ICal - printer playing hide and go seek

I am trying to print off lesson plans using iCal. I have them set up as all day events, but when it prints it only prints the first line of each week. List version does not work, because I really need it in calendar view. Thanks SO much for your help!

E71 Funky analogue clock and playing hide and seek...

Hi all,
I just purchased my E71 last night and everything is going alright until today when I noticed two things.
My analogue clock displays an upside down "12" where the number "3" should be, even though the time is correct. What gives?
Also, even though this may not seem important but I distinctly remember setting the way a ringtone would sound as it rings... you know, like a loop or surround...something like that and I chose random. But now I don't like it and for the life of me I just CAN'T find where to turn that option off!!

So, considering the 'upside down number twelve', it is in fact 21, ie today's date.
The loop sound can be turned off in Media/3-D tones.

Field response playing Hide & Seek.

Hi,
I am using Acrobat Pro X to create a form. This was distributed and some of the respondants replied with some problems.
Problem 1: Field responses.
Respondents replied they filled in every field. But I saw some missing.
It was only when I clicked onto the fields that I would SEE the filled responses.
Their seemingly missing response was shown in the tracker. Just not directly on the form.
Why is this so?
I should be able to read on the response file everything that the respondant wrote onto the fields. But it seems like some of the field responses are playing hide & seek.
Problem 2: Missing information
Some respondants said they completed the form but when they saved it, only half of the answers were saved.
Is it NORMAL to have these glitches with form distribution?
How can I solve those problems?
Do I need to re-create the original form from scratch? Or, update my program (version 10.1.0)

re: Problem 1: Does it mean that by using Apple instead of Adobe Reader that the user changed the setting so that when I read the form (using adobe pro) that I'd still couldn't see the response directly on the form but only when I click on it that it would show up?
re: Problem 2: Is there a general solution that I could use to avoid having future problems? Because I will not know how to solve the problem even if I knew what application they used... as it seemed it<s a case-by-case solution and I'm not an expert in this area...
Any general solution for this problem would be appreciated.

ICal printing bug and workaround

iCal 8.0 (2026) OS X 10.10 French
When I try to print a calendar and in my iCal preferences "start week on" is set to monday, the printed calendar starts with tuesday
and when I try to print a calendar and in my iCal preferences "start week on" is set to sunday, the printed calendar starts with monday.
In my case, to set "start week on" to sunday is a workaround.

This issue is driving me nuts. Apple doesn't seem to care. I reported the issue to Apple the day Yosimite was released and a fix has not been in any of the updates.
Note also that the calendar does not print correctly from iCloud in weekly view.
Another issue is that you cannot print the date of the printing of the calendar. Often I print several calendars a week and by Sunday I don't know what is the latest copy printed. I have asked them to fix that as well.

Printer Queue - How can I hide print job title and username?

Does anyone know if it is possible to hide print job title and username in the printerqueue?
Because of our privacy agreement we would like to hide this information,

Not the user name but the job name is changed to Print Document when the print jobs are sent to Server 2012 and 2012R2.
There is no Windows feature like this in 2008R2. There are third party products that include job rename features for 2008R2

After having printed 4½ A4-pages the actual print is stopped and replaced by playing card symbols .

