ICal notes and their indication on calendar entries.

Hi, everyone.
I am reviewing entries I've made in iCal for the past 3 years and need to print notes associated with these entries.
Only a small percentage of the entries have notes. Aside from opening every entry to see if they have notes associated with them, is there a simpler way to identify which of the calendar entries has notes so as to expedite my work ? I don't want to go back approximately 3 years and be forced to open every single calendar entry to see if notes are available.
Is there a way or some form of preference setting that would cause iCal to display some form of flag or other indicator showing which iCal entries have notes ? This would allow me to look at the calendar for a specific month and immediately identify those calendar entries with notes.

Snow Leopard: during the upgrade process your iCal calendars should be moved to MobileMe (this can take some time and you have to wait for it to happen). Once done, your iCal reads the calendars from MobileMe so any changes made in either place will be visible immediately. If this has not happened then this Apple Tech Note provides instructions:

My iPad is not letting me make new calendar entries, says calendar is not set - but I'm still able to make entries on my iPhone and then that entry appears on iPad.....but then I can't edit it, or add information. Really frustrating ....it worked before.

Hoping someone can help me with this?
My iPad calendar is not working, yet the iPhone calendar is fine. When I make an entry into iPhone the iPad gets it ...but then I'm unable to edit or alter the entry at all.
Really frustrating, because all worked fine up until a few days ago ...panicking now because I'm not sure I can trust my calendar (which I rely on heavily).
If anyone has any ideas as to how to fix this bug, please reply.

It is locked to your sisters carrier.
She would have to ask her carrier if they unlock iPhones and if she qualifies for this service.

How do I stop receiving calendar invites on iCal/iCloud and use exchange 2013 calendar instead?

I Have an exchange 2013 email account which isn't registered as part of my iCloud account.
i Use my outlook calendar (exch) for work and the same exch calendar day to day from all my iOS devices.
when a colleague or outside email away from my company sends me a calendar meeting request, it works fine. (Using my exch email as the invite recipient).
my girlfriend sends me a meeting request from her hotmail account using the same exch email address for me, but he. Invites always arrive to my iCloud/iCal calendar instead! I can't seem to change it so I often miss diary notes or reminders unless I constantly look at both calendars.
i Just want to use exchange calendar and lose iCal (or if easier sync both iCal and exchange calendars vica versa - but that may be over complicating the issue, basically I just need one calendar and would rather it be my outlook exchange cal)
any ideas?

False alarm..... it didnt work sorry.
I removed the iCal accounts from my mac, and also from my iphone. Then when my partner sent me a calendar invite it simply didnt arrive at all!
She has a hotmail account installed on her IOS iphone 5.
She is sending the invite to my exch 2013 email address which is not associated with any icloud account.
My exch 2013 email is installed in both my Outlook for mac 2011 and IOS device Iphone 5s.
When I switch the iCloud Calendar back on in my iphone 5s, the invite comes through but ONLY optional to the icloud calendar. I cannot seem to get it receiving on my default calendar which is set to Exchange 2013 account.
Its very strange as its only her invites that do this. Anyone else's come through on my exchange calendar because its the same email address receeving it my end.

If you backup your iPad, the entries may be in your backup but only the entries as of the date of the last backup will be in there. You can try restoring from a backup which will also restore everything in the backup onto the iPad. You can't just select the calandra entries to be restored.

ICal Wiki Groups - Can't Modify Calendar Entry - Error Bad Gateway

Hello All,
Recently found out how to add a wiki calendar to iCal however it seems rather buggy. I can add calendar entries just fine but when I go about modifying an entry it spits out:
The server responded with
“HTTP/1.1 502 Bad Gateway”
to operation CalDAVMoveEntityQueueableOperation.
Anyone else see this problem?

i have the same problem. i have my own snow leopard server running ical server. 5 users, (typical) shared calendaring. i personally have multiple calendars created. i see this error when i try to change the calendar of an invited event (from work to personal, for example).
any thoughts?

