ICal pops up automatically when edited reminder on iPhone

hi,
I have calendars/reminder on iCal and iPhone synced to the same iCloud account. The problem is that whenever I finish editing a reminder item on my iphone, the desktop iCal automatically opens (app previously closed).
Why and how to solve?
Thanks,

I'm not sure if this is it, however the only time that I can duplicate what you describe is if I close Safari without another web page open. In other words, if you close all the pages and leave a new blank page open, then press the home button to close Safari, then next time you open it, it will your bookmarks. I believe this is the correct function, as it expects you to open something from the bookmarks. If you are viewing a page, and then press the home button to close Safari, it should not automatically bring up the bookmarks.

  • Suddenly, my password is popping up automatically when I sign onto my e-mail account, and I do NOT want this!

For years, I would be required, when signing onto my Yahoo e-mail account, to type in my password every time. Now, it pops up automatically...and I CANNOT have this. I tried disenabling cookies, etc., but the problem persists. Help, please!

    Find the stored passwords<br/>
    Preferences > Security > Saved passwords<br/>
and delete it. If it asks next time whether to save it, say no.
If that doesn't work (not sure how yahoo does it) <br/>
    Preferences > Privacy > Remove individual cookies<br/>
enter 'yahoo' at the top and delete any cookies containing it. (Or delete all cookies.)

  • On my MBP iTunes won't start automatically when I connect my iPhone or iPad?

Today I encountered the following problem om my MBP:
When I connect my iPhone 3GS or iPad on the MBP, iTunes (v10.2.2) doens't launch automatically.
After self-starting iTunes I can synchronise and so on.
Can somebody tell how I can change this behaviour?
The iTunes-option "Voorkom automatische synch.... van iPods, ..." --> "do not automatically sync ... iPods, ..." isn't enabled.
    Many thx

Hmmm..uninstalled, reinstalled, ran Software Update...something patched in iTunes, now works like a charm

  • To to get new Photos to not open automatically when I plug in iphone/ipad

    Hi,
Photos is probably better than iPhoto for personal images, BUT:
I need to make the new Photos app not open automatically every time I plug in an iPhone or iPad or camera into the computer.
I take a lot of photos for work and I import those through the Image Capture App which allows me to import photos into a specific set folder - not my photos folder.
Also, related, how do I make iTunes not automatically open when I plug in the iphone/ipad.  I keep my music on one computer and not on my work computer, so it is annoying when I plug an iPhone or iPad into the work computer and it automatically opens iTunes.
Finally, what happened to the delete function on the Image Capture app?  It was so easy - import a bunch of photos into a certain folder, then delete those photos off the device through Image Capture.
Apple, by forcing us to use your consumer products, you are making it so inconvenient for pros who want more control over our process and file structure!

In iPhoto>Preferences>General, set Image Capture as the default camera handler.

In iTunes (with the device pugged in) Preferences, disable the 'Open iTunes when device is plugged in' option.

It's still there (on my Mac)

We are just Apple users (like you), we did not do anything. (Including forcing you, nobody did that)
Perhaps you would like to complain to Apple instead of us?  Send Feedback to Apple here.

  • Itunes does not open automatically when I plug in iphone?

ITunes does not open automatically when I put my device via the USB cord into my computer.  Even though I checked that box in I tunes

    1. open up applications, and right click the itunes icon.
    2. select 'show package contents'
    3. open the contents folder
    4. open the resources folder
    5. scroll down until you find the ItunesHelper icon.
    6. Now open up your system preferences.
    7. select accounts
    8. select login items
    9. now drag the ItunesHelper icon into the login items screen
    10. This will now put the ituneshelper app into the startup items.

