Ical Server Web Interface
I have a mixed environment. The mac users use Ical to manage and print group calendar. The Windows users currently use the web interface to see the group calendar. How do the Windows users print the calendar? I tried printing it on the browser and it is unusable. How are you all doing it?

I went and looked at the particular calendar that was requested at the time of the error. I found about 10 entries that had a DURATION instead of a DTEND. I modified them to have a DTEND, and now the user claims to be able to access the calendar correctly.
Interestingly, the entries I changed all had a PRODID of
PRODID:-//Apple Inc.//Web Calendar Client//
and were the only entries in the calendar to have been created so. In fact, they're the only entries created by the web client in any of the users calendars. I smell web client bug.

Hello,
Running winnt 4.0, messaging 4.x, directory 4.x and admin 4.x. Already moved the netscape gateway to a web server instead of admin server, but also need to move the user mgt application. This is the first link listed when you go to the admin server url in the browser. I have set up <netscape root>/bin/user/admin/bin as cgi directory and set up /bin/user/admin as additional docs directory, but frames in the application just hang.

Administration Server to a Web Server?
If that is the case, then I do not believe that this is possible. The Administration Server itself is a proprietary architecture. The DSGW was setup from 4.0 onwards to be able to run on an external Webserver, to improve performance, but I do not believe that the Admin Server itself can be moved over.
Do you have a lot of people logging in through the Console itself? As you have already moved the DSGW component over to a sepeate sever, I'm trying to understand the need to move the Entire Admin Server over. -
How can I reset my password via Lion Server web front-end?
I'm trying to enable my users to be able to change their passwords from the default value I've given them. This can be done from the user's profile page but when with the new Lion Server web interface, I select the "Change Password" at the bottom of the page and I get the following result:
Changing passwords is turned off.
You can turn it on by using the Server app on the server.
I'm assuming I cannot use the Server app on my client computer (a MacBook Pro) so I use the Server app on the server. I cannot find out how to enable this feature. I've been all over the Lion Server help documentation but can't find out how.
I've selected my server in the Hardware section on the left-hand side of the Server app and gone to the Settings tab and checked the "Enable screen sharing and remote management" box but I still get the message above.

Inside this tab, enable also the "Device Management", which will start a network directory.
This make sense for a centralized user mgmt.
But a bit not user-friendly enough.

Connecting to exchange server via web interface?
Employer's exchange server has IMAP disabled and IT will not consider adding activesync for iPhone 2.0. Using the web interface via Safari is way too hard on an iPhone to be practical except in emergencies.
Question: The new version of Entourage allows for retrieval and sync through a connection to the exchange web interface. It behaves just like it's connected directly to the exchange server, but is hitting exchange's web server.
Is there anything like this for iPhone? Any way to retrieve mail into the native mail application (rather than web app) by polling the exchange web server?A few things. Neither will give you the functionality you seem to be after.
1) Use Exchange OMA service (text based view via web) very quick compared to the full image web based application. Has read/write functionality but you are not going to want to write an email via this.
2) Outlook 2007 supports http: access. You could use that to pull the data from your work account to say a home PC and sync your iPhone (albeit once a day).
3) Ask them to install iTunes 7.7 on your work PC so you can sync (I think I know how this would go down in a company ) -
Setup iCal server accessible to the LAN via web browser

I am newbie in mac server and I believe there are lots of guys over there that could help me.
Here's my environment:
Software/Server: Mac OS X Server 10.6
Hardware: Mac Mini Server Snow Leopard
LAN/internet Setup:
Broadband -> router -> mac mini server
-> mac users
-> pc users
Now, here's my scenario:
The mac mini is already running (OS is already installed) and act a normal computer usage like internet browsing, doing some documents and so on and so forth. But now, we decided to make the mac mini server as a server(calendar (iCal) server, address book server, web-server). I'm not so much familiar with DNS, DHCP or networking things to make the client computers connected to server.
My main concern is that I want the calendar to be accessible via web browser in our local network (something like this -> http://calendar.company/ or can access via IP address of the server like.. http://192.168.1.20/), in this case Mac and PC users connected to our LAN(router) can able to access and share their our calendar.
Now questions are:
1. How can I setup the mac mini server and calendar server to be accessible via web browser to the mac and pc users?
2. Do I still need to setup DNS and public IP for my server?
3. Where can I get a step by step tutorials that I could follow?
All recommendations and comments are all appreciated

