ICal puts duplicate entries to iPhone to Gmail calendar...new events..etc

I am sure everyone has done this before. Create a new event on iCal and then decided to remove it, right?
Well, until recently, I start seeing new event on my iPhone4 after each sync even though I deleted them completely on iCal.
I gather apple has introduce this nasty bug in their latest update. This is so frustrating as I have to manually delete all those new events on the iPhone4.

I'm assuming you are meaning via the iphone? Yes, to enable the feature you must set up the gmail account via Miscrosoft Exchange instead of selecting "Google Mail" on the set up screen. Use m.google.com as the server and everything else should be self explanatory.

You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.
You can transfer itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

ICal has duplicate entries

Using:
Nano
iCal
iTunes to sync up everything (iCal, etc)
Issue:
Duplicate entries in iCal on nano but not in iCal on PowerBook
What I did:
I originally had it iCal set up with Sunday as first day of week. Everything in nano was just peachy. Then I had to go an fiddle with it and made Monday first day of week and now, when I sync, my every-two-week-on-a-Thursday event is showing up on Wed and Thurs. I changed the day of the week back to Sunday but no luck.
Any ideas?

I live between two macs and export and import calendars from each to the other and I have the same problem. I too would like to know how to import without duplicating the same events?

Syning from iphone to gmail calendar

If I put an event oon my gmail calendar it will show up on my iphone but someing I put on my iphone will not shoow up on gmail calendar I have tried serveral times to sync them following iphon directions ans gmail directins

Iphone 4/gmail issue, slow, stalling etc

One (non gmail) account seems to be fine but another gmail account set up is either very slow, stalls before it does anything, really bad delays when any option pressed (edit, delete etc). Trash gets deleted only to open it again and find it all there again. Also, whenever gmail is read online thorugh page account, it still comes down on the phone. Is there any way to stop this? Any thoughts on the other annoying issues?

I don't know if you're new to the iPhone or Gmail but it's been like thils for a long time. Perhaps it's gotten worse but Gmail is slow. I have 2 Gmail addresses and 2 Yahoo addresses. I am usually finished reading all my Yahoo mail and in the process of responding to at least one of them by the time Gmail has completed it's thing. Gmail trash is where all of my spam goes. That can take an eternity to download everything.
It's not the iPhone, go over to the Google boards and you will find complaints about this dating back at least a year. It happens on all platforms.
You can do what I did, stop using Gmail. I switched back to the Yahoo accounts and use Gmail for specific (minor) use.

Ical has duplicate entries when i download

I have several calendars in my ical. For example I put in my child's U12 Hockey Schedule via a download from the team's webpage. Several days later the team's webpage will make a few changes to the schedule. I then download the schedule, which produces duplicate items as well as the updated items.
Any suggestions?

Have an existing iphone, and want to put all contents on new macbook pro. did a backup and sync and when i unplug the ipnone there is nothing in itunes any help thanks

The Sync is One Way FROM the computer TO the phone.
You need to copy your iTunes from your Old computer or its Backup... to your New computer ...

My gmail account is no longer connect to my iphone 5. My previous employer uses corporate gmail. I am with a new employer and when I create an event, it sends it to my old employer. I have tried several things. There contact information is not stored in my phone. Any Suggestions?

You may need to remove the old account from the list of calendar servers in Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Incorrect Dates and Duplicate Entries in Calendar

Hello,
I have had some duplication and incorrect date problems with calendar entries on my iPhone, but not iCal on the Mac that I synch it with. Maybe someone has a clue which troubleshooting path I can follow.
Duplicate entries:
I originally had "all calendars" synching and only a few of these calendars were duplicationg all of their entires. Upon further inspection in the iTunes synch menus, I found that I had a duplicate of each calendar; one with [email protected] and [email protected] I marked only the [email protected] calendars and that has taken care of the duplicates that I can see so far.
Incorrect dates:
I have a few repeating entries in one calendar that was duplicating above, but they are listed with incorrect dates on the iPhone only. These entries are marked all day events, but the pattern is for all the entries to be one day early vs. what is indicated on iCal. Forcing a reload of iCal data from my Mac doesn't change anything.
There are a few things that I could do in my troubleshooting, but are labor intensive. I just thought that I would see if my issue ring a bell with anyone and/or there is a bug that has already been identified.

