ICal not uploading to iCloud

Hello everyone.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm running 10.9.7 on MacBookPro. To fix, I backed up iCal, deselected sync in system pref, all data cleared from iCal, restored it by import, ticked to sync in preferences – nothing. I even manually created the calendars with the same names in iCloud, but to no avail. New event created on the iCloud calendar syncs to iPhone but not to Mac.

In the meantime I fixed the problem by chance. This is what happened. I have deselected the calendar tick box in iCloud in sys pref. This has wiped iCal. On the iCloud at this stage there were only empty calendars with the same names I had in iCal I created manually after logging in to iCloud in Safari. The fact that there is no data on the iCloud confirms the fact that if I create a new even there, that is the only thing that gets synced immediately to my iPhone (but not the laptop) and nothing else.
So, iCal wiped on the Mac, iCloud with no data. I tick the calendar box in sys pref back on and it brings all the data back to iCal from iCloud, even though there appears to be nothing on iCloud and nothing gets synced to iPhone. That is good, but I still cannot sync the iCal to iPhone.
In the Calendars column in iCal, I never get an option "On My Mac". Only iCloud. So from this iCloud in the iCal I delete one by one all the calendars. In sys pref the Calendar box is ticked when I do this. Then I restart, three times one after another. Then I open iCal and import the separate calendars one by one. They go straight into the iCloud heading on the left. And they get uploaded straight away and get synced to iPhone. All is well. Tested by adding events from each device and iCloud itself. All working.

Unfortunately, photo stream on a PC is iffy at best. Many people have problems getting it to work properly, including myself. A work around would be to use an app like PhotoSync on your PC, which can send photos wirelessly to the camera roll on any of your iOS devices on the same wifi network. Once in the camera roll, you iOS device will be added to your photo stream.

I think the iCloud is OK.
i can see and manage documents in iCloud. i can create them on iPad and see them and delete them in iCloud.
But not on iMac.
i dont know what has happened and I am not abble to find the solution. It was OK till some days ago….

Documents are not uploading to iCloud from Pages

All software is up to date. On OSX 10.9.1 I am only having this issue on my MBP. Documents are uploading to iCloud from my phone just fine. I had edited a document and it continues to just say "Waiting" and doesnt upload any changes. I also started a new document and saved it but it will not upload to iCloud, so I can not access it on the phone. I am not sure if this is a glitch from the most current Pages update. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix for this issue?

Unfortunately neither of those options work. Last thing I did was reinstall Pages and it is exactly the same. Unfortunately now it will not appear in the Launchpad and I have to keep it in my dock. Having such a horrible day with this. I do not understand why Apple charges us so much for their hardware and then forces us to use things like iCloud, because they restrict the full benefits of things like Dropbox or Skydrive, when they cant have it working properly. I have read other posts on here with similar issues or even worse off.
I greatly appreciate your help Winston. I think I will have to contact Apple now, I am just hoping it ends up being a simple fix.

I also have this problem, just from the iPhone 5s which makes my life crazy, too.
The problem of having multiple devices doesn't seem to help, but the odd part is when everything I am doing is correct, it still doesn't sync like it used to do before iCloud, and when we had to USB wire connect the iPhone to the Laptop to make contacts sync.
Might I add that I am not using MAIL on my LAPTOP?
but ?Britty sounds like her issue is easier as gmail sometimes can create duplicates so you are in good if you are not having that problem or nightmare...

This should be working and I have checked the CONTACTS on the laptop GROUPS , iCloud, vs ALL ON MY MAC

Event on Mac was not upload to iCloud?

New event which was created on my Mac was not uploaded to iCloud.
How can I solve it?
OS is Lion.

Open iCloud.com and view the calendar.
Click on the gear at top right then Refresh calendar.
Click on the calendar list button to the left of Day at top center. This will display a list of calendars on the left.
Make sure the same calendar as the event you created on your Mac is ticked.

Photos not uploading to iCloud Photo Library from Photos beta

I have been trying for a couple of weeks now to upload photos from my Mac to the iCloud Photo Library using the new Photos beta. I have about 2,800 photos and the upload process just stalls with about 2,000 photos left to upload.
I've tried turning the upload on and off and rebuilding the library but nothing works. A couple of times when restarting the upload process I have received this error message:
Referenced files will not upload to iCloud Photo Library
Select referenced files in your library and choose “Consolidate” from the File menu to copy the original files into the library.
So I gather I'm supposed to select a few files and consolidate them, but I have no idea what the "referenced" files are. Might anyone know?