EmmmanI can't find any clear and step by step instructions with my concern. I am not expecting this to be easy(can setup even non-IT) as apple advertise but as I am reading the documentations I notice these things to be properly setup:
1. Functional DNS system. - This is a high level networking Stuff(Non-IT can't even understand it).
2. IP addresses, reverse IP's etc - Non-IT can't even understand it
3. Router Configurations - Non-IT can't even understand it.
and so on and so forth.
We, the newbie on mac server just need a clear and step by step scenario on how to setup the whole thing.

I am running a small network on a MacPro running OS X server 10.5.4 with 2 mac clients and 2 windows clients. The OS X server was installed by an apple specialist but it is still not working properly and I find it hard to believe that it is a bug is the software as it seems to be a fundamental problem which most people would have encountered.
Each user has their home directories stored on a separate drive on the server and iCal server is running. However, when a Mac client logs into the network they iCal does not work properly. It either will not show any calendars or if it does then a new event cannot be entered.

Once loaded iCal does not respond and a "force quit" is the only option.
I have looked at the logs in Server Admin and I can't seem to see any problems at about the same time.
I would be grateful if someone could let me know whether this is a bug with the software or whether there is a solution. For the time being, the mac users are having to use portable home directories in order to allow them to use iCal.

I've not long ago spotted it. It is a longish log. I would sort out that problem anyway because it can't be good for that user.
What needs to happen is a sampling of a the log server side when the problems occur for the clients. It would be a good idea if you posted a little more about how the server is configured. Are you using Server Preferences to administer the Server by any chance? What is the result of issuing this command from terminal:
sudo changeip -checkhostname
Post the result. Did the apple engineer configure internal DNS & DHCP Services to accommodate the web and ical services? Is the web service running? Are you using virtual domains? Are the client macs using the Server to resolve DNS?
As you can see lots of questions. If you are using Server Preferences then I'm going to have to stop trying to assist you. Please don't think there is anything wrong with your server because you are using the application, because there is not. Neither is there anything wrong with the choices made by the original guy. It's just I don't deal with anything other than Advanced. I have little knowledge of Server Preferences. Please don't be tempted to 'convert' to Advanced thinking it may 'improve' matters. It's just as likely it will make things worse.
Consider getting the original guy back in and having him do it for you again. Who knows you may find things will go a lot smoother this time?

ICal Server reacheable by the server but not by the clients

We've got an iCal Server running on Mac OS X Server 10.5.4. Suddenly (due to a power failure), the iCal Server stopped working. I checked the file /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.calendarserver.calendarserver.plist and Disabled was set to True, so I set it to False and I rebooted. Now, the iCal Server launches correctly and will work on the server itself, but not on the clients.
The clients can't even reach http://iguane.local:8008/ (they can still reach the Apache web server).
Any idea of how the access on the local network can be restored? I am not sure where to look and what's wrong.If you can't reach the server via Safari then there is some problem with the network setup on your server machine or with some device between the server and client.
Can you stop then restart the calendar server and post the text from the error.log that appears when you restart? That should indicate which network interfaces are being bound to by the server - we should double-check that. -