Ok you can try one thing first, less invasive to see if it clears one set of contacts.
Open your contacts
Swipe down from the top edge > Settings.
Scroll down and turn off each of the various contact accounts.
tap BACK at lower left and now view your contacts.
All that should be left are the "local" contacts. Do you see any, and are they the contacts duplicated?
If so, then close all that and return to your main homescreen.
To clear the local calendar or contact database on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone, complete the following steps:
Swipe down from the top bezel on the home screen, and select Settings.
Select Accounts.
Tap the action menu button (3 vertical dots) on the bottom-right.
Select Clear Local Contacts or Clear Local Calendar.
Now, view your contacts app again. Make sure the ALL TAB is displayed at lower left.
Scroll through and check for duplicates.

Cannot create new events in iCal - they dissappeaar after quitting

Hello there,
I've used iCal for many years with no problem.
Recently I noticed that events were dissappearing.
I can add events and use iCal as normal as long as I don't quit the program or restart my computer. I can put the computer to sleep and all my new events are fine, but as soon as I restart or quit and reopen ical all the new events have dissappeared. Bizarrely my old events remain intact and events in the future that I added before the problemn started are also still there.
I have tried backing up the database before quitting, then reverting to the backup database, but even when i do this there are no new events visable.
Can anyone offer any help. I feel like i need to reinstall iCal or something.

Hmm....I was able to fix my issues. I'll share it here in the event it can help you.
While iCal was closed I simply moved to trash the folder "/Users/<my username>/Library/Application Support/iCAl/" I then re-opened iCal and I could then create new or import old ".ics" files, close iCal and re-open with all information being retained. Sweet!

Cannot enter new events in ical on imac using 10.7.5

Should be able to click and new event appears but this in not happening - nothing appears in ical on the imac but on my ipad and iphone there is an new event which is empty - I think I need to re-install the ical but cannot find the instructions to do this in 10.7.5

How do I stop iCal from changing my gCal events to UTC time zone when entering new events?

Within the last week, iCal has begun automatically changing the time zone of new events I enter via Calendar on my Google calendar to UTC. It does not do this for items entered on my iCal calendar.
I enter the date and time (Pacific Time) and as soon as I add an invittee or click "Done" it changes the time zone to UTC.
Prefs:
iCal time zone support is on
Mac time zone is set automatically (and its correctly finding PDT)
gCal time zone is also set for Pacific
Calendar reads 11-1 pm...
Yes, one solution would be to not use Calendar. Barring that, what do you suggest?

I was having the same problem and spent some time on the phone with apple today.(new computer is under apple care). Tried a ton of stuff with different folks and ultimately I (well, me and 3 apple specialists) was able to solve this issue.
Here's the break down:
1. Quit Mail, Calendar and Messages.
2. Open: System Preference -> Mail, Contacts & Calendars
3. Delete all your google accounts (using the little minus button below your account list)
4. Restart your computer.
5. Re-add your google accounts. (Obviously, keep the calendar box checked).
6. Open calendar and wait for your google info to populate.
7. Attempt to add an event with correct time zone.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Events I created while I was having the problem still had the problem.
I simply deleted those broken events and recreated them with refreshed settings.
I've only had this working for a few hours so I'm not certain it will stay working forever.
But for now it is a relief.
I realize deleting and re-adding the accounts is annoying but it's a lot less frustrating than seeing UTC every time you add an event.
Hope that helps everyone else having this problem.

How do I get iCal to stop defaulting new events to all day?

Just updated to Lion. Overall everything is working well. However, I can't stand some of the things the new iCal is doing.
By default it is defaulting new events to all-day (Rather than setting a time like it did before). Is there anyway to change this back?

This was discussed endlessly right after Lion came out.
Short answer: I don't think you can change this behavior in month view.
However: When you type an event, e.g., "Meet with TIm Cook for lunch, 1 pm", iCal is smart enough to set the time (at 1 pm in this example).