On the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Calendars is swtiched on.

ICal not sending to iCloud after Lion update.

Just upgraded iMac to Lion 10.7.3 and now iCal not sending new appointments or reminders to iCloud. However in the opposite direction, if I create on iOS on iPhone/iPad then these are sent on to iCloud and then pushed down to iCal fine.
Turning iCloud on and off on iMac does not seem to help. Also manual refresh (Calendar > Refresh All) or turning off Push in preferences does not help. Email also sends fine...
Any ideas/similar?

Try quiting iCal and deleting the calendar cache.
Choose Home from the Finder's Go menu.
Open the Library folder. (If you are using OS X Lion, you will need to hold the Option key while clicking the Go menu in order to access the Library folder.)
Open the Calendars folder.
In the Finder, delete the Calendar Cache files, including any that also display a -1 (or -2, -3, and so forth) directly after their filename.
Then open iCal and try again.

Some photos do not upload to iCloud

I took about 100 photos at an event. It was one had a chance to go to on the spur of the moment, and I only had my iPhone (5s, running 8.1.3). Normally for something like this, I would have used a camera, but my phone was all I had.
My phone is set to upload photos to iCloud. But, 36 hrs later, about 20% (18 or 20....I haven't completed the careful comparison yet) of the photos that are on my phone are NOT in my iCloud (as viewed in iPhoto on my Mac; they're not in my PhotoStream on my iPad either so I'm assuming they really aren't in iCloud).
There is no difference, that I can detect, in the photos that did not make it to iCloud (from the ones that did). I transferred a couple to my Mac by Messaging and they have the same characteristics (in "Info") as the ones that came to the Mac automatically.
I tried selecting a couple of photos that did not make it to iCloud on my phone and, with the little sharing icon (up arrow), I selected them for sharing to My Photo Stream. So far (about an hour) they have NOT appeared in my Photostream view in iPhoto on my Mac.
What gives? I definitely have had this occur occasionally before, with a shot or two. Normally I would use my camera for a bunch of photos like this and wouldn't notice the problem. But in trying to bulk transfer slightly over 100 photos to my Mac, I was HOPING that I could count on iCloud photo sharing to do the job for me. Instead, I have a bigger nuisance trying to inventory my camera and make sure I haven't missed manually transferring one or two to my Mac!!

Well, during the now 3 day period since the photos were taken, the phone (and camera app) has been closed, powered off, restarted, etc. a number of times. I was outdoors and not connected to wi-fi during the shoot. But my phone went on a charger and connected to wi-fi right after I got home. Since I took over 100 photos at this event, there was a period near the end of the session when my phone battery was low, but some of the photos missing from photo stream are in the first group that I took that day. The phone never "died" or failed to shoot a photo, so the battery was never critically low.
After doing a better count, I took about 120 snaps total. Only about 85 photos seem to have ever entered photo stream, as counted in iPhoto on my Mac. Roughly the same count of missing photos is seem on my iPad which stayed home the whole time and wasn't involved in this except that it shares my Photostream.
Working on the individual photos on my phone, marking them to share in my Photostream STILL does not get them into it!! So, there are some photos that just will not upload it appears. Once into iPhoto on my Mac, I cannot see any consistent difference in the size or technical characteristics of the ones that did not upload as compared to the ones that did.
I have transferred ALL the photos from this session on my phone by usb cable upload to my Mac, so it's NOT a serious issue at this time. However, it greatly upsets me that a major part of my photo set did NOT get uploaded to iCloud for backup purposes. Nor would they have gotten to my Mac where I archive photos if I hadn't taken the time to upload them by cable.
I seriously doubt that my Photostream limit was approached as I haven't used my iPhone camera for anything other than an occasional snap or two per week for months. As I said, I would usually have used a camera for this photo session had I not been caught out with only my phone. But I only took about 120 photos in this session. And the missing 30 or so photos are scattered all through the photo shoot from beginning to end!
So, it's a mystery to me too! About 20% of the photos I took just never ended up getting to Photostream.

Some pictures on my iphone 4s are not uploaded to Icloud and Photostream and stay in the camera roll

After taking pictures with my IPhone 4S the pictures are not uploaded from the camera roll to ICloud and my Ipad. The pictures do not show up in the the IPhone Photostream after taken. Any solutions?

