ICal stopped syncing my "work" calendar...

Hi Folks, I only have two calendars, work and home. For some reason when I sync my iPhone it will no longer add my "work" calendar stuff to the phone. Under Info in iTunes I DO have it checked but it just won't do it. Any thoughts? Thanks much for reading.

jburnard,
OK, I will give it a try.
What sync method are you using?
Why are you not using Mac OS X 10.4.11?
What version of iTunes are you using?
Can you correlate when "iCal stopped syncing my "work" calendar..." with any system or application changes?
It may also be helpful to follow this procedure: (If you are not using MobileMe)
1. As a first step, I suggest resetting the sync history on your Mac. This is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application located in your Applications folder.
2. After selecting reset sync history with iSync preferences, restart your Mac and try again. Disconnect your iPhone and quit iTunes.
3. At the iCal menu bar, go to File and select Back up iCal.
4. Save the backup on your Desktop.
5. Delete all calendars from iCal so that is it empty. (You must leave at least one empty calendar)
6. At the iCal menu bar, go to File and select Restore iCal - selecting the backup file placed on your Desktop.
7. Launch iTunes and connect your iPhone.
8. Check if this resolves the problem.

  • ICal stopped syncing with Google Calendar

My iCal recently stopped syncing with my Google Calendar.
Change: I decided to set up an application specific password (http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=185833)
Action: Doing this made me enter the application specific password on my MacBook Air for my Gmail set up confirmation for email.
Result: When that happened everything was syncing fine; email & calendar.
The next morning when I tried to launch my calendar on my Air I received the error message that my Air could not access the Google Calendar. The password was incorrect.
Assumption: I needed to set aup an application specific password now for the iCal on my Air.
Action: I removed the calendar in iCal preferences and created an app specific password and tried to set up the calendar again using the app specific password from Google.
Result: Selected Account Type (Google) Email (google email) Password (app specific password)
Error Message: Server with Secure Communication Unavailable - Your calendar account isn't on a server that can recive your calendar information securely. If a server isn't secure, others may be able to view your calendar information. To continue searching for your account on servers that may not be secure, and then set up the account it's found, click continue.
Action: I went into my Google Calendar settings and made the calendar public.
Note: When I originally set up my calendar I didn't get this message or have to make my Google calendar public.
Question: Why am I getting this error message now?
Change: Account Settings: prompted me now to set this up as a CalDav account....?
    What the heck?

the same is happening to me.
All my cals have been syncing just fine. Upgraded my iphone os5. upgraded lion on laptop. And for some reason, now i'm opening ical today and trying to edit, i am suddenly getting URL errors. Also i cannot find a way in the new ical (with lion) to unsubscribe from things.
My iphone seems to be updating ok as it's syncing from the google cal server... but if i want to add or edit anything to my google cals in ical, it's not letting me do anything.
    Any ideas anyone ?

  • My macbook pro is running 10.10.1 and has stopped syncing reminders and calendar events to iCloud.

My macbook pro is running 10.10.1 and has stopped syncing reminders and calendar events to iCloud. Changes made to iCloud directly DO update to my machine, so the communication issue is one way only. When I make a change to the calendar or reminders on my machine, it will often bog down and run slowly. I have done several trouble shooting steps without result. these include:
    Restarting my computer.
Running Disk Utility diagnostics for both permissions and disk verification.
Checking that my internet and network is working.
Checking that I am properly logged in to iCloud with my ID on my machine and that I have set everything to sync.
Checking my iCloud settings to stop syncing Reminders and Calendars and then setting them back to sync again.
    Any suggestions?

    1. Calendars in the On My Mac or On My iPhone/iPad/iPod category, and calendars that sync with other network services such as Google, will not sync with iCloud.
    2. Back up all data, then take all the applicable steps in these support articles:
    iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar
iCloud: Advanced Calendar and iCal troubleshooting
Nearly all sync issues should be resolved that way. Please make sure you've taken all the steps and tested adequately before continuing.
    3. If there are any calendars on your Mac that you don't synchronize with iCloud, export them by selecting them in the calendar list and then selecting
              File ▹ Export ▹ Export…
from the menu bar. Quit Calendar.
    4. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Calendars
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
              Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder selected. Move that folder to the Desktop.
    5. Launch Calendar. Your calendars will initially be gone, but they should resynchronize with iCloud. If they don't, uncheck the boxes marked Calendars and Reminders in the iCloud preference pane, then re-check them.
    6. Import the calendars you exported in Step 3, if any, by double-clicking the files.
    7. If the issue is resolved, close the Finder window you opened in Step 4. Delete the exported files and the Calendars folder on the Desktop.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • HT4915 How do you stop syncing address and calendar to iCloud? I only want to sync  from my computer to iPhone.

How do you stop syncing address and calendar to iCloud? I only want to sync  from my computer to iPhone.  This is because I cannont upgrade to Lion and I do not want to get duplicate contacts when I sync from the computer 10.6.8 to my iPhone iOS5.  You should not upgrade to Lion upless you have 4GB of ram. Lion does not support rosita so all your old programs will not funtion and you have to repurchase all old software the is working fine.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Settings > iCloud, turn off contact and calendar syncing.

  • ICal stops syncing with Exchange 2010

I have a few users with Macbooks, syncing iCal with the company server Exchange 2010. All of them work fine apart from one... I can setup the Exchange account as normal, and all events are correctly synced. After a few days, iCal stops syncing and I got a message "Go offline, revert to server, try again". At this point, the only workaround is to delete the account, and recreate it with the same settings... Then iCal works fine for a few days and again.
This server is working fine with iPhones, Android, Outlook 2011 (Mac), Outlook 2010 (Windows)...
Anyone facing the same issue ? Any idea ?

I did a hard reset and that didn't fix my issue so i wouldn't suggest doing a hard reset.
    My environment:
    Exchange 2010 SP1
    Droid  with FRG22D
I haven't been able to pinpoint the issue but it has to do with the request and response with provisioning between the devices and exchange. Nothing has changed but updating the phone to the latest patch.
    I receive the following error:

  • ICal stopped syncing with iPhone

My iPhone has been blissfully syncing, as expected, until the last few days, when it no longer syncs with my iCal. New calendar items don't sync to the phone, and new items on my iPhone won't sync to iCal.
I have been running a third party application Busysync to sync with my Google calendar, and this has also stopped syncing from Google calendar to my main computer, but not from iCal to my Google calendar. I have been trying to get help with this from their forums, where a suggestion came up that recurring calendar items might be triggering problems within Google calendar and therefore Busysync, but even when I stop Busysync running, my iCal and iPhone still won't sync with each other.
I've attempted resetting my Sync history in iSync, but it makes no difference. This was a problem prior to updating to iTunes 9, and I was wondering if anyone else had been having problems with the last update of iTunes 8. Or is there another simple way of resetting things, as resetting the Sync history seems to do nothing...
    Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. My iPhone calendar was syncing to my iCloud and my Macbook Pro but then it stopped. Now I've added an iMac and can't get my phone to sync to either computer. It's not only annyoing but very bothersome when you add an appointment to your iPhone and it doesn't update to your iCalendar at home.

  • Ical stopped syncing after update...

My iPhone iCal stopped syncing after the 2.0.1 update. All my other devices are syncing perfectly. anybody else experiencing this?

I tried a lot of things but nothing worked. I finally got the events in ical to sync back to the iphone by turning off sync at the iphone then turning it back on again. Events get sync then, but not again until I repeat this (which pretty much defeats the point of pushing!). Hopefully MobileMe will be fixed soon!

  • Why have my Entrourage and iCal stopped syncing?

After months of working flawlessly, new events in Entourage have stopped syncing to iCal. Short of wiping out my old Entourage calendar in iCal and re-importing, how can I get a new event to show up in iCal?

If you upgraded the iOS version on them to iOS 7, and you haven't upgraded your iTunes to at least 11.1 then that could be the cause of your issues.

    iCal stops sync

I am trying to sync my BB with my Mac.  I have tried everything I can find on these forums, and it’s still not working.  I don’t actually get an error message, it just freezes and stops responding during the iCal sync.
    My specs:
    BB 9700, v5.0.0.862 (Bundle 1446, Platform 5.1.0.175)
BB Desktop Manager Version 1.0.4 (build 10)
MacBook Pro with OS X v10.5.8
    I have:
Removed all recurring events with no ending
Removed the battery and the sim card
    Deleted BB Manager and re-installed
“Forgot “ the device, re-installed BBM and re-set up the synchronization
    Enabled sync in Microsoft Entourage
    On the device:
    Compression is enabled
    Media Card Support is On
Mass Storage Mode Support is Off
    Keep Appointments – Forever
    I am:
    Using BB supplied cord
Using 2-way synchronization, with device data replaced.
    I have also tried syncing:
             All Events
             Only future events
Only events 90 days prior and 90 days after
Replacing all calendar events on this BlackBerry device
Does anyone have any suggestions??  I have wasted so much time on this, the top of my head is about to pop off.
    Thanks.
First off, why are you using a MBP on Leopard and not snow loepard? Nevermind that.
    1. de-encrypt your BB unless you cannot IT Policy; This may be the answer to the issue [it policy that is].
    2. Two way synchronization with device data to be replaced - ensure in Calendar that its set to Entourage if you wish this.
    3. ENSURE the USB cable is NOT on an external full size Apple keyboard [not enough power is going through those ports] - directly connect to the MBP.
    4. Before you connect the BB - go into Options> Advanced Options> Enterprise Activation and type: ALT key+CNFG ... turn off wireless SYNC [if this is BES enabled BB]. Then try to sync.
either or all of these should work.

help! my ical has stopped syncing. i have two users on the desktop mac and one on my ibook. usually it works seamlessly but since i did a software update it has stopped. i have tried to reset sync data and i even started a new user. everything seems to sync except ical. i don't know what else to try. suggestions please!!

Well, this is the iSync forum. iSync is only for syncing with non-Apple mobile phones via a USB or Bluetooth connection.

  • Outlook Calendar stopped syncing with iPhone Calendar

I deleted a recurrent event on my iPhone and this action appears to have confused the sync capability between my iPhone and MS Outlook Calendar.
Outlook still tries to find the recurrent event on start-up even though it is not shown in Outlook Calendar.
More concerning is that new events and changes in Outlook Calendar are no longer syncing with iPhone Calendar. The time to complete the Calendar sync activity is noticeably longer than any of the other sync actions, which suggests that there is a problem.
I have been through the restore routine in iTunes and also attempted to replace all the Outlook Calendar data on the iPhone using the Advanced facility on the iTunes Info tab.
I appreciate that this may be an Outlook issue but are there any other things that I can try to restore the sync capability between the 2 Calendars.
All other sync functions appear to work ok - I have created and deleted Contact data from both Outlook and iPhone and this works fine.
    Grateful for any help!

I'm not sure if this will work for you. It seems every time I research a problem, everyone has a different solution that doesn't work for everyone. (I just spent an hour and a half searching for a solution in various forums.) But this one just worked for me.
I went into iTunes, into the Devices page for my iPhone, then to the Info tab. I unchecked Sync Calendars with Outlook. A pop-up appeared saying, I believe (I didn't write it down) "Do you want to delete previously synced calendars on the iPhone" - or words to that effect. Since I hadn't entered anything directly into the iPhone calendar in a while, I clicked Okay. Then I clicked on Apply (lower right corner of iTunes). The iPhone synced, and all appointments disappeared from the iPhone calendar. I then rechecked Sync Calendars with Outlook, clicked Apply, and the iPhone synced once again - and all my Outlook calendar appointments appeared on the iPhone.
This was, I admit, after having deinstalled all Apple software from my PC and reinstalling it. That didn't work on its own (still couldn't sync calendars), but I don't know for sure whether it had something to do with the success of the de-sync / re-sync.
Good luck. These solutions always seem to be hit-and-miss.

  • ICal stopped syncing via .mac

iCal has stopped syncing using .mac and I can't use iCloud because I'm on Snow Leopard (can't upgrade yet due to Lion's lack of support of previous versions of Microsoft Office). The iCal sync option is turned on in system preferences. Has Apple changed something already in .mac to cause this?

  • ICal stopped syncing after password change

After changing my iCloud password, iCal on one of my computers stopped syncing.  I assume I need to enter the new iCloud password, but can't figure out where.  Any thoughts? Thanks!

Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
