  • Reminder list not showing in ical view,

I cannot find the reminder list in teh iCal view pane. Pls help

That's because reminders were moved out of iCal/Calendar in Mountain Lion and into their own dedicated Reminders app.

  • Reminder lists not showing up in iCal

I created several reminder lists on my iPhone 4S.  When I checked in iCal to see if they carried across, I saw them at one point.  When I went back a few minutes later, they were gone.  They still exist on the iPhone, but I can't find them in iCal nor do I know how to force a synchronization.

I don't seem to be getting iCal push notifications on my iOS devices and my Macs.  I have current versions of Lion (10.7.3) and iCal (5.0.2) and am using iCloud (@me.com) and the people that are sending me invites are using a variety of email accounts for their own iCloud accounts.  The point is that the invitations show up in the Calendar (outlined and background color of grey with the option to Accept or Decline) but they aren't pupulating in my "inbox" next to the "Calendar" button in the upper righthand corner.  Nor are they indicated on my iOS devices.  Both updated with the latest version of iOS 5.X.X. Anyone help?!

  • Can the same name be used for both an iCal calendar and reminder list?

In iCal, I have a Reminder list named "Home".  I have been trying to also give a Calendar the name "Home", but iCal does not seem to want me to do this. When I try to use the name Home for a Calendar, it changes it to the name "Home C" (a name that I gave it when I couldn't get it to let me use "Home").  Is this a restriction within iCal?  I have iCal synched with iCloud, which in turns syncs with an app called 2Do on my iPhone.  I am not sure if that may be part of the problem.

    Yes, it can

  • Ical reminders list won't sort on iphone

ICal Reminders won't sort on the actual device it was intended for - the Iphone
I just talked to Apple Express service over this problem.  I went to the trouble of transferring my to-do list onto icloud Reminders - where each item asked for a priority ranking and where you are then given options for how to sort  all the Reminders you entered - so that it can actually be useable as any Calendar/time management system would be.   I chose "by priority" of course, but you can also choose alphabetically, etc.  It must be said, at least to Apple, apparently, that the point of doing all this is so that the Reminders are available on your actual device - my iphone.  The Reminders all synced immediately to the Iphone.  However, the Reminders list is an unsorted jumble on my iphone.  Even when I tap out a Reminder on my iphone itself and choose a priority, the item remains at the bottom of the list as the last thing I typed in.  Apple Express Support "explains" that the priority ranking and the sorting choices are "not supported" on the device you want to use them on - the iphone.   They offered me "an article" that explains this in detail.   In other words, engaging with the Reminder function and choosing priorities and choosing sort orders is all just a cruel joke wasting your time.  I would have been better off just printing off my Reminders list on paper and circling the high priority items in red ink.  Oh - but you can't print it out either.
Unbelieveable.  Apple's ICal Reminder function actually and actively leads you to engage with completing details and choices that don't even function, or in other words - aren't "supported" on the Apple device they are stated to be designed for.  Is there a device on which this function is actually supported?  "Not at this time"
The only way to have your to-do list sorted on the iphone is to assign a calendar date for each one of them and then they only appear on that specific date.  You would not be able to view your whole list in anything other than the order you happened to enter the items.  No calendar/time management system I know of makes you put a date on every item in a  task list - some tasks have a due date, but most don't.  And every calendar/time management system allows you to sort your list, or view your list in a sorted order.   And print it out also.

    Hello Christiansted,
    Welcome to the Discussions Boards.
In addition to shuffle, you probably have repeat enabled. When you tap the screen or cover art while playing a song, the scrubber bar has the Shuffle button at the right end and the Repeat button at the left end.
If the circular arrows are blue, it will repeat the album or playlist.
If the circular arrows have a small number 1 on them, it will only repeat one song
If they are white, Repeat is off.
The User's Guide explains this on page 63:

    Hope that helps,

  • How do I put an event into my reminder list?

With the old ical, I could simply drag an event over to the "to do" list (now Reminders) on the right side.  I need this function for appigo Todo on my iphone.  Anybody know how to add an event to the reminder list?  I hate to have to type everything twice and appigo only syncs with the reminder list.

I figured it out.  You can't drag and drop iCloud events but iMac events can be dragged to reminders.  I just disabled iCloud for now til I get a chance to figure iCloud out.

  • Can't rename a new reminder list.

Followed instructions but when I press return, it returns to “untitled”. MacBook Pro OS 10.7.5 iCal 5.03

While reading your response it occured to me that I did not enable synchronisation of reminders with iCloud.
I went there and enable it...and woila...now I can add new reminder lists.
It seems that you can not create new lists without enabling synchronisation with iCloud.
Thank you very much for your effort and time. I very much appreciate it.

  • Is there a way to change default Reminder List for new Reminders?

In iCal, I have Reminders showing.  I have three Reminder Lists, but I've only got one List checked so only that List's Reminders show up.  When I create a new Reminder, iCal always wants to create it in one of the unchecked Lists - always the same List, but not the one currently showing.  I always have to finish creating the new Reminder, and then change it to be part of the other Reminder List.  And, because iCal insists on creating the new Reminder in one of the unchecked (non-displayed) Lists, it checks the box for me so now I have to go an uncheck it again to restore the display of only one List.
Am I doing something wrong or is iCal Reminder creation just this clunky?
Is there some way to tell iCal to use a particular Reminder List for creating new Reminders in?

