ICal reminders transfer to Mountain Lion Reminders app?

I have several reminders in iCal in Lion, assigned to a variety of calendars.  When I upgrade to Mountain Lion, will those reminders transfer to the Reminders app, and will the various iCal calendars become "Lists" in Reminders, with the individual reminders correctly assigned to them?

My suggestion is before you upgrade to Mountain Lion, you should at least consider putting your reminders in iCloud.  Here's an article on the subject: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2599
And here's a broader iCloud article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4436
From experience, I can tell you that iCloud transitions easily from Lion to Mountain Lion.