Iphone/google calendar and ical - not able to select the calendar

Ok, I can get my google calendar to sync with ical (using caldav or whatever and not some subcription method) as well as sync to my iphone.
My problem is entering a calendar event on my iphone. It always ends up in some other calendar. I can never change it. What am I doing wrong?

BEWARE of the "replacement" - when they say they will replace it, they often mean with a refurbished device, they will not replace it with a new device.
Because I bought my 4s from a different retailer, even though it is an Apple device that failed less than 24 hours out of the box, Apple will not give me a new phone - they acknowledged that it is a manufacturing defect, and couldn't understand why I was not satisfied with receiving a refurbished device. This seems ridiculous to me - I'm a long-time, repeat customer - but that doesn't appear to matter.
I've heard great things about Apple customer service, now that I've needed it, I've found it isn't so great after all.

Updated iCal and lost all recent calendar entries/schedules...

hello, i did about 1 hour of editing and updating and adding new events on my iCal today. And for the first time, i accessed my iCal from the web, and it looked good and accurate. A few hours later, I decided to reply to the iCal update prompt, and so I clicked update. I opened up iCal after the update and all recent edits/additions I made early today, were all gone. Even after I restarted the computer. Very, very stupid. This is why people are so skeptical with updates. Can someone help? This seems like an issue that would happen 10 years ago, not today. Thank you!!
Also, can we no longer browse the categories of discussions to see if our question can be answered by previous posts? I clicked on "browse" in the top right corner of the discussion page where the "new" and "my stuff" links are, and it went straight to a page that had no category options. Just all posts, of all topics. Thanks again....

oh my goodness..... and now, there is a duplicate color in the 3 categories of events within iCal (personal, work, and home).
Personal, and Work are both green now.
Doesn't this defeat the whole purpose of different colors?

ApplesScript needed to copy iCal event and move into different calendar

I hope someone can help with this request.
For starters, I'm clueless on AppleScript and don't have the time or energy to learn it.
I am looking for a script that will copy an event in one calendar and move it to my CalDav (Google) calendar - which I intend using as my primary calendar going forward.
My techie friends give me strange looks when I explain how I came to this situation: I have to accept Outlook meeting invitations in Entourage to avoid the problem of events showing up 2 hours early (or late - can't remember which) in iCal. I have iCal and Entourage synced, with the events being pushed to iCal in a calendar named 'Entourage'.
I would like any 'Entourage' events to be copied and moved to my Google calendar, after which it syncs with the cloud.
Any assistance or advice?

There's a strong element of irony in coming across a solution after doing a search on 'Entourage' and 'Google Calendar' syncing.

The nice thing is you can choose which of your iCal calendars to sync.
I use Entourage to accept meeting requests - iCal used to have trouble with time zones in meeting requests sent from Outlook - so have used the work-around of accepting in Entourage, and syncing it with iCal. This syncing process creates a separate calendar in iCal.
In theory, I could simply use that as my primary calendar - which I haven't thus far, but may well do.
As the synched Google Calendar shows up in iCal, you do end up with duplications showing if you have all calendars visible. So all I've done is hide the visibility of the Entourage calendar (and my other calendars) so that all I see is my GCal.
It's a little clumsy, I'll admit, but it does the job. Which is all a little too Microsoft-ish for my liking

ICal not displaying old (before Oct 2010) entries in List View

I have just noticed this. I don't know if it is a new issue, or one that I have never noticed before. Other views (Day, Month, Week) all show my old entries. Is there a problem?
Edit: I found some other posts listing this problem. It seems as if it is a known issue, but obviously nothing has been done to address it.

Thanks for your response, There is a column in list named EffortDate (Date Time). this is Indexed column in the list and filter criteria is built on this column only. There is no calculation happening on this column, and users are able to edit the values
at any time in the week or following weeks.
I understand screenshots are more helpful in this scenario, but it has client data so i can't provide screenshot too.
Anything that you can suggest based on the provided information that would be really helpful.