Duh.  Found it right on the General tab of iCal's Preferences.
I really don't know how I missed that.

  • Is it possible to have a calendar and reminder list with the same name?

I migrated from MobileMe to iCloud on the first day. MobileMe was then set up with my MacBook and so in iCal i saw my calendar events duplicated. I didn't like this so I tried deleting the MobileMe calendars first, then realised I couldn't delete all of them, it seemed that I must have one calendar. I then removed the the account setting (which would have been the smarter thing to do). A few hours later I notice that the calendars I deleted from MobileMe have been deleted from iCloud, as well as associated task/reminder lists. Luckily for me I made a backup before moving to iCloud so I've managed to recover my calendars.
My question is: Can I make a calendar and reminder list by the same name?
After the migration I did have some calendars and reminder lists by the same name eg. Work, Home.

T-Storm, I'm having the same annoying delay on my X-Fi Extreme Gamer card, it's driving me nuts trying to fix it.
I noticed that if I un-tick the Dolbly Digital Li've in the console it goes away, along with the 5. sound, %$*&^^&%!
Is it he same with you? Try un-ticking the DDL while playing something and see if it stops the delay or not. At least it will see if the problem is the card, the connection, the optical cable, or DDL itself.
Dolby Digital Li've works in real-time so I fear that is causing the delay rather then a bad cable or connection. But I don't know if others are getting the same delay or not, if it is DDL then everyone should be getting it.
But, if they are not trying to play a digital signal at the same time as a anolog one they might not notice it.

  • Calendars appear as empty Reminder lists?!

    Dear Apple Support Community!
Occasionally my Calendars appear as a new list within my Reminders app. This never happen before. (Before I bought the iPhone 5s updated to iOS 7.0.3! With my iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.3, it never happened!)
Yesterday the Reminders app showed me my main Calendar "Private" as a new empty Reminder list. I deleted it, because I thought it made a failed syncing of my main Reminders list, also named "Private". After that, I realized that I deleted my main Calendar "Private". Luckily I made a physical backup on my Mac of the Calendar "Private".
Today the Reminders app showed me again all my different Calendars as new empty Reminder lists. Strangely enough they disappeared after a while. (Without deleting my different Calendars!)
As the iCloud System Status page is not showing any know issues, I suppose that it’s a new iOS 7.0.3 bug.
I’ll feedback this to Apple, but nevertheless I hope that other users may have found a solution for this annoying and dangerous bug.
    Yours sincerely,
    Marc

I had exactly the same problem! Talk one hour with the apple support that was telling me this is not possible and that reminder lists have nothing to do with calendars and that I have propably deleted the calendar somewehere else! So very happy to see that I am not alone on this one.
I had also an iCal archiv backup. But when I imported the archiv back to iCal on my MacBook the calendar that I deleted would appear only on my machine but won't sync to iCloud and my other devices even if listed under the iCloud calendars and after trying to restart all the iCloud services with logout / login.

  • ICal calendar list is empty and all events are gone

My iCal calendar list shows up empty and all my calendar events are gone as well. I read posts with a similar issue where the list of calendars disappeared yet the events remained. In this case, everything is missing.
I tried deleting the ical plist file but it did not help.
    Has anyone else seen this?

    i deleted everything under
    ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
and started over to fix it

  • Why can I NOT name a Reminder List the exact same thing as a Calendar?

Remember the good old days when ToDo Lists where automatically related to a specific calendar?  I want that back.  Why can I not name a Reminder List and a Calendar with identical titles?  Why do I have to create a calendar named "Blue Project" and then create a Reminder List and name it "Blue Project 2" or some other iteration?  This is totally asinine.

"You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29."
Precisely. How is "loss of functionality" progress or an upgrade? Why should I have to install an extension just to get a "reload" button? What a pile of crap. Why not have a "Use shit interface" tickbox in the Options dialogue so people can choose if they want their version of Firefox to have pants functionality?

  • Calendar missing from iCal's list.

Noticed today that our Work calendar is missing from iCal's list. Checked partner's iMac, iPad, 2 iPhones, MobileMe. Missing from all of them. Turned off syncing with MobileMe on both iMacs & all other devices. Quit iCal/Calendar on everything.
In Finder window selected ~/Library. Entered Time Machine. Selected ~/Library/Calendars. Selected a timeline a few days back. Clicked Restore. Said 'Keep both', & removed original from Library folder.
Opened iCal. When it first loaded the calendars, Work was there, but it quickly disappeared and what's more, events added in other calendars since the timeline date chosen were there too. So there's something else (to do with Sync Services?) I need to turn off or delete....?
I'll be very grateful for enlightenment here.
    OS is 10.6.8

These are evidently MobileMe calendars, to which the Apple Tech Note linked to above does not apply; and turning off syncing in System Preferences>MobileMe>Sync has no effect on iCal syncing which no longer uses that method.
This is why your calendar is disappearing: MobileMe sees it as deleted, so every time you add it back in from Time Machine (whereupon it has an earlier modification date than the deletion) MobileMe brings it up to date by deleting it, and also updates the other calendars.
There is a method for dealing with this issue, though it's a trifle complicated and you need to work through the steps carefully and exactly. The process is detailed here:
