Hi,
Can i publish iCal calendars on IIS Webdav directory with SSL configuration on an other port than default 443 ???
I try to publish on this server and this work for:
- "http" site
- "https" site with ssl port 443
but no with "https" site with ssl port 445 for example.
my publication url is "https://myserver.com:445/calendars/"
Where is the problem???
Thanks.

  • ICal server won't work with SSL certificate

I'm running Leopard Server 10.5.7, and have a GoDaddy SSL certificate installed on the server, which is working fine in Apache, but not for iCal server.
In the Security Certificates section of Server Admin, the certificate shows up properly with the correct hostname, with the correct authority (i.e. not self-signed). I can use the certificate for one of my SSL websites, and it works fine, no browser errors, all works great.
However, if I use Server Admin to enable SSL for iCal server and then select my GoDaddy certificate from the "Certificate" dropdown, the dropdown immediately changes to "Custom Configuration." So I save changes and stop/start the iCal service.
Then I took my iCal clients (which were all working fine without SSL), and in 'Server Settings,' I changed the server address to https (instead of http), and port 8443 (instead of port 8008). But then when I refresh the calendars, iCal throws an error saying:
"Unexpected secure name resolution error (code -9844). The server name may be incorrect."
When I set everything back to the way it was before I started, all works fine.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

Your problem seems similar to this thread:

  • ICal managed client with SSL

    Hi folks,
I already crawled the forum, inet and other sources but I still got no solution nor feasible workaround for a managed client to use iCal with SSL.
My mac mini is on SL server 10.6.7 and I configure iCal in server admin to use SSL on port 8443 with a self-signed certificate.
For address book this approach is working fine unfortunately it doesn't help with iCal.
My managed client is setup after binding to the server with address book on SSL and iCal without SSL on port 8008.
What the heck do I need to configure in order to get my managed clients setup automatically to iCal SSL?
Please help me. I'm really desperate.
    Thanks,
    Manolo

Can someone provide me with a hint?
Always if I connect my network account to the SL server iCal is setup to use http on port 8008.
    thanks

  • In Formscentral: is the form SECURE with SSL even if my existing website does not have SSL?

I plan to embed my new form with html into my existing website. My website does not have SSL. I would like my new form to be SSL secure (will have credit card numbers.) Will the upgraded plan provide this security?

When a form is embedded the submission is protected with SSL. You shouldn't collect credit card information using FormsCentral because the service is not PCI compliant. You should instead use our new integration with PayPal - it supports credit cards and paypal account payments. The credit card info is processed by paypal and they are PCI compliant.

  • I need to host a website with a SQL database - Azure pricing details are too confusing

    Hello,
I need to give a potential client a hosting price for a somewhat simple web application they want me to build. I told them it shouldn't be a problem. After gathering the requirements, I figured I would use the following technology to build and host
    it:
    ASP.NET 4.5
    MVC 5
1 SQL Database ~ 25GB with options to expand and also with a backup
    SSL certificate needed
Hosting would be on Azure because I have some experience using Visual Studio 2012 and integrating the Visual Studio Online (TFS) source code and scrum web applications. I've never actually spun up a website with a SQL database using Azure before, but I
imagined it wasn't too difficult to find a general hosting plan to support the above requirements.
The use of the website will be very simple and limited to the basic CRUD operations. Will support forms authentication using the Identity 2.0 framework. The web applications main purpose is to fill out a form for new accounts, have a search page for
those accounts, a page to view a created account and add notes to it. So performance wise, it isn't asking for much. I just want it to be fast and secure.
So I start looking on the Azure's pricing landing page which is here: (can't put links in here, but search Azure pricing on Bing) and I see this Pricing Calculator, so I click it
First thing I notice is the Websites tab doesn't mention SQL Database - in fact the Data Management is a separate tab from Websites. And if I made my selections on the Websites tab, the estimated monthly price doesn't stay the same when I go to the Data
Management tab - so I get the illusion I have to have two separate purchases.
I'm not exactly sure if the Pay as You Go billing feature would be okay because it's just a bit scary to leave every monthly payment up to chance; somewhat. Would love to know if there is other payment options that I could see for what I described above.
I want to use Azure to host my asp.net website - it makes sense and the integration with Visual Studio is amazing. I love the publish feature for both MVC 5 Projects and SQL Database Projects.
Thanks in advance for the help!