Problem with HP PhotoSmart 5524e Problem no 1After having printed 4½ A4-pages of say a six pages document the actual print is broken and replaced by a print of playing card symbols. After some pages with such symbols it begins to wright something which looks as horizontal icicle's "hanging" from the left side of the page. The printout finishes by writing a totally black page which use to cost me an black inc XL-cartridge. Have tried with an other 5524 an get exactly the same problem. Hp support had tried to help without any success. I also got the same problem using three different computers, all of them with Windows 8.1.1. HP support think that downgrading to delivery status (Win 8.0) on all three computers and then upgrade again should fix the problem. It should means some hundred ours of meaningless work for me because I have about 80 programs of different age installed which has to be repathced etc. and I don´t believe that it solves the problem. What can I do about it? Problem no 2A probably wrong error flag comes up during 15 seconds sporadically (15 to 30 minutes in between) saying; "Scanning to computer not possible any longer". In spite of this message it is still possible to use the printer over WIFI (with the limitation mentioned above). With reference to HP support comes this problem from incompabillity between different HP-units, connected to the same computer or router. Due to HP support should a downgrade and upgrade of my three computer fix HP:s incompability problem between the different units from HP. A statement I have difficulty to believe in. Problem no 3Some seconds after a printout you can hear some mechanic activity from the printer ending with a sound like a machine gun. Same behaviour from both tested printers. This problem occurs within 1 to 500 hours in between.I bought this printer almost a year ago (2014-08-19) and so far I have not been able to print any document larger than 4 pages as well as it very often is difficult/impossible to start a scan to computer from the computer. During my tests I have expended three sets of XL-inc cartridges which together represents the cost of three printers. Unfortunately my hp coputer crashed when trying to install Windows 10 from Windows 8.1.1. I made the same thing from my hp laptop which had the same OS installed and it takes me less than one our and it work perfect. I now having spent abot 40 hour and hp 4 hour with remote control of my pc in an attempt to install Win 10. It all ended up in a black screen and the compputer sent for repair to hp. For that reason I have not jet been abel to tests your sugested solution, but I will as soon I have my computer back.

It appears to be a bug with the current build. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next release.

ICal won't sync with iCal from other computer and .Mac

I am trying to snyc my ical on my desktop with the ical on my laptop. I use my ical on my laptop most often so its data is most upto date, but I would like to have it so that no matter which one I look at its the same, and if I change something on one it will update on both.
I thought that is what would happen with .Mac and syncing. But when I try to sync my desktop it says that it won't sync the calander because of inconsist data, but it won't tell me what they are.
It says to confirm that your computer's data is valid, (its not, but how do I confirm or not?). Then it says to reset calendars on .Mac in the system preferences when I try to do that it gives me an icon of computer and .mac, and an arrow saying in what direction I'm assuming data will go. I choose .mac, to computer and it still comes up with the same problem.
So how do I fix? Once I fix will it merge data on both or will it always be thinking take the .mac data and replace it? It scares me when it says are you sure you want to do this and its changable if you do. I don't want to loose the data on my laptops calander.
Is there a way to clear my desktop ical, and then sync it and get my laptop's data and start from scratch? And then do mutual merges after that?
It says to check that my info on the computer is correct and then to reset it in .mac preferences. The data on the desktop isn't correct but even if I reset, it won't

I'm having massive problems with syncing via .mac with two local Macs - nothing I have tried has worked as yet and it's currently under investigation with a .mac specialist.
I did used to get the 'inconsistent data' warning but that has somehow disappeared - now I don't get any warnings and .mac says both Macs are synced but I get nothing updated to iCal from either direction...
So I don't as yet have an answer but just to let you know that if you get in touch with Apple they will support you with finding an answer.

Note that iSync also plays a large part, not just .mac and iCal - you need to 'reset sync data' in iSync/preferences.

2) Click the Sync tab.

4) Select the data types you wish to sync. Click Sync Now.
5) If you are asked, "What would you like to do for this first sync?", select "Replace data on this computer" and click Sync. You may have to do this for each data type that you are syncing. This will replace the data on the computer with the data that has been synced to .Mac.
I recommend that you add the computers one at a time, confirming each time that syncing is working correctly. To confirm that syncing is working, make a change in one of the data types you are syncing, then perform a sync from the first computer. When that syncing is finished, perform a sync on the second. If syncing is successful, add a third computer, and so on.

