I can log in as each in iCal. When I try to add people who can see my calendar, the names show up but I get the following when I choose them:
Cannot enable access to your account. "xxxx" was not found.
Search again for the user you want to add by typing their name, and selecting one of the resulting choices.
It did work briefly but then stopped..
If I add "Directory Administrator" or "System Administrator" it works.
Thanks

Hi-
Were you able to delegate to a group via the command line? I've been trying and although the command goes through, the resource or location does not show up in an individual user's iCal account under the delegation tab. I too want to avoid adding 40+ users manually!
Thanks,
Matt

    HI,
Try to configure the tnsnames.ora in this format and let me know

        (CONNECT_DATA =

Also - my battery has been telling me "service battery" for a LONG time and then it switched to "replace soon" som time ago. Can't really see what this has to do with anything but whatever.
That could conceivably explain all the problems you're describing. Replacing a Mac's battery should not be postponed since a failed battery will cause other problems to occur. It is also possible that its hard disk has failed, which means the information on it may soon become unrecoverable.
... my latest TM back up was from April 2014, can I just run this when I have rescued everthing and then it might not be as slow?
If that Time Machine backup remains intact, it may be the only viable means of recovering that Mac's information. I suggest you do not attempt to restore its contents to your ailing Mac.
Given that you are having trouble creating a newer Time Machine backup you should stop using that Mac immediately and have it serviced as soon as you are able. Do not take it to anyone other than Apple or a service facility authorized by Apple, for the very reasons you explained. If there are no Apple Stores in your vicinity search for an Authorized Apple Service Provider using the Contact Us link below. Use one of the options that appear under Contact Apple Support. The language on that page will be different for your location.

  • SharePoint 2010 with SQL Reporting Services 2012 "Installation Error: Could not find SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\110 registry key"

i have a small sharepoint farm "2 servers" (WFE) and SQL Server 2012 ,
i installed rsSharePoint for reporting services , as a read the Reporting services is Application Service  with SQL 2012 not as SQL 2008 R2 with SharePoint integrated mode, so after installation when am trying to configure the  SQL Server
Reporting Services Application services i got the below error :
"Installation Error: Could not find SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\110 registry key"
any kind of help would be much appreciated .

I'm having the same issue, but to me it seems like the instructions I've seen are all over the place.  I already have SP 2013 and SQL 2012 SP 1 installed.  I already added the features for Reporting Services - Sharepoint and Reporting Services
Add-in for SharePoint Products.  I didn't see the Reporting Service service in CA, so I ran the powershell scripts to add SPRSService and SPRSServiceProxy.
My initial quest, was to get the BI features enabled, which took me on the journey of adding the Report Services, then I got the error.
Then when I read this about installing the BI features
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/querysimon/archive/2012/11/26/installing-the-bi-features-of-sharepoint-2013.aspx, which I already had SQL and SP installed.  Do I have to rerun and selct the SQL Server PowerPoint for SharePoint option?  I have the PowerPoint
Configuration Tool on my SQL server, I run it and I get PowerPivot for SP 2013 Configuranoi is missing prerequisits:  SP 2013 EE is required.  Which I have EE.
Is Reporting Services different or in addition to the BI Feature (PowerPivot)?
    Have I missed a step?
    Thanks for you help.

  • Installation Error: Could not find SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\120 registry key.

    Dear Expert,
I setup SharePoint for 3 tiers, WFE, APP + DB Server.
I installed SQL 2014 reporting service Add-in on APP Server and already enable sql reporting service in DB Server. DB Server can do report server.
I follow the step : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219068(v=sql.120).aspx  but I stuck in no.2, I cannot start the services, in picture below.
I checked the SSRS provision is disabled not online
    Please help.

    Hi MasterBird,
According to your description, when you register and start the Reporting Services SharePoint Service, the error: Could not find SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\120 registry key is thrown out.
    As this
article say, if you use three-computer deployment, the first computer hosts an instance of a SharePoint product. The Reporting Services Add-in is installed on this computer. The second computer hosts SQL Server Reporting Services and the third computer
hosts an instance of the Database Engine.
Regarding the error message, it could cause by the Reporting Services – SharePoint feature and Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint Products haven’t been installed. Please refer to articles:
SSRS SharePoint 2013 Create Service Application error: Could not find SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\110 registry key Error
Installing SSRS 2012 in SharePoint Mode on SP2010
If issue persists, please check the error detailed information in ULS logs, and check Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\120\Setup Bootstrap\Log to see if any error occurred during set up. For more information, please refer to this article:
    Troubleshoot a Reporting Services Installation.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Reportings Services in a 2-Tier Architecture / (Installation Error: Could not find SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\110 registry key. )