Linking Notes and Contacts to Calendar entries

One of the features I loved on the Palm OS was the ability to make a Calendar entry, then link contacts, notes, and documents to the calendar entry. This functionality comes in very handy for scheduling a business meeting, then linking the contact files for everyone who will be attending, along with notes about agenda items, and links to documents I might need to reference.
Is anyone aware of an application that would accomplish this functionality for the iPhone?
If it doesn't exist yet, is there a forum somewhere where end users can make suggestions for the development community? I think this would be a major seller for business and enterprise clients.

Calendar Entries not Displaying Properly in Desktop Outlook 2007

We have 3 employees who have the Palm Treo 750 phone. It appears that since the time change we have started having problems with calendar entries displaying properly on our computer desktop Outlook calendars. So far we have observed the following:
*Calendar entries disappearing from desktop Outlook but still remain on phone. For example, I came in this morning and SOME of my calendar entries for the remainder of this week are gone but they are ALL still showing on my phone.
*If disappearing calendar entries are added back via the desktop Outlook, it accepts but then it displays that appointment TWICE on the phone.
*When accepting meeting requests from the phone, they display on the phone but not on the desktop Outlook calendar.
There are other employees who use their phone to sync with our server for their e-mail, contacts and calendar. All of those are still working fine. None of them however, are using Windows Mobile 6 Professional. One employee is using Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and she can't tell that she is having any problems.

Can not change or delete Calendar Entries in Wiki

Hi all - thx for listening :-)
Situation:
Server OS X 10.6.8
Group Wiki with Calendar running
All users belong to the same group
All users can log in via Safari or Firefox
Wiki calendar running, worked fine over a long period
Several "calendars" (I tend to call them categories; strange wording from Apple here…) were created
Without changes to the system, single users suddenly could not make calendar entries or were able to create one and a second later when trying to change the same entry got the message: "You are not allowed to see this calendar"
We were able to ignore this for some single users for a while but now…
There are calendar entries, mostly repeated weekly dates, that can not be deleted or changed by any user. When we try to delete these, we do NOT get any "deleting from server"-status box, just a blank return to the wiki calender page.
When we try to change the dates (e.g. set a new weekday, repeat-period, category (=calender) etc) , we DO get the "deleting from server"-status box, but the time-wheel keeps on rolling for hours without any impact
What I tried out so far:
• repair permissions
• restart

I finally found a workaround!
1. Locate /Library/CalendarServer/Documents/ and ADD local admin to permissions-list with R/W rights (I did not change the existing permissions to keep the calenderas working in the wiki
2. Transfer permissions to all files in this folder
3. locate the folder /Library/CalendarServer/Documents/calendars/__uids__/wi/ki
4. locate the folder named after the wiki in which you want to change your calenders. Inside of it, you will find subfolders with several .ICS-files.
5. Select one .ics-file and hit space to activate quicklook. quicklook will show you the name and dates of the calendar entry
6. Find the desired calendar entry by moving up/down with the arrow keys and delete it - it will dissapear in the wiki after e browser refresh.
Not really elegant but efficient if you are annoyed by looking at obsolete calendars. :-)

Not all calendar entries sync with desktop & Outlook

I'm running V5 of the DM and the OS on my 8900. I have 4 different email addresses on by blackberry - 2 regular internet email, 1 gmail and 1 facebook. Calendar entries from only one of my internet email address will sync back to Outlook. I just tried a test by entering 3 different calendar entries for later today under the two internet email accounts and the gmail account. Only the one entered on my personal email account synced when I ran desktop synchronization.
I do not use BES
I do not use MS Exchange
Both email accounts are hosted by the same ISP
It used to sync fine until I upgraded to OS 5 from what I remember.
it is very frustrating because many of my calendar entries just never make it to my desktop but I have no apparent problem in the other direction.

I am only showing pre set calendar entries for the year and lost all other calendar entrie and it will not take any new entries. They show up in my outlook, but not on my iphone, which they did before I updated my software to the new i0s7

Before syncing, select each calendar on your Mac and back it up by going to File>Export>Export. If anything goes missing, you can use these to restore your calendars.
Have you tried simply force closing the calendar app on your iPhone? To do this, double-tap the home button, locate the calendar app, then swipe up on the image above the app icloud to close it and tap the home bottom. Then test your calendar again.
