ICal refuses to finish 'restore' ; trying to resolve sync issues.

trying to fix sync issues.
using missing sync.
everything worked perfectly for a ling long time before i thought it'd be cute to go in and put birthdays into addressbook, and select the option in iCal preferences to add those events to my calendar.
EVERYTHING has gone to **** since then.
the missing sync guys recommend i backup and restore addressbook and iCal.
addressbook did fine.
when i select the saved ICal database file (icbu) from my desktop, it will not complete.
what gives?
i'm trying to do this to fix another problem.
its like every step is making a new issue.
i am getting close to the edge guys...

(overall problem is that i cannot even get missing sync to overwrite my blackberry 8830 now.
for months, iCal, Addressbook, and Tasks synced perfectly.
all was well until i screwed with this stupid Birthday feature.)

If you don't have a rescue email address (or you do but aren't the receiving the email to it) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

How do I resolve syncing issues between Windows 7 64-Bit and my IPhone 4?

I keep getting an error when trying to sync my iPhone 4 to my new computer.
The error reads as follows:
This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes.
I cannot tell you how fed up I am with this error and Apple's lack of willingness to resolve the issue without purchasing support.
Does anyone have a fix for this issue to include step by step instructions? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thnak you.

I had the same problem. The following link solved my problem, in particular "Step 5". The regestry entries did the job. I think there is a problem with the iTunes 64-bit installer.

Trying to resolve license issue

So I am pretty stumped on how to proceed here and hopefully someone can be of some guidance. I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 for Windows back in early 2012. I've had this installed on two of my computers for the past couple of years and had no problems at all. Everything was wonderful. This was purchased from SoftwareKing.com who I have previously purchased legitimate licenses for software and at a slightly discounted rate. I have never had any problems with them and have confirmed that other licenses I have are legit from them.
I tried to purchase the Creative Cloud upgrade for $29.95 but it fails the upgrade saying I do not have a valid license. I contacted support and they found that my license is an educational license. I had another rep verify this and they confirmed it. Software King claims they definitely did not sell me an educational license. Per Adobe I should just buy an upgrade to resolve this. That doesn't make much sense. And they have not provided any support as who I can contact at Adobe to investigate the matter (whether anything helps me or not I figure they should investigate fraudulent purchases).
SoftwareKing is hands off the issue at this time because it was purchased over 2 years ago. Any suggestions on what to do? I suppose at this point I can just go for the $49.95 bundle but it bothers me I spent that much money on software and have been illegally using it, without my knowledge.

Actually I believe you misunderstand. I have purchased this software for $2,000 and it turns out now that it was an educational license. I don't intend anyone to help me recoup the money or anything - I simply was hoping someone would help and let me know who to contact at Adobe to report the vendor for selling licenses in this fashion. I figured some people would care that a vendor is illegally selling software but so far nobody from Adobe support I spoke to cared.

This is entirely a carrier issue. If your carrier (airtel) doesn't provide service outside of Mumbia, this has nothing to do with your iPhone.

Trying to resolve broadband issue.

Hey all. Hoping you guys could help me.
Background:
-moved into new flat last Friday and had arranged for my bt service to be moved across from my old flat. Same number, same package. (fyi the new flat is in the same development as the old flat)
- Broadband was cut off from old flat on the day and I received a text telling me the switch was successful and that the service can be used.
- plugged in bt hub and I got a red light on the broadband symbol (power and wifi were blue). Was like this until sunday.
- on Sunday received a text from bt telling me service was again ready to use. Reset the hub and then the broadband symbol was switching between off and orange flashing.
- left it till yesterday (Monday) and with no luck decided to call bt. They took me through all the steps etc and I made sure everything was done correctly. Still no joy
- bought a phone and plugged it in. No dial tone. Although when I ring the land line from my mobile, the number rings, but the house phone doesnt!
- have no idea what to do next.
- have opened up all sockets and non of them are master. All have the same wiring
- have three filters and found one that works, so that's no problem.
- the previous tenants said the line was working last week
- my bt online account says everything is working
- there are no service problems in my area
Any ideas what could be going on? It's driving me crazy!!
Don't know what to do next. Don't mind waiting for resolution but just can't understand how difficult it can be to switch a line.

Having trouble sync'ing. Receiving Overcapacity error on my 64GB iPhone 5. Backed up and restored but still having sync issues.

I have an iPHone 5 64GB with iTunes 11 installed on an 2 yr old HP laptop running Windows 7. I am having sync'ing issues. I am receiving an overcapacity error I have not seen before even though I can manually remove audiobooks I have previously loaded to get the overcapacity down below the available 64GB limit. I have removed most of them now and can get the sync to begin. Not sure if it will actually complete. But now I do not have but a relatively few audio books loaded. I have backed up and restored to see it that helps but am still getting the same overcapacity error. Seems whatever I had included was doubled in an "other" category. Also, in the recent upgrade to iTunes, it takes forever to sync when I change content. Sync'ing takes a lot longer than before. Has anyone else experienced similar performance issues.

