ICal settings help

Does anyone know who to reset the values to there defaults in "Edit" dialog when you Enable Email Invitations in iCal settings?
In testing my email server guy put in all our setting thus overwriting the default setting and now i want the originals back.
I know the username should be [email protected] but i don't know what the password is or how to change it if i should.
any pointers would be great
Pete

I would really like to know this also.. I can't get the two to connect at all!

  • Copy iCal settings

I am running OS X 10.6.8 on my new iMac. Need to copy from Mac OS X 10.4.9.
I want to copy my iCal settings from one compter to another in case the old one dies. I copied the settings from the old computer. Where do I find the iCal settings in OS X 10.6.8? I want to copy them elsewhere in case there is a problem and then I want to replace them with my settings from the other compyuter. I looked at the location below, which is where I found the others on the old compuuter. and don't see them.
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Application Support/iCal/
    Thanks for your help.

    Rufus9,
    Are both computers running Tiger?
If these two computers have the same version of OS X, the calendar source information that you are looking for will be located in ~Library/Application Support/iCal/Sources.
The fact that your help instructions point to ~/Library/Calendars/ indicates to me that one of the computers may be running Panther.
Further details will give you a better response. I cannot verify if a drag and drop will work if you have two different systems.
I also do not know if the iCal>File>Back up Database/Revert to Database Backup feature will work under those circumstances.
In any event make sure that you have a safe/useable backup before attempting to move anything back and forth.

  • ICal settings problem.

I have an iCal settings problem. I simply cannot change the format to 12 hours. I have repeatedly set the system to 12 hours and that works fine. I have re launched iCal several times to no avail. Running system 10.6.7 and iCal is 4.0.4. Any ideas? Thanks. Geoff.

iCal takes its format from System Preferences>Language& Text>Formats.
Click on the 'Customize' button for 'Time' and set as here:
Then drag the  'PM' button in the 'Time Elements' section to after the short time - though when I tried this it didn't appear in iCal. You may need to experiment a bit.

  • Ical broken help?

ical will open with month calendar populated but can't click on any item and can't move between weekly, daily or monthly view. After opening the only active function is quit ical. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the discussions, tworivers.
Is this new behaviour? If so, have you added or changed anything recently? (Applications, settings, fonts ...)
Meanwhile, try dragging com.apple.iCal.plist from the Library/Preferences folder in your Home directory to the Desktop and see does that help.

  • Is It Safe To Transfer Old iCal Settings/Calenders to Tiger?

Had to do an erase and install for Tiger but had backed-up my iCal calenders and settings.
I had a few problems with my iCal and am wondering whether I should just manually re-input all the data in the hope of not transferring the problems. Or should I just go ahead and transfer the old settings, calenders etc?
Has anyone had experience of this, and what the outcome was?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Carole,
Find the .ics files of your old calendars. Make a new calender in iCal for each old calendar. With the new calendar highlighted drag the old .ics file onto iCal. iCal will recreate your calendar - this should remove any previous corruption of the calendar.

  • Final Cut Exporting to DVD Settings Help!

Hello, all. Hopefully someone can help me with this problem that I have been struggling with for weeks.
I shot a video project in standard definition on a Sony VX2000, then edited it in Final Cut Express. I am now wondering what the best export settings would be in order to put it onto a DVD, and maintain the quality at 100 percent. I've tried exporting it in several different ways, but no matter what I do, the quality is never as good as it was shot.
So, what should the export settings be from Final Cut? And do you think I need to use a different software to maintain perfect quality on a DVD?
    Thanks so much

  • Application Server Data Source settings help needed (10.1.2.0.2)

    Hi,
Can someone tell me what maximum values can I set in the following properties under Connection Attributes when I define a DataSource on
Application Server. I have almost 25+ web application deployed on my 10.1.2.0.2 server that all uses one data source I have defined. Now the issue is the number of requests
are very high and every now and then I get timeout error when trying to get the database connection. At one particular instance at peak time I may get over 200+ requests that
do some databse connections etc. Following are my current settings. But need to increase some more but wondering what are the maximum values I can have. I have only one server 10.1.2.0.2
Connection Retry Interval (seconds) = 5
    Max Connection Attempts = 3
Cached Connection Inactivity Timeout (seconds) = 30
    Maximum Open Connections = 60
    Minimum Open Connections = 10
Wait For Free Connection Timeout (seconds) = 15
What other properties can I have to make use of datasource effectively.
    Thanks

Here is the copy of my datasources.xml.
    <?xml version = '1.0' standalone = 'yes'?>

        <property name="serverName" value="someloc99"/>
      </data-source>
</data-sources>I also tried changing max-connections="0" it did helped but still after sometime I get timeout while connecting to the database. Don't know if it's with SQL Server that is not letting that many concurrent connections/sessions or something on the Application Server side.
    Thanks

  • Problem with resseting to factory settings HELP!! ...

hi im having trouble resseting to factory settings. when i enter my lock code it says lock code entered incorrectly 5 times. code will unblock in 5 minutes. what does this mean can anyone help..