I have experienced a similar issue.
Normally all photos from iPhone or iPad correctly push to photostream and it works.
But on a recent travel the photostream pushing seemed "spotty" and some random pictures taken with iPhone were/are not pushed to photostream. On the destination there was a (slow) wifi connection, might have something to do with it - but even after getting home to my faster wifi connection the remaining photos in my camera roll are still not pushed to photostream from the iPhone.
The missing photos not being pushed from the iPhone to photostream are random in timeline ("spotty" pushing).
Any ideas on why this happens?
I guess after connecting the iPhone to my Mac the entire camera roll will load into iPhoto, and iPhoto on Mac will do the remaining "pushing" to photostream; will have to wait and see.
But this issue purely is about incomplete pushing from iPhone camera roll to photostream.

Video in iMovie theater not uploading to iCloud

i am trying to upload my videos in iMovie theatre so it syncs across my other devices but it keeps stalling when I try to upload to iCloud and it never finishes uploading. My iPad is still on iOS 7 but my iPhone and Mac are on the latest operating System of iOS 8 .0 and Yosemite. Could this be the reason? Any ideas how to fix this?

OK, well that makes things easier because I wasn't sure if there was an issue with iMovie theatre after the iCloud Drive update with devices that won't run it. Since you haven't upgraded to iCloud Drive, I'm sure you shouldn't have an issue uploading from your Mac.
Could you describe exactly what happens, I sometimes see the progress bar complete but not actually disappear, next time I open iMovie the progress bar has disappeared and the movies are available on other devices so obviously they do complete.
The other thing to consider is whether this is project specific. How many projects have you tried and have you tried compiling a real simple and short project to upload for test purposes.
Is your Mac connected to the network with ethernet or wifi.

ICal not syncing on iCloud from iPhone to MacBook

Recently noticed that new entries on my iCal on iPhone are not syncing on iCloud with the iCal details on my MacBook. No problem the other way (initial entry on MacBook syncing with iPhone) or indeed any other apps / Mail / Contacts etc. Have checked all items are 'on' in systems preferences and have re-booted the iPhone - to no avail.
Any suggestions?

I followed the steps Ticklesneezer suggested (disable 'Calendars' in iCloud, reboot each machine, re-enable 'Calendars' in iCloud, starting with iPhone), and it did not work.
I think it has to do with the fact that I just started syncing my iMac calendar about a month ago. Since then, the following has occurred:
- For iCloud entries: new entries sync fine, but older entries (older than one month) only show up on my iMac, not on my iPhone -- and those are the entries I actually created on my iPhone, so they appear to have been added to the iMac and deleted from the iPhone. I checked to make sure that the older entries are in the iCloud calendar, and they are.
- For Exchange entries (the calendar synced through my Outlook mail account from work): new entries sync fine, but older entries (older than one month) only show up on my iPhone, not on my iMac.
I need to be able to access the older entries from both devices.
Any other suggestions?

I just got a new iPhone today and I am having trouble syncing my iCal to it. Prior to this I did not have an iCloud. I created one on iCloud.com but everything there is blank. The iCal on my laptop is full, but I don't see an option in preferences to sync with iCloud, only something about MobileMe. I don't really understand what I'm suppose to do. I've looked through many different forums about this, but nobody seems to talk about my specific problem. Ideas?
Side question... where is Facetime on the iPhone? I thought it was included, but I can't find it and it's not avilable through the app store.

If you are running OS X 10.6 or earlier on your computer you will want to either:
A. Sync your calendar using the USB cable and NOT use iCloud calendars (as iCloud requires Lion (10.7): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
B. Purchase and install Lion assuming your Mac meets the requirements: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4949
If you are running 10.7 on your Mac (Check by going to Apple > About this Mac), reply back and we can suggest how to get the calendars on iCloud.

Photos after upgrading to iOS 8 not uploaded to iCloud

Before updating to iOS 8 I had in iOS 7 deactivated the service Photostream. All of my 200 photos I had stored only in memory of my iPad. After updating to iOS 8 I activated Photostream. The photo is there but not uploaded. They are still in the memory of the iPad. The new post-shooting photos uploaded to iCloud without problem. Is there any possibility of my 200 photos to get iCloud? Thank you and sorry for bad English.

Same thing happened to me. I realized it was Foursquare the app that was consuming the location service constantly. I went to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and disabled Foursquare for location services.
Maybe you have Foursquare or another similar app that's consuming the location service. Perhaps you should try disabling the apps in Location Services one at the time.
