ICal's font size - are there alternatives?

I'm giving up in iCal because I can't enlarge the font size - and today, looking at a brand new mac with the latest version, I see I won't be able to do so in the future. Does anybody know of a mac-friendly calendar program that a) isn't as ugly as mud, and b) lets you customize font size and text color?

You can control the font size within a cfdocument tag a
variety of ways. You can use style sheets, inline style tags, and
probably (I've never tried this) font tags.

I am using iTunes 11.1.3 -- The most recent version. When I select something from my albums it just freezes. I have restarted it a few times with same result.

I have found this site recently and it has saved me from throwing my computer out and starting fresh because of the ravages of down loading itunes upgrades.
I have had to revert to the original itunes software supplied last year with my ipod. That version is now doing stange things (like shutting down my computer in the middle of an itunes function).
I don't download music, and just use itunes for managing the music on my mini.
I can't believe the problems and many frustrating hours that itunes has caused me and others.
Are there programs that are alternatives itunes?

The obvious answer is for me to suggest that you get a new computer because yours is a relic. I'm not trying to be funny but todays new software have requirements that your Win ME wasn't designed for. Prices are so low these days that it would be worth the investment. Other than that, I can't offer any more help.

IPhone Safari Font Sizes are bad

Anyone else notice the bad font sizes in iPhone Safari?
I am writing a web site and am having trouble getting safari to render fonts on the iphone the same way they are rendered on safari... I tried changing the font-family to Verdana and Arial since those are supposed to be supported on both the iPhone and Mac Safari but that did not fix it...
As a great example go to google and search for something on your iphone.
The word "Sign in" on the top right is too large...
The word "Web" (right under the search box) is too small...
The other words in the blue bar with "Web" are also too large...
Right now my current solution is to pin point things that are too small and too large and on a case by case basis change the font sizes for those elements... This is pretty ridiculous when you have a large site and lots of pages...

Are there alternative methods to "paint()" and "paintComponent()"?

Are there any ways to draw on the screen other than using "paint()" or "paintComponent()" methods? I am asking this because I need to use active rendering for my game, and active rendering doesn't make use of paint().

Are there any 3rd party solutions for disconnected mode operations with Oracle databases? I've only been able to dig up Oracle Lite from searching on the web, but I'm interested in other approaches as well.
If anyone has done the research and is willing to share some competing technologies/vendors, I'd appreciate it.

Did the same research you did about a year and a half ago and Oracle Lite is best suited for replication with an Oracle Enterprise database. Biggest reason it is easy to build, on the surface anyway. It is scalable and reliable.

Jmf abandoned? Are there alternatives?

Hey people,
I think it's been a month since i started searching more about JMF, and the more i look more doubts i get. My problem is:
I work on a web-based system for health assistance. Its objective is to let less-experienced doctors that work in smaller centers of medicine send info about some pacients to higher level doctors and ask for a second opinion. This info include: pacients' laboratory exams, videos, photos,etc. You can access the system via browser, and you just need a login and pw to use it.
The main problem is with video exhibition, actually there are 3 problems about video exhibition:
1.Our videos are played on an applet that uses JMF 2.1.1and because of that, the doctors that access the system for the 1st time will always have to install JMF. For us, this is a problem because our clients aren't people from IT that are used to install and uninstall all the time.
2. JMF has a limited number of formats and codecs and, sometimes, a client has the GREAT idea of encoding the video in a not-standard format like Divx 5.0 (DX50). So we have to look all over the net trying to find some sort of implementation of the codec in java. And since the client machine only installs the jmf, any alteration has to be sent with the applet. We are trying to send the jmf together with the Applet but we are having some problems with native methods...
3. We are trying to find an alternative for JMF since, as I can see, sun has amost abandoned JMF. Our main focus now is to find alternatives and not to implement new codecs, and etc.

Ah, about DivX, I've already tried to include ffmpeg.jar and fob4jmf.jar inside jmf.jar since these two have implementations of some codecs that aren't standard in jmf, but it doesn't work at all. I think that maybe I firstly have to find out how to send jmf together with the applet to the client-browser... or maybe not... maybe jmf isn't the solution to anything anymore... Anyway! L_TO_CONFIRM not updating VBBE. Are there alternatives?

We are using L_TO_CONFIRM to confirm TOs via RF in our warehouse. We have also recently upgraded from 6.04/7.01sp5 to 6.17sp5/7.40sp7.
Since the upgrade, L_TO_CONFIRM no longer updates VBBE for the source delivery when confirming a TO with difference. This is causing issues when dealing with constrained product.
I have opened an OSS message, but SAP has basically responded by telling me to go away because L_TO_CONFIRM is not released for customer use.
I have read through the documentation for L_TO_CONFIRM but don't see any options related to this.
Has anyone else faced this issue? How did you deal with it? Is there an alternative to L_TO_CONFIRM that I should be using instead?

If i use the standard to confirm a to it is working....
I have to debug the issue.

Page 162 of the user manual here lists the following built-in fonts for the US version:
CG Times, CG Times Italic,
Universe, Universe Italic,
Courier, Courier Italic,
Letter Gothic, Letter Gothic Italic
Other fonts would be provided by your operating system. What is your operating system? What application are you printing from?

Are there alternative locations I can find my Firefox profile (in Time Machine)?

I recently erased my harddrive and re-installed Mac OS X Lion, however I forgot to save a copy of my Firefox bookmarks. I do have backups of my system on Time Machine though and was told by Apple Suport I would just need to locate the Firefox folder where bookmarks are stored to restore this file from Time Machine. I cannot seem to find my Firefox profile folder in ~/Library/Application Support, though. Is there another location I can look?

I want to update my software but my disc drive is not functional, are there alternatives?

I have a Macbook Pro 5,3 that I would like to update, currently my Macbook runs on 10.5.8.
My main problem is that I can't purchase the update because my disc driver is not functional anymore(my only problem, Macbook otherwise is doing very well).
I have been to the store and they advised me to call, and now it seems like I need to pay 25,- pounds so I can get help over the phone which is a bit ridiculous to me.
Besides that, what would be the alternatives for me to install Snow Leopard and hopefully then update to the newest software for my Macbook?

Snow Leopard is available from Apple for $20. Since your current optical drive isn't working, you can pick up any number of USB external DVD drives cheap. In the U.S., many are available for under $20.
Once you have those, install Snow Leopard, and then update it to 10.6.8.

You may be running into trouble with the fonts used in the PDF file. As a test, would you please try converting the document from within Reader, and disable OCR following the instructions in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) when converting PDF to Word or Excel.

Imported pics to IPHOTO from a friends android and only thumbnail size are there, is there a way to re-format the thumbnails to a regular picture

I recently imported photos from a friends android phone, Galaxy Note, for some reason other than four pictures, only thumbnails were imported. He deleted them after the import, and I can't format the pictures to a normal size and quality in IPhoto. If I just re-size the quality is awful, Any ideas that may help. I normally don't touch any pictures, it's my wife's thing, and now I'm in big trouble.
