Ical--NOTHING is working, brand new installation

Hi, folks, I had to reinstall my system (brand new installation on erased hard drive). iCal is pulling my synched calendars in. But nothing related to the To Do list is working.
No old to do items show up.
I can't enter new ones.
Most times the to do section isn't being drawn correctly on-screen--sometimes it shows part of the monthly calendar, sometimes it's just black. If a switch views, it only gets worse.

Try doing these steps:
Install Firefox 11 from [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com]. simply install it over your current version of Firefox to make sure all Windows Registry settings get recreated correctly.
Run all Windows Updates. Service packs, etc. You may have to run this several times to ensure that you get all needed updates.
Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. You can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.
Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers].
After doing all these steps, try restarting your computer, and seeing if Pogo will run.
If it doesn't work, go into your control panel, and uninstall every installation of Java and Flash that you have. Restart your computer again, then install them from [http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin_32bit.exe http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin_32bit.exe] for Flash, and [http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=62313 http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=62313] for Java. again, restart your PC, then test.
Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works find in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
If it does not help the issue, open up your Firefox Profile. [[Backing up your information|Backing up your information]] shows you where that is stored by default. Delete or rename the "pluginreg.dat" file (make sure Firefox is closed when you do this). Test again.

Dynaic Link stopped working in new installation

Hi,
I just installed the 64 bit CS5 on a brand new Windows 7 64bit HP PC with plenty of performance power (Windows Experience Index 5.9). Anyway, during the very first use, as soon as I started working, I got the "Dynamic Link has stopped working" error. Why would this happen on a new computer and new installation? Is it something to worry about or that will casue a loss of unctionaltiy?

I have 12 brand new installs of 27" I-Macs, all running Adobe CC. I have several users trying to make simple saves and getting Error -108 Out of Memory errors.

The Mac OS is 10.9.5.
I've already gone into plug ins and Scratch disk preferences and changed the secondary location to the user's hard drive, but this does not solve the problem.
I cannot change the "primary " from Startup, but I did change the secondary to the user's ID instead of None.
These are all brand new Macs in use no more than two weeks.

Windows 7 includes DirectX 11 in its baseline and it is not necessary to install another version of it. Your problems may be caused by the installation of the version of DirectX you installed. Uninstall the one you installed and see if you

Classic option does not work in new installation of Tiger

This problem is in a new installation of Tiger 10.4.6 on a G4 Cube. First I ought to say I am really happy with the Tiger OS. It runs really well on my Cube. The problem is - the Classic option in the System Preference folder will not open. It starts up like it will, tells me I should update the Quicken version to 6.3, and when it has finished opening it flashes a Classic icon in the dock, which just as quickly disappears. I have tried to open it by opening an application that needs it to run, and I have tried to open it with extensions off, with the same result.
I can reboot to OS 9.2.2 and I have done that several times with no problem. I just wonder why the Classic option in Tiger is not working? Could it be a memory problem: not enough? I have 384MB

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I read that there might be a possible extension problem in Classic, and I did try it with the extensions off as you suggested. It still will not start up. I will try again later from a "clean" start, and if all else fails I will call apple support, but I hate to do that as it's a bit like never, never land.

Safari doesn't work after new Installation of Lion

I installed a new SSD into my MBP mid 2009 and put the HDD into the optibay instead of the Superdrive, after that I installed OSX Lion onto the SSD and used the Migration Assisstent to migrate my old User Folder from the HDD with the newly installed OSX Lion. After the migration, everything went well, except of the following:
-Safari doesn't work, no website can be loaded, as soon as I run Safari, there is a process running named "Webprocess" which uses 95% of the CPU and makes the MBP heating.
-VLC Media Player does not work as well
Any idea anyone?

Another problem is:
When I start the Dropbox Application, it uses nearly 90% of the CPU as well, so the mac heats up, in a way that it is not possible to use the dropbox application...
(The Icon of the VLC Media Player only jumps up and down in the dock, and nothing else happens)

