ICal opens slow and causes other apps to crash
Whenever I open iCal, it takes a very long time for it to load. And, once it does, it is very difficult to maneuver or add/delete any info. If I keep the program open, I'm unable to use any other applications. It makes everything lock up. And, I usually end up force quitting iCal in order to get out of it. My RAM is fine. This problem occurs even when I have no other programs open. I've tried reinstalling iCal, but after it "fixes", the problem keeps returning.

This is not a duplicate of 792342 because several actions make it crash. Some times it crashes at start.
Fire fox has been crashing every day. Actually every hour. After the crash, everything else starts crashing too. It started about 5 days ago.
I've been logging the crashes using aLogRec and aLogCat. I'll try to include the files in this report.
Sadly, I still couldn't isolate the issue for reproduction. Once it crashed at start. Once it crashed using facebook (aparently some javascript bad coding or bad interpretation when clicking the message buttom in facebook's site).
What I surely know that always happends is that I only can use the device again after turning it off and on again (resetting makes it crash from start or loop).We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing. RH8 causing other apps to crash?

I have a colleague (working in another office, so I can't really see this problem first hand) who is trying to install RH8 on a Win7/32 machine (new install, not an upgrade). A member of her IT dept is performing the install.
After the installation of the app and patches is finished, RH seems to work more or less normally (she's new to RH, so her sense of "normal" is rather limited at this stage). The problem is that other applications lock up and crash (she mentioned MS Office apps in particular, but that could be because those are the ones she tends to use the most).
After un-installing RH, the other apps no longer crash.
I've recommended re-installing but skipping the "RoboHelp for Word" piece, but I can't think of anything else.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen a similar situation? I've found other threads that deal with RH crashing or the RH install failing, but I couldn't find any in which RH caused other apps to crash.

Thanks for the suggestions. Like some of the other threads I've found, these seem to deal mainly with RH crashes rather than other apps. But your first link possibly has some overlap as the menu issue it describes also pops up in a thread I found:

This thread includes a scenario in which Outlook and other apps are failing. Additionally, some users were having RH crashes related to the menu bug. Some users found relief by uninstalling source control, others did not. Finally, An Adobe employee posted a fix that corrects issues related to Oleacc.dll which helped some users.
To be thorough, I'll mention that the problems are occurring on a laptop (another thread traced RH crashes to a BioMetric service running on their laptop). And my colleague has the FoxIt PDF utility installed (I don't think this should be the issue here, but perhaps worth a mention.)
I'm going to suggest that they try:
1a. Check the registry to ensure traces of the previous RH install are gone.
1b. Reinstall but omit source control and RH for Word (I think you can skip these during install? I'm no longer allowed to to perform my own installs, so I'm less familiar with the process than I once was.)
2. Ensure patches are installed (version should be 8.02.208)
3. If that doesn't work, try the Oleacc.dll fix.
4. If that doesn't work, try another Win7/32 machine (preferably non-laptop).
5. If all is well on the other machine, I guess it is time to start looking at which non-essential services might be causing a conflict.

I am trying to use the trial creative cloud software on a PC windows 8.1 - I've downloaded and removed Photoshop CC 2014 two times - every time I open the file it says there is a problem and it shuts down and closes. I can open indesign and maybe other apps but photoshop no. Any ideas?

Soo - as mentioned every time I open photoshop it crashes - it just says there's an error and the program will shut down and if there's a solution windows will notify me. Then nothing...
I've tried to look in photoshop files for the detailed crash report & the system event viewer but cannot find a file with those names. I've also looked in the windows files for files with those names but cannot find them either - so I don't know where to look.

I must have done something inadvertently and now if I have more than one application open, the one I click on comes up front and center and the other apps disappear. How do I reset to have them both up and open and viewable at the same time?

App Store says, "Tuner! and 4 other apps could not be downloaded at this time. Please try again later."
How may I appease the Store? The message first appeared a couple of weeks ago and seems to reappear every time I download something from the App Store, be it an update or a new app. I tried re-downloading and re-deleting "Tuner!" (this is the only one whose name I can see), but to no avail. I even tried hiding a whole load of apps from my Purchased list (including Tuner!) in the hope that the five offenders would GO AWAY and stop waiting around being nuisances ;) I haven't noticed them slowing down/stopping my other downloads, so I never paid the pop-up notice much attention, but it is starting to bug me now.

Microphone works fine with Quictime on another mac, so I do know how to use it. The one where it is not working (A) had an external microphone and camera attached earlier, and indeed it does work with that external microphone, but not with the internal microphone selected; and (B) had RealPlayer installed previously.

Extract this driver with Winrar.
Open Device manager and expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
Right click on Either the High Definition Audio Device if you have the generic Microsoft drivers, or the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 if you have older Conexant drivers and choose "Update Driver Software..."
Click Browse my computer for driver software, then click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Click "Have Disk..." then Browse to the folder where the drivers were extracted .......\V64 for 64-bit Vista/Win7. Click OK.
Select one of the "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221" models in the list, there will be multiple identical entries.
Click Next, and you're done.
I'm not sure which one from the list will work for You.

When I plug in my Lacie Firewire 800 drive into my Mid-2009 Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion - 10.8.2, it causes certain apps to crash. Chrome will immediately crash when I open it, so will DVD player. It's only when I plug in my Firewire 800 drive, USB does not cause issues. What's the deal?
I've restarted, verfied the disk, repaired permissions, smc reset.. don't know what else to do..Contact Lacie since it's their product you are having issues with.

My wife and I share this iPad and we have apps purchased under two different store accounts on this machine. I have tried to log off and sign in with her account and then check updates but with either account I am told that all apps are up to date. All of our credit card info is current. This is an iPad 1 - I've had it since it first came out (ordered directly from Apple). Lots of apps and purchases over the years. My wife got her own WiFi only iPad shortly after mine as she fell in love with it and I don't share well. ;) This only started about 7-10 days ago. I did not update to iOs 5.1 until last night so this predates that. My concern is that when the iPad 3 arrives next Friday that this will transfer over.

What is "wrong" with your Apple ID?
Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod. -

I had this problem for about six weeks. I was following this forum but was too unsure of what might happen to try the fixes that were suggested.
About two weeks ago I decided to delete the downloads.28.sqlitedb file (usingDiskAid(a free program), on a PC running Windows 7). The original downloads.28.sqlitedb was 936 KB. The new one that the system created is 80 Kb., and has stayed at about that size. After about four days I also deleted all the other contents of the Download folder. Ten days later and still no more problems. Downloads are much quicker, nothing greys-out (as was happening frequently before).
Everything has worked well since with no more error messages.
I am using an iPod 4G, iOS 5.1 (originally iOS 5.0). I do not have a manifest file, and as far as I know, have not had one. DiskAid can search the whole "hard drive" on the iPod.
Deleting downloads.28.sqlitedb and the contents of Downloads worked for me.