    Hello jdevanderson,
I suggest that you start by looking at the pricing TIERS for the Azure website. This link will give you clarity on different Service TIERS that are availaible:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/pricing/details/websites/
You can guage your requirement and choose the Service TIER accordingly.
And regarding the database, you are right about it. You will be charged seperately for the database. You can refer to this link that will give you clarity on SQL database pricing:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/pricing/details/sql-database/
Refer to this link for more information on 'How pricing works':
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/pricing/
Use the full calculator to add your website and the database to get an estimated cost:

  • Crystal Reports export and print fails with SSL / https but works with http

    Windows 2008 Server, 32-bit (IIS7)
    ASP.NET 2.0
    Ajax 1.0
    Crystal Reports version 10.5.3700.0
    http:  printing works, export works
https:  printing not working, only export to MS Excel and MS Word work.
I am able to generate reports using both http and https, and the toolbar icons are all showing.  However, I am unable to print or export properly with SSL.
Printing prompts me with a select printer window, and then a window 'Retrieving Page 1' follow by two messages from Crystal Print Control both stating:
A communication error occured.  Printing will be stopped.
Exporting generates various errors depending on which export method is being selected (however Excel and Word work over https).
I've found the same problem on this site and other forums, but never a resolution to get exporting and printing to work with SSL.  Will someone please provide me assistance or possibly relay what settings they're using if they have Crystal Reports export or printing working over SSL in IIS7?  Everything works fine when I change the address from https to http.
Please let me know if I can help by providing further information.  We've gone through a great deal of possible solutions with code and I'm currently looking in to IIS settings again.
    Thank you.

Thanks Ludek. I got it by searching KB number.
Unfortunately, it didn’t fix my problem even my IE (IE8 and IE 9) has correct setting.  I double check my version. PrintControl.CAB is version 10.2.0.1146. we use VS 2005 Crystal report and VB .NET. It works fine on HTTP. But when we use HTTPS (SSL Certificate from go daddy).
    1: Crystal report export
Export to MS Excel, Word: pop us “File download”, then click “Save”. It says “Internet Explorer cannot download ReportView.aspx from my site. Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. the requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try it again later”
Export to RPt, Rich text format: It says “Internet Explorer cannot download ReportView.aspx from my site. Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. the requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try it again later”
Export to PDF : nothing happened.
    2: Print:
Pop up dialog to select printer, click “Print” “. Shows windows “Crystal Report Viewer” and pop us error message box. Title is “Crystal Print Control”. Message is “An communication error occurred. Printing will be stopped”. Click “OK” and pop up error message box again.
    Please advise.
    Thank you very much!

  • Multiple application pools for ColdFusion possible in the same IIS website?

I would like to set up a single website with CFM11 under IIS8.5
In this website there are several CFM applications, each under a different "Application" subfolder. For security purposes, monitoring and separate maintenance shutdowns per application, these would all need their own "application pool".
However, this means that these applications should run under a different application pool than their website root node. In IIS this causes a 403.18 exception:
    HTTP Error 403.18 - Forbidden
The specified request cannot be processed in the application pool that is configured for this resource on the Web server.
    Most likely causes:
•An ISAPI filter or custom module changed the URL to run in a different application pool than the original URL.
•An ISAPI extension (or custom module) used ExecuteURL (or ExecuteRequest) to run in a different application pool than the original URL.
•You have a custom error page that is located in one application pool but is referenced by a Web site in another application pool. When the URL is processed, it is determined by IIS that that it should have been processed in the first application pool, not the other pool.
•The Web site has multiple applications configured. The application this request is configured to run in is set to run in an application pool that does not exist.
All works fine if the "applications" in the subfolders run under the same application pool as the website root. However that is not my preferred setup... The behaviour is consistent over all CFM-applications that I deploy, no matter how simple they are...
    Two questions:
    - is coldfusion actually looking to "higher" folders than I expect it to? (and can that be avoided)
    - any hints or experiences on how to avoid / solve this issue?

