ICal on the iPhone???

My wife and I do not own a Apple computer. We are going to purchase iPhones tomorrow. My question is does iCal come with the iPhone? If so can you access your iCal calendar from a non-Apple computer via the internet? We currently use Google Calendar, but would prefer iCal if it was even possible.
Thank you.

iCal is a program that is on Mac computers. The iphone Calendar application can sync to a variety of different calendar programs on your computer.
"You can sync calendars from applications such as iCal and Microsoft Entourage on
a Mac, or from Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007 on a PC. (On a Mac, you can sync
calendars with multiple applications. On a PC, you can sync calendars with only one
application at a time.) "

Is there a way to create an email alert in iCal on the iPhone (as it's possible to do on the laptop)?

    Nope.
You might be able to find another calendar app that can do that in the App Store.
And, you can always leave Apple feedback here -> Apple - iPhone - Feedback

  • Why is there a discrepancy in time between iCal on the computer and iCal on the iPhone?

If I enter an event into iCal from the iPhone, it will be displayed three hours earlier when I access iCal from the computer.  If I enter the event from the computer, it displays three hours later in iCal on the iPhone.  The time zone is set correctly on the computer and on the iPhone.

Is there a way to get an alarm for my events for the iCal on the iPhone 4?

    Greetings,
See page 113 of the iPhone 4 user manual: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
When you add an event to the Calendar.app of the iPhone 4 there is an "Alert" option which should give you the desired result.
    Cheers.

  • I have an iMac with 10.9.1 and an iPhone 5 also updated to the newest system and I cannot get a sync set up between Ical and the iPhone or Outlook 2011 mac calendar with the iphone

I have an iMac with 10.9.1 and an iPhone 5 also updated to the newest system and I cannot get a sync set up between Ical and the iPhone or Outlook 2011 mac calendar with the iphone. I would perfer using outlook but will settle for the Imac calendar

It depends on what iMac you have. If it is an old PPC (G4 orG5) iMac then no further upgrades are possible. If it an Intel iMac:
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
(NB: PowerPC applications can still be run in Snow Leopard using Rosetta, but they will not work in later versions of OS X.)
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes.
You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
You can now upgrade to Mavericks OS 10.9 for free IF you have one of the following Macs, with not less than 2GB of RAM, and at least 8GB of available space on your hard drive:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    iCloud system requirements:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4759
If you cannot run Mavericks you can purchase the code to use to download Lion from the App Store (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard):
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion

  • Weekly View within ical on the iPhone

Please let Apple know that a weekly view on the calendar for the iPhone would be something you would desire.
The below link will help to inform the people at Apple about who is interested so that they can justify making the effort for this to be updated.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
    Thanks!

I also travel white a bit with my iphone. The situation, as I understand it, is that you can enter events on the mac with the time zone specified (i.e., I can enter a conference call at 2 PM CST regardless of my current time zone) and the mac and the iphone will both set the correct event time based on my local time. With time zone support turned on, both the mac and iphone will adjust the event time based my actual time zone so I will call at the correct time (that part works perfectly).
The challenging part is that the iphone will not let me enter events in other time zones. If I happen to be in EST and want to enter an event for 2 PM CST, I have to enter it for 3 PM on the iphone. If I travel to CST, the event will move to 2 PM; if I travel to MST, the event will move to 1 PM so that part also words correctly. The only real problem is the inability of the iphone to schedule events in other time zones without them being manually adjusted, the addition of a time zone field in the event edit screen (just like ical on the mac) would make it much easier to use.

  • Can I see my to do`s list from ical on the iphone?

I use iwork 08 and I allready have a to do list on my ical, but in my iphone after sync I only see my calendar, contacts, etc. but not my to do list. How can i see it?

I use a combination of Toodledo.com (a free online To Do manager, though I upgraded to their $15/yr "Pro" service) and an app for the iPhone called "Todo" (oddly enough) by Appigo. This iPhone app syncs perfectly back and forth to Toodledo.com and of course you can manage your to do list via Safari on your Mac or any browser from anywhere (like Internet Explorer at work, airport, etc). It costs $9.99 from the iTunes store, but its well worth it. Less structured than OmniFocus (which is overkill for me) and works via the web so I can access my data from anywhere on any device.
Also, through Toodledo.com you can subscribe to a shared iCal calendar that contains your To Do list - so, while you can't edit through iCal (must edit on the web at toodledo.com or on your iPhone via Todo or the toodledo.com iPhone-specific webpage), you can SEE your to do list on the side pane of iCal.
Works very well, actually. At the least I can see my to do list when iCal is open, and the web app is very easy to use. And Appigo's iPhone app Todo is very well written and has a great interface. There is also a Dashboard widget you can download that lets you manage your to do list.
And Appigo also has an app called Notebook which also syncs notes back and forth to Toodledo.com ($4.99 I believe from iTunes).
(I have no relationship with Appigo, but I did buy both of these app and I think they're well worth the price).

    Hi ,
According to your description, my understanding is that you could not edit documents with Office client application in SharePoint 2010.
Let’s do a troubleshooting about this issue:
    1. Make sure that you have installed Office application on your machine.
    2. Which explorer did you use for your SharePoint. Please test it with IE 10 32-bit, compare the result.
    3. Please try to reset IE, compare the result.
    4. Add your SharePoint site into Trusted site on your IE options.
    5. Make sure all add-ons related to SharePoint are enable, special for SharePoint OpenDocument Class and SharePointOpenXMLDocuments.
    6. Since you used OWA for your SharePoint site, please try to disable OWA, then open documents with client application, compare the result.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • How do I edit an event in iCal on the iPhone 3G?

I wan´t to edit the time on an event in Calendar on iPhone. Does anyone know how to do that?
    Kind regards, Mikkel

    Mikkel,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I own a first generation iPhone, and am able edit an event by tapping the event and then tapping the "Edit" button, which allows access for changing the details of the event.
If that procedure is not the same for your 3G iPhone, perhaps you can get a better answer in the iPhone Forum : Mail, Contacts and Calendar.

  • Invitations (iCal) on the iPhone

This is a serious bug for me and I hope it will be fixed soon!
I use the iPhone with over the air sync with my business exchange for email, contacts and calendar. I have problems with the calendar sync. Invitations I accept on the iPhone are deleted from the calendar. When I accept them again from outlook it will be added to the exchange calendar, but it will never be synced to iPhone. Invitations directly accepted via Outlook are synced to the Iphone.
Please help, I use the calendar for business purpose.
    Thanks,
    Freddy

But if there were a bug, it should affect me as well. But I can see the logic in assuming it was something in your update. Kind of a PITA (and I don't mean the tasty pocket flatbread), but maybe try a reset. Then instead of restoring from a backup, first try adding your exchange account info and see if the symptom goes away.
If it does, I would bet restoring a backup image makes it come back. So the best bet then would be to add stuff a bit at a time and check the functionality to see if a particular app causes this.
Like I said, a pain, but lacking any other insight, it will let you know if it is in fact 2.2.1 that is doing it for you.