    Hello,
we want to install Reporting Services in a 2-Tier Architecture. The Servers are the following:
SERVER1: Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012
    SERVER2: SharePoint 2013 (WFE)
Reporting Server is installed on SERVER1 and running. On SERVER2 the registration of the service through Powershell was done but it does not start. An Error when starting the Service on the server occurs with the message:
"Installation Error: Could not find SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\110 registry key."
I have found the following in msdn stating that a minimal of the same SharePoint Installation must exist on the Reporting Server. The article is for SQL Server 2008 R2 and SharePoint 2010. Is this the case also for SQL Server 2012 and SharePoint 2013 and
the root of the problem? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb510781%28v=sql.105%29.aspx
If so does this mean that I require for the installation another License?!?!
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to install Reporting Services in a 2-Tier Architecture.
    As the article
say, if you use Two-Computer Deployment, the first computer hosts an instance of a SharePoint product. The Reporting Services Add-in is installed on this computer. The second computer hosts SQL Server Reporting Services and the Database Engine.
The steps to install in a  two-tier environment are very similar to a standalone environment hence you can go to refer to the ' Install Reporting Services SharePoint Mode for SharePoint 2013' article at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219068(v=sql.110).aspx
To install in a  two-tier environment, you can refer to:

  • EMS error - could not resolve the name of the server

    Hi.
Log on to Exchange 2013 server (CAS)
Try to run EMS on this server and get this error:
...The WinRM client could not process the request because it could not resolve the name of the server.
Nslookup FQDN of this exchenge server -all ok.
What happend? Two weeks ago, all worked.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
To narrow down the cause, I recommend the following troublwshooting:
    1. Change another admin account to try to open the EMS on CAS server.
    2. Try to empty your local DNS cache by ipconfig/flushdns
    3. Try to Disable WinHTTP proxy by running  : netsh winhttp reset proxy
    4. Refer to the following article to resolve the WinRM error:

  • ICal Sno Leo server - iCal dropping note text..

    Hi
I am using Snow Leo server as an iCal server. 45 calendars and 15 users. The users have Leopard through Mountain lion. 2 users have Busycal, the rest use iCal.
When a user edits notes for an event, the change takes but then after a while (12hrs?) the change reverts. This does not happen every time but up to 45% of the time.
When a user creates an event and adds notes, the notes stay. It is only when the user adds or edits note text that the issue arises.
Another issue is whan a user created an event and others edit it, the event has one or two alarms added. Once again this is arbitrary. I'm not sure if this is related..
    Thanks for any ideas..

I was having a problem with iCal not refreshing the calendar with new events from the corporate Exchange server. I wasn't having the problem with online-offline described earlier. However, perhaps the remedy is the same.
What I did: I deleted the Exchange account in iCal and re-created it. It is now showing events that it wasn't showing before and appears to be functioning normally. Unless there is something I don't know, it's safe to delete and re-create the calendar since all the information is stored on the Exchange server.
Give it a try and see if this remedies your problem.
I don't know what triggers the problem. I'm speculating that in my case it might be due to a changed password, since I have to change my Exchange password every 90 days. I suspect there is a corruption problem going on between Mail and iCal when the Exchange password is updated. And, I did try updating the password in iCal directly, but it didn't help. The only thing that did was to delete and re-create the calendar.
    Hope this helps.

  • ORA-12516: TNS:listener could not find ... on Windows Server 2003

We are getting "ORA-12516: TNS:listener could not find available handler" while testing asp.net web application.
    We have following configuration:
    - A 10g database server on Windows Server 2000
    - A Web Server running IIS6 on Windows Server 2003
    - ODP.Net for 10g client installed on Web Server
we are testing our web app with 75 concurrent users, as far as I can tell we are closing connections in our app and open connection only while retrieving and saving records.
I saw this error very first time when we upgraded our web server to use 10g client. Before that we were using Oracle 9 client and have tested this app with 100 concurrent users without any error.
Does anyone can help or point a resource that can help to resolve this error?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You'll likely want to take that up with the networking folks as the error seems to be coming from the Listener.
How many connections does each instance of your app make? If you make the same number of connections via sqlplus for example rather than ODP, do you see the same results? I know creating 60 or sqlplus sessions may not be fun, but it will help determine if this issue is truly somehow related to ODP. It doesnt seem likely it would be, and if ODP can be removed from the picture, it will be that much easier to troubleshoot.
One thing I'd suggest though, is to make sure your app is cleaning up after itself properly to as to use resources efficiently. If you have access to My Oracle Support, see the following note:
Note 730678.1 Oracle Data Provider for .Net Best Practices
    Hope it helps,

  • Spotlight not finding folder names

I’m not sure when this happened - perhaps when I changed my home folder to a FileVault image. Now Spotlight will not find any folders. I have, no doubt, selected folders in the pref pane. I tried deleting the Spotlight perf file. This did cause me to have to reconfigure the preferences - I selected folders - still didn’t find any! I have reindexed Spotlight by dragging the drive in and out - no change. I ran all the Cocktail cache deletions, etc. - no effect. I give up!
    Has anyone heard of this?

Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /.Spotlight-V100
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
              Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open with a subfolder selected. Move the subfolder to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer. If you try to search now from the magnifying-glass icon in the top right corner of the display, there should be an indication that indexing is in progress.
You can't see the folder in the Trash because it's invisible. The next time you empty the Trash, it should be deleted.

During the Solaris installation process, you told it what the hostname was going to be and that you wanted that environment to exist with a dynamic IP address instead of a specific address that you desired.
When Solaris boots it broadcasts that hostname and waits for a DHCP server to be quasi-intelligent enough to award an IP address based upon a pre-configured list inside that DHCP server.   Hostname ABC would always get IP address 123 on subnet rst, hostname DEF would always get IP address 456 on subnet xyz, and so on and so on.
That's the fundamental process for proper (and thus secure) DHCP.
All your other environments (Windows, Debian, Ubuntu) are what might be thought of as "hacked for convenience" to get around that sort of network configuration.  They take the lazy way to exist.  That partial networking setup is good enough for a home network but would be miserably insecure in a corporate environment.  Those choices are operating environments that are nice for end-user desktops but aren't Enterprise Class.
    My suggestion?
Review the IP address range in your Netgear router's setup.
It is likely something like 192.169.0.1 through 192.168.0.50 and can be customized.
You probably don't have 50 devices on your network and probably will never have 50 simultaneous devices on your network.
... just do a reconfigure reboot and set your Solaris to use a static IP of 192.068.0.45
Then reboot and I predict your issue that prompted this forum thread will be gone.
That's how I've done it at home for many years, even when installing Solaris to bare metal (no virtualization).

  • ICal not recognizing user name or password when it previously did

I'm getting this all of sudden: "The server did not recognize your user name or password for account 'iCloud.' Make sure you enter them correctly". Yet, there is no where for me to re-enter my info. How do I get my computer ical and iCloud to re-sync?  Both, on my iphone and macbook, the icloud selctions for calendars are checked.  I did not change anything before this happen; and, all my other applications are syncing up perfectly.

Yes same here - I think it is because after downloading and then getting rid of the buggy mackeeper I have changed some of my keychain permissions - but like you I get the message without any indication of here to put my password into? checked my preferences for icloud and etc and all seems fine???? where do I enter them???

  • 2012 R2 machines not finding updates from 2012 WSUS Server

So I've seen some similar things to what I'm seeing mentioned but haven't found an exact replica.
Our WSUS machine is running Server 2012 and syncs its patches down from a different WSUS machine also running 2012.
    WSUS is version 6.2.9200.
We have spun up a number of 2012 R2 VMs lately and just noticed that those machines are not getting their updates.  The machines running 2012 Non-R2 are working just fine.
The windowsupdate.log file from one of the 2012 R2 machine has various lines such as:

I've seen reference to a KB article that applies to WSUS 3.2 but we don't have that so I'm not sure what else we can try.
    Any ideas would be great.

  • Safari, iPhoto & iCal not finding Mail

For some strange reason Safari cannot "see" Mail to "send a link" or "contents" of a web page. I get a message saying that I meed to install Mail first. In iPhoto the button to "email" a picture is generic (grey oblong and not iconic) and now only asks the size I want to send but does not send. I DO have Mail installed and it IS working to the best of my knowledge but somehow neither Safari nor iPhoto can find it. And now I have tried to send a reminder to myself in iCal and THAT does not "see" Mail. Neither does iCal recognise the "Me" in AddressBook when entering an "invitee". AddressBook however will send me an email from the contextual menu dropdown in the email address field??? Wierd, eh? Any ideas? thanks and cheers! sam BTW ALL of the above were working over the past week or so....

ALL of the above were working over the past week or so....
Have you changed any settings or installed any software? Do you remember what you did just prior to your issues?
Do you have the latest versions of Safari, iPhoto and iCal?
Try trashing the com.apple.mail.plist file and restart your computer - ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Do you have the same issues in a new account?
Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751