I have Lion Server and Lion Macs up-to-date.
I have Network Users with MobileHome syncing on every session. Works beatifully, now. So i Thought... let's introduce the iCal Server.
The users own calendar works fine. So I configured the Group Calendar via Wiki. I shared the Group Calendar with the Users of the Group.
It works. Everybody sees their own and their group calendars.
All the problem start as soon as we try to set up events.
All new events are generated as all day. Why?
If the new event is generated within the Group Calendar it cannot be moved to the personal one. It looks like a permissions problem. But it is allowed to move the event to one's own iCloud and then back to any Server Calendar, be it the personal or the group one.
If I try to generate/modify a Group event to add attendees within the OD & Group Users i get an error. As soon as I hit 'send' a window pops up offering to either 'Go Offline' or 'Revert to server'. Upon the latter the Event is lost! Why? Even via the https Web interface the scheduling of events with attendees does not work. The page starts a sunflower clock, saying it is communicating with the server and never stops.
Any Help?Group (Wiki) Calendars are read only from iCal client by Design.

I see lots of ways to get a local iCal calendar into the android platform, but how do I get access into the iCal server based calendars? I would also like our droids to be able to access them through our MAS server without resorting to the web interface. I can do this on iOS devices...
Thanks!Got to the Android market and search for CalDAV. There are several apps supporting to sync calendars to your Android device.
The one I use at the moment, is Hypermatix "Calendar (CalDAV)" but it's not supported on the latest Android versions and you can't create new calendars, you have to create them with a Google account.
The one I will switch to soon, is DMFS "CalDAV-Sync". This software integrates nicely with the existing Android calendars and you can add new calendars from within the application (they have also a CardDAV application for my addresses).
All software is only usefull if you have a CalDAV server (e.g. iCal on OSX Server) -
ICal Server - 2 users out of many cannot see availability

There seems to be a strange issue with 2 users out of many in my configuration.
I have a server running OS X Server 10.6.6 with iCal Server (among other services - EMail, OD, etc) configured.
There are several (50+) users configured in WGM.
Basic Calendar operation...
- Connect (via caldav) to the iCal Server with iCal, or using the Web interface
- create a new event
- add invitees, or one of the configured locations
- view the 'availability' of the invitees or locations
.. works as advertised, showing checkmark or whatever for the person or location, as well as your own 'work times' as configured in iCal preferences...
.. except for 2 of the users.
The name / location autocomplete works as expected.
The name of the person or location is displayed normally, but there is an exclamation mark - ! - beside the name.
There is no display of the busy times or availability in the panel provided.
Their own 'work times' (configured on the account information preferences window) are not shown.
(their availability is shown when other users invite and check)
The invitation for the event that they create is sent to the other user, but when the request is accepted, there is no event in the other calendar, and no indication on their event that the user had accepted.
I have gone thru the user's settings in WGM, compared them to other 'functioning' usernames, and found nothing that yells 'fix-me'.
It is not a client side issue, as I have created the iCal caldav connection on other computers, used the web interface from other computers, (where it works for other users).
The users were all created manually, following the same process, with the same basic information entered.
These 2 specific users were created several minutes apart, are not sequential in the UIDs.
I do not wish to delete and recreate these users, for various reasons...
(as a last resort, may have to...)

I tested the other account this morning, it didn't work on client computer.
set up the caldav account on my computer, tested, it worked.
went back to client computer, tested, it worked.

ICal Server Missing March 2012 - Two Aprils
Has anyone else noticed a problem of March 2012 (or any other month) missing from their iCal server (10.6.8) web interface? The iCal client displays March and April 2012 correctly, but the web service skips March in lieu of an extra April.
I've bounced both the iCal and Web services. Not sure what else to do about this, and would love some advice.

AxiomI went back in today and it was again missing march with 2 april's. I am able to consistantly resolve it by switching view to month view, click the arrow forward past april, click on mini-map (nothing changes here) then arrow back to pre 2012. At some point going back, the mini map switches to the current month (which I believe should be the default, until you click the mini arrows to switch months) and going forward again the months appear properly.
What a PIA. Thankfully we do not use the web view and only ical clients. Wonder if anyone else who sees this running 10.6.8 server and ical can check this out and see if its a global issue (many systems) or isolated. -
10.6 iCal server using 10.5 Open Directory
Has anyone had any experience with getting a 10.6 server's various collaboration services working with a 10.5 Open Directory? I have the web services working fine, but I'm having trouble getting iCal running correctly. First, 10.5 clients trying to connect to the 10.6 iCal server won't work via Kerberos. The other problem, is when I connect via digest mode (or whatever the unsecure mode is), the iCal clients don't seem to get anything back from the server. I can create events and I see them via the web interface, but events created or edited via the web interface don't get pushed back to the client.
Thanks for any help...I don't think 10.6 does the enabling stuff the same as 10.5 if I remember correctly. A lot of it is done via the web interface. I know creating a wiki in 10.5 meant creating a group in WG manager and setting it up through that. In 10.6 you go to the wikis part through a browser and hit "Create new wiki". Permissions are setup via the settings page on the wiki.
I'm not sure if the same goes for calendaring because we haven't ever used the iCal server to the full extent but I think it might be a similar change. When you sign into your "my page" on a 10.6 web server, it creates a calendar for you that you can edit via the web interface or iCal. Wikis also have calendars created, but I'm not sure how to get them in iCal.

10.5.8 iCal cannot see CalDAV events from SL iCal server
I posed this on the iCal discussions but receive no response. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that is successfully using iCal 3 with SL Server.
I'm running SL iCal Server.
I can add and interact with CalDav User and Group Calendars on all SL client machines, Web Calendars and PC's (Sunbird) .
I can do the same with my User Calendars my iPhone.
I can add User and Group Calendars to 10.5.8 iCal clients but I cannot see any Events posted from any other source. If I add an Event in Leopard/iCal 3.0.8, that Event shows up in all other devices that share the Calendar, except other 10.5.8 machines.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to get Sunbird to work with the iCal Server on my Snow Leopard Server install.
I've tried two ways.
First, the way described in the Getting Started manual, following a URL pattern like this for each user:

I set it up a CalDAV calendar.
It asks me for a user name and password, which I enter, but then in the Sunbird interface I get a yellow alert triangle that says, "The calendar calendarName is momentarily not available."
I've also set it up by borrowing the Server path string from iCal (which works fine). I simply add that to the root of my server's DNS name, like so:
http://myserver.example.com/principals/_uids_/0C2A72EF-186E-470F-BB98-A1EE49C7D597/
I get asked for authentication again, but again end up with a yellow triangle and no loaded calendar.
I've checked my Airport Extreme, and it has the iCal ports open (8008 and 8443). The iCal Server is set up fine.
I can see activity in the iCal Server logs from the Sunbird client on Windows, but I have no idea what any of that information means, so it's not particularly helpful.
How did you (or anyone else) get Sunbird working? -
Unable to capture trace, when user logs in throuigh Web Interface
The Trace shows 'No Records Found', when user logs in through Web Interface of CRM. But there is Trace found, when the same user logs in through logon pad and carries out normal actvities.

RegardsST10 traces 1 instance only.
Your CRM web interface could use another instance than your backend. Go to transaction SM21, choose the appropriate server and run ST10 again.

i have a ASA 5505 that I am attempting to configure for WebVPN with passthrough into Web Interface . The user authenticates into WebVPN OK and gets the option to click on the Citrix Link (which is i add bookmark citrix server http:// 172.30.40.5.) i enter the citrix and then for example i want to open to outlook it can not open. (when i want to open some application no application is open)).there is no alarm at asa. how i solve this issue?

Can you confim that after disabling the ssl/tls on the Citrix server (secure connectivity) that you are getting exactly the same error. It is possible that it is generating a different error.
The bug where we have see the existing error was CSCtf06303 but that has been fixed in 8.4.1. Can you confirm the exact version of code you are running on the ASA.
If you have confirmed the above two notes it may be adventageous to open a TAC case as we may need to do some live additional troubleshooting.
