Ical sharing after switching to iCloud

I have swithched from mobile me to icloud. When trying to re-share my calendar with my husband's .me account it tells me I cannot share a calendar with myself. It is my ical on my imac. Why does it think I am him? Any ideas on how to fix this would be VERY much appreciated!

That's not the point.    Before iCloud, Outlook synched with Apple Calendar and/or iCal.    With iCloud, Cal syncs with iPhone and other devices.     Outlook doesn't have to sync with iCloud (although that would certainly be nice).   It just has to continue to sync with Cal, which in turn syncs with devices via iCloud.
But for some inane reason, it doesn't.    If this is Apple's way of forcing people to not use Office and only use Calendar and Apple Mail, they are going to stop the gains they've made in business environments.   Businesses, especially large businesses, use Outlook.   End of story.
Furthermore, Apple's instructions for setting up or deleting iCal and iCloud accounts is complete gibberish. And I'm a tech who has been working with computers for 32 years.   Apple used to be great at making things easy. They now suck at it and are just as bad as Microsoft.

how do i get my apple email to work after switching to icloud?

I'm on OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) with Mac Mail 4.5.
Will deleting a .mac account in Mac Mail lose all saved emails, drafts, etc? I'm afraid of losing all my stuff.
I just switched to iCloud last night and now I can access my mail only through the iCloud web interface. Mac Mail will not work with my .mac email account. But it still works for my other non-Apple addresses.

My iPhone is over capacity after switching to iCloud

After switching to iCloud my iphone is now 13.1 GB over capacity due to 'Other'. Any ideas what 'Other' might be?

Other will include data like, contacts, calandar information, Safari bookmars, notes, e-mail/ attatchments, messaging data, and data stored by a 3rd party app.
Is there data on other devices that is getting coppied accross to increse this threw 'the cloud' ?

my email folders created in me.com don't show anymore in the mail application after I did the switch to icloud, i do see them on the mobileme website but not in my mail application. how do I import those folders to the mail application?

There is a discussion on this issue:

However, the suggestion there is, if the duplicates are also in your icloud, to delete the duplicates MANUALLY.
I have been using ical or its predecessor since 1999. Removing all the duplicates between 1999 and 2014 manually is not why I have a computer.
I noticed the problem after having upgraded from 10.7.5 to 10.9.2. Before 10.9, I did the syncing of my mac with iphone and ipad over the cable and itune. this worked fine.
Since after upgrading to 10.9 you have to do it over icloud, this is what I did.
Is there a way around a manual deletion?

I lost all of my notes after switching my icloud account, is there any way to get them back??

I decided to switch my icloud email to a more frequently used email. After doing this I went to check my notes (where I kept a lot of important things) and found that there was nothing there. It has been really stressing me out because I believe that when it asked if I wanted to delete the account from my phone, I said yes. I am really freaking out here, and could use some advice. I haven't tried much in fear of making it worse, so the sooner the advice, the better! Thank you so much for the help!

If you backup with iTunes and you restored from the backup and the notes were gone, then there is no where to retrieve them from unless you have another backup that contains those notes.
Launch iTunes on the computer and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices. You will see a window with all of your backups listed in it.
If you see a recent backup that you are certain contains the notes that you need, recover deleted notes from iPhone backup.
I think the suggestions might be of use to you.

Anyone having trouble with their MobileMe email after switching to iCloud?

After making the switch to iCloud, I can't access my MobileMe email at all. When I enter my information on my phone to set up the account it verifies it, then when I go to the mail app it says the password is incorrect. When I got to my Mail map on my mac it says the server rejects my password. When I go to the mobile me and iCloud websites they tell me there is an error.

Same here - I had to turn my iphone4 Off several times and finally left if off for a few minutes - that seemed to do the trick. Once I restarted it prompted me to transfer my MobileMe account to iCloud and when I clicked OK it worked like a charm.

After switching to iCloud, Outlook 2011 calendar no longer syncs with iCal.

My all contacts are available after switching to iCloud from Mobileme. Please help to restore all my contacts.

I switched from Mobileme to iCloud last night.
My iphone show all contacts properly.
But, I can't see any of contacts from my Mac and pc.
My all contacts are gone.
Please helpe to restore all my contacts.

Your signature says you have 10.6.2: is this correct? Lion 10.7.2 is required for syncing with iCloud - you cannot sync your contacts on 10.6.2. All you can do is go to http://icloud.com , select Contacts, click the top contact and then the bottom one while holding the shift key to select them all; click on the cogwheel at bottom left and choose 'Exort vCard'.
Then go to Address Book on your Mac, from the File menu choose 'Import' and select your vCard. This will restore the contacts to your Mac but they will not sync with iCloud.

Duplicate ical entries after upgrade to icloud

Have no idea why this has happened, but basically I have been syncing using itunes manually via a cable, got the email from Apple to upgrade, went through the process, now its all on icloud, but I have noticed I have dupliate ical entries.
what is the best way to sort this out now?

ok, I just used the app iCal Dupe Deletor and it found 500 dupes, went through and deleted them all
BUT.... when iCal updated to icloud, it just brought them all back from what I can see and they are all there again
whats the best fool-proof way of sorting this?

Second apple email is still running in MobileMe after switching to iCloud. How do I switch it to iCloud?

I did the transfer to icloud a while back but i just realized that the second email i have attached to my account didn't switch over. Does anybody have an idea how to perform thar switch? I tried signing in on the web and couldn't but all the settings are still mobileme on the email account.

Here is a link to the Apple Support site for everything Apple ID. Your other address may be under another ID. Follow the various paths under Multiple IDs to reconcile this so you can add that email to your iCloud Apple ID. If you find you do not have multiple IDs, the you can simply follow the instructions under Manage My Account for adding additional email addresses. But make sure you don't have multiple IDs first - it will ultimately save you a lot of time and frustration!

ICal hangs after making an iCloud-email-address

I made a mail-adress in my iCloud, and set to that email-address: add calender, add contacts. Now my iCla on my Mac hangs already for 2 days ... It says: update iCal-calenders ....
I deleted already al de plists of i-Cal in Preferences ... I quit everything, started again ... It keeps on "updating iCal-calenders ... " and every event is put 2 even 3 times in my iCal (not in iCloud, only in iCal on my Mac)

If you want to get new email @icloud.com email address for you existing Apple ID, then you have to open "Settings > iCloud" and set up a new iCloud account. It could be that the system ask for an Apple ID which is already an actual email address. In this case you have to change that in here: https://appleid.apple.com

Delete one of these accounts. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > (select account) > Delete Account.

ICal calendar sharing after iCloud transition

iCal calendar sharing after iCloud transition does not work the same. I would like to be able to share a calendar in web view as I was able to before...
I am still able to invite others who have iCloud to see my calendar, but not PC users or others who do not have similar software. I want a url for the calendar soe I can send it to a group to view only. This was possible before the transistion! Please help!

In your iPhone (or iPad) go to settings/general settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars and at the top under "Accounts" you will see "Subscribed Calenars" (not in the calendar section, above that at the top of the page)... click on the calendar you want to delete and do so from there.