Lawrence Finch has previously provided the following helpful info...
"Other" data is real data that you put on your phone by using the built in apps. It is not music, not videos, not pictures and not App Store app data. It is "OTHER" meaning everything that does not fall into these categories. Such as:
email messages and attachments
Reminders
Calendar entries
Contacts
Text messages (*** this can take up a lot of space)
MMS messages and attachments
Genius data
Music cover art
Operating system settings
Safari cache
bookmarks
Game Center status
Music catalog
If you have a lot of text messages stored, that can make "Other" very large. Another problem area is corrupted files. When app and data files become corrupted, they may end up in "Other". To fix that, perform a restore from a recent backup. That prevents corrupt files from showing up.

How do I resolve sync issues between mac address book and iPhone

I have iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1) and OSX Lion, ITunes 10.6 and use iCloud.
In Itunes I do not have 'Sync Contacts ticked' as it says my Contacts are being synced over the air. If I put contacts on either device then they do not sync with the other devise.
If I do tick this box then my iPhone contacts duplicate but the contacts on Address book that are not on iPhone do not transfer and contacts on iPhone do not go to address book!
Any ideas with any settings etc. that I can do to resolve this. It all used to work fine before iCloud but even after turning iCloud off this no longer works.

Pull up conversion to resolve sync issue

I have a sync problem on a feature film I am working on. It's a musical. I recorded the songs before the shoot in Logic Pro and produced BWF rough mixes at 48k/16 bit. During the film edit there seems to have been a pull down conversion because the film audio now drifts ahead of my original multi-tracks. A colleague has tested the required pull up in Pro Tools (it's NTSC to Film) and this put the audio perfectly back in sync. I don't have PT.
Is it possible to load the multis into STP and do a pull up conversion and then drop them back into Logic? I am new to STP. From what I've read you can pull up/down within a project but it doesn't export the pull up/down. I don't know how but I believe i could do a time stretch - I'm not keen on this as I understand it will introduce audio artefacts. And from what I've read there's no preset for timestretch so I'd have to do key in the % for every file (one song has over 80 tracks of audio!)
(just in case you're wondering.... for complicated underscoring reasons I need to sycn the multis rather than mix the tracks out of sync and do the pull up of the mixes at the end)

Video is is 24 fps H.264. It's locked off - they're grading it now so there will be no tinkering with time in that realm.
Audio that went into FCP (rough mixes)was 48 k, 16 bit BWF. The Logic session was set to 24 fps before these mixes were bounced out. The Logic session itself is 24 bit. These original mixes when dragged back into the session they originate from are in perfect sync. When the same mixes are dragged into the OMF derived from the movie my mixes are slower than the film. The OMF audio and the audio embedded in the QT are in sync. So I am slower than the film.
As I mentioned I am working in Logic Pro- The film was edited in FCP.
I don't know the sequence settings in FCP but my editor says she was aware of the quirk where the sequence settings and default settings might be different such that the audio might be pulled up or pulled down. (Despite her protestations I'm pretty sure that's what happened - but she is very experienced). I actually know nothing about FCP except what I've read on the web.
My editor might suspect I am the culprit. She claims that the mixes I originally gave her are 'at 30 fps.' Maybe someone out there can clarify something for me. My understanding is that BWF are time stamped but not with a frame rate. ie; the embedded TC is just a time (as in hours:minutes:seconds:milliseconds)? Even my BWF had an embedded TC of 30 fps we have established that the correct amount of pull up to put my out-of-time audio in sync with the movie is .1%. That's NTSC to film - not the 4% required to correct a 24 to 30 fps discrepancy.
My original question stands btw. I'm a STP newbie too and I'm wondering if I can do pull ups in STP. If so how do I export this audio out of STP?

Since updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1 my battery life has significantly decreased.
Like myself several other users are having the same problem with terrible battery life.
I am just wondering are apple trying to resolve this issue and if so by doing what ??

There is no way to knw what Apple is trying or what they are doing, unless they announce -which is very rare.
Most have no issue. They released 5.1 to help resolve ths issue. Try doing a forum search to see if you can get some help extending your iphones battery life.

My iPhone 3s won't finish restoring and iTunes won't recognize it anymore.

I woke up this morning and my iphone 3s was not working properly and I couldn't make or recieve calls or texts but everything else was working fine. Then I got a notification saying I had to restore it so I did, and it got all the way to the part where you reset the settings like the language and country but when it says "connect to iTunes" it stops working and iTunes won't recognize my phone anymore. It's not under warranty and I don't know if I can fix this myself or if Apple will still fix it for me. I also recently updated all my software so that shouldn't be the problem. Help!

To troubleshoot this issue of your iPhone not powering on, please follow the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

Unspecified Error message when trying to srt sync configuration

I'm having same problem. Performed recommended upgrade to Software Version 5.0. Didn't like it. Re-installed version 4.6, and now I can't synchronize.
Already tried all of the above. I'll be watching for a solution too.

A month later, and I'm still trying to resolve this issue.
I have cold booted the device (by removing the battery etc. etc.)
I have turned off all Wi-Fi.
I have un-installed desktop software, and then re-installed after cold boot.
Cannot think of any other solution.
Music syncs fine.
But cannot, for the life of me get the sync to allow me to set up my configuration.
Every time this 'UNKNOWN ERROR REPORTED

-reimporting the parent table alone.
-fresh export of all tables with option consistent=y
but the records are matching between source and target tables.

I have an iphone 3GS and I tried to upgrade the software, After it finished I tried to restore from backup and even though the itunes says there was a backup, After trying it comes up with error there was no backup to retrieve from. Can I get it back
