ICal prints in portrait view . .

Hi, I've recently installed leopard on my macbook pro that I purchased a year ago. I've just tried to print a weekly calendar and it is printing in portrait mode so half of the page is getting cut off on the side. I don't know how to go about fixing this problem.
Any help is appreciated!

A similar issue affects our Phaser 7300. We attempt to print landscape from iCal and it chops off the edge - the calendar is moved about an inch too far to fit onto the paper. I've tried making a PDF as well and it does the same thing printing via Preview. Even if I select portrait. However it prints fine to our Samsung B/W. Both printers are networked. And in every instance it appears fine in the print preview. I've also tried printing the PDF from Acrobat and it does the same thing. Whatever the problem is, it is originating in iCal.

  • Print iCal Calendar - ? Portrait View

Is there a way to print my iCal Calendar in Portrait View other than saving it as a .pdf file & then printing?
I cannot find the Portrait - Landscape options when printing in iCal.
    Many thanks!

    sp_64,
Are you found of the Month View look. Because you can print in list view and add more days. How many days you can print on a page depends on the details and how many events you have. But it will give you your location information. I will continue to look into it but that is what I've found so far.
    Hope that helps,

  • ICal print in weekly view doesn't begin from monday but tuesday

    Hello,
I faced a problem while trying to print a weekly view of my calendars. Even though I have adjusted the calendar in the setting so that the week starts from monday, every time I try to print a weekly view of my calendars, the weekly view is is alway for the dates Tuesday - Monday, NOT Monday - Sunday. I tried choosing in the printing view that the printing would start from the date 27th of october (monday), but instead, the first date on output was always Tuesday (28th). The same happened when i chose that area printed starts from next week - it starts it again from Tuesday not Monday.
    Any help for this?

    epee91,
What setting do you have in System Preferences...>Language & Region>First day of week:?

  • ICal Printing in 10.5, Why Can't we print in Tall/Portrait

iCal is a very good and simple calendar, but, but, but...........
Still very, very disappointed that we cannot print iCal in the tall/portrait view.
This is s very, very normal page set-up that allows us to print for our 8.5 x 11 notebooks, binders and folders.
Would prefer Apple makes this normal function available in iCal without having the work-arounds that many suggest.

You can make suggestions to Apple regarding Mac OS X by submitting feedback here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
Given that Apple has shown no indication that they are interested in supporting multiple themes, and it's been requested since Mac OS X first came out, it's unlikely that they'll change that anytime soon. But you can ask.

  • Printing Normal Portrait Layout in iCal

    Am I mssing something?
How do you print my iCal weekly layout in the "Normal" portrait layout?
Would like to print on "normal" 8.5x11 paper and put in 3 ring binder.
There MUST be a easy way to do this?

    Jack,
    try this:
    Choose File/Print (command-P).
In the print dialog, change View to "List". Change "Starts" to "On Date" and set to the first day of a month. Change "Ends" to "On Date" and set to the last day of a month.
Down at options, unset all checkboxes for data you don't want to print. Choose "Continue".
Unfortunately you cannot save these settings, so you have to repeat the steps every time you want to print your calendar this way.

  • In Ical, can you print a list view calendar without notes?

In Ical, can you print a list view calendar without notes?

    cj,
After selecting Calendar>File>Print...> I am presented with a Print selection pane which offers among other choices, a "List" selection:
    What do you see?

  • I was able to print my month view from ical, but no longer is "month" an option. I can only see list and day. Please advise!

Just curious...about two weeks ago I was able to print my ical calendar in month view. For some reason, "month view" is no longer an option in print mode. The only two options I have are day or list. Not sure how to print in month view now or retreive that back. Please advise : )

Be sure Safari does not have the Block Pop-Up Windows preference set.
Where I work now there are several unencrypted VLANs that require authentication, and Safari promptly pops up a window for me to register every time.

  • ICal Print List - Why are to-dos randomly sorted?

When printing from iCal in the list view, my To-Do List is NEVER sorted the way I sorted it in the main iCal window (whether by Calendar, Priority, or Manually). Instead it's just sorted randomly, which is very unorganized.
Does anyone know why this is, or what can be done to fix it?

It sounds like from your description that you're entering a date as a string in the todo description. Ideally you should be entering the date as the due date. This will help the sort order both in iCal and when printing. When you decide to print the To Do List, make sure View is set to List. Only check To Dos. In the time range, select the range you want to see. Anything without a due date will be printed under the heading To Dos without Due Date.