It means exactly what it says.
You have entered the code wrong five times so for the next five minutes it will not let you try again.  After five minutes it will let you try again.
If you cannot remember your code after further attempts then you will need to visit a nokia care point to get the code reset.

  • Sony Vaio Laptop return to factory settings HELP

I have a Sony Vaio laptop that i bought 5 years ago.  It is very slow and takes a while to get into the swing of things and I want it to run better, So I have a 1TB external hard drive and I was going to back up all the important files and restore it to factory settings, BUT... I dont have a disc with windows on or anything like that.  So I've found that I can do a recovery partition. Will I be ok to do this without having Windows on disc etc etc?  Would this help the laptop run faster and "be like new" ?

    Hi ltc58!
Thank you for considering Sony Community!
Since your laptop is quite old and you're experiencing slow performance, performing a Full Format Recovery would be the best option, as long as the recovery partition of the unit is still intact and not corrupted. Yes, you can still try to format the computer. Please make sure to backup all of your important files on your external drive. The laptop will reinstall the Operating System and it will go back to its original factory settings.
Please follow one of these steps:
Using Assist Button: Shutdown the laptop and remove all peripherals except for AC adapter. Press Assist button. Select Start Recovery Wizard -> skip Rescue -> Start recovery.
Using F10 key: Shutdown the laptop and remove all peripherals except for AC adapter. Turn on the unit then immediately, keep tapping F10 key.
    NOTES:
*If an Edit Boot Options screen appears, press the Enter key.
*If a Windows Boot Manager screen appears, select VAIO Recovery Environment and then press the Enter key.
In the VAIO Recovery Center window, under Choose a program, click to select Restore Complete System. Follow the on-screen instructions.
The process will take for about an hour. If none of these works, then the recovery partition is not accessible anymore. You may contact Sony Support based on your location to order a Recovery Disc or use a retail version of Operating System.
For further assistance, we kindly recommend visiting our Sony Global Web site for information on contacting the Sony Support Center in your region at http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/.
Hope one of the process works. Good-luck.

  • Restart to factory settings HELP!

So I want to restart my macbook pro early 2011 back to original factory setting i have the snow leopard disk but when i click on it to install it says i cant because i installed Lion on it.
the part i need help in is that i purchased Lion from the app store so I dont have to the disk its self to just restart it from there so I was wondering how am I going to be able to restart my laptop bak to originial factory settings?

Follow these instructions step by step to prepare a Mac for sale:
Step One - Back up your data:
           A. If you have any Virtual PCs shut them down. They cannot be in their "fast saved" state. They must be shut down from inside Windows.
           B. Clone to an external drive using using Carbon Copy Cloner.
              1. Open Carbon Copy Cloner.
              2. Select the Source volume from the Select a source drop down menu on the left side.
              3. Select the Destination volume from the Select a destination drop down menu on the right
                  side.
              4. Click on the Clone button. If you are prompted about creating a clone of the Recovery HD be
                  sure to opt for that.
Destination means a freshly erased external backup drive. Source means the internal
                   startup drive.
Step Two - Prepare the machine for the new buyer:
              1. De-authorize the computer in iTunes! De-authorize both iTunes and Audible accounts.
2, Remove any Open Firmware passwords or Firmware passwords.
              3. Turn the brightness full up and volume nearly so.
              4. Turn off File Vault, if enabled.
              5. Disable iCloud, if enabled: See What to do with iCloud before selling your computer.
Step Three - Install a fresh OS:
         A. Snow Leopard and earlier versions of OS X
              1. Insert the original OS X install CD/DVD that came with your computer.
              2. Restart the computer while holding down the C key to boot from the CD/DVD.
              3. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu; repartition and reformat the internal hard drive.
Optionally, click on the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
              4. Install OS X.
              5. Upon completion DO NOT restart the computer.
              6. Shutdown the computer.
         B. Lion and Mountain Lion (if pre-installed on the computer at purchase*)
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because
it is three times faster than wireless.
              1. Restart the computer while holding down the COMMAND and R keys until the Mac OS X
                  Utilities window appears.
              2. Select Disk Utility from the Mac OS X Utilities window and click on the Continue button.
              3. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click
on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
              4. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on the Security button
and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
              5. Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
              6. Quit DU and return to the Mac OS X Utilities window.
              7. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
              8. Upon completion shutdown the computer.
*If your computer came with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed then you are entitled to transfer your license once. If you purchased Lion or Mountain Lion from the App Store then you cannot transfer your license to another party. In the case of the latter you should install the original version of OS X that came with your computer. You need to repartition the hard drive as well as reformat it; this will assure that the Recovery HD partition is removed. See Step Three above. You may verify these requirements by reviewing your OS X Software License.