Here are the steps you need to follow:
When you create connector for your ColdFusion 11 website, you get the “Jakarta” as virtual directory added under your website in IIS. If you don't then add 'jakarta' as virtual directory in your website.
You need to right click on “Jakarta” folder and click on “Convert to Application”.
Select the new Application Pool of the Application (say Test) added under website (CF 11)
    Click OK. Restart IIS.
NOTE :  You need not to restart IIS as well however if you still face the issue after following the above steps then try to restart IIS.

    Thanks

  • WCF service fronted with SSL enabled NGINX load balancer shows HTTP based WSDL url instead of HTTPS

    Hi,
I have WCF service hosted using IIS 8.5 on application server. And application servers are fronted with NGINX load balancer with SSL enabled. Backend communication protocol between NGINX to application server is http.
When customer visits public domain url (https://xxx.com/service.svc), they can see the WSDL url with http://xxx.com/service.svc?wsdl.
What change should I make so that WSDL url will have https instead of http ?
    This is service side configuration.

    Hi,
For this scenario, you could just enable SSL in IIS to get HTTPS endpoints. If your service is exposed at https then you configure the same using “httpsGetEnabled”:
    <behaviors>
    <serviceBehaviors>
    <behavior
    name="MyServiceTypeBehaviors"
    >
    <serviceMetadata
    httpGetEnabled="true"
    />
         </behavior>
    </serviceBehaviors>
    </behaviors>

  • CSM HTTP Redirect with SSL

    Problem we are having:
A client opens an HTTPS connection to a CSM with SSL offload to SSL module. The decrypted clear HTTP request hits the IIS server and is redirected (301).
The client gets an HTTP redirect and not an HTTPS redirect.
The reason for the 301 redirect is the IIS server does not have a physical resource but rather a virtual directory so it issues a 301 and adds a /. eg https://www.cisco.com/tech is redirected to https://www.cisco.com/tech/ in a working situation.

look for the urlrewrite command in order to change HTTP into HTTPS.

  • Servlet security with SSL

    Hello All,
I am fairly knew to Java and Tomcat etc as I came from a non Java\Tomcat previous role but have inherited a project which is a Java servlet (Java 1.6.0.29) running on Windows with Tomcat (Tomcat 7) as the container. The servlet communicates with both an Oracle database on a Unix server and a SQL server database on a Windows server. I now require to secure the communication with the SQL Server database using SSL (Two way communication) and would really like some straight forward guidance on how to do this, i.e. what exactly do I do?
I ask this because there is a lot of information on the Tomcat website and other web sites but I find it becomes very ambiguous and confusing. They mostly talk about setting up a Keystore for the root certificate on the server and then say nothing about the "client". In my servlets situation the server hosting the SQL server is the "server" and the server hosting the servlet is the "client". The server hosting the servlet ("the client") already has a keystore set up on it to handle the encryption to the Oracle database and a entry to suit in the Tomcat server.xml file.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am really stuck with this
    Thank you in advance

  • Trying to configure a multi-homed IIS server with CF8 on local network

I'm a bit lost trying to configure my development server in CF Builder (windows XP).  The server is Win2k with CF8.
The server sits next to my workstation, and the workstation has drive mappings to the server.
Websites on the server are under c:\websites\<sitename>
    Coldfusion is in c:\ColdFusion8
Each website has its own IP address, and is represented in the workstation hosts file (i.e. www.site1.dev = 192.168.1.xx)
The *default* website on the server is in c:\inetpub\wwwroot, and this is where cfide, etc resides
This creates a situation where CF8 admin is at a different IP from each of the sites.
So...  Do I set up each site as an RDS connection, or can I set it all up as a local server (using mappings)
I read Ben Forta's intruduction article, and am kind of lost - it didn't match up well with the server config dialogs.
I've been looking forward to seeing 'bolt'.  Any assistance is most appreciated!
    - Don