  • ICal print format

I've used Now Up-to-date for over ten years. I would like to switch to iCal, totally, except I can't make it print the way I want it to so it will fit into my planner. I want to see a month, printed landscape on an 8.5x11 sheet, split down the center to be punched with 7 holes to go into my planner. If I do this now, I split Thursday in half (a real pain).
    Thanks,
    DL

Hi macshine and all others that wanted to figure this one out,
This one plagued me as well and through 15 different threads giving old info that is no longer relevant I finally figued it out.
You need to create an 8.5x8.5 paper size.  From Safari or most any program (except calendar) select print.  In the printer options there is a pull down menu called "paper size".  It's most likely already selected "US Leter".  Select "Mange Custom Sizes" and create a new paper size.  Call it whatever you want.  Make the paper size 8.5in x 8.5in and hit okay.
What you are doing is tricking the progam with this option.  If you made a 8.5 in wide by 11 tall paper size it would still set it up in landscape.  When you select your new square option it throws it off and forces everything into a 8.5 inch wide page.  Now go back to the paper size pull down menu and select US letter.  Don't know why, but it now lays eveything out in portrait mode.  You will need to select your square paper size first and then the US letter size everytime you want to print in portrait.
    I hope this helps.

  • Help: event times not printing in month view

... and yes, I have checked "show time in month view" in preferences, and the event times display on the screen. But on the monthly printout, the times do not appear, only ellipses where the time should be. There should be plenty of space for the information to print, there is white space both at the end of the event line and in the day box. But no times show up at all.
System data: Mac Mini, OS X 10.4.2, iCal 2.0.3 (1055), Brother MFC 7820N printer.
This is really awful... I just switched my wife over to the Mac Mini, and calendaring is a big part of what she needs. And she uses month views a lot. If I can't fix this, she'll probably throw the Mac Mini back in my face and I'll be sleeping on the couch. Yes, she cares that much about times printing in month views.
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I don't know whether this a "solution" or a work-around, but I did find a way to resolve this problem. I recently started using iCal by transferring appointments from a BlackBerry using the BlackBerry PocketMac software. Although all of the appointment times appeared on the monthly calendar, most of the appointment times were replaced by ellipses when the monthly calendar was printed. It turns out that the times would print only after re-entering the appointment manually. This had to be done completely from scratch, i.e., not by editing the original appointment, or by cutting and pasting the appointment back into the calendar. This is a complete pain, but seems to work. I'd love to hear a better solution...

  • ICal Printing

Hello, I was wondering, if logging into me.com from an HP, is there a way to print your monthly view calendar in iCal from the me.com site with it being only the calendar portion? Right clicking does nothing. I guess I'm just wondering from a non-mac, is there a way to print out your monthly, daily, weekly calendar in good form?
    Thanks for your help.

    rosemary,
It depends upon the brand of printer that you have.
    1. Choose Print.
    2. Select a 12 month period in Time range____
    3. Select Continue.
    4. Select Layout or other appropriate choice for your printer.
    5. Select "Pages per Sheet" or other appropriate choice for your printer. I had to choose 16 for my printer.
    6. Print.
    ;~)

  • Printing in Month View - Getting rid of times

When I print in month view, I have annoying times next to my events. I don't want any times associated with my events, and they're not all day, so I don't want to have to click that option either. Is there a way that only the evens will print?

Select a calendar. Set on month view. Select i (info) in the lower right corner. On the info screen or section that should appear at the left side of the calendar, select the "color" rectangle. From the pop up menu select "other." On the color selection block that appears, select the multicolored circle that appears at the upper left. Position your pointer in the center of the circle and click. This will turn the color bar to as near white as you can get it. Close the color block and the info screen. At the iCal drop down menu select "preferences." "general." Near the bottom of the General screen unselect "Show time in the month view." Now, with your printer set on black and white, the "all day" events in the month screen will print without the time stamp. They will be slightly grayed out, but will should be legible, especially if you are printing at size medium or large. I have not found a way to completely eliminate the gray-out.

  • Iphoto printing - preview is landscape, but prints out portrait

This is a recurring issue when I print photos.  The preview shows a landscape oriented picture, but it prints in portrait orientation. How do I correct this?
The settings for the current photo are as listed:
    Brother MCF-J425W
    US Letter
    Color
    Aspect Ratio: Custom
    Photo Size: 4.8 x 6.8
    iPhoto 9.6
    OX S Yosemite

    Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try printing again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

  • Ical - Printing the Colour Bubbles/Blocks

    HI ya,
How does one print Ical so that it prints in full the bubble block colours and not just a thin bar line to the left???
(I can't even get a screen shot because you have the scroll thru)
    Cheers
    Mistique

    jjraabe,
If you go to iCal>Print...>View, you can select "List." Would that be what you are looking for, or do you want to get rid of the calendar grid lines?
If you want to get rid of the calendar grid lines, I do not think that is possible.