  • Pop up message when editing pictures form Lightroom 5

I think I might know what the answer to this is but I want to just check also, to be safe. I am an automotive photographer and a lot of times when I export pictures I export them 1 at a time but 3 times because I have 3 different brands watermarks I have to attach. So when I do my exporting I set up my folders on my desktop one for each company and when I export I like to drag each into the folder right when they export so they don't get mixed up. Sometimes when I do this i get a error message that pops up which I will attach the image below as (1) i think this is because they aren't completely finished exporting and when i drag them into the folder the file looks like what I will attach as (2).I only get the pop up when i drag and drop them while they look like the second photo icon on my desktop. So my questions are
Does dragging it before it is fulling exported(if thats the issue) affect quality?
Is there a way to make this box disappear from popping up each time?
is there a better way to go about exporting my pictures?
    thanks steve

Sounds to me like you are doing this in your operating system, and this is the problem. You should not move photos or the folders that contain them in your operating system. To fix this, either move the photos (using your operating system) back to EXACTLY where they were, or re-connect in Lightroom using these instructions: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders
Better approach, which avoids these problems, is to use keywords or collections in Lightroom to segregate the photos from each company, then export. Since you haven't actually moved the photos, Lightroom is happy, and the export works properly.

  • Why does iphoto open automatically when I sync my iphone with my iMac?

I have an iphone 3GS, Version 6.0.1 that I sync with my iMac 10.6.8.  I have updated iTunes (11.0.1).  When I am syncing my iphone, iphoto automatically opens before iTunes, even though the "photos" setting is deselected.  How do I stop this?

Depending on the system if you go to iTunes on an Macintosh ( iTunes >  Preferences > General Preferences > Devices.
Look for an option to check near the bottom called prevent iPod's, iPhones, iPads from automatically syncing.
Windows the only difference is Edit > Preferences.

  • Bookmarks Open Automatically When Launching Safari on iPhone

I have searched for a solution to this, but have not been able to find one. I don't believe my iPhone always operated like this. When I open up Safari, the bookmarks automatically pop up. I don't want this to happen. Is there a way to turn this behavior off? If so, please let me know how.

  • ITunes does not open automatically when I connect my iPhone 4.

Yes......I have checked off the necessary box on the "home page".
iTunes DOES open when I connect my iPod.
    Any ideas?

plug your phone into iTunes, check the box to prevent syncing, unplug the phone, plug it back in, then uncheck the box again, then disconnect and shut down iTunes, plug in your phone and it should automatically open

  • How do I get iTunes to NOT CONNECT AUTOMATICALLY when I plug my iPhone into my computer?

I just want to charge my iPhone.  Having iTunes load everytime I plug it in slows my computer until iTunes is fully loaded, which takes a while on my older computer.  For some reason, I am unable to find an answer to this simple question!
    I appreciate the help!

Just so i understand.  It happens when i connect my Ipad or Iphone, which i want to stop.  I'm cool with it opening when I connect my camera tho.  Can i customize it that way (just to open for my camera, and NOT my i-devices) ?

  • IPhone: iPhoto opens automatically when I connect my iPhone

I am using new 3G iphone and MacBook Pro. Whenever I plug in cable to sync, iPhone opens. This happens even though I am not syncing or using photos in master settings on iTunes. Can anyone explain? Thanks, Gary

Your computer is supposed to recognize your iphone as a digital camera. This is how you get photos off of you iphone and onto your computer.
As noted before you can set your computer to do nothing when a camera (iphone) is connected.

  • Viewing calendar when editing event date

    Hi all
I'm sure this is a question that has been asked before but I've not been able to figure the correct search terms.
I'm a fairly new iCal user..
When editing an event, I want to be able to pop-up a calendar to select a date from. At the moment I can type the date but can't seem to figure out how to bring up a little calendar to select one from.
    Tips please?
    Cheers
    Craig

    cptmidnight wrote:
lower left hand corner- mini calendars click it and begin
This shows me a calendar but if I click on that while editing an event it takes me to that date and aborts my edit.
The question is question - can iCal let me select dates, while editing, from a small pop-up calendar? Instead or having to type them in?

  • ITunes isn't launching automatically when I connect iPhone

I have the box checked off to launch automatically when I connect my iPhone, but it is not launching automatically.  I have to open up iTunes.

From the iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Devices tab.
Deselect: Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically
    Click OK.