I have to admit, I'm wondering if people use other configurations to accomplish what I seek to achieve...
I am an independent developer with a number of clients.  In order to develop for them all in a setup that best duplicates their production configuration, I have set up multiple websites on a server machine, and access them from my 'workstation' computer on the same network.
So, each website (client project) has its own IP address, and I set up a record in the HOSTS file on my workstation with a URL to access it as if on the public web.
For instance, I have a very simple project, "AsiaFineConsultants" (project name, 'asiafine').
The website root on the server is located on the disk at c:\websites\asiafine.
On the server, IIS has that set up as a website, addressable at 192.168.1.42.
My workstation hosts file has www.asiafine.dev directed to 192.168.1.42.
So, on my workstation, I can browse to www.aisafine.dev and see the website.  Simple!
I have many such projects, each with its own IP, root directory, IIS website, and entry in my workstation hosts file.
****  Doesn't everyone do it this way???? *****
Ok, the server has coldfusion installed (of course), but in its own 'website' at 192.168.1.55, with root directory at c:\inetpub\wwwroot.
This works just great.  There are no problems with this arrangement.  I've been using HomeSite and CFEclipse for years in this environment - without debugging.
As I go to set up Bolt (er, Builder) I can't get the mappings to work.  The site mapping is different from the server mapping.  Perhaps this is an over-simplification, but I can get RDS, and I can get the project in the editor, but I can't browse it internally because of mapping problems.
    Problem!
    Got any ideas?

  • Getting error "Problem with SSL Certificate" but I'm connecting to my private server without SSL

I wanted to create a PDF from a subtree at a website. The first problem was that Acrobat Pro (11.0.7) wouldn't spider it (probably because there was a robot.txt file there) so I had to use SiteSucker to pull the pages down to my Mac.
Then I discovered that Acrobat Pro can't handle file:/// URLs so that was no good either
So then I copied all the pages to a folder on my Linux server where I use a non-standard port (86) for http connection as a minor security precaution.
When I tried to access that from Acrobat Pro, it bitched about a problem with SSL Certificate but gave me no option to do anything about it. More relevantly, all the files were accessible using http protocol, not https so there shouldn't have been any need to deal with SSL certificates at all
I had to temporarily enable port 80 on my apache server at which point it's now pulling all the files in and hopefully converting them.
    A) We're at version 11 ---- these kinds of issues should have been fixed years ago
    B) While you're at it, fix the stupid UI issue where the download dialog disappears completely if Acrobat Pro doesn't have the focus. On a long download, I'd like to be able to see progress while working on other stuff. Acrobat Pro is not the center of the universe!

Interesting point 2, I am working on a Mac plugin at the moment. It does not hide its dialogs when switching to a different app. I consider this a bug and will fix it so the dialog disappears. I hadn't considered the question of progress but there is a very strong reason to do this on the Mac.
My tests seem to show that
    (a) to get a dialog to sit above PDF documents all the time, it must be on a higher "level".
    (b) if a dialog is at a higher level, this is a global setting.
So, if the dialog is not hidden when switching all, it will typically sit on top of the other app's document windows. This would not be popular, as the end user, unless they have mountains of screen space and choose to use it that way, must either close or move the dialog when switching app, then bring the dialog back.  So, because Acrobat Pro is not the centre of the universe, it will hide dialogs (or rather, the Mac will, as it's a standard option when creating a window).

  • Problem with SSL Activated on SSO Login

    Hi Guys,
One of my applications has recently hit a few problems when SSL was activated on several environments. My application requires you to login using a SSO username and password before you can use the application. Before SSL was implemented, when you pressed the main menu button the page would redirect to the login server and the SSO login would remember your details and log you in again and then take you to the 1st page with a new session id. However, with SSL implemented, when the main menu button is pressed it redirects you to the login server but this time it asks you to enter your username and password. This is a problem as every time authentication is required on my application, it will keep telling you to login even if you have already done so before.
For extra information, the main menu button (which is a navigation bar entry) redirects you to a piece of javascript which is used to take you back to the 1st page depending on what page you are on.
I am also using the latest version of APEX.
Any help is much appreciated as I am not sure where to go with this problem.
Also is it a problem with the SSL setup or my application?
    Thanks
    -Mark

I have tried to pass the cookie through the URL to the login server but this does nothing.I can't imagine what you mean by that or what exactly you did.
it just takes me to the login page and resets the session id after i have logged in again! What do you mean by "reset"?
How can I make cookies be accepted by SSL?Have you constructed an experiment to prove that this is the problem?
Is there something i can put in the application itself?Definitely not.