Add Device sees wireless but printer is wired and can reach the HTTP page on wire

I installed my new Officejet 8000 Pro A809 with an ethernet but when I run the HP "Add Device" Wizard, it trys to install it as wireless even though I select wired and the install fails.
I can see the http page for the printer and it shows all sane information about my printer so I believe the ethernet is actually working.
I am running WinXP with the FW off. The printer is on the same switch as my PC & of course I can see the http page
In the wizard, although I selected "Wired" of course the wire is working, the "Found Network Printers" page shows that its connection is wireless. None-the-less I click next and a screen comes up for "Starting Network Services" & it rolls though topology, wireless strength, etc. and to sending an SLP request to the IP then it fails & shows an picture of a wireless signal and a big red X.
The HP Home Network Diagnostics Utility says that software to connect to printer over network is missing BUT I ran the Wizard all the way though a second time, I selected that my device was not online and it finished OK. I ran the UPDATE from the Utility & it did a security update; I rand it again and it did not find any.
Although my FW is off, I checked the ports that the FW Guide says are needed:
I can telenet to the printer on ports 9100 & 92200
I cannot telnet on ports 137,139 or 427

OK, plugging the Ethernet cable into the printer should turn off the printer's wireless radio, but in case it did not, click the button near the blue light (or go to Setup > Network > Turn off wireless radio on the front panel).
Now, don't bother with the Add Device wizard, let's just add it manually:
Verify that you can browse to the printer's internal web page by its IP address. If you cannot, disable your security system's firewall (not Windows firewall, it is usually not in the way).
1. Click "Start" button --> Printers and Faxes.
2. Under Printer Tasks, click "Add Printer".
3. Click "Next" button on the Add Printer Wizard window.
4. Select "Local printer attached to this computer". Deselect "Automatically detect and install My Plug and play printer". Click "Next".
5. Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next" button.
6. In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to same network that your computer is connected to. Click "Next" button.
7. Under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the printer's IP address. Click "Next" then click "Finish".
8. Now, select HP from the list of manufacturers, select your printer from the list of Printer models and click 'Next' button.
9. If you can't find your printer, you'll need to find the install CD and use the "Have Disk" option to select one of the hp*.ini files. Alternatively, you can select another HP printer model from the same type.
10. Add the print spooler name and click "Next".
11. Click "Next"
12. Click "Next" and then "Finish"

Why does ical print out starting tuesday?

Why does ical print out staring the week on tuesday?
Maybe the week starts one day later for the Yosemite dev team, but certainly not in my neck of the woods.
The actual print out also looks nothing like the new matt and 'flat' graphic style of Yosemite.
I suggest you start on monday next week and sort these issues out.

Ical print scripting

Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows how to write a script to make ical print out my scedual for the week. I have looked up scrpts for prtining and saving and all that stuff and i can get them to run both as applications and scripts in new events in my calender but i do not know how to make it print out the scedual. I assume that i would have to first save the calender and then print it so im lost. Thanks for the help -mike

It would not, I think, be an easy task. There is no way, AFAIK, to ask iCal to save the equivalent of the week display as a separate file. It would be possible to do it with GUI scripting, but this is not easy and generally not considered reliable.

Unplug the printer, and uninstall it. Then download the Windows 7 CP1215 plug and play driver package from www.hp.com. Install the printer using that package.

My dad told me he had this 'no selection' problem when he wanted to print out a selection in Hotmail, so I had a hunt around, but didn't find a definitive solution.
So, I have done some playing around, and have come up with this solution which works if you want to print out a selection in Hotmail (using firefox), but it is now greyed out.
It seems to be connected with the way that Hotmail handles frames.
(Thought I would post it as posts like this have helped me a ton in the past :0))

1/ On the email you want to print click the small Printer icon in the hotmail menu.
There is no need to highlight a selection at this stage because the email is in a frame, so it will do no good anyway.
2/ A new page will open up and the printer dialog box will open up.
Close the printer dialog box.
3/ Highlight the text selection that you want to print on that page.
4/ Press Ctrl-P on the keyboard.
5/ The printer dialog box will now pop up again and you will be able to choose 'Selection'
Your selection will now print.