Brand New Installation of Snow Leopard Takes A Very Long Time To Log In

Hello All
I installed Snow Leopard onto a friends computer this past weekend and I have run into a strange issue. The computer in question is a Black MacBook 2.16 GHz with 2GB of RAM. The first thing I did was to back up the computer to an external hard drive using TimeMachine. Next, I formatted the drive and zeroed out all of the data. I then installed Mac OS X 10.6 onto the computer. During the initial boot process, I restored the applications, home directory, and misc. files from the TimeMachine backup. The first login took an extremely long time to log in. I figured that the Mac was sorting out the newly restored files and home directory and such and this was probably normal. Then I ran all of the software updates to get the machine completely current. When I rebooted, it took a really long time to log in. I thought maybe the machine was sorting out and installing the new updates (even though it has never taken this long on my MacBook. So I started up from the Snow Leopard install CD and ran DiskUtility and repaired the disk and permissions. Upon another reboot (I timed it this time) it, again, took a very long time ... *8.5 minutes!* I'm at my wits end and am thinking about rebuilding the machine again to see if this build is better. Also, as far as I can tell, the System is working perfectly once I get logged in; no spinning beach ball, hangs, kernel panics or what have you. Also, the machine didn't have this issue before I rebuilt it. Has anybody ever heard of this before? If so, is there a nice fix for it?

Check /System/Library/StartupItems & /Library/StartupItems on the Black MacBook. Any items in either folder is not part of the Snow Leopard install & may be causing the slow starts. Also check System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items, especially if the log in screen comes up quickly & most of the delay is after entering the account password. It is normal to see the iTunes Helper app login item, but any others may be causing the delay, especially if they are not fully compatible with Snow Leopard or are apps that require Rosetta to start up before they will run. The same goes for any items n the "Others" section of System Preferences.

Satellite L450D Webcam not working after new installation without recovery

Hi there,
as posted in the thread title I have a problem with the integrated webcam of a customer notebook. Two days ago the operating system of this laptop was damaged by a virus and needed to be re-installed. I tried to install it with the recovery partition, which did not work. After it I tried to re-built it with the dvd I burned from the recovery partition with the same result.
The only thing that worked was a clean install with a windows 7 64 Bit retail dvd and the key printed on the sticker of the laptop. I managed to get everything working again except one part - the webcam.
No driver installation, bios update and re-installation worked to get this part to work.
Did anyone of you know this problem and have a fix for me?

P.S.: One thing shall be also important. When I look into the installed devices manager the driver for the webcam is listed as usb webcam and the manufaturer of it is Microsoft.

I dont think that this needs to be fixed because I dont think its hardware related issue.
I think there is something wrong with the software on your notebook.
I mean everything worked perfectly until virus has damage the OS. Right?

I really wonder why you could not get this working using Recovery disk.
So possibly this is the key to this issue
On the Toshiba European driver page I could find Registry Patch v1.1 For Win 7 64bit
Also webcam driver v 1.1.1.4 is available there
I think the OS is responsible for your issue possibly some patches are applied or similar

Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).

Execute Package Task Not Working After New Installation VS2012

After installing VS2012 Update 4, the execute package task runs the child package out of order.
The same version of VS is being used as the old computer (same everything, SQL 2012, OS...). The solution works correctly on machines where VS2012 was installed prior to July 2014. I've downloaded the BIDS, SSDT.
Anyone else have the same problem? I have yet to find anywhere on the internet where someone has reported the same issue. It has happened on multiple computers since August 2014.

How to reproduce?
It is not very likely, but did you try searching MS Connect for this issue?

FN key not working brand new today :(

just got my spectre today and I cant for the life of me figure out how to get the FN key working i have checked on the site for some sort of driver for it but there is none so i assume its built into the bios but its not like any bios i have ever seen is there a guru here that can help?
The rest of the machine is amazing and the i7 is sweet as butter just this little problem and i'm going to be the happest spectre owner ever.

SAP ERP Brand New Installation

In my company (relatively a small firm) we want to setup a ECC system in our lab in order to give Demo to our Business Objects customers.
I am thinking to install IDES version so that we will have some out of box tables and data. If we go for a standard ECC installation, the tables (eg:customer,region,material) would be empty and that would be a pain to create data. Am i correct? Or do you have any 2nd opinion.

Brand New Installation of Business Objects XIr2 Application Server

We have recently acquired Business Objects XI r2 as we are in the process of migrating from Business Objects 6.5.1
We currently use BO 6.5.1 on a small scale using Business Query via excel to access a remote Data Warehouse. I beleive we will now use Live Office in the new XI world.
We have acquired licenses for the following components, and I really would like some assistance on how to install them and in which order

Business Objects Live Office
Business Objects Web Intelligence
I have a windows 2003 server in place to host the application, but where do I start ? Which component do I need to install first ?

Hmm, this is Redhat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 - it's basically a 'snapshot' of our existing dev system.
One thing I have seen elsewhere is a problem with the libstdc++ compatability library, but it looks like that's installed (we tried tossing in a copy we had from CentOS, and got:
